Planned Parenthood - Irwin/Martin Health Center: what do users think?
Michelle Elsner: Only giving 5 star to be seen. Came in for an IUD placement. Was REFUSED by NP. Will still have to pay copay for office visit. What a JOKE!
bishnu tamang: Always treat best, and our car was dead today, they help us with that as well. Thank you 🙏❤️❤️
Kare: I’ve meant to do this review in December, I’ve always loved planned parenthood and always recommended them to everyone but the receptionist over the phone was very unempathetic, rude and unprofessional. She was inconsiderate because she wouldn’t let me translate for my mother which I let slide but she had an issue when my mom wasn’t comfortable with a male interpreter, had an attitude & claimed that’s all she could do for us and that it’s weird for her not to be able to talk to a male when the reason we called was to ask about my moms health with her private part. I get that if there was lack of female interpreters but to say there should not be a problem with my mom feeling weird about it is very insensitive because she has a right to feel that way! We went somewhere else but she needs to be fired or dealt with, I wish I would’ve gotten her name but I do remember that phone call being sometime in the morning.
Lola: Called to make Gender affirming care appointment, was repeatedly misgendered. I don't think I'll be going here.
Destiny Lazzari-Morgan: I went in to get my Depo shot. Was told by my doctor at the Evenson Center that I could walk in at any of their locations with my ID and no appointment with no problem. When I walked into the Cherry location and showed them I had an ID, they told me I needed to make an appointment. They had nothing open for my schedule for another 5 days or so. They seemed to be very unorganized and not concerned with any costumers. I called the Evenson Center short after and explained the situation and I will be going to the Evenson Center instead, without making an appointment, to get my shot. They were kind and understanding about my busy schedule. I highly recommend them over Cherry Street. (Review I left with 2 Stars 9 years ago)Update: I've been coming to this location since the close of the Evenson Center years ago. The atmosphere has changed for this facility with the current doctors and nurses staffed here. I am always in and out quickly and they are always kind and helpful. They used to have security stationed at the entrance, but there hasn't been the past few times I've been there, which concerns me. Maybe they are located in a different area on site? I just know it made me feel safer seeing the security guard at the door when I visited. I still think this location is doing amazing being the only location in area now.
Kathy Bennett: Their patient room doors are like paper. I could hear every word they said about me. Fat shaming and joking about my arms, calling them wings. So much for a safe, judgement free space. I will never go back there again!!!
Star Guadalupe: I took my friend here for an appointment. Her appointment was at 11:10. She didn’t get called back until 11:40. Then they spent 20 mins asking her random questions and is still currently waiting to get her birth control shot. Like why is it taking almost 2 hours to get a shot!?
Shamel Scaife: Just very unprofessional and will have you waiting for them to pick up the phone forever if they even pick it up
Haylie Santiago: I’ve called everyday for two weeks and nobody ever answered their phone, I’ve left multiple voicemails and haven’t gotten a call back,& the website won’t let me book an appointment through it.
Brielle Dracht: Friendly staff. They explained everything I needed to know and answered all my questions and were open and understanding. The only con is that wait times get long, so just be prepared for that.
Azrhiel Frost: They have a 24 hour cancellation policy and I have an appointment in 11 days that I need to cancel. No one answers the phone ever, there is no way to do this on the website (although if you call, the automated message tells you to schedule/cancel on the website, and it is literally not possible). I never received an email confirmation either because I was going to try emailing them. I give up. If they try charging me for an appointment I've spent way too many hours trying to cancel I'm going to lose it.
Nevaeh Kolberg-long: I have a really important question no one is answering I don’t have time sit around and wait 20 to 30 minutes
squirell a: I've been on hold since 9 am its currently 11:30....
Kelly Sophia: Staff was extremely kind and helpful, they explained everything to me and made sure to ask if I had questions every step of the way. I was seen very promptly and they were very accommodating. Even without insurance the price of my birth control was discounted heavily from the original cost. Highly recommend planned parenthood in general and this specific location for anyone unsure.Keep in mind that they do not accept walk-ins at this locations (except for teenagers during very specific hours and to pick up birth control or emergency contraception) so do yourself a favour and make an appointment.
Vile Carter: Worsts place to ever gooooo service sucks and they don’t give you a lot information 0 stars
Mama Bear: I waited 6 hours I got there at 12:30 and my appointment was at 1:45 I didn’t mind that wait but I didn’t get seen until 5:30. There was people there that got here at 10am and weren’t seen until 3:30-4pm. Then when I went to go pay I was told they took my insurance but the lady at the desk when you go to pay was very rude about it and said they didn’t understand because they don’t take my insurance and said she didn’t know what I expected her to do. They went from super nice to having the biggest attitude. I walked out crying because of how much attitude I got.
joshua jewell: I showed up early to my appointment and was in and out very quickly. Very expensive visit though, even with insurance ended up paying TWO separate bills, not cool
ICrimsonXI: They do alot of good for the community
Aeon Black: The service over there isn't much for a first impression. I didn't even end up keeping my appointment with them due to the wait. If I have an appointment at a certain time, why should I have to wait an hour+ after my scheduled time to potentially be seen. They seem friendly in there and I imagine they do great work, but that wait is not worth it, especially when they don't give you any indication how long you'll have to wait if the appointment isn't on time. I can probably just see a regular doctor and be in and out quicker than how long the wait over there was
Erica Bouillon: Professional and kind staff.
Alexa .Slaktoski: While i didnt have insurance they let me pay for my depo shot on a donation basis which was awesome. Their testing and treatment is very swift and affordable and the staff is always extremely informative and helpful. They always presented all the options so i could make the choice that worked best for me. Theyve always respected my privacy and needs and have been my primary health provider for the last three years. The only complaint i have is that sometimes even if youve scheduled an appointment you may have to wait up to an hour to get into a room, however they are very short staffed at the time so its understandable.

PRC-Medical Services: what do users think?
Alison Soderquist: Upfront about pricing, informative, and very kind. Didn’t feel judged or pressured in any way during my STD test, and was allowed to self-swab. I’m not personally religious and understand that this is a technically a religious facility, and in fact I accidentally made an appointment here thinking I was making an appointment at the local planned parenthood— but the staff is very friendly and professional, and I felt comfortable and welcome. Would recommend to anyone for comprehensive STD/bacterial testing and information related to STDs. The testing also includes treatments for positive diagnoses and informational summary printouts from the CDC.
Regina Maslakova: I called freaking out pregnant wanting to seek an abortion and this girl named I believe it was Vanessa who helped me calm down and chose to keep my baby, but it turned out to be a false positive either way this girl really took the time out of her day to listen to my concerns. I just really don't know what I would have done if she didn't console me the way she had. I appreciate the PRC so much for this moment interaction you guys have great employees.
Frania Boone: Treated very disrespectfully on the phone and via text. Website states that you are entitled to a "Limited ultrasound" after having a positive pregnancy test to verify pregnancy, hear fetal heartbeat, etc. The lady on the phone just kept saying the same sentence "We only do limited ultrasounds. What you need is an OB". Very disappointed in that woman, and by extension organization.
Holly Rogers: Trash, absolute garbage place to go. They are anti choice and force their religious views on you. Zero stars if I could. They are not a credible facility in my opinion and I would discourage anyone who wanted to go here.
babs fantola: PRC is amazing!! They make you feel so comfortable. They are there to help you in everyway possible.
Vanessa Johnson: The PRC is very welcoming and really cares about every patient that walks through their doors. They offer amazing services including low cost STD testing! I highly recommend the PRC.
Ruth Mooney: PRC is a safe place. The medical professionals give you the information you need. I highly recommend their services.
britney zehr: Welcoming staff and facility. Very helpful and understanding. I would highly recommend PRC!
Laureen Schmidt: I tried to go to PRC today for an ultrasound and was told I would need to make an appointment because spots fill up quickly for ultrasounds. That's fine, I completely understand that. What I didn't like was that I was taken into a room to schedule an ultrasound and was asked what my plan was for the baby. I said I was going to keep it. The woman working then says well we like to reserve those appointments for women who are unsure on what they are going to do....like really?? So because I said I planned on keeping the baby I'm not entitled to a free ultrasounds like your website boasts. Thanks a lot PRC!
Jesika Cueta: Very caring and attentive staff.
Sarah R: I didn't have insurance at the time, but I need a place to go to get tested for BV. The nurse was cheerful, but giggly when she asked if if "you found out you were pregnant today, what would happen?" I understand why she asked that question, but don't act all cute.So the result come back...I don't have BV. Well, I still have the symptoms, and it's getting annoying. I finally went to my regular doctor a few days later. Guess what? I have BV. I got proper treatment and was better a few days later. I ghosted the doctor when she called me back with the third party lab results. She left PHI on my voice mail, which is a huge no-no.Also, the board of directors doesn't have a single doctor, or medical professional on it. I find it ironic that an organization that provides care for pregnant women has one female on its board of directors. The rest are all male CEO/CFOs.
Lindsay Lieffers: What an honourable facility! Providing pregnant women with knowledge, great care, and giving them tools to better care for themselves and their babies. All at no cost to the Mama!
Kni Easha Richmond: Love the staff they are Awesome!
Tabitha Hunter: This clinic will NOT provide abortion services. This is a "Crisis Pregnancy Clinic." These clinics are tax payer funded to delay and provide misleading information to women seeking abortion until they are too late into pregnacy.
Cristine Fuhrman: Highly qualified medical staff. Licensed nurses as well as registered sonographers to provide care and ultrasounds at the same level as physicians office. Board members comprised of doctors and other medical professionals. Caring staff that provides judgement free answers and information.
Jillian Otto: their free ultrasound is the same as what you’d get from an OB-GYN. They offer judgment free care.
Kiera Honderd: The prc is very professional and has well trained staff that are able to give information about all your options. Wether thats adoption, abortion, or raising a child. I was in very good hands, and very well informed.
Seth H: I am always impressed by the kindness and professionalism of their licensed medical staff. Thanks for all you do!
Molly Klimas: The Pregnancy Resource Center of Grand Rapids wraps their arms around people in a loving and nonjudgmental way -- they are a wonderful resource for the community that offers free ultrasounds and other medical services plus education and family support programs. I'm grateful for the work of pregnancy resource centers here and across the country -- a PRC helped me years ago when I was facing an unplanned pregnancy. I don't know what I would have done without their help. Thank you!
Crystal Hoag: I volunteered at the PRC for several years, and am proud to financially support them. They maintain a strong commitment to medical accuracy, professionalism and excellence in service. They are dedicated to serving everyone who walks through their doors, free of judgement. They do not push agendas, but present facts. PRC offers truth, hope, and grace in a judgment free environment.
Kat M: **This is an anti-choice fake clinic** Does not include all options + will push religious agenda pro-birth 'choices' on you/someone you have brought there for options. There are a lot of better pro choice options in the immeadiate area- please visit those to get the support you need and deserve. Planned Parenthood is a couple doors down, you will get honest answers + the support you need there.

Kent County Health Department: what do users think?
Logan Goins: Whoever the operator was on March 8th, 2023 at 1:32 pm needs to be fired. Absolutely atrocious service. One of the rudest people I have encountered. She needs to find another job, or go back to school or something. Trying to get an answer of our water is safe to drink( i have a newborn,) and nobody can give me an answer. Water was shut off randomly yesterday, and since it has come back on it has been brown. Nobody warned us or gave us any indication there would be people working on the water.
Lydia Bolen: Very helpful and informative! I ask lots of questions and they never make me feel silly.
Thomas Evans: Always helpful and very nice in my experience, nurses knowledgeable and answer question. Thank you all.
Star: You need to change your automated phone system, it is the worst I have ever experienced
Brittany Clason: I went to the Annex building in the back it was very simple and quick. Staff was very friendly. I was there for a vision and hearing test for my child to start school.
Alex G: Tried to report a case of bedbugs at a hotel I visited. They shoved me to the licensing board instead and the licensing board sent me back. Then they said they don’t “do” bedbugs and to call the BBB. So if you stay at a hotel that is infested and your child is bitten, just know the Kent County Health Department is only good for passing the buck.
Jenna Seehase: Called regarding immunizations and was rudely instructed I’ll need to call back when they open, was not given the opportunity to ask if I can just come in? If I need an appointment? Etc.When I did call back I waited through the lengthy phone tree several times and waited on hold for 20+ minutes and never spoke to a person.
Trish Gruswitz: Quick easy and no wait vaccinations.
Travis Faber: Their discriminatory covid precautions are keeping my healthy children out of school. Quarantining healthy people for 20 days because they "might" have been around someone who "might" have had covid is insanity.
Ruth Swier: Friendly and organized. The staff is amazing!
Mike Kalis: Making 4 yr olds wear masks is silliness.
Shaun Hattis: Disgusting waste of tax payers money!
Paul Sweeney: The container that package the masks say they do not work then how do you say you trust the science when you do t even listen to the manufacturer that's like filling a close basket with water because you said it will fill up our children our going to deny you're mask mandate
Liz Fredrickson: Very organized and friendly on a very busy day for vaccines.
michael boyle: Travel clinic does not provide Malaria Prophylaxis. They do vaccines only. This will require another visit with your own doctor.
Jill: Just got my first Covid vax and everything went fine. The process is well thought out, from the signage outside to the registration process. I did not encounter any lines or significant wait times, just one old guy who cut in front of me which was slightly annoying. The county employees were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They made an appointment for my second dose which I was thankful for.
Karen Rozanski: Greatly mishandled my children’s Covid quarantines. Inconsistent and incompetent staff. Each person I spoke with contradicted the person I spoke with before them. Extremely disappointing experience!
Sameer Shah: Everyone is always so friendly and is happy to be there! Incredible staff.
John Fetter: I have gone to the Personal Health Clinic for years and find them to be efficient, friendly, informative and non-judgemental. Also if you're in the LGBTQ community and wanting to get on PrEP they can help you through the whole process very quickly. I would have provided a full 5 stars except for one employee who was at the front desk who was robotic and a bit rude. However I believe she's no longer there and in the last year all front counter employees are quite pleasant.
Ellery Bonnema: Got my covid vaccine and they were so organized, friendly, and efficient!
The Popdog: Great job on the Covid vaccine injection. Plenty of staff, well organized. Bring your insurance card

Gvsu Family Health Center: what do users think?
Raenelle Bartman: I absolutely love GVSU Family Health Center. I have never received better care! I receive so many services in one building making things convenient. The staff is incredibly caring & understanding. They actually listen to you and help. Very fast and convenient scheduling!
Grey Barber: Because of the pandemic and moving I had missed my yearly check up and was nervous about seeing a new provider and filling out health paperwork for the first time on my own especially being trans, but coming here all the front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful through the process answering any questions I had in a clear way. I had an appointment with Jerrica and she was wonderful! Very welcoming and informing and made the space incredibly comforting for a doctors office/visit. She was personable and spoke to me directly pretty much the entire time. She was very quick to give me multiple resources for my needs and made clear every action her and her staff were taking during my visit. One of the best visits I've had, would highly recommend it to anyone whose LGBTQ+.
Ashley Brothers: I’ve been taking my kids here for 8 years. They let all of their good people go and left with junk. My son is ADHD and has autism, he’s on meds and he’s been without them for months because they claim they called them in but my pharmacy, that I’ve used for years, says they didn’t. Then they refused to call them in because they said they already did! So I try to transfer care to a better office go fill out all the forms and they don’t send any of my children’s information over! New office can’t do anything and I can’t seem to reach anyone about it. One NP tried to push adderall on my son (who’s 8!)and when I refused is when his current adhd meds were held from him(that’s how I feel at least). I will be putting in a complaint with a medical board as well. Taking away my sons medication that helps get him thru ABA therapy and drastically helps in his schooling is WRONG! Can’t seem to get ahold of anyone at the office now and I’m highly upset. DO NOT go here.
Devin Gibbs: Absolutely the worst doctors office I have ever visited. Staff were all friendly and inviting, ensuring me that the recommended added services were not going to cost any more while I was at my annual wellness visit. I received a bill for over $100 though, and called thinking it was a mistake. Apparently, when the doctor asks "Is there anything else you would like to talk about?" and you spend two minutes discussing other minor topics, they feel the need to add a huge charge to the bill. That two minute conversation took away the "preventative" status of the appointment. I feel that this doctor's office makes money their priority and will not work with their patients in any way. 100% would not recommend to anyone.
Nicolas Oudbier: Don't go here
Rik Horoky: I had a really upsetting first patient appointment and would not recommend this center for any transgender or LGBT patients. When I entered, my doctor was really hasty and didn't attempt to get to know me - she immediately began referring to my chart instead of speaking to me about my medical history, and I don't know why, but her tone was accusatory when running through my medication list. When finding out I was a transgender man due to the testosterone prescription on my list, she seemed flustered. For those that don't know, prescribing testosterone injections is like prescribing Ibuprofen for pain - it is an incredibly common, well-reviewed, and safe practice, and I have been on this medication for over 3 years now with no complications. It is critical to my care. However, they couldn't provide me with this because the prescribing physician, who she said can be a bit old-fashioned, did not approve it. This has never happened to me before. To not be able to prescribe testosterone to a trans patient in 2021completely demonstrates that this health center is not prepared (or willing) to serve transgender patients. This isn't even the most upsetting aspect of my appointment, but for the sake of this review and my privacy I'm leaving it at this. I don't want other trans patients to experience what I did - If you're LGBT, consider somewhere else. Cherry Health also takes Medicaid and has been great.
Kristi Rutter: I found a primary care doctor here and she is very through and nice! I had a great experience here overall. :)
Jeremy Mullan: I’ve waited almost 2 months for my specialist appointment and called to double check with my doctors office where the location was and was given the wrong address, now I’m waiting another two months…
Denise Bush: I think it's a nice place! Never a long wait!
ivelise Green: I love this office everyone is always so kind, helpful and prompt. They always take great care of my family.
Megan Foster Parent: This clinic is a hidden gem. The staff, nurses and Jamie Hendricks specifically, are the most caring and thorough medical staff one could hope for. They develop relationships with their patients and offer so much support and great medical advice.
Joshua Leffingwell: Great staff, and they have been able to get me in quickly when I have been sick.
Tabi Vance: WORST doctors office. They have screwed billing and insurance up so many times that I owed over 1000 dollars for two physicals and some meds. It’s been over a year and guess who has been sent to debt collector, and now there’s nothing I can do because “they can’t recharge insurance because it’s out of their hands now”. And when I called to have them send paperwork to the debt collector they wanted to charge me to do that, because it’s only free if they send it to another doctor. Uh, HELL no, you’ve already screwed up so many times why would I let you charge me again!? I’ve also have problems where nobody will answer the phone and I’ll leave a message to reschedule an apt and they will send me paperwork saying “you’ve missed an apt without notifying us, next time there will be consequences.” Please don’t visit here if you expect the secretaries to know what they are doing, or if you don’t want to go though a billing nightmare.
Tjames0220 D: One of the worst places to go. You sit and wait forever. The front desk staff is terrible. They have maybe 2 good nurses. The head of the place is a complete idiot. Don't know how he got his job
Meshelly Jelly (Mitchie Pooh): Horrible service first time patient went in for severe problem with my health tell me it's my weight....... Yeah went for a second opinion to the hospital diagnosed me with a a severe infection my weight was never mentioned they rush you and miss diagnose you, honestly can care less lazy practitioner (did the same tests hospital did.... Came back with the problem ohh but there results for my doctor came back I was fine bs)......do not waste your time here if you know there's something wrong with you listen to your gut go to the hospital they help and have more concern for you.
