Roberta E. Stanley: Unfortunately I did not have an appointment as I should have, but Jessika Snider, the Store Manager, quickly came to the door and invited me in. She adeptly sorted through my multiple insurance program issues, and advised me on adapting the frames I chose to serve my individual needs. Her demeanor was professional and exceptionally pleasant. It may well have been one of the best appointments I have ever had in an eyewear store.
Lisa Dobbrastine: I had the pleasure of working with Jessika at the Lansing SEE location. She provided a wonderful experience from start to finish! She ensured that I was the only one in the store with my newborn at the time of my visits. This was huge for me with the current pandemic. My father is currently in remission from a rare and aggressive form of bone marrow cancer and suffers from an extremely compromised immune system. All precautionary measures to protect him and my daughter are always taken seriously so it was very exciting to see how thorough Jessika was creating a safe and sanitized environment for me to get new glasses. I am absolutely in love with my new glasses and give her and this location a 5 star rating! Top notch customer care and service! Way to go above and beyond Jessika! Thank you!
Kimberly Lavon: Hands down the WORST experience I’ve ever had.The first prescription I was given was ineffective in helping me see. I returned for 3 more exams with the same doctor to find the same result.Sadly the worst part was dealing with the staff. I was rushed. Pushed to pick frames then hurried through the rest of the experience just to go home after 2 months from the initial visit WITHOUT NEW GLASSES.Corporate was just as bad if not worse. I ended up loosing money and a great deal of time. Their “Hip without the rip” slogan is false. Take your patronage elsewhere.

Sohaib kim: I will never come back to you, my insurance covers $200 hardware and in store i told the staff i cannot pay out of pocket and i love the frames, they were very unhelpful, finally they offered me the worst pairs i ever used in my life, the basic lenses that reflect light and not coated or protected, i wish i didnt say yes. I hate the way i was treated, if i just went to another place, i could have had the best lenses available for less. Anyway am GONE 4ever.

Not only was I not acknowledged upon arrival, but i was ignored for the 10 minutes I wasted waited there. The guy working there saw me arrive and didn't even give me a head nod. After 10 min of not being acknowledged I walked out. There was one guy working there. Even though he was with other clients good customer service would have been to say "hi, someone will be with you shortly." It's safe to say I will never go back there for any reason.

Constance Fritzsche: Just went to pick up my glasses and my debit card declined my purchase. After call insurance company and having them give me some ginky excuse the manager waived the 87 dollar cost and gave me my glasses. They are the best.

The staff in the vision center are so friendly and are always so helpful with helping with picking frames and other things. I love coming here and getting assisted by these ladies!

My only complaint is that the glasses took longer than expected to arrive.Would definitely come to this place again for my eye exam.

Casie Davis: Can’t say enough good things about Dr Nash, we started seeing him in 2013 for our then 5 year old sons continued vision issues. After spending time with our son at his first appointment and doing his own research he directed us to the appropriate testing that showed our son had a brain tumor. Something his pediatrician and other eye drs hadn’t been able to do for about a year. Dr Nash continued to be a critical part of our sons care through out treatments for his cancer and is still on his care team 9 years later. Dr Nash and his staff have been companionate and caring through the years our family is so thankful for finding Dr Nash at the right time. Dr Nash also cares for myself and my 2 year olds vision as well, I couldn’t ask for a better place to care for my family.

Selina Terry: The help Dr.Nash has at the front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. I called to make a eye appointment and order a box of contacts. It was a emergency situation due to my son breaking my glasses and me ruining my last pair of contacts unexpectedly. I asked to purchase a box of contacts she stated there were none available on hand for my prescription so I would have to order them, that is fine. I then requested if it was possible to receive a trail pair to hold me over until I received the contacts that I needed to order but was told the dr. Was on vacation and that she wasn’t legally allowed to give me a trial pair. Totally understandable no one is asking you to do anything illegal. So I asked her for a copy of my prescription so I could go to another eye doctor to buy contacts and she sends me over a prescription with a expired expiration date. I called her and asked her why she would send me over a expired prescription without informing me that I wouldn’t be able to use it and she laughed and stated well you requested it. I didn’t find that funny, I found that passive and unprofessional. Why wouldn’t you tell me that my prescription was expired. Mind you this is the same lady that tried to have me get another eye exam that was unnecessary when I purchased my last box of contacts. That came off very money hungry and not for the benefit of the patient.The doctor corrected her. I would suggest that Dr. Nash strengthen her customer service skills, if not I see her behavior running off a lot of patients in the future. I will be finding a new eye doctor.You didn’t give me anything in November, that is when my contact prescription was written and it comes with a trial pair just like any other eye doctor so with that being said My prescription was written in November. last I knew at any other eye doctor, a prescription lasts a year. Wrong is wrong, no one was expecting a free trail pair of contacts, I was expecting to get my contact prescription without a altered expiration date so I could purchase contacts elsewhere since the receptionist was making it seem like it was impossible for me to get assistance through your office. I have purchased contacts two times since I have been a patient here so let’s not lose focus on the fact that, you should have had emergency procedures set in place for emergency situations while you were on your vacation and your receptionist shouldn’t be petty and think it’s funny to have passive aggressive behavior when it comes to a patients eye care. The doctor that did my eye exam was very thorough and considerate of all avenues that my insurance would allow. The ladies up front helped a lot in picking out new glasses. Overall made my experience with vision care very pleasant. Also the day I went in there were children in the lobby. I noticed all the staff on the floor were very good with the children. Chelle: Came in to just have my eye cleaning solution refilled. I stood at the front desk for a little while. Then was asked by one of the employees with the glasses and dark hair , didn’t catch her name. to come have a seat. As, I sat there she started helping a customer, I asked her how long did she think It would be? She said she didn’t know. This is when she informed me that the lady she was helping had an appointment and that she and the other lady were the only ones working. Meanwhile another lady comes from the back and asks what was it that i needed and I told her and she stops what she is doing to take a few seconds just to refill the cleaning solution. Just a few seconds is all it took. Then another lady comes in and she was asked if she had an appointment. She says no she just wanted to look at some glasses.or some frames or something of the sort. she was seated and was in the process of being helped . Meanwhile I would have still been waiting if the lady hadn’t taken just a few seconds to just refill the solution .Again, just a few seconds is all it took. So my thing is why was what the the lady that came in after me that had no appointment as well. . Why was what she needed was so much more important than what I needed. You lost me as a customer and my family members and friends as well.

P & R Burry: Worst technician ever. I had my exam, which was fine but the technician to help me with frames had no idea what she was doing. She got very little help from the experienced tech nearby. She was basically thinking out loud about which charges she should charge me then quoted me about $400 per pair on $79 lens!!!! What a rip off!! When I asked if that was correct- almost $800 for 2 pair she it was - it's the reflection package and lens apparently. Don't waste your time or money here. What a disappointing appointment! I thought she would at least offer me other options in my price range. Will NEVER go back!

Drove 30 minutes today for this appointment and I arrived on time. They claimed my appointment was for a different time but I showed them the Two confirmations still on my phone they sent me with the correct Date/Time. Then they blamed it on their computer but refused to honor my appointment and told me I would have to reschedule. Told me I could sit and wait to see if there were any no-shows the rest of the day. If you have anxiety or any other issue, they are well equipped and ready to assist you with all your eye exam and corrective lens needs. I was blown away!
Walter Grace: The last time I went here to get glasses was over twenty five years ago. The place hasn't changed much, but the frame selection is good without overloading you with too many choices. The location is good because I work intermittently in East Lansing. Prices here aren't the lowest, but as Rob pointed out, "you wouldn't pick the lowest price for heart surgery, why do that for your eyes." I've found that they're on a par with everyone else price wise. They take time with their customers, and yes the opticians are pretty straightforward and plain spoken, but this is better than sugarcoating things. It does help if you know what want BEFORE you go in, and this made it easier and took less time. They were good at explaining the benefits, and also told me that our insurance sets the prices and doesn't pay much for progressive lenses, which wasn't an issue for me. Since the insurance company is who makes the lenses, they have to send for glasses which takes about a week and a half. I bought a pair with hinges that much more flexible than anything else I've ever seen and sure they will work great. They were interested in helping me without being smothering, which is something I appreciated. Glad to be back.
Paul Alan: I have been a patron since the 1980's and I will never use the Frandor office again. I ordered my glasses and stated something seemed off, but I was told the stigmatism in the lens changed and give it a try. I went back after a few days stating something was off. They then realized that they ordered the incorrect script compared to what was supposed to be ordered. I got the new lens over a week later. After a short time, I realized that everything was blurry while looking through the left part of the new lens. They reordered it stating sometimes they could not see a wave defect in the lens. I got the new lens and it was fine. Each of these times the frame never quite fit right and they would make adjustments. The following week I went back in for just an adjustment and the employee said "What’s wrong with them now." I tried to laugh it off, but I thought that was unprofessional. Even worse was the fact that the adjustments did not help much. I went to the West Lansing office a couple days later and Jack immediately identified the issue and corrected it. Unfortunately, I sat on my glasses a couple days later. The Frandor office did fix them. When I mentioned that they felt like they were slipping a little and wanted a minor tweak they seemed ok with it. When I mentioned they still didn't feel quite right I was told "I was splitting hairs and they were straight." That night a friend of mine identified the issue immediately, as the nose pieces were in the right spot but had to be angled to match my nose, a simple fix that took just a little attention to detail. The curious thing is that every time I went into the Frandor office there was no one in there, and I was made to feel like I was interrupting them. They did not take the time to look at how the glasses fit on the ear or back unless prompted, and in the end they did not even do that. On the other hand, Jack at the West side office looked at all aspects, and had other customers in his office.
stephenee darling: Rob Wallace optician at Wallace opticians, was rude and dismissive to me. I ask him point blank if he was in a hurry because he seemed dismissive to me. He replied that he was there was other people he needed to get to. That hurt me because I did not seem to be a valued customer to him. When I needed to buy glasses today and was prepared to by 2 pairs out of pocket. I left wondering why he would be that rude. When my dad was with me a different day he was great, maybe it was because I am young and he thinks a can't afford it I don't know. But what I do know is that I will never come here again, and I will tell others how Rob Wallace treated me.
Kelly Morgan: I ordered two pair of glasses from Wallace, paid immediately out of pocket. The gentleman who took my order was very nice, but picking up the glasses was a completely different story. The man was so rude. The right lens did not seem correct and without re-examining the glasses, he said, "I guess you'll just have to contact your eye doctor." I mentioned I thought it was the lens itself, not the prescription, to which he replied, "Well, your insurance will have to pay for another pair." This individual appeared to have zero concern that I leave a satisfied customer. The exchange went on for about 15 minutes and I finally said, "So, you are taking no responsibility to see that the glasses are correct?" I left stunned that a service person could be so uninterested in a customer. I cannot recommend Wallace and will not return.

T M: I've been a very satisfied customer since 2007! Excellent customer service every visit (even if it's just for a minor walk-in thing), and the doc is very thorough and on-the-level. I always feel like everything is explained well to me, and it's empowering to know exactly what all the diagrams and numbers on my chart mean. Would recommend this place to anyone (and I have!).

Marilyn M. G.: I went in just for an eye exam (glasses and contact lenses). Their location was very convenient to where I work. I feel that Dr. Matson did a good job with the eye exam, although he doesn’t have the best bedside manner…easy enough for me to overlook. After meeting with the doctor for about 30 minutes, he brought me to the front of the store. The front office staff were definitely friendly, until after I paid for the exam. I explained to the office manager that I did not want to purchase from Pearle right now, as last year’s glasses were still good, and I had several pair of contact lenses from last year, so wasn’t in a hurry to purchase more. When I asked for copies of prescriptions for both exams, I was told by the office manager that they don’t give copies of the contact lens prescription until the sample had been tried and worn for a week. This would ensure that the new prescription worked well for me. However, she still wanted me to order and pay for the new prescription at that time, without trying the sample lens. This didn’t make sense to me, so I asked again for copies of both prescriptions, telling her I didn’t need to buy anything now. She said she would give me the glasses prescription, but not the contact lens prescription. I offered to give back the one trial contact lens that the doctor gave me. After that, she rolled her eyes, walked to the back office, and returned with copies of both prescriptions. Not the customer service I expected after reading such great reviews. But that could be because I didn’t spend hundreds of dollars there. I’ve never had that problem with other optical offices. Needless to say, I won’t be back there.

They strive for excellence and satisfaction in patient care. I so appreciate that in today's world where we often feel like a number and not a name.

I could go to walgreens and get some reader frames and have them cut lenses for those that would be better than these frames and lenses. I have never in my life seen glasses so bad. They do not at all fit my face they just slid right down because the person who measured my face did a horrible quick job because he was mad that I didn’t want to spend $200 on blue light lenses when I told him I don’t use a phone or computer that much so he rushed the entire process, they crack and creak like they are 50 years old, the lenses aren’t even popped into the frames all the way because the lady at the desk when I went was beyond rude and rushed everything because another lady came in and was mad that her glasses broke after only using them for 24 hours (I should have known then to just leave) and the lenses are not even cut to the correct width so they don’t fit, the lenses material is beyond ridiculous I’ve never seen “plastic” lenses be so PRO FOG, PRO SCRATCHING, PRO DUST. I wish I could say they were anti everything but unfortunately they attract every single thing you don’t want on your glasses. I now have to purchase a pair that’s usable and worth anything from an online company because no one wants to touch these dollar store reader frames and incorrectly cut lenses. Americas best laughed in my face and said to “throw them in the trash, where did you even buy those from”

But once he got to seeing the Dr that all changed, he made my son uncomfortable, he had no patience for kids what so ever!
