Casandra Cole: Mount Hope Church sponsored a pastors conference today for City Quake and I gotta say that I am so thankful that it was catered by Mortons at a time when this 3 year vegetarian loosened up on diet restrictions for a time. I had the beef, which was not only beautiful but everything I could have hoped for. The potatoes were soft but crispy. I'm about to have the chicken too since there was enough to take a lunch home. I will be using Morton's for my next event.

Sydney Winkler: I used Morton's Fine Catering for my wedding reception and they did a great job. They provided appetizers, dinner, and bartenders for the evening. We had a non-traditional wedding venue and they sent someone out a couple weeks before to walk through the space and make sure they had everything they needed. They had plenty of staff that did a great job making sure water glasses were filled and used dishes were picked up. All of the servers were professional and kind. I really liked that they even re-folded the napkins after we had finished our plated salads while guests were getting their food at the buffet, was a nice touch. We didn't come close to running out of anything so I am very happy with the amount of food they prepared. I would definitely recommend them!

Kyle Erickson: Our wedding was in 2021 so it’s been over a year, but I feel I should share my negative experience so I can prevent others from making the same mistake. #1 we were told gratuity was included in the upfront cost of the bar, and yet the bartender placed a tip jar on the counter and collected tips from guests who didn’t know #2 we were told the open bar would supply water (our outdoor wedding was 90 degrees) but after the ceremony, I, (the groom) went to the bar and said “we need water for everyone it’s so hot.” The bar tender said “all I have is one pitcher and then someone needs to go refill it at a drinking fountain”. (We had a family member go get a cooler of ice and a few packs of bottled water). #3 we were told staff would wear masks and gloves and serve the guests, but instead they set up the food for the guests to serve themselves, and also didn’t wear masks or gloves. Needless to say, we would not recommend. The food was good which is why 2 stars instead of 1.

It was a VIP private event & we knew Morton’s was the best choice to cater & bartend for our guests, staff & GM Executives. Lacie, Rae & their entire team were professional, thorough, friendly, on-time and the food & drinks were on point! Liz: Morton's catered our wedding reception on 9/24/2022.We decided to do a completely vegetarian menu so the food had to be delicious to be successful. It was! We received many compliments about the food, even from the picky meat-eaters! The mashed potatoes were among the most complimented.The staff was incredible as well. The servers were kind and helpful. Our bartender went above and beyond. Despite us running around to see everyone as the bride and groom, there was always a drink prepared and delivered.They assisted with cutting and setting up of our sheet cakes, which was much appreciated.I didn't have to coordinate or think about anything other than spending time with our family and friends. I couldn't have asked for much more than that!Planning before the wedding with Brenda was easy. She was responsive to questions and made sure everything was ready to go. I would recommend them to anyone considering them as caterers for their event.

Wendy S: I attended a wedding this weekend at the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy that was catered by Morton's. Hands down the best meal I have ever had at a wedding! The prime rib & boursin chicken were amazing. Highly recommend for your event

Shannon Waite: Wow. Morton's Fine Catering was an absolute joy to work with and did a phenomenal job. We first reached out to them because their website listed everything they provide and their prices which was a HUGE time saver compared to other companies who want to make a whole meeting to go over that stuff. We were able to see if they had food we'd like and in our price point from the get-go. Brenda was who we were in contact with up until our reception day and she was incredibly polite, helpful, informative, and patient. I even asked her if I could tip her because she was so great to talk to. On the day of, the team showed up on time, the woman in charge introduced herself to me, and they set up so quickly without making much noise at all. We had ordered five appetizers and it was all delicious. I had multiple people tell me how great it was. Using the same two tables the appetizers were on, the team switched it out to our dinner buffet, and again, the food was delicious. The place settings were beautiful, the buffet noted what each option was, and the servers were on top of things. When everyone was done eating, the team took everything down and slipped out without anyone barely noticing. At the end of the night, my husband and I did realize something that made us smile - we had a table set up with two things: paper toasts and flour. The paper toasts were there for people to write toasts/kind words on for us. The flour was because my husband is a chef and, as a unity type thing, he wanted our guests to throw flour into one new container that he'd use to make a starter for bread because he loves making bread. We found that Morton's wrote us a clever toast, AND added to the starter (we had guests who added sign a notebook for us). We thought that was sweet that they participated. Anyway, service was fantastic from when we first reached out to the day of, the food was great, and we couldn't be happier.

Megan Nylund: I had Morton’s cater my wedding on 7/22/22, and they did a phenomenal job! I loved all of the food choices, the service, and their kindness that they brought with them. They were very timely and got everyone food quickly, without running out of any meal options. There was enough for people to get additional helpings of the food, and they helped pour the champagne for the champagne toast. Phenomenal food, staff, attitudes, and service!! 💕 Communication with Brenda was also top notch!!

Patricia Joly: Food was really good, however the service was very disappointing. An older female staff, lacked customer service etiquette. If it weren't for her this review would be a 5-star review. She treated the guests at my sister's wedding reception with extreme disrespect talking down on them as if trying to belittle them. It is a shame that one person will tarnish the good name of Morton's Fine Catering. My experience with how this person treated me, and the rest of the guests was completely rude. She yelled at a few people including myself (demanding that I sit down), coincidentally we all are people of color; this happening is absolutely unacceptable. Even though the food was delicious I will not recommend this vendor.

Gretchen Sartele: My husband and I were finally able to celebrate our wedding in early October and I wanted to thank Morton's Fine Catering for the excellent food and service. They did an amazing job taking care of all our guests with allergies and dietary preferences and they even saved some of our cocktail hour small bites for my husband and I to try since we missed the hour taking pictures and relaxing. So thoughtful!! The bartender kept everyone VERY happy all night and handled the special requests from our bridal party with pleasure.They were absolutely wonderful during the entire "postponing due to a pandemic" process and were super flexible and communicative regarding the menu. Plated service went off without a hitch and all our guests enjoyed their food. The team even helped us with our teardown and clean up process, helping gather centerpieces and all our items to take home with us. They made what could have been a very stressful event smooth and easy!

I searched for several weeks to find a catering company that services Holt, MI; thank goodness I found Morton’s. Brenda, their sales rep., was so patient with my ever-changing requests and questions for our intimate (10 person) dinner party. Together, with her guidance, we built a menu that was ideal for us and our guests raved about the food for days after. We took advantage of their linen rentals and their delivery service. Their delivery team was punctual, professional and very polite.Now let’s talk about the display and food—due to work I could not be onsite for the delivery, however, the buffet line was setup perfectly and quickly removed when our party was complete. All of the guests stated that the Salmon and Michigan Cherry chicken were so delicious and well flavored. Other favorites included the Sausage stuffed mushrooms and the Chicken Rumanki with Thai chili sauce. My Mother-in-Law--- couldn’t stop raving about how much she loved the dressing that was served with the salad and the entire family is now planning to use Morton’s again in the future for low-stress holiday meals. I would highly recommend Morton’s for your event no matter what the size—they did an excellent job with our event; I imagine that would be the case for any size event they service.

Their menu has many options but I seem to always get the best reviews when I order the chicken kabobs or shawarma!

We had gone through many caterers in the past and they are by far the best we have had: great food, wide variety of meal choices, extremely courteous staff, reasonable prices, easy to work with. The food for up to 75 persons always arrived on time at the appropriate temperature and with lovely presentation. A Catered Affaire bailed on my best friends wedding 2 weeks before the wedding with comments such as "you said you would make it worthour time." They had obviously got a better offer and chose to bail in the wedding they committed too a year prior.. Don't let this be you and chose a more reliable caterer!

Loren Harvey: Jessie from A Catered Affair was fabulous to work with! She was accommodating, flexible, and extremely professional. A Catered Affair was extremely affordable, and the food was delicious. We selected a buffet service, and the servers helped the line move quickly so our guests were able to get their food in a timely fashion.

Jacki Pickutoski: A Catered Affaire was a preferred vendor of our venue (Michigan Wildlife Conservancy) regardless, we would definitely be happy to work with them again. The food was simple and delicious. At the tasting they answered all of our questions and provided us with good examples of the food we were going to have at our wedding, as well as went over different options for cocktail hour and dinnerware. The staff was extremely professional, and followed my request to wear masks with no complaints or problems. They always say people will remember the food at your wedding, and if they do they will have nothing but nice things to say about mine!

Jessica Corey: A catered affaire catered our wedding last month and did a GREAT job! They worked so hard to make sure that everything was perfect from the place settings to the food. We had about 135 guests. The price is super reasonable and the staff is great. We met with Doyle for a trial before the wedding and he was very accommodating. Cannot recommend this catering company enough!

Tenetra Moon: I ordered here for my wedding reception. We order baked chicken, herb crusted tilapia with red mashed potatoes, green beans or brocolli, Cesar salad and dinner rolls. We had numerous complaints about the fish being overcooked the tilapia portion being cut in half (literally one piece of tilapia was cut in half to serve two people) the vegetables were served cold and the dinner rolls were hard. They charged over 1100 plus 250 to have it served and the staff would not even serve the head table. And when I complained they response was this is our number one dish. I even sent several complaints directly from the wedding guest and I received no response back.Worst food ever

Since my daughter was planning from out of state she worked easily with us for the test tasting when she was home on break. The taste test meal was identical to the full wedding meal. (Sometimes you get a great tester but with larger quantities there is something just not there. NOT the case here). I'd highly recommend Center of the Plate!!

Early on, she was willing to create a custom menu for what I was looking for and as I was planning from across the country, was happy to have a tasting six months prior to the wedding. Rachelle drove out to my home for the tasting and the food was INCREDIBLE. Absolutely everything was to die for. We were already looking forward to the food for six months later! Her prices were also much lower than competitors in the area, which were incredibly reasonable for what we were asking!Rachelle sent emails a month in advance and two weeks out, asking questions to cover all bases. We knew the exact times her and her crew would arrive, when they would leave, how long dinner would take, and all the small details. I really appreciated how fast she responded to emails and how easily we were able to create a detailed timeline.Fast forward to the wedding day on June 15th, 2019! Rachelle and her team arrived a touch early to get a feel for the venue and set up. She was so appreciative of our venue owner's help and instead of asking as though the catering was the be-all, end-all, she worked WITH our coordinator to ensure everything would be in the best place. This collaboration created a positive atmosphere that continued through the reception! Once the reception began, Rachelle let out table by table, letting the bride and groom go first. She checked in with us as she let out other tables to make sure everything was what we hoped for. This was the fastest I had ever seen 100 guests receive their food. The buffet line went by without a hitch and everyone got to their food in no time! They offered seconds to anyone who wanted them, and the staff were very responsive to keeping waters filled and places cleaned from the tables.And now the food. The food was worth the six month wait! The salad and rolls were incredible to start. The potatoes and green beans were quite possibly the best vegetables I had ever eaten. The chicken with a cherry-apple compote was so juicy and tender and the top-round with the horseradish au juis was just how I remembered it. I took off a pasta dish from the menu and I do not have any regrets about that. Every dish we decided on was perfect and I had so many guests come up to me, raving about how this was the best wedding food they had ever tasted! I cannot recommend Rachelle and Center of the Plate enough for weddings!

Scott Tredwell: We hired amy's catering for a luncheon at our mother's funeral at st. Gerard's. The food was bland and unappetizing. Service was poor. After paying $800 they wouldn't even make a second pot of coffee. Hire anyone else.

G A: Thank goodness I ordered two entrees of each for each person because the chicken was all right the pork which was more expensive was so tough they didn't cook it long enough, the rolls were in small individual sealed cellophane wrapper and they all were dried out, the gravy was so salty nobody could eat it..... They were very quick with getting back to me when I called about their catering service, they had my order and what I needed to feed 45 people quickly put together, while being professional and friendly. I added desert the following day of ordering with no problem. Everyone at the gathering for my Dad throughly enjoyed. You won’t be disappointed.

Unfortunately, they put cilantro in their slaw, which I dislike. A straight up old fashioned slaw would be nice. I'll go back to try the brisket, but I think I will just get meat. Lansing has a lot of great bbq, so 517 needs to up it's game.

Breezy Michigan: We decided to try this restaurant for dinner last night after seeing someone post on Facebook asking to support them because covid has been tough. The drive-thru and service were nice. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with cheesy potatoes and green beans and a pulled pork plate with cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, and cornbread. When we ate dinner at home, we discovered the pulled pork plate looked and tasted just like turkey. So I'm hoping someone messed up. The cornbread was crumbly and would fall apart in your hand. Sides were nothing spectacular. Might have liked it better if I actually got to eat pulled pork. It was okay food, but there are better barbecue places in Lansing. I won't be back.

Jesse Torres: Stopped by this place to check it out. The Brisket plate is a great value and taste great. You get side with a mound of meat and it is honestly enough for my Wife and myself to share. I have also had the nachos with chicken, it was pretty good and again enough to share. The staff is friendly and one time they had homemade peanut butter cookies which were delicious. Highly recommend this place for some quick bbq.

Jakup Abedin: So my take on this restaurant is going to be a little hard because I'm currently in Texas. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants that I would typically compare this to, and they are just waaay better. I thought the food here was just okay. I tried the wet burrito and enchiladas and just wasn't a fan.Friendly decor in the inside -could use a remodel. The customer service, however, is absolutely marvelous. I was told I should have tried something more authentic like the Barbacoa tacos. But sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. If I'm ever back in this part of town, I'll keep that in mind as well as the wedding cake.

Literally no other breakfast burrito compares and the salsa is out of this world amazing. The food is always fresh and steaming hot. I'm a frequent visitor since the restaurant is close to my office. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and eat at Alicia's. Not Subway. Not McDonalds. Support local businesses and stop in Alicia's ❤️
