Neil Wakley: I work at SCCM and have been here for nearly 6 years. I am a Physical Therapist Assistant and truly love working with our folks to help them meet their goals for staying independent as long as possible within their homes. My work is very satisfying as I have the opportunity to help our elderly folks proactively avoid falls and costly hospital admissions. Our Therapy Team here is AMAZING and I consider them my work family as well as all of the other PACE team members who work so hard for our participants to meet their goals. SCCM PACE employs many service-oriented people who are committed to making our model of care work for those in need of our services, from home health workers who are the boots on the ground through our health professionals and administrative professionals that form a cohesive team. I can't think of a job that I would get more satisfaction from within my field.

M Janice Courter: I want to tell people that you definitely won't get what you're promised. I don't know that it will change any time soon, even though they are currently looking for a new general manager. They fired the old one.There's not enough staff to be able to get you the promised amenities. There's are no activities, because the activities director quit. The manager was too nasty for her to continue. There's barely any wait staff or kitchen staff for the same reason. There's no housekeeping unless you make a stink. It's been 3 weeks since I've had clean sheets and had my bed changed.The "chef cooked" meals are atrocious. I thought the meals would at least be as good as what I could cook at home, no such luck. Today for supper I ordered a braised chicken thigh. I ended up with a cold, hard, dried up, boneless chicken breast. No vegetable, although there are vegetables on the menu.I am definitely not getting the services for which I'm paying. If this doesn't change soon they will be losing my money.

They're uncared for because and i quote from the manager “ it is independent living, they want help they can go somewhere else “ because my mother was bedridden after surgery and couldn't get her mail.. nobody would bring her mail up to her room out of kindness. She is fed slop?! I showed up one day during lunch delivery and it was disgusting and cold.. Nothing but canned fruit since shes gotten there because she can only have fresh! The on sire caretakers are amazing and the place looks good but behind the scenes it is disgusting what management says and does. and im embarrassed to say i put my mother in a place like this.. please speak to staff and residents before putting a loved one into a new home. Marcia needs to be let go.

Luther Brown: Now I give this place a (2) because of Management and meals. The facility is clean and the onsite Care Givers (Tender Heart, separate company) are the BEST! These ladies make sure the residents under their care are well cared for.It would be better if Management cared about the Residents more and took time to know the needs and limitations. I would also think the dining selections would be better, considering the amount of money they are collecting per resident.There are many other facilities in the area, but this was best at the time. Remember to do onsite visits and talk to the residents and onsite Care Givers, they know the day to day. Feel free to ask any questions.

Dave Berger: Mom has been here about 18 months now. I looked at a bunch of places before choosing the Marquette and could not be happier with the decision. Very clean, food is really good and family is welcome. The staff is caring and they have Tender Hearts, a care facility, on site to assist with additional needs.

Letara Norwood: Some of the people that work there are kinda lazy. They leave phones in patients rooms which makes it hard to have any contact with nurses or patient. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place for anyone without their own phone or for someone who isn't able to care for themselves. I've heard nurse alarms going off for 30+ mins. Hopefully someone doesn't have a emergent situation because they are just slow as molasses

Gwendolyn Hilliard: Had a friend there and he was always dirty and smelled terrible. His diaper would need changing and the nursing assistants would be sitting at the desk talking on the phone or to each other. One had the audacity to actually be filing her fingernails. I would be standing at the desk waiting for assistance and they would act like I wasn't even there. My friends glasses would be dirty and full of dead skin which was peeling from his forehead. His skin would be dry and cracking. He eventually had to be moved to hospice where he passed away. I feel that they are a very poor facility. Take caution before putting your loved one in their hands.

Elizabeth Barnhill: My mother was at the Pines for about 3 months for rehab. In the time she was there, she had some of her clothing, eye glasses, and dentures lost. The facility lost her eye glasses and her dentures. The staff dressed her in clothes that were not her's.I made several attempts to get them the pay for her glasses, after they sent her out of thier facility to get them replaced. She was fitted for a new set of dentures while at the facility. That was in early July 2016. We have never received her teeth and I just paid 376.00 for the lost glasses.Not very responsible with others possessions. I tried several times to get them to remedy the issues after she was released and no one ever contacted me back. I took the eye glass bill to them several times. they stated they would bpay for the lost items and never have.Now my 82 year old mother bears the brunt of the cost to replace her belongs that were lost by the staff of the Pines. Not good business.

Sonya Louise: I was a patient for a very long two days. Looks like it did 30 years ago. It is dirty, old, smells like cigarettes and someplace you leave people you want to forget. It was depressing. STAY AWAY FROM HERE! HORRIBLE PLACE!

Patricia Dixon: My sister was a patient after having stroke and found the facility and staff excellent. My nephew is also there and is being treated like family. I highly recommend the facility.

Ma Peri: Please do not leave the care of your loved ones in the hands of these people! My 89 year old grandmother was there for one week. In that short time, during an unplanned visit from a family member she was found half dressed and left exposed to whoever happened to wander in. More importantly, she came home literally covered in bruises from her head to her legs. She also has a tennis ball sized knot on her black and blue head. They claim she fell from her wheelchair in the late evening, but don't really know because the person assigned to her care was "at lunch". At the very least, they are negligent in the care of the residents. If you have a choice, please don't make it this place!

Desjarae Orczykowski: THIS PLACE DOES NOT TREAT THERE PATIENTS CORRECTLY THEY WILL SABOTAGE APPOINTMENT IF YOU DO ANYTHING THAT WILL MAKE YOU MADE THEY. THEY FORGET TO CHANGE BEDDING. THE CONSTANTLY FORGET TO CHANGE THE BEDDING, THEY WILL LOSE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS BELONGINGS AND CLAIM THAT IT WAS THE FAMILY MEMBERS FAULT EVEN THOUGH THEY FIND IT LATTER IN SOMEONE ELSE'S ROOM. VERY UNORGANIZED. THEY WILL LOSE SUPERSCRIPTION'S, THEY WILL NOT LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS THAT YOU GIVE YOU THEM SPECIFICALLY AND WHEN THEY FORGET TO DO THOSE INSTRUCTIONS THEY WILL AGAIN SAY YOU NEVER TOLD THEM AFTER YOU HAVE PROF THAT YOU DID.THEY DO NOT MONITOR THERE PATIENCE'S CORRECTLY. DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS SUFFER DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Cheryl Demoss: First Light Home Care is a business full of wonderfully caring people! We have been blessed with Chance as a caregiver for my husband who suffers from dementia. There are not enough kind words to say about him and how he cares for my husband. He is kind, compassionate and has the ability to put my husband at ease as he tends to his needs. I believe that this is a true "calling" for Chance, not just a job. He goes over and above what you might expect at every visit.Not only does he care for my husband but he always has a kind uplifting word for me when stress tries to overwhelm me. Thank you, Chance, and First Light Home Care for being such a blessing to our family.

Karen Litos: I don't get these negative reviews, but notice most are from former disgruntled employees. Maybe not meeting the high standards of the company? First Light, Deb and Leatha, have been excellent, completely professional in all respects, reliable and found trustworthy help to match Mom's needs. My mom loves her caregiver, Amy. She has become family to us over the last year and a half. Amy texts me with frequently with updates or concerns, and often surprises Mom with small joys like artwork from her kids or home baked cookies. She is dependable, kind, competent, and has made Mom happy and content even though she is homebound. We adore her and I feel so lucky we found First Light and Amy!!! They were recommend by my neighbor who also used their services for years (and felt the same way about their caregiver).

With my time that I spent working for this company it was nothing but the owner and the ones she liked playing mind games with the employees. To a fact that it was basically minupulation. If you didn't agree to pick up a shift they would take you off the schedule for God knows how long when you have bills to pay or etc. You basically had to wear yourself out in order to get any kind of acknowledgement from them. This company is horrible. If I could donegative 5 stars that is what I would put. So sickening.

Alex Larner: Had them for 4 weeks, and at lease once a week had a no call/no show.They sent a new person each week and every time they had no idea what needed to be done, like they didn't have a file for my father. One of the people that was here was apparently fired for stealing.

I put in 2.5 weeks of work taking care of 3 residents and they only have me down for 2 hours of orientation. They have yet to give me a single penny and I've been waiting to be paid for 4 weeks now!!! The manager Deb Moreland is very unprofessional. When I finally got a hold of her, after multiple calls and messages and texts, she proceeds to tell me I only worked 2 hours, snickered at me and hung up the phone mid conversation and refuses to answer my calls back and sends me to her mailbox!!!! This "business" is a joke and has been reported to BBB. If you or anyone you know has a loved one, please do not leave them in the hands of First Light Home Care!!! God speed for those who trust them to care for their loved ones.

Bonnie Grantham: This company is poorly run. Their employees are not trained. They have an orientation and then are sent to jobs with no idea what to do. They do have some very good aides but those have been trained elsewhere. Their girls are overworked . We had one come from working a 24 hour shift and she was so exhausted she could barely do anything. Of the 3 reviews I see the 2 five star ones are from employees. One of them management. Unless you just need some housework and companionship dont hire this company.

Lori Fruk: My mom was a resident at Bickford West Lansing from July 26, 2016 to January 01, 2021 and received EXCELLENT care. My heart is still with Bickford due to the awesome care mom received. Not only are the residents cared for and loved but also their family. I still go back to visit and are still shown love.Mom really came out of her shell there and I was so proud how active she was.I highly recommend Bickford West Lansing for your loved ones.

lorib: We placed my mom in this facility around April 2021. It was great at first, great care for my mom. My brother and I were very happy with this place. That’s the only reason I gave 2 stars is because it started out nice. Then there was a change in staff. My moms health deteriorated, which is normal for someone with dementia. I would visit once a year as I live in Arizona and not Michigan. My last visit was in November of 2022 for 2 weeks. I was sad to see that the care just wasn’t there anymore. At this time my mom was in bed all the time. No communication to my brother of how poorly she was doing. The aids came in to change her, they did not talk to her at all. Did not explain what they were doing to her, just started to man handle her. I could hear her calling for help in the hallway. Very sad. My mom passed on November 26, 2022. They charged her for Decembers fees with an additional $1000 added to the cost. We’ve tried to reach someone on multiple occasions but you can never reach a live person. You leave a messages and no one calls you back. It’s been almost 3 months and we still don’t have Decembers fees given back. Plus, I think my mom should’ve been moved into the memory care part a while ago but they kept her in the assisted living part and kept raising fees because she needed more care. They should’ve suggested she be moved. It’s all about the money to them. Mom was paying close to $10,000 to be man handled and robbed of her money. I just infuriates me thinking about this place, the money they owe, the untrained staff, the prop you can never get ahold of. I would not put my worst enemy in this place!!!

Robby Lewis: I visit over 100 buildings in Michigan for hospice chaplain services and this building is a top notch facility from staff to the building itself. Such an amazing facility that is a family to all! GREAT place for a loved to to live!!!!
