Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park: what do users think?
Mark Dykstra: A very relaxing afternoon.
S Root: Wonderful place to walk and enjoy nature and art. Always see something new. The Japanese garden is especially nice.
C Smith: What a beautiful place to visit! I've been a couple times for concerts (awesome venue) but never visited the actual gardens until recently. We were there for a couple hours and didn't even come close to seeing everything. I can't wait to come back and am thinking of getting a membership once our little is born so we can visit often!
amber heaton: The gardens are ok but get boring after just a couple visits. They never change anything and the price is the same throughout the year. The ticket is very expensive to me because the attractions never change. They seem to want to keep their involvement with the Museums for All program a secret. They list it on the site but do not include it on the pricing boards when purchasing a ticket on site. I have bought tickets with this program twice and both instances the staff member became rude and judgmental. All I did was ask for those tickets then present the cards needed. I'll continue to go here because I live in the area but there are much better gardens in MI!
Enirroc Hemera: I love to visit here every year these gardens have something new each time I come here or just some much to see and not enough time in a day pure Michigan wonderful place to bring kids
Caylyn Roney: Playground: Very kid friendly and lots of activities for the kiddos.Restrooms: Nice clean, well kept restrooms.Picnic area: Gorgeous view of the parks.
Barbara Demis: Frederick Meijer Gardens are beautiful and offer activities for children and adults alike. The grounds are clean and well cared for.
Stephanie Meehan: Beautiful gardens, well-curated and the staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. Had a wonderful time here with my family.
Shelly Struss: My husband and I spent three hours here and didn't see everything. We could easily spend the whole day. Loved the Japanese gardens the most.
Christine Thieman: It's a wonderful place to spend the afternoon 😊
Tasha ann (tbaby): We went over the weekend and it was absolutely beautiful!!
Samantha Laube: Beautiful indoor and outdoor gardens, lots to see and enjoy. My go-to spot to bring out of town friends. I love the butterfly exhibit they feature in early spring.
Celeste E: Beautiful garden and facilities. There are bathrooms everywhere, which is excellent when you are with small children. You definitely need to go early if you want to see everything. The children's garden was a hit for our kids. The Japanese garden and the large horse were the adults favorite.
melanie Burns: Beautiful
Regina Woods: In all the 30+ years I've lived in Michigan, I had never been to Meijer Gardens. It's big and has lots of exhibits, gardens, water features and sculptures. They had a good size children's garden with an interactive water feature of the great lakes. We only had about 3 hours to see as much as we could. I would recommend at least 6 hours to really see everything. It's wheelchair accessible everywhere you go. They do have a picnic pavilion at the front of the gardens.
Brenda Jablonski: Planning a second trip before May 1st to see the butterfly exhibit. Everything was incredibly beautiful I love art 🎨
Lisa Long: Great place, plenty of parking. I recommend the tram tour to get an idea of what you want to go back and see.
j.j. bobasho: I had heard a lot of good things about the art at this place, and that part did turn out to be absolutely true. What no one talks about, however, is that this location is cold, dark, and rainy (even on an afternoon in May
Daniel Richardt: Loved the Devos Japanese garden and the Meijer sculptures along with the Chihuly glass. The concrete tree columns are a great touch. Had a chance to talk with several staff and Amy was delightful.
Tracia Stansby: One of my favorite places in GR! We went to see the Cherry Blossoms in the Japanese Garden and timed it just right with the Butterflies. The sculpture park is still my favorite area. So much to see, I always have my camera with me also. You can eat in their cafeteria or bring a packed meal. Staff is friendly. They do have a children's play area, nature trail, and a Tram.Playground: Not necessarily a playground with slides, but there is a pretty large play area for kids.Restrooms: They really upped their game with the restrooms after the remodel. They are really nice and plenty of stalls. They also have seperate family restrooms.
Paul Williams: What a gem!

Lookout Park: what do users think?
Katie Tice: Open, quietRestrooms: Very cleanPicnic area: There's grills and tables for picnics
Matthew Asselin: Beautiful view, overlooks Grand Rapids and you can see the sun set pretty well!
Miguel Vega: Parking lot closed so hard to find a place to park
Kathy Sue: There not much look at and I also came from another city and it wasn't appealing.
Josiah Schrotenboer: One of the best views of Grand Rapids. I love the park improvements over the past few years.
Karla Cadotte: Beautiful 😍
Cort Nabozny: Small park but well maintained and great views of uptown GR and Belknap baseball fields. Large paved hills are great for incline workouts.Dog-friendliness: Dogs must be on leash, pet waste bags and disposal stationPicnic area: Nice grass with great views and waste receptacles, close to parking. Hillside is perfect for viewing events at Belknap Park.
john krueger: Great views of the city, Grand River and the sunset to the west. Parking is only on the street and can be hard to come by.Have heard that the park is not the safest later at night from those that live in town.
Isaac Sainz: Good view
Tabetha Gable: Loved the new swings! Spectacular view as usual
Mark Burns: Not a big fan of the city closing off the parking lot but I guess they didn't have much of a choice
Greg Wickstrom: Good view over looking part of downtown GR
Stevie Smith: Lookout Park is one of the best views in Grand Rapids! Can see most of the city skyline year-round.
Bill Cleveland: Lookout park has great views of Grand Rapids. Good to go at a low demand time due to scarce parking. Stairs on the south side going down to the bottom of the hill sufficiently decrepit that it is barricaded off. Short walks on top of hill with longer walks possible at the bottom of the hill. Nice ball fields and the hill leading down to them shows great potential for sledding.
Bryon Burnett: I love the views. Some say that it's not a good place to be after dark but I am not intimidated by some reviews and I have never had any problems here
Ryan Yates: Beautiful scenery
Ms. Kristy Katcha: Lookout park is small but cute, over looks the zoo and John Ball park. There is handicap parking, trails, Pavillion, and playground.
J. McCormick: This is a way understated Park in GR that is always gorgeous, but especially at sunset. Lots of folks bring blankets, picnics, pups - always a good experience lots of neighbors
Joshua McAlpine: Favorite view. Favorite sledding hill. Great hill for running up
Shannon Potts: Love the sunset
Connie Forzley: Pretty view and nice spots to eat

Gabrielle Hensch: I’d definitely check out their website for events— they have a lot of fun events all year round. I’ve been a few times to craft shows, art workshops and of course, got to meet some very cute critters! They have HUGE nature trails. Not a huge parking lot so on busy days, parking can be tough.
Sandi White: A nice place to go. There are rescued animals that you can see very closely and lots of nature trails to roam. Most of the trails off the main one were flooded or muddy because we had rain a few days in a row.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $1–5 …More
Damir “Grof” Kesar: Went with my daughters 3rd grade class as a chaperone and I have to say it had been a decade or longer since I went there last time and the place is much improved and very educational for kids and adults. Their guides ended up getting sick the night before and I thought that would make the tour less fun (as the parents had to act as guides) but no it was still easy to navigate and full of both nature and history that remains relevant.

Book a reservation online in advance (it’s the only way to your), but admission is free! It starts with a 35min video about the history and restoration, then you tour the house in great detail. We didn’t feel rushed at all, and all of our questions were answered. Highly recommend this tour to locals and visitors! Also, restroom in the visitor center has a baby changing table!
