Burke Lake Banding Station: what do users think?
Ellen Crombie: We went here for a class field trip since we were studying birds. Each kid got to hold and release a bird. The staff clearly does a lot of field trips for kids because they were phenomenal. They were fun and informative. My students loved this field trip! I highly recommend it!
Joe W.: Lovely place, great area to check out native animals and plants of michigan that you might not get to see elsewhere! Bring the binos and the iNat theres a lot to see
Eli Ross: I went there and saw real birds it was amazing a Robin even tried to attack me 😂. 5/5 amazing!
Ira Sanborn: Amazing experience! Saw a ton of birds! Highly recommended for adults and kids alike.
Robert Blank: Great people taking pride in the care of these wild birds. Great experience.
Siddharth Chandra: Great place for kids and adults alike. The team is very welcoming and committed to research and community outreach. One of my favorite things to do in the Lansing area.
Erica Scherger: Wonderful morning spent with the birds! The workers and volunteers here are so nice. Very educational too!
M Kowalewsky: What a gem! We are homeschoolers and frequent visitors to Burke Lake. This place is perfect for learning, observing, and experiencing all things bird. Great way to see local birds that don't frequent backyard feeders. We recommend going a few times as different birds migrate throughout the time the station is open. Guaranteed to see and release from your hands some amazing birds.Very family friendly! The kind staff are truly a highlight. They are very willing to engage small children and share their joy about birds. The staff make you feel welcome and help create a truly delightful experience. My bird enthusiast daughter says this is one of her very favorite places to be. We are so fortunate to have this unique resource. Don't wait, get up early and go!
Adrian Oesch: Come out and enjoy nature and birds. Watch them catch and band.
Nate Michaluk: Great place to come learn about birbs and see them up close! Be sure to check their website for hours before visiting.
Jan Bernsten: This is a great place to observe birds passing through our area in the spring and fall. You can see the birds being banded up close and even be the one to let a bird back into the wild. Go to their website for more information.
Jan Green: Great place to visit! The staff members are very knowledgeable and informative. You get an up-close, hands-on bird encounter. As a lifelong birder I can say I learned many new things today. I can't wait to go back in the fall, which they said is their busy season. Highly recommended for any bird lover.
bob smith: I was first introduced to the Burke Lake Banding team at the MSU Science Festival. The team was great, kept the interest of not just my Girl Scout Troop but also mine too! They were helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly too. You know they're passionate when they still show interest in educating others even after days of saying the same thing over and over to 10,000 people roaming around the campus. At the festival I was lucky enough to get a card and invited out to one of their banding sessions. It was a blast, short hike, followed by the opportunity to see quite a few birds. Even barring any uber rare birds, it was still a blast to witness and interact with the team and the other birders. For what it is worth, I wouldn't consider myself a birder, but still enjoyed the experience immensely.

Baker Woodlot and Rajendra Neotropical Migrant Bird Sanctuary: what do users think?
maria wong: 2 entrance 1 in Farm lane 1 in Bogue streetAccess by foot only.A well kept & clean path ! Trail are clear and you can explore alternative path that leads to a longer distance.I took the outer ring path and it was only 2 miles loop.
James Van Antwerp: Beautiful! A nice place to walk
Jakob Petrik: Great spot to "get lost" on campus and enjoy some wilderness. You can also listen to the trains come by semi frequently, if that doesn't bother you. I've seen deer and bucks in the park at night, even getting 20 feet from one before noticing it and nearly crapping my pants. My one complaint would be that it's somewhat difficult to get to the entrances without a car if you're coming from campus.
Brandon Ewert: If you like trees, this is THE best spot on MSU's campus. It's a small Beech-Maple forest left untouched for over 100 years. There are some truly massive Red Oaks, Beech, and Cherry trees.
Brandy Muzzy: It’s a great hidden place on campus, I didn’t know it existed until a few days ago and it’s like a little slice of the country among the hustle and bustle of the university. It’s quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend a walk through it to listen to the birds.
Christopher VW: Great place to hike. I just wish they could set aside a few parking spaces for use during the day here.
Eric Eding: A really nice place to hike hidden in MSU campus. One of the only old growth forest still standing in lower Michigan!
Rach H: Some swampy areas on south side, but otherwise a nice place for a walk. 1.15 miles around the outside trail.
Eric Fischer: Wowee

Crego Park: what do users think?

Brian Bridson: There were only 2 picnic tables (that we saw) and they were were filthy. Nice view of the pond.
Sarah: I loved this park even before the walkways and improvements, great if u love nature or taking walks with or without ur furry animal, picnic tables, kayak launch, fishing, bird watching, access to the river walk, even off beaten trails in the woods. They have a porter Potter for restrooms.

Brenke Fish Ladder: what do users think?
Jeff Allshouse: Very NICE PLACE to VISIT !
frank zhao: Good size rock bass and small mouth bass
Jason Frye: They need to remove the graffiti by some other means than painting over it. Painting over it looks just as bad.
Debra Kipper: Nice. Clean .We had good time .
Steve B: Always love coming down here for lunch or with the family. The sound of the dam is soothing.Dog-friendliness: There are plenty of places here for the dog to run on leashPicnic area: There is a small picnic table that you can enjoy your lunch at near the dam
Austin Singhoffer: Great local fishing spot and trails. It’s convenient to swing by and throw some lines in for a hour or so. For better fishing bring your waders and make your way up the center of the river working the banks on both sides.I wish Lansing would take care of the trash and broken bottles to make it more friendly for families and anglers.
Eric Robinson: Wierd
Nicole Leonard: Very interesting and beautiful piece of engineering that I never realized was there in all my years of visiting Lansing. It's located along the Lansing River Trail and so it's very accessible whether you're on foot or riding a bike. There's also a few benches in case you need a break or even a little picnic. 😊
Crystal Swank: There was some garbage on the ground but it's a nice place to walk around nice views and it wasn't to crowded
Alice Wilson: This is a great park in the heart of Lansing. Super easy walk and something different to see :)
Kevin Manley: Interesting
JR Banks: Fun
Bill Bennett: Love to watch the salmon swim up the ladder.
Jim Bahr: I start my commute to work here and it ends here. Nice little park and the river trail is great.
Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti: Creepy and smelly looks like a place where dead bodies wash ashore. Hobos and bums milling about with sketchy car that had a giant plume of smoke from the Jazz Cabbage.
Dan koch: Concept is cool, but it just shows you how dirty the water is. The design seems poorly implemented as well, idk how many fish would be able to make it up this with the exception of full size salmon or something, but they could probably just make it over the small dam. This is excellent torture device for frogs though. Went here with my gf and we found multiple frogs stuck in the fish ladder getting swirled around and thrown into the walls repeatedly.
Dan Todd: Nice walking path and river view
Matthew Ordiway: No Salmon yet. Paid parking prior to 6PM. I didn't feel comfortable having my kids with me in the daylight. Homeless people nodded out, not a good place to go unarmed.
Jim Suttles: Peaceful and quiet, excellent place to sit and think/clear your head.
Alan Wake: Very scenic and Pokemon Go Stops
Nicole McCauley: Nice

Fenner Nature Center: what do users think?
Ski Going: Great place to visit. Also it's a nice refreshing place to get married at.Dog-friendliness: Pet friendly
Rose Brown: My first time there and I took my next door neighbor and she was schooling me on all the nature she was seeing. She took her kids there when they were little and her grandkids. Now she has the pleasure of taking her great grandkids. I look forward to taking my granddaughter there to see nature. We will be even more excited to the 🦋🦋 when they start arriving. If you have never been there it's a good place to take the kids, have a picnic lunch and what's also great about it is, that it's free! Who doesn't like FREE 😄.
Jerry T Johnson: Wounderful
Angela Levack Michael: A slice of heaven in the city! Beautiful trails, not overly crowded, we love Fenner!
Crystal Simmer: Loved it when they had fish. 🤷‍♀️
David Hranac (Marcus yallow): A Great place to take pictures and leaf only memories.
Sosha Knapp: Peaceful well loved area
Michael Spencer: Fantastic get away, 5 minutes from my workplace....nice wind down for lunchtime.
jim: really dirty
David McFarlane: Turtles out today!
Joel Gerring: This is a very nice place to take in the natural beauty of the area, but be forewarned, if you’re looking for a facility to have a retreat or meeting where conversation and learning can occur, the Susan & Jack Davis Nature Pavilion is not suitable. Very poor acoustics (echoey), a noisy heating system, and very loud bathroom hand dryers are a constant source of distraction for both presenters and audience members.I’m not sure if the park advertises this facility as one that can be used for speaking engagements, but it was most definitely not designed with that use in mind.
Jenny Keihl: One of my favorite places to take a walk.
Ricky Longacre: A good place to walk the trails. Maybe a mile + of trails. Very nice.
Austin Alexander: A nice combination of terrain and opportunity to see trees, open areas, and a variety of wildlife
Sarah Hillman: Fenner is great. A beautiful place to walk and enjoy the birds and the trees and the open sky. Also, my sister rented the conference center for a huge babyshower and the spot was lovely. Great views, lots of windows and light, nice big open floor plan. A lovely spot for a function.
Tiffany Gravier: Wonderful place for the whole family :)
Coqui Ta: Beautiful and clean trails.
Jeremy Hartsock: Heard a Bard Owl 🦉
Phil Damico: Always awesome. Beautiful peaceful place to visit. Good place to get your inner zen on or for clearing your mind or just enjoying nature. Who doesn't like a park place on a sunny day?
Alyssa Slocombe: There are beautiful nature trails. The fall colors were breathtaking. I liked the fact that we walked on the ground and not on the pavement that s the way a natural trail should be. This place was clean and you can tell they take pride in their park. I was impressed at how well they maintained everything.
Sally Cremeans: Very rustic ,but nice trails

Anderson Nature Park: what do users think?
Jennell Long (Jennell Quinn): Nature in town
Adam Simmer: Some of the best hiking trails in Lansing.
Brandon Ewert: My favorite MTB trails in the area. The MMMBA volunteers keep them well maintained.
Alyssa Slocombe: This is my favorite nature park so far. There was alot of bikes on the trails. It was very interesting. We saw limbs that were growing up and connecting to other trees simply amazing . No restrooms or pay are for kids. Nature at it's finest
eduardo maceo: Beautiful place for take photos 😍
Ryan Brooke: This park is like a slice of butter melting on a big ol pile of flapjacks. Smooth. Makes the emotions go doot do da doot dooo. We need to let everyone know and talk to people to get it out. Shout out at the rooftops. It is great! It's the bees knees item 9! I am serious. Get out and try it before they make it illegal.
jenny jones: Nice trails, more of a bike trail than a walking one. Paths are very narrow!
Troy Hale: I was very shocked that I didn't know about this place. I've lived here for 14 years... and this was 7 miles away! Really nice rides... highly recommend.
Chris Watkins: Beautiful park for hiking biking fishing and peace and quiet. And no Park in the state of Michigan is open 24 hours a day parks open at sunrise and close at sunset.
Elya Zand: It’s a nice park, great scenery, clean for the most part and it runs by the river. Only downside is that it can be a bit sketchy here. Had some random guy ask me if I knew where the shrooms are at while I was walking my dog. Some other weird things here too
Kristin Isaac: Great time. Kind of sketchy, lol, but really beautiful trails.
baby jay: Very quiet and beautiful
Pieter Hoekstra: Good quick trailer. The parks dept should open the south end to cycling as well.
Darr Hoag: A hidden gem, donated by the daughter of Ransom Eli Olds, Gladys Olds Anderson.
Richard Gilchrist: Great hiking trails. Looks like they are set up for off road bicycles.
Patrick MacKillop: What a hidden gem. Very fun trails with some excellent features. Really fun
Ericka Wood: I really like this place! Great for mountain biking. Little jumps and Curves in the trails. Well-maintained and clean. Three or four main trails. Wooded area. A decent Trail to walk with the kids that's secluded
Trevor Youngquist: A great hidden, rustic hiking experience. Can be muddy after a steady rain
Anndee Czech: It's a pretty nice place to hike. The trails are decently marked but the cut overs are not. Enough parking for about 6 vehicles. From the map at the trail head I thought I would see more water inside the trails but mostly swap areas. I can see how this would be a great mountain bike place.
Zachary Clough (NapoleontheLesser): Lots of hiking and biking trails. Mostly bikes, but there's no restrictions to pedestrian hiking on the bike trails. Just keep an eye/ear out for cyclists. Or pedestrians if you're biking.
James Mathews: Beautiful park
