Hillside is perfect for viewing events at Belknap Park.
john krueger: Great views of the city, Grand River and the sunset to the west. Parking is only on the street and can be hard to come by.Have heard that the park is not the safest later at night from those that live in town.

Bill Cleveland: Lookout park has great views of Grand Rapids. Good to go at a low demand time due to scarce parking. Stairs on the south side going down to the bottom of the hill sufficiently decrepit that it is barricaded off. Short walks on top of hill with longer walks possible at the bottom of the hill. Nice ball fields and the hill leading down to them shows great potential for sledding.
Bryon Burnett: I love the views. Some say that it's not a good place to be after dark but I am not intimidated by some reviews and I have never had any problems here

Ms. Kristy Katcha: Lookout park is small but cute, over looks the zoo and John Ball park. There is handicap parking, trails, Pavillion, and playground.
J. McCormick: This is a way understated Park in GR that is always gorgeous, but especially at sunset. Lots of folks bring blankets, picnics, pups - always a good experience lots of neighbors

TRIPPPLEZ: The boardwalk is A+ and my daughter likes the small playground. The atmosphere is calm and the people keep to themselves. Not many homeless beggars over here!

We alerted all the other parents and he scurried off.It's a nice park, just be mindful and aware of your surroundings and where your kids are.

Joanne Sanford: This park is very nice and well kept, there are some homeless people that sleep around the park but they stay to themselves and don't bother anyone. Besides the area that floods when the river gets high this park is great, awesome history and def seen a few Indian ghosts on and around the burial mounds. I really wish they would add a play area for the kids though. Jsn

The walkability around the park on paved paths makes it easy to navigate and experience the views and serenity of the Grand River.

Melissa Bedell: Walked the Reeds Lake Trail with some friends. The route is fine, but a lot of it goes through neighborhood and along sidewalks. Overall, it was an okay trail and seems to be maintained well. This also seems to be a pretty popular spot as the weather was not great, but we still passed lots of people; we had to move over for others pretty often (or move to the street to let them pass).

Mark Kotlarczyk: A favorite place to visit. Family friendly and a large grass open area for sun bathing, reading a book or just a place to take in the lake. Local food and rest rooms, boat launch, but no swimming or sand beach area. Good local curb side parking.

Lisa: This is such a beautiful area. There are covered pavilions and picnic tables, outdoor fitness equipment, sculptures, and of course, the grand river. It may get a little loud on late nights and weekends now that summer is approaching.
