Grandhaven Living Center: what do users think?
Jinan Ibrahim: The worst place you can work or live in. The management is indescribably bad. They do not respect or appreciate anyone. Many promises without implementation. Exploitation of the employee, in addition to the filth of the place. My only regret is for the Residents. I love them all in an indescribable way.But I have had enough of the lack of respect from the administration. They know themselves and without mentioning names. If you love your family, Ida, do not think of sending them to live there. They will suffer from neglect, lack of hygiene and poor services.3 months of working in this place was one of the worst things that could happen in my life. Employees vabing inside the building, especially the second shift. Some of them disappear during work time.Residents call and no one answers them because they are simply either busy talking, eating or smoking outside the building, in addition toTheir bad response style and unfortunately the administration is fully aware of these matters
Shaniece colon: I use to work here staff doesn’t care about employees or residents especially higher up management is so rude treat staff unfair talk to them rude. Care takers are lazy call lights on for up to 45 mins at times while they finish eating or finish conversation. I loved the residents just not a nice place to work.
SJ DB: Really hard to run a place efficiently when the ED, who has no clinical experience, never comes out of her office.Residents are soaked when first shift comes in because third shift sleeps all night long. Residents are waiting 30mins - 4 hours to be changed on thirds. There’s also a HUGE BED BUG problem going on throughout the facility. They say they’re treating it but they’re really not.
Jon Jacoby: I would stay as far away from this place as possible. Staff is very rude and only want to do as little as they have to. They don't truly have there tenets best interests at heart
Maryj Tetrault: I was very impressed with all that the Grandhaven memory care facility has to offer, especially the lovely rooms with a large sunny window and window seat, caring staff, beautiful grounds with a sidewalk path, and their unique 'neighborhood' concept of the resident's apartments. Most of all, their 'community advisor' and dementia specialist, Olivia, was extremely knowledgeable, kind, accommodating, and genuinely interested in helping me make the best decision for my mother. I would highly recommend that anyone searching for a quality memory care facility, consider Grandhaven.
Julia Roelle: The staff are very young and inexperienced. But they listen and are willing to learn- that has made all the difference in the past few weeks. Most of them are very hard workers and with the kind hearts I have seen, I am happy my mom is there.
glenn miller: Me and my family visited Grandhaven. Olivia showed us all options that could work for our mom & dad. She answered all our questions and concerns of care. She went over and above. She stayed late on a Friday night to show us some other possibilities. She made herself available for questions and any thing else we needed. I recommend you take a long look at all the things Grandhaven Offer’s and ask Olivia any questions or concerns you might have.
Micaela Stevenson: Olivia was absolutely wonderful in coordinating care for my loved one as they aged. I know that they are in wonderful hands. Hoping to use this service again.
Jeanne Gratz: My mother has been residing at Grand Haven Living Center for nearly a year. Despite necessary restrictions due to Covid, I feel she has received quality care. Staff are friendly and caring and available to address any questions or concerns that I may have.I would recommend Grand Haven to anyone who is looking for a safe environment for a loved one.
ERICA GERRED: They had first round of covid vaccines done in house, then say you gotta go out and get the second one. Very expensive and if you apply for assistance for extra cash and are approved they wanna raise your rent and basically take everything you got. Night staff is also lacking in responsibility...
Betty Leonard: My 97 year old father lives in Assisted Living in Grandhaven - he receives the best care of any place he has lived. The meal choices are varied & tasty, the staff is considerate & mindful of each person's preferences & needs. You couldn't make a better choice than Grandhaven for your loved one.
A'Lynne Boles Dukes: The Grandhaven Living Center team is an absolute pleasure to be a part of, WE ARE ALL STARS in our own right! Quality care, teamwork and Christian values are the winning combination!!
linda robinson: I've been with them for many years. A great company to work for! I just love the residents!
yamuna monger: It was great place Around 2014 to 2017. But now , good luck, bulding are empty. Management doesn't care the good employees, they are besty with some, sit and eat together together, listen them only. Doesn't care what you wanted to say. I feel great I don't work any more there, to bring real change. Cooperate has to cut bad employees from top to bottom. I work about 4 years. Previous DRc used to be very supportive but 12/2019, you know what I mean. Just tried to find the mistake and terminate, I didn't hear any bad things for about 4 years until last of December best I suppose to get raise. That's how I was treated.
Monica Kidd: Love this place! Everyone is so friendly and the community has the best parties for the residents!!
Kisha Gonzalez: This is a great Community and the Staff is very helpful and they are like family.
Florence Vandecar: I was very pleased with the level of care my mother received caring and compassionate I was there quite often And seen it first hand

Vista Springs Majestic Bliss: what do users think?
shannon evans: My grandma is here. The keep shutting down for "covid". 2 times this month shut down for weeks at a time and they never notify the family . They will not let you in to check on them. I honestly think it's so families can't see how poorly their loved ones are being cared for. I know it messes with her mental health because she has visitors every week and when that consistency is screwed up, She gets overly confused. That's only 1 patient, I can't imagine how the others feel.
Mark Jaeger: Seems pretty typical for its market. Staff is quite friendly.
Lisa Myers: Beware of sending your loved one to this place. My mother who is a total kidney fail and very weak, was harassed and bullied, she begged me to get her out of there. The lady who runs this place, is very dismissive and she will not talk to you if it doesn't fit in with her time. Also, my mother had to live in an apartment where her roommate died, and no one bothered to clean and disinfect the place. Then they wanted to jack her rent up to 5300 dollars a month because she " was to much work". Again, use extreme caution sending your loved one here
D & L Queen: My mother was there temporarily for 3 weeks in December 2021. They were not making sure she ate, they messed up her medication, they never showered her, and she ended up in the hospital with a urinary tract infection that they never caught . Her health declined fast and she never wanted to get out of bed and they left her there! I think Diamondale nursing and rehab center are in business together because they are worse! My mom ended up there after the hospital stay to try and walk again. I would never used these 2 facilities again!!! Beware they both look really nice and put on a good front.!!’ Also they shut down twice because there employees got Covid. At night the aids sleep and watch tv all night instead of doing there job.
Susan ODell: From the moment that I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The building is well maintained and the care of the residents is definitely 5 star worthy.
Pete Youngs: My mother in-law lives there. They are getting bad service and food. She is supposed to get baths and they are not giving them.. They are cutting protein from their diet. For some residents they get zero protein, they say that their fees don't cover protein. They used to have 2 nurses, they have 0 now for a while. I think that they are doing this, because family can not go in the facility.
Doug Wedley: We too would also recommend highly VSE.Our Dad was taken care of with gentle hands and soft voices by the entire staff. We appreciate the hard work and dedication it took to comfort him in his time there.Thank You,The Richard Wedley Family
Kenneth Logsdon: I have worked over an Year now and the support I have received has been amazing. Management listens to what is needed and values my opining on topics. Working for other company's, many thought my life, the Vista Springs cares about the staff and engages a lot more than I has seen at most company's. Vista Springs has helped me reach my dreams at work and outside of work and has given me the opportunity to dream bigger and look ahead.... Every one here from staff to the people that live here is "family", sharing, caring, every day is so good it makes it worth while to come to work every day.
DarWanda Okenwa: I never thought work could be so rewarding! From the first time you walk into VSE your greeted with a smiling face, refreshments and you become an extension of our family. To know that each day a new family will entrust in me and my staff to provide exceptional care for their loved one, elates me as the Health and Wellness Director.
Jhordan Jackson: I’ve worked here for years and I love it. The community members keep me smiling everyday and the staff is amazing at what they do.
Caitlin and Joseph South: I have been employed at Vista Springs Edgewood for what will be 3 years in August. Since I started I was hesitate about working at VSE, but as time went on and management changed there has been such great improvement! Not only improvements for staff, but for the care of the residents. The staff really truly care about our Community Members and I hear laughter and see smiles every morning I walk into work. I would highly recommend VSE to my friends, family and more! The care that our community members receive is of high quality - do not let these negative reviews make your judgement on our facility and please go check it out yourself!
katie jackson: This place is getting worse by the day. My person has repeatedly asked who her Dr. is that is making medication changes. She has not been told. Yolanda who is in charge retaliates against patients that ask questions about their care. They are not an equal opportunity employer as all staff except one or two are African American. Do not place anyone you care about in their care.
Suzanna: Some staff speak such poor English that they cannot be understood. Staff is totally African AMerican Patients are awakened all night long for medications so they do not get any sleep. Medications run out at times
The Movie Room Aquarium Guy: Love it
TERRY BRIGHTON: My grandma just moved into a 2 bedroom apartment here, staff was very friendly, it looks very clean and updated, will update more once I get a good feel for it..

Robinwood Landing: what do users think?
Harmony Nowlin: Our family has been SO happy with the care and love Robinwood has provided to our loved one. We were previously at a different facility and very frustrated. Robinwood Landing has been an answer to prayers. They are very professional and on top of everything. Such a relief to families! Thank you to the Robinwood Team! I strongly recommend this facility for anyones loved ones!
Joellen Abbott: We absolutely LOVE Robinwood Landing for our mother! Everyone is so kind and compassionate and very caring! The facility is very clean with an 'at home' feeling. They have taken very good care of mom while she struggles with this horrible disease called 'dementia'. I highly recommend them!
Jennifer Brown: We have had such a positive experience at Robinwood Landing. Staff is extremely responsive, always available and the admin staff is highly communicative. My father never waits more than 10 minutes when his call light goes on and the techs are skilled and patient in working with him. I watch them with other residents and the staff seems to genuinely care for the residents, treating them with dignity and helping them to feel safe and loved. The price was pretty average, but lower than a few other places.
Valerie Klasko: I am a Robinwood Landing (RWL) family member, as Mom is a resident. The staff is hardworking, loving and understanding. It is an emotional journey watching our loved ones decline with Alzheimers. Even when Mom doesn't want to participate or is confused and scared, the staff is kind and caring reassuring all they are Safe and Loved. The staff works constantly to make RWL a really nice place. Great leadership and staff. Thank you Team RWL for taking care of Mom and all the residents on their final journey. Peace and Love, Val
Theresa Hnilicka: My husband has been a resident for almost 6 months. He is very well taken care of. The staff and administrators are phenomenal and always accessible to communicate and problem solve . I would highly recommend this facility.
Karen Hartigan: Robinwood Landing has been the best facility for my mom. The one thing she has been consistent is "they take such good care of me" and at 86 that's what you want to hear. There is so much love between the staff and the residents and somehow they even know the families. I thank them frequently for taking such good care of my mom. They treat her like she is one of their own family and they are never too busy to talk to you and tell you how mom is doing and they listen to your concerns.
Chelsea Nowlin: We have been very pleased with the level of care my dad has received at Robinwood. The staff genuinely cares about him and goes extra lengths to make him comfortable and meet his needs. The director is exceptional and was so helpful during the difficult process of finding a place for my dad. I feel peace knowing my dad is in good hands!
Rob Potts: My brother is well taken care of and the staff is attentive and caring. We are thankful we were able to have David live at Robinwood Landing. Staff is top notch!!!
Ian T. Woodward: Fantastic support not only for their guests but also for the families. We depend on the team for so much and they never fail. We genuinely could not be more satisfied or more grateful.
Benjamin Fulger: Robinwood Landing is a tremendous facility, that you can rest easy knowing your loved one is residing at. The staff are all friendly, and try to have a personal relationship with each resident there. The facility is very clean, does not smell like some facilities do, and they have countless activities available for the residents. It was a blessing to find Robinwood Landing when we were searching for facilities. At a time when we had to make one of the hardest decisions, we are able to sleep better knowing our loved one is receiving great care at Robinwood Landing.
Ronald Beaton: Our Mother, Lois, was a resident for a little over 2 years. She moved in during the height of the Pandemic. She was expected to maybe live for 3 months but due to the excellent care she received she lived until August 5, 2022. She was happy, content and loved until she passed. Thank you Robinwood Landing for maintaining her quality of life and supporting us, her family, through her journey. Ronald Beaton and Family
Robert Byrnes: Great memory care facility, all staff are very loving. I was surprised how well our family member has done here. They are the best.
Susanne Graft: My husband Gary is extremely well taken care of. The compassion and understanding shown to him I am so very grateful for. The professionalismand kindness from all staff is apparent from the moment you walk in the door.I want to Thank each and everyone of you! I am so very grateful! ♥️
Linda Jeruzal: I am the activity director at Robinwood Landing.Ive been an employee since the day we opened! I take my role very seriously. I plan and offer daily activities for ALL of our residents, no matter their level of dementia! My team and I offer fun, laughter, and MEANINGFUL MOMENTS to each and every resident! I LOVE my job, I LOVE what I do! My team members and my Administrater Marie Lynn Wieland are simply the best!! The JEA company TRUELY gets and supports people with Dementia. I am TRUELY blessed to work for Robinwood! Did I mention...I LOVE MY JOB!!?????👍😺
Doris Bancroft: My father has been at Robinwood Landing for over a year now. This is his fourth home in his journey with Alzheimer’s and by far the best. The staff go above and beyond to care for and make the residents and family feel loved and valued. Robinwood has an exceptional activities department that creates great joy for all in the home. They have remarkable leadership that listens to and works with families. They truly go the extra mile! My family could not recommend a better home for Alzheimer’s than Robinwood Landing of Lansing.
Terrie Snow: My mother has been living there since close to their opening. The staff has taken great care of her even in this COVID pandemic. Its hard not being able to visit her, but we know she is well cared for by everyone. They do have iPad availability for visits. I'm a nurse and I was so impressed by their care plan for my mom. It describes her to a T and how to best take care of her. Marie is an amazing manager and the staff is top notch.
Sheila Rolandson: My mother-in-law had previous lived in a facility where the price kept going up and up depending upon her needs and she was very unhappy and bored there. Somebody told us about Robinwood. They provide an all-inclusive price (except minimal fee for incontinence) regardless of a person's deficits. My mother-in-law spent the law five months of her life at Robinwood and it was the best five months in her three-year struggle with Alzheimers. The staff was GREAT and CARING! My mother now suffers from dementia and we didn't even explore other options. She now lives in a caring home at Robinwood. Thanks for all you do.
gloria stragier: My husband has been a resident at Robinwood Landing for over a year. He is very happy there. All the Robinwood Landing rooms are nicely decorated and well maintained. It is a warm and inviting environment. The staff are wonderful - they do everything they can to provide loving and compassionate care for residents. Each resident has unique needs andthe staff make every effort to meet those needs and make the resident feel special. The activities staff are exceptional. They encourage all residents to participate according to their ability. The activities are imaginative, fun and create wonderful “new” memories. There are monthly meetings to keep family updated regarding their loved one, as well as monthly support meetings to help family deal with this very difficult time.I highly recommend Robinwood Landing if your loved one needs memory care.
Sue Hlavaty: My mother-in-law is a resident at Robinwood. The facility and staff are the best. The staff is very patient and caring! They have many activities to keep the residents engaged even during this time of isolation due to Covid 19. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a Memory Care facility!

Bickford of West Lansing: what do users think?
Robert A Laity: We've been trying for four months to get a refund. Unable to reach anyone at the corporate office and the local Bickford does not handle refunds.
Steve B: Strongly recommend this place.. Housekeepers here truly treat people with kindness. The food was amazing.. I believe the young ladies name was Cece was our helper. She was so nice to us. Strongly recommend this place 👌
Lori Fruk: My mom was a resident at Bickford West Lansing from July 26, 2016 to January 01, 2021 and received EXCELLENT care. My heart is still with Bickford due to the awesome care mom received. Not only are the residents cared for and loved but also their family. I still go back to visit and are still shown love.Mom really came out of her shell there and I was so proud how active she was.I highly recommend Bickford West Lansing for your loved ones.
lorib: We placed my mom in this facility around April 2021. It was great at first, great care for my mom. My brother and I were very happy with this place. That’s the only reason I gave 2 stars is because it started out nice. Then there was a change in staff. My moms health deteriorated, which is normal for someone with dementia. I would visit once a year as I live in Arizona and not Michigan. My last visit was in November of 2022 for 2 weeks. I was sad to see that the care just wasn’t there anymore. At this time my mom was in bed all the time. No communication to my brother of how poorly she was doing. The aids came in to change her, they did not talk to her at all. Did not explain what they were doing to her, just started to man handle her. I could hear her calling for help in the hallway. Very sad. My mom passed on November 26, 2022. They charged her for Decembers fees with an additional $1000 added to the cost. We’ve tried to reach someone on multiple occasions but you can never reach a live person. You leave a messages and no one calls you back. It’s been almost 3 months and we still don’t have Decembers fees given back. Plus, I think my mom should’ve been moved into the memory care part a while ago but they kept her in the assisted living part and kept raising fees because she needed more care. They should’ve suggested she be moved. It’s all about the money to them. Mom was paying close to $10,000 to be man handled and robbed of her money. I just infuriates me thinking about this place, the money they owe, the untrained staff, the prop you can never get ahold of. I would not put my worst enemy in this place!!!
Jeremiah Johnson: Great staff, Great Residents, Great Times!!!!
Robby Lewis: I visit over 100 buildings in Michigan for hospice chaplain services and this building is a top notch facility from staff to the building itself. Such an amazing facility that is a family to all! GREAT place for a loved to to live!!!!

The Willows at East Lansing: what do users think?
Lala: Firing loyal employees for not getting the DEATH POKE is a despicable brand of LOW. We live in AMERICA, where we value freedom and Liberty. Where our choices are not yet dictated by anyone but ourselves. I truly hope your clients see just how despicable you are.
marcos barrera: Yup
M G: My father was at the Willows of East Lansing for about 7 months and just recently passed away. He absolutely loved it there! The staff are so kind and attentive and the place is clean and very well run! It gave me such peace of mind to know that he was there and happy. I would absolutely recommend the Willows to anyone who's looking for a place for their loved one!
Ody Norkin: Our family has been fortunate to have friends and family reside at both the East Lansing and Okemos Willows over the past few years.  I have also been able to compare other facilities since my mother lived with us for her final 12 years and sadly sustained several falls at home during that period (so rehab. each time etc).I can attest that our experience with The Willows has been one of 100% satisfaction.  It is an impressive organization.  The challenge of moving into a rehab or long term care unit are obvious (and we all need to acknowledge these challenges).   But The Willows is truly a class act in dealing with healing and nervous patience, yet the term "caring" is not just a motto here.  Also keep in mind that rehab rooms/beds are often hard to come by (just when you need them) but if you are fortunate enough to find availability at The Willows, your family as a whole will be in "good hands".
Joe Osypczuk: I have very high regards for the Willows of East Lansing based on some personal experience. I am somewhat shocked at some of the negative reviews I have read as I find it hard to believe what others are posting -believe me, those experiences did not happen to me. I had a Mother-In-Law that spent a considerable amount of time in the Legacy wing due to her battle with Alzheimer's. I know that she was difficult for the staff to deal with as the Alzheimer's brought out the worse in her but they still did everything they could to help her navigate through her ordeal. I stopped in for a visit quite often (as did my wife) and always found her to be well taken care of.Unfortunately, after my Mother-In-Law had passed away, my Father-In-Law also faced a dilemma and had to be admitted into the Long Term portion of the Willows of East Lansing. He was also treated very well by everyone on the staff and enjoyed the attention that was given to him. He really looked forward to the "Happy Hour" that occured weekly. Once again, nothing but good things to say about the facility.I noticed that many comments were made about the food being served at the facility being terrible. We (as well as our other family members) found that to be the direct opposite. We stopped in many times to have a breakfast, lunch or dinner with our loved ones and even took time to visit them during the Sunday brunches. Again, the food was excellent!I currently have two elderly friends that have been staying at the Willows. One is in the Long Term Care area and the other is in the Legacy Care area. Both have been at the Willows for a long time and both are very happy with their care and, they both love the food that is being served. So with all this being said, I would not hesitate to recommend the Willows of East Lansing to any of my friends and family members.
Morgan C: Imagine your Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa in a facility you've placed your complete faith and trust in. Now imagine that loved one going hungry because meals are late, imagine them being talked down to, laying on the floor alone....no help....their repeated emergency call buttons being ignored, or your loved one having a mini-stroke and desperately pressing the call button only for no one to come and help you. That about sums up everything you can expect out of this facility. Unless you want to drop your loved one off to die, avoid this awful place at all costs.
Monica Ortiz: The willows Legacy is a Great place to have your love one stay . Legacy Dementia unit is a separate building where your love one can have their home away from home . They Treat you and your love ones like family . Legacy has a Great activity program where the activities are used to help their minds and motion . Please stop by and take a tour of this wonderful place . I highly recommend it .
chris oconner: The willows is a wonderful place great staff employee friendly they all work together as a team the director is very friendly as well just overall a great place I would recommend it to anybody That wants their family well taken care of
G-Three gmoney: Great staff!! Willing to do a lot to make it more comfortable!
Kathy Mroz: The Willows at East Lansing has the most caring staff! Highly recommend for Short-Term Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, Assisted Living or Memory Care.
Staci Fillingham: My grandpa was here and the care he received from the rehab to end of life was amazing! The willows treated him with dignity and respect. Thank you to the staff for keeping him comfortable and helping our family with such a difficult time
Christy Swope: The Willows is an outstanding place to work. They truly value their employees and put the residents needs above all else. I am honored to work here and love serving the residents each and every day.
Michelle Munson-McCorry: The food is horrible create my mother has gotten horrible care. Related to lack of staffing. One home health aide on for 16 people. My mom left on the toilet for 40 minutes while an aide gave someone a shower. After speaking to administration saw no positive results. Forgot to give her dinner one night until 9:30 p.m. Perfect place to settle relative you don't love.
Lauren Hagerman: Very disappointing care of my grandmother and lack of requested communication for my parents who are not in state and were not able to come regularly to check in. We understand the decline of someone with Alzheimer's can be difficult to care for, however, this is exactly what this facility is supposed to specialize in.
Sheila Stutz: My mother was there not long ago I offered to volunteer and I just got given to this and that person and put on hold for a long time but I made it clear I wanted to talk to Janelle Palles!
Darren KIMBROUGH: Not enough staff on board
Greg Kueppers: Very under staff and constant turn over causing poor patient care. Poor communication with administration they would not return calls or follow through. Would not recommend
William Henderson: Beautiful facility, dramatically understaffed. Very uncooperative with insurance paperwork. Things like a plugged toilet take days to resolve.
Lorraine Osypczuk: We ended up having to put both of my parents in The Willows of East Lansing at different times. My mom was in the dementia part and my dad in the main health care building. They were both taken good care of. I would highly recommend The Willows of East Lansing. The staff are all very well trained and wonderful with the patients.
Joycie FS: Fantastic above and beyond excellent care for my precious mom. Staff went out of the way to find and make her favorite fish meal. When I needed call button, staff came immediately to help! The Willows respects religious choices! Staff were welcoming to all of us, and even made our visiting pets welcome! This was in 2015, and I still and always will brag about the Willows at East Lansing! ....Gratefully, Joycie
Jeanne Kain: The Willows provided excellent care for my mother. I could not have asked for more, the staff, the accommodations and the atmosphere were wonderful. I am so thankful for all they did for my Mom.

Independence Village of East Lansing: what do users think?
Carrie Hill: The place is great for Mom. The food leaves a lot to be desired.
FIRST SGT: Friendly knowledgable staff, answered all question
Marc Thomas: Marvelous place for its residents. My mom has lived for almost two years. It's a safe place (including during COVID) and has good service and activities.
jim witte: My parents felt right at home at Independence Village. The staff and residents are welcoming, gracious and friendly.
Michael Sheridan: My father moved into Independence Village in December of 2020. Like many people who have to make arrangements for elderly parents, I was nervous. Moving to Independence Village was the perfect place for my dad to live. I have been so impressed with the kindness and concern I have witnessed for the residents from all of the staff in every department. As an example in July the staff arranged for us to have a birthday party for my father. They served a meal and a special birthday cake for all of us to enjoy. There are lots of activities available for residents. Since my father is a bit of a loner, the staff reaches out to him to get him involved. I have even received pictures showing my 96 year old father playing a version of volley ball. Having my father at Independence Village has provide our family peace of mind knowing that the staff truly cares about him and has his welfare in mind.
Paul Gonzales: Independence Village of East Lansing has been a wonderful place for my mother over these past 5 years. Maggie Quinn is an outstanding Director who leads by example. She is very visible around the facility and always has a smile and time for a quick word for residents and visitors. She has developed a friendly, caring and helpful team. We were treated with kindness and respect and as they welcomed my mother to their community. Everything we were told about the facility including cost, programs and what we could expect, happened just like we were told, no surprises at all. This honesty and openness has been consistent throughout the years.
Carolyn Sinder: My mom had many happy years here until she needed assisted living. She enjoyed all the staff and enjoyed her many friends. All staff were kind and supportive. My family appreciated the steps the staff took to keep residents safe during covid. I am very grateful to everyone at Independence Village for their kindness even as we moved her out of IVEL.
Julia Hernandez: Went up this past weekend, and ate with Dad.. the servers we very attentive and the food very delicious.. Generous servings and well cooked.
Julie Niswonger: Everyone needs a place to live
Maggie Quinn: Great place to work and even better place to live.
Linda Mummaw: Highly recommend Independence Village of East Lansing. The staff is caring, supportive and adaptable. They work tirelessly to engage residents, offer activities, socialization and decent meals.
Sharon Tuma: My 96 year old very active Mother loves living at Independence Village. She loves all the activities that they offer because she loves being busy. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The maintenance man is amazing. He goes above and beyond by coming in on his day off if he is needed. I highly recommend Independence Village if you are looking for a safe, reliable home for your loved one.
Chuck Theis: I have had elderly relatives and friends spend their retirement years at a number of places in the East Lansing area. Suffice to say, none of them have been as good as Independence Village in East Lansing, MI.Under the excellent leadership of Maggie Quinn, they have been a leader in how they have treated residents during the Covid pandemic. While other places have experienced many cases of Covid, Independence Village has had very few cases. While they have followed State Regulations, they let visitors in when possible and worked to keep residents socially and mentally active. As a result, their residents have stayed remarkably healthy during this challenging time.I believe that the staff functions as a team and that they genuinely care for their residents. It is a pleasure to visit Independence Village in East Lansing and when you can't visit, you are confident that your loved ones are in good care!
Denise Nester: I cannot thank Maggie and her wonderful team at IVEL enough for all they do to keep the residents safe and to care for them in a loving and positive manner. Both my mom and dad reside there, and I am grateful for this everyday!
Doug Mason: We selected this location after looking at several in the area, it seems to be the best balance between independence and well managed. The ED Maggie did an amazing job at keeping all the residents free of Covid-19 in a state that was one of the worst and within a vulnerable population. She is deservedly well respected by the guests and families. We were kept updated on a weekly basis and when the vaccine became available, the residents were the first in line and had it completed onsite. My mom is always happy, there are lots of social activities, you can be involved or not as much as you want. The apartments are nice. The in-house dining serves three meals a day, I've come in as a guest for a few and thought they were great. It's all the efficiency of a big organization residence with the soft-touch Midwestern care that I appreciate.
Shad B.: Did not seem very clean or welcoming. Will find somewhere else for granny!
K P: My mom's health declined greatly just as COVID-19 started spreading. I had to choose an independent living facility for my mom based solely on reviews, word of mouth, and talking to workers. I was incredibly nervous since I'd read negative reviews. But my mom is enjoying it and the staff has been so kind. Mom was quarentined in her room for 2 weeks, but the staff checked on and visited her regularly. None of this was expected, they just wanted to make sure mom was aclimating well. During this stressful time, the staff has been incredibly supportive, kind, and accommodating. The staff cares about their residents and in this time of stress and so many unknowns, that is clear.
John Howell: Friendly helpful staff. Very nicely appointed rooms
Brookie_ Pooh: Staff is great. The rooms could be bigger though. My grandma will be loving here.
Judy Jones: My parents have been taken care of in a responsible and caring fashion at Independence Village. Maggie is an outstanding Executive Director and her calm leadership during the Stay at Home order has kept her clients as safe as possible. I truly appreciate all of the extra time she took with my parents, especially my dad who is a grumpy old man. They have since moved to a facility more in tune with my mother's specific needs but I am grateful for the team at Independence Village. Thank You!
Laura Jimenez-Bonney: The residents are wonderful! Many of them are not happy with the meal options and taste of the food, but overall, they are pleased with their surroundings.
