Lansing Parks & Recreation: what do users think?
Steve Rogers: Friendly staff
James Hunzicker: Maybe unlock some bathrooms at your parks so people aren't soiling them with human waste matter???Also, it is June. How about turning on some water fountains???
Bloomin in Kindness: My kids have some wonderful experiences through the many programs that are offered.
ttall yar: Lots of activities. Friendly staff!
Jennifer Bingham: My kids went to camp here for a couple weeks and then my son got booted for “behavior issues”.My son is on the autism spectrum which was notified to them upfront and in person. They chose to kick him out of camp at the end of a tues and not allow him back for some behavior issues. Understandable if they can’t train their staff well enough to handle all kids. They would not respond to emails from me or my husband or answer the phone for the person I was directed to about getting a refund. So they kept a full weeks fee for camp and after care for both my children when they wouldn’t allow them back. Both kids were super disappointed and heart broken. I had to find last min child care and miss work due to not being able to find anything. My daughter couldn’t go back because I couldn’t take them to separate child care. They also talked negative about my son right in front of him and expected my daughter to have intervened with the behaviors and referred to her just sitting there. She’s 7! We had just moved to Michigan and this is the first impressions we got. Sad that other children who were causing issues and biting were allowed to still come but not my son for his issues.
Virginia Workman: Kids had a blast very clean and in a good neighborhood
Melynda Christle: Thelma is a front line worker, working hard to get our school children fed.. She is an amazing lady..
Jesus Saves: BEWARE! Teachers at "Homeschool Days at Foster" are malicious. Gossiping about your kids being your backs, including confidential information. Untrained staff provides subpar instruction to kids and usually have no clue how to manage kids, particularly quirky ones. Programming is what you would expect from a city that doesn't invest dollars into facilities nor communities. Teachers and staff do not communicate effectively to parents.
Sean Eman: Lame
Joe Nehls: Great park but they won't let you bury your pets there so don't even try.
James: Clean building, friendly and helpful staff.
Parabola “Fuk Sheet Up” 100: The TV show is pretty good
Lauren Clarke: Belly dance classes with Garnett are amazing! The opportunity to learn with a professional who has performed and taught all over the United States is priceless! Lots of fun too!
Melanie Rogers: I have enjoyed taking classes through Lansing Parks and Rec since 2000.
Demphna Krikorian: Love the River Trail
Randy Barton: We have had a great experience with the Park's and Rec sports.

Bancroft Park: what do users think?
Beau Brockett: I often hear fellow joggers say that Lansing's pretty flat. If you want hills, go to Bancroft Park! What's more, its paved trail is almost entirely through a forest, and you can extend it out to a field setting by following it to the Groesbeck Drain Park. All told, about 1.3 scenic miles tucked right in the city. My only complaint is that the bathrooms have always been locked, but that's more a critique on the false advertising of "public" restrooms across the US rather than this park alone.
Ryan Kost: The Friends of Bancroft group has done a wonderful job to take management of this park to move it forward when the parks department wouldn't.
melissa jackson: Great place to walk
Victor Lee: Surprising little oasis! Bike trails, playing fields, nice little park.
Trent Thayne: Beautiful walking path through park. Great lookouts of the lakes and ponds as well.
Sarah Wright: Working drinking fountains during the summer months....biking/walking trails and snow sledding in the winter.🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️👣🚲🛴
Terry Spicer: Peaceful and quiet, not crowded. Very well-kept Park
Andrew Lee Garza (Andy): Nice place to walk.
Yvonne McCumber: Another great Lansing area park. Could use more receptacles for dog waste since it is a dog fr park. It would encourage pick up.
Heather Cook: Love the trails
Rebecca Landeros: Was nice picnic area was nasty 2 different cars did drug deals, other than that the park was nice
Kevin Krause: Nice place for a walk
Michael Cook: I loved this place as I have many memories over my fifty seven years of life and Bancroft park was a big part of it!! I have spent many times as a child playing all day long here. The winter full of sledding and ice skating. Summer exploring the woods and creatures that live there. As I became older I would bring my children and grandchildren to enjoy this park. I would go there to relax let my mind rest. We had cook outs, family get togethers. Now I'm restricted to a parking lot at the entrance of the park!I don't know who decided to make a bicycle park out of it? To me the park is no longer family friendly! Who is going to want to carry all of their cook out all the way up to the top? I'm thinking they are doing this so they can sell it to the golf course, like they did with Ormond park!! Please bring the road up around the park back!! I'm on oxygen now and my time outside is limited. I would be out of oxygen before I get to the top!!! I'm a friend of Bancroft and I'm not happy!! Thank you
carter “matthew” moore: Nice park an trails usually see some deer in the far back
Thomas Allen: Very beautiful and serene. A good family spot or good to work out or just chill.
neviah qawee: Has this feeling like your going to die qnd you cant see the park at all
Nicholas Spencer: Amazing but it was rainy
patricia deventer: Nice walking trails but needs someone to pick up the trash left behind by thoughtless people.
Me Felice: The only complaint I could say is not enough people but I dont really mind that either. VERY hilly and today for some reason the waves of my consciousness were felt in full force and having an actual physical effect on the land and trees in the park. Unbelievable.!!!
Vada Jo Pratt: Despite the recent findings of certain DISGUSTING drawings (and words), found throughout the Park, I still gave it 5 Stars, as it is a personal local favorite from my youth.I will say I love how they fixed the parking lot, but highly dislike how you can no longer drive to the playground anymore, so it was a long trip up and down for my disabled & elderly Mom. However, I do understand why it had to be done. People used to drive through there like crazy.I must warn people not to whistle in the park tho, 'cause according to the lil' chalk notes throughout the paths, it says, "whistle to get your d*** s***ed".If you exclude the crudeness of the person who wrote such things, the park itself is beautiful.

Dan Henderson: A nice little park tucked away by the river.
Maria Barbour: I grew up in that Neighborhood, it has changed over the years for sure.
Mandy Block: It's a great neighborhood park
James Fineis: I think the grass at the park should be mowed. A little girl of 1 and a half. Had to wade through it. In the summer the mosquitoes will eat her alive.
Naomi Snyder: No place to be.
Angela “Ang” Calkins: Ok
Rebecca Chapleau: Uneventful
Courtney Gordon: Smallest park around.

Scott Woods Park: what do users think?
Emma Chapman: Beautiful park with lots of different trails and scenery, plus it's a great place to see wildlife.
Dustin Hume: Great place for a stroll, a bike ride, geocaching, or to relax!
Damyon Finch: Great trail, paved, except going to the dog park. Deer are always around. It's nice, and leads to multiple parks, and the zooPlayground: It's bigRestrooms: I've only seen themDog-friendliness: There's a dog park. Soldans Dog park.
Bob VanElslander: Awesome Park. Splash pad, beach area, dog park, paddle boat rentals, and tube rentals for sledding in the winter. The sledding hill has a conveyor belt that takes u up the hill and they make their own snowRestrooms: Full restrooms with showersDog-friendliness: Dog park located within the park
Sylvia Lin: Easy paved trails. In the fall, there are lots of interesting mushrooms near the forest grounds to be found.
Alyssa Slocombe: This was a nice paved trail I saw lots of people on bikes and roller blades. Plenty of space on the trail to share the path. Lots of trees down which made it even more beautiful Picnic area: There was lots of places to stop and sit on the bench or on the ground to have a picnic
Ann Jones: Lots of shade for walking
Waseem Hajjar: Very nice place to visit and enjoy the time there with the family.
W L: Beautiful place
Melissa 906: My favorite park in the area to take my dog and walk. Beautiful anytime of year.
阿列克谢: This park is a low-key hidden gem. It gives off its peculiar serene charm. It’s the back door of the much loved Hawk Island Park. The Lansing river trail is nested through the park. Best for hiking or running to shed off some stress.
Darvale Thomas: Relaxing
Michael D. Picciano: What a incredible place to bring your dog.
Rohit Ratnala: Great park with winding sets of trails through the woods by the river. Very nice dog park nearby with trails that are a bit more wild. There are paved trails frequented by cyclists and walkers, and unpaved parts also good for both but have fewer cyclists. Maps are easy to follow and are by most of the entrances. The trails connect to several parts of the River Trail, go right next to the Cemetery, connect to the Hawk island trails and the ones in Soldan dog park. Very well worth the walk. Beware of the insects(mosquitoes mainly) in the spring and summer. You can avoid the insects by going on windy or dry days.
Liz: My favorite park to access the River Trail
Edward Fountain: Nice trails and beautiful scenery
Tiffany Libiran: Always a nice, well travelled and groomed, predictable area..The mosquitoes are pretty bad here though.. DEFINITELY don't want to forget bug spray. Yikes!
Joseph D T: Lots of canopy and nature. Park in Ruth ave it and enter for free. A spot by the estuary is my favorite
Tony Nobach: Very nicely maintained
Stephanie Riley: I love Scott Woods! You can easily forgot that you are still in the city. But does anyone know what these marks are?

Rotary Park: what do users think?
Aracely Gutierrez: ✨
Trevor Benoit: The lightscape from the Lansing Center to the park is well done and serves to draw you down into the park from Michigan Ave and pull you through to the Shiawassee st. bridge that serves as a space for public art. The dynamic lighting creates a warm and inviting sense of place. We need to see more lighting plans like this in public spaces around Lansing.
Krystasia “Stasi”: We come here often to feed the ducks and enjoy the river trail. Lately, there's been a goose that has a fishing line tied around its foot. Even though the foot is swollen, goose is often alone (they're usually social beings) and can only swim in a circle or at an angle - DNR isn't able to do anything because they're short staffed and its "not a priority because said goose isn't . If you see this goose, help him out!
MrBarney Knows: Always nice and pleasant at night. Nice for couples to chill at.
Steve B: Used to love this place. I would give this place 5 stars but every time I go there seems like the zombies are growing in numbers. Dirty needles everywhereThis place has just turned out to be a new way to pollute our beautiful Grand River and downtown Lansing with several plastic bottles tubes and dirty needles. Beyond this park as a species we must learn how to stop all of the #plasticpollution Just check out the picture we cleaned all of this with my family last month. The city really needs to get on this as well as the people within it. This place really used to be a gem.I would strongly recommend not to use the bathroom here bathroom here FYI.Restrooms: I would strongly recommend not to use the restroom here. Several junkies have been found shooting up or dead inside of this one. It's as if the city thinks that 1 bathroom and only cleaning at once a month is acceptable. This place is turned out to be a shame.Picnic area: One of the best picnic areas in the entire city however has been ruined by the pollution and zombies this place is unsafe to even sit with your children due to the overwhelming amount of dirty needles
Doin the most: The Loop
Alauna Wright: Nice place to chill. Only downside is there’s glass liquor bottles smashed on the ground in random areas sometimes. People like to smoke out there and chill (I don’t mind). Some people feed the ducks some people will kayak and some people will scooter. I like to go out there and scooter or eat food and relax.
M. Syarif (omcalip): Another pretty public space on great Lansing. I spent the weekend with my family to see the river, playing sand, or biking, or just walking.
Jeremy Hegge: My sons favorite place on earth
M: Peace of MIND, in a MAD MAD WORLD
Ethan Evans: Great place to sit by the river next to the walking path.
Rosalind Roberts: Very beautiful and blessed area and very clean *I'm new to the area and I will stop n chill whenever possible.
Jeff Berry: Great place to relax and enjoy a meal!
Jim Fabiano: Went for an outdoor yoga class and it was a perfect setting for it
Abby Dee: Love them all! The views are spectacular the little signs are a great xtra touch watched mother goose protect hers eggs and later her babies
Chad Jordan (Cravings Gourmet Popcorn): Relaxing along the river eating Sleepwalker Pizza
Markesha S: They really made it modern and very comfortable. Love the trails and how they incorporated a sand beach.
kevin waite: Great place to meet and greet, lots of benches with covered areas to block a little sun. Kayak rental booming right now too. You can bike there from anywhere in the city along the river trail.
Tyrus Gray: Beautiful art work
Zack ORiely: Absolutely beautiful. Very social, the city did a great job with this project.
Diana Powell: The walk at rotary park was relaxing. Not many people which made it great for walking the puppies.

Benjamin F. Davis Park: what do users think?
Rodney Maki: Pretty trashy people let their dogs run off their leashes when it's obviously posted that you're not allowed what are the parks in Lansing Michigan have the bathrooms open unless there's a ball game so if you're at any parks in Lansing there's nowhere to go to the bathroom
Alicia Malone: Needs bathrooms open
Stanley Arntson: Of all the parks I have taken the kids to. This park is the worst onePlayground: The toys at the playground area need to be worked on or updated
