It felt predatory. I get inflation, but not 70%. And they didn’t communicate the second increase. I am no longer renting a unit there because of this.** Edit: CubeSmart's response is great - but I am going to say this again. The price increase on my unit went up by 70% between March and October of this year. And saying that I should talk to someone is silly. I DID talk to someone in the office, after trying for two weeks to connect with someone and finally happening to catch them in the office when I started to empty the unit. Their response? Energy prices. Inflation. Etc. So again - I can read. Expecting reasonable price increases annually makes sense. But 70% over 6 months is not reasonable. That's predatory.

Ray Hughes: This place is worthless and I am in the process of moving out. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I will never use their services again. They have 0 security [1 camera at front gate] and have left the gate open multiple times. I've been informed by Jerry who is very disrespectful that the gate has been struck by lightning multiple times now. I don't know why I don't believe him. Jerry has told me multiple times now they are installing more cameras and I have never seen it happen. They do a horrible job cleaning up snow when there is a lot of it. And the most recent thing is raising our cost to almost $300 after it was already over $250. Jerry informed that this wouldn't be an issue the first time and we've been with them for 3 years. They have never made any renovations or improvements that they say their going to make so I'm not sure what their doing with the money. Another issue for me is there is only access from 6 am to 10 pm and that has always been problematic for me and my wife because we work all different hours. If their staff was helpful and didn't keep trying to raise the price from our agreement I would probably consider staying but there are too many other issues for me. Also when they call about a late payment they are unsympathetic to another business owner waiting on late payments, I thought it ironic.

Allen Tipper: They made setting up my storage situation (renting a place to store a vehicle, rather than a normal storage unit) simple, during a time when everyone else in town was making it complex. The attendant who helped me through the paperwork was great, and all told, things simply went as they should be.

Tyler Speer: Been coming here for years for propane and over time the wait has become longer. No big deal, they get busy. Today I stopped in rang the buzzer and waited 5 min noticing they had cars and customers they were taking care of. I walked up to make sure they knew I was there, they assured me they did. 20 Minutes later and two customers walking in, I go back to wait in line. 2 people come in after me and when I get up there they finally tell me, “I’ll be out when I can”.. 35 minutes I waited to be told I’ll be out when I can. They had helped everyone in front of me already.

Christopher Broers: General Manager Cody Carns is hands down the best u-Haul representative that I have ever met. I made a mistake and was charged for 10 days on a 1 day trailer rental and this man was running the entire location by himself and was completely overloaded with customers. I told him to take care of the other customers since my issue would take longer and I observed this gentleman professionally dominate every step of the rental process for 3-4 people with a smile and nothing but courtesy. My issue was resolved and I am beyond thankful, but more importantly I know that this man needs to be recognized for his efforts and U-Haul needs to make it a priority to get Cody a team together. No matter if he was content in running a company by himself, it weighs on a man. Bravo to Cody Carns! I appreciate your integrity and I hope your company will see this review. Sam Felleke: I had a disastrous rental driving a 26' truck from Houston to Lansing but when I dropped off the truck Timothy was very helpful and went above and beyond to take care of the issue and situation. I never plan to use u-haul ever again but after dealing with Timothy he really assured me and I'll be happy to come back and do business and refer my friends and family to him.Thanks Tim of North Lansing Uhaul

Keith Evans: It was nice to get this unit when we needed one about a year ago when we moved to MI and I was returning a one way U-Haul. Unfortunately it has been a horrible horrible experience ever since. Never once could I visit and check on my stuff without some drama. New locks put on our unit, lost keys at the front desk, hours and hours and hours of waits, totally stoned staff, 30 minutes to get a receipt upon checkout. Oh, we didn't get the fancy insurance and regretted it because our stuff got tons of water damage. Lost so much stuff it is incredible. Most of the staff was great except the stoners, but the management and the units themselves needed to be dealt with so often. Oh, and they sold us about $50 in locks throughout the year that failed and failed. Finally out of there today and never to return!

Chris went out of his way to explain things thoroughly, and he is very helpful! He will go out of his way to have authentic conversations with you, and is a friendly face to have on site.

Reagan: Great experience storing my things here. I was moving from one 900 square foot apartment to another using the 5 by 15 space. The property manager was nice. He let me know if I ever needed to come after hours (even in the middle of the night) he would be there if I needed him. There are gates that protect the property. Great prices. If needed I would definitely come back to store anything.

Kat Brigman: I was told I put the lock on my unit on incorrectly so they put one of their own locks on my unit and called me to come down so the manager could remove the lock. I came an hour before close and was told to wait at my unit for the manager to come meet me (at their secondary location) and she never came. They were busy so I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt that she would get there soon but I started calling at 6:55pm with no answer, twice. And drove over to the main location as soon as I could (it ended up being 4 minutes after closing) and everyone was gone. They asked me to drive out and then they wasted my time.

jenni young: Didn't check truck in for over 2hrs after dropping it off. Didn't issue a receipt, and then tried to say we didn't put enough gas in the truck! Tried to file dispute and 1800 number blew me off and never filed the dispute or entered my email address for further communication!Stay away from this location!After contacting corporate, they dropped charges. According to corporate the math didn't add up.....Gas vs mileage! So it would've taken 9 gallons to drive from mason to the Southside 3 times according to this location!

Rob Washburn: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rented a 15' truck and towing trailer. Had a few hiccups along our trip, but the Uhaul help team was great and responsive and always kept us up to date. Very satisfied with the Jolly & Cedar Uhaul as well as their support agents.

Marquis Hester: Do not use their storages. They lock you out after a certain time, and when you call to get help no one answers. I left to get help, a guy came over and used his EMPLOYEE badge and couldn’t get in. He had to manually open the doors. He said it should be good and left back to the store, after putting my stuff away. I tried to leave and couldn’t get out of the storage unit.

Logan Dowell: This was the definition of a debacle. I reserved a truck for two days with the self-pickup option. These folks then proceeded to cancel my order without notifying me, and then when I spoke with the barely conscious seemingly drug-addled employee inside he confirmed it was cancelled - and there was nothing they could do to help. An absolutely useless human being I can only pray is on some sort of program to help the mentally incompetent. I am happily spending nearly two times as much at another company because of the sheer incompetence and unprofessionalism exhibited here.

Alexa Smith: Called at 6:30p to obtain a simple quote for a potential future rental prior to them closing at 7p. Was placed on hold indefinitely. Called back three additional times PRIOR to closing time without any staff picking up. Safe to say you either need to re-train your staff or update your website to reflect a closing time of 6:30p.

Stephanie Irene: All I did was rent an appliance dolly. I had a $60 hold placed on my card to do so. No big deal. Sike! When I returned the dolly the chick who helped me took my name and said I was “all set” until the next day when there was no longer a hold and I was just charged the $60 instead of just $10. When i called to ask about it I was literally hung up on several times before someone actually spoke to me and then he refused to process my return. I had to file a dispute with my card company. I would say that I simply don’t recommend this location (which I absolutely don’t) but their customer service was no help either. 100% do not recommend u-haul at all and I definitely will not be using them again.
