Roger Smits: I am in my mid-forties and my family has done banking with CASE for close to 50 years. Due to extremely poor customer service, I have taken all my funds out of CASE, including checking, savings, and did loan and credit card balance transfers to MSU. The most frustrating Visa experiences I've ever had including asinine fraud alerts that instantly deny your purchases from local businesses. This is with a credit score in the low 800s and a credit card limit fitting for the score. I tried to rectify the situations, because they happened several times, by phone and gave them my social security number, address, and my account number and they still wouldn't help me. It is so frustrating for your Visa charge to get denied for no legitimate reason, then deal with a representative that thinks it's his day to flex on someone. Customer service is horrible and the drive thru is even worse. Never again!By the way, suddenly they want me to contact them since the bad reviews and want to "help" rectify the situation. Well, I already emailed CASE twice with no response. Too bad CASE waits for customers to post unsatisfactory online reviews and then responds in some feeble manner to make it appear the organization values their customers. Not in a million years!
Emery McClendon: THE WORST!! I have been a member for years and the service has dramatically declined over time. Every time I’m in a branch I have a trainee assisting me and it takes a minimum of 25 mins to do simple transactions. I have never went into a branch and been out in under 15 mins. The last teller I got couldn’t even count; she had to get the teller next to her to assist with counting my withdrawal. They don’t accept appointments, not even for business banking. They are extremely understaffed and management simply does not care.I no longer trust this institution with my funds. Beware.

Bradley Hilts: Day before yesterday on a whim and a prayer I stopped there to ask about opening a checking account. It was 4:55p, they close at 5:00p, they took the time to explain the process and that it would require a minimum $25.00 deposit which would go into my savings account that I would have to open first, but could open a checking account with that same $25.00 deposit, but would have to have a credit check. Asked me to come back tomorrow and locked the door behind me!Yesterday I went in and opened a Checking and Savings Account! Everyone there has been very friendly and go out of the way to be helpful and courteous! I have never been treated so nicely at any financial institution in my life (as an adult)!As soon as possible I will be closing every other account I have and putting it all into CPCU! I have to go to Social Security Office to get my automatic deposits changed to CPCU ASAP! Also will have to change all of my bills to the new Debit Card/account number! I will have to wait till I get my VISA Debit card from them before doing that! But... I believe it will be worth it! At this point I highly recommend CPCU!Best part is that it is less than 2 blocks from where I live!

I’ve worked with both the Eaton Rapids location and the Lansing location and have had only good experiences, they really care about you here. By far the best credit union I’ve ever been a member of. Jesse Skouby: Worst Loan experience . We were not informed properly , information was entered incorrectly, was charged with all sort of interest and fees. We did a loan through them and was not told once about it being a variable rate loan , closed it with lighting speed signatures without disclosing it in person as well and was given the loan. What we were going to use the money on fell through THREE months later so I went to give them back the money that was borrowed, to find out I owe them an additional $1700 just to close the loan after I made payments and giving the full amount back. I have reached out multiple time to customer service and was ASSURED that someone would get back with me because this wasn’t right and NO ONE has called . This was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’ve ever experienced, not to mention that you feel like you were just robbed by them . We lost over $2200 in three months and didn’t even use the loan.

I’ll admit, customer service isn’t always that great over the phone, but everyone is welcoming and helpful in person. I really appreciate Ron and Audrey helping me request my car’s title from Florida yesterday. Ashley Schaefer: Truly had such a horrible experience start to finish. My father had an auto loan here and unfortunately passed away. They were so unhelpful, incredibly difficult to reach (never answering their phone or calling back), turned off online access to his account so my mom could no longer make payments but of course they wouldn't give us another option to pay. I called so many times and eventually had to drive to a branch (I live 2 hours away!) to talk to someone. I even emailed the president (an option on their website) and never heard back. Save yourself the trouble, go somewhere else!

I have never qualified for any of their programs for cars, mortgage, cards or anything one would get for being a long-term customer. I have fairly good credit history and make a nice salary. Had to call back and have another girl who messaged back and forth between me and the responsible person in a non personal three way conversation. Your services have deteriorated and when the pandemic recedes you will lose customers because of the lack of efficient and professional services that you once provided . Jake Toro: Lafcu will stab you in the back even if you are loyal for decades and always pay back your loans in full. They are part of the globalist effort to take houses away from families. Lafcu is most likely owned by Blackrock. I have since switched to a better credit union and would NEVER recommend lafcu to anyone.
Kim Lambright: Wife was called foe fraudulent charges on her card . So she went in to replace her card they said they would not give her a replacement. They said they would give her a ATM card but not a debit card. So everytime we want to shop or eat out or anything we have to go to a ATM machine first. I said that is not acceptable we live off or debit card. They said so do I I never carry cash. RIGHT! That is why we have a debit card.the person there said we get stuck with the charge if it's fraudulent. But we are then punished for someone else trying to use my account. i said there are people out there every day being paid to do that. Sounds to me like security for your accounts are not very good.but we are suppose to be OK with you charging for everything like transferring money from one account to another of 3.00$. And 3.00 for this and 3.00 for that I have been a faithful customer for over 30 yrs. And this is how they are treating us we are taking our money out our cds and going to another credit union that isn't so hard up for cash and cares about their people.go green go white so long you money. hungry people. Christina Warner: STAY AWAY FROM LAFCU! They will take a charge and put the money back. Then take the funds again at a later date resulting in overdraft fees. The offer no solution and won't stop the charges from coming through. Go anywhere else you will be happy you did.
Kara Grace: This is my favorite lafcu branch. Lafcu isn’t my favorite to bank with, I prefer msufcu but I still do some banking with lafcu and find this branch is the friendliest and fastest. I always know it will be quick, and the tellers are great.

Turns out they randomly started taking 6 a quarter at the end of last year and 6 bucks a month starting this year until they took all my money and then closed my account. A respectable institution would send you a check for your overpayment not just steal your money until there is none left. DONT TRUST THEM! Way better banks and credit unions out there that will not steal your money!

Dolores Carpenter: I have been with LAFCU since 2001 and have been relatively happy with their service....until today.After spending an extensive amount of time on hold (thru multiple phone calls) trying to set up the appointment and all parties had arrived at the south Lansing branch we were greeted by a very rude man who explained that ALL signees had to be LAFCU members. (I have used their notary service in the past without all signees being members and one of thw members of our party had been at the same branch for the same purpose a week prior without being a member). He made it quite obvious our business there was NOT appreciated or wanted.Not only did this episode cost Lafcu a couple new members...I will be at my local branch tomorrow to close my account.

After the passing of a loved one the manager very rude man said basically “sorry for your loss” TOO BAD…nice way to treat a widow and they plainly seen that all other loans taken out had insurance on them… why in the World wouldn’t insurance be on the last loan.. that being said…they lie when they say “sorry you had a bad experience someone will call you”. Nick Swix: These may be the worst people I've ever had to deal with. My father was sick. My mother went there and did everything they said with their accounts to make sure when he died she had access. My father passed, and my mother has ti move in with me because these people won't give her access to her account with her name on it. These are BAD PEOPLE that really seemed to take pleasure in my mother's agony. It's sad that there'd people in there world like this

All I needed was a check in my account. It takes two seconds and could have been avoided if they had a working ATM ever.

TP: The customer service isn’t the best at this specific branch. West Saginaw location seems to always have better customer service. I’ve been a memeber since this was auto body credit union in the 90’s. They aren’t the most helpful “credit union”, I get treated better by my “bank”. Why I don’t come here often. Unnecessary check holds, crude responses, no simple “hello” or “have a nice day” greetings in the drive thru, unwilling to increase lines of credit when the balance is zero and credit is good. Maybe after seeing this review, others will have better experiences in the future.

Phantome_CHANGE: was lied to about what transferring a loan would do to my credit, they bought a car loan from my other credit union and told me it wouldn't affect my score that much. I'm trying to buy a house and told them that. Well after they took on my car loan it took my score down 75pts. And now I have to wait even longer to buy my house. Will close all my accounts with them and will no longer do anything with them after my loan is paid.

josh powers: Good and bad.their security on your account and debit card are great. I've had my acct hacked twice and both times got my money back quickly and my acct froze for security. But one time recently I was 50 miles from home and someone in Detroit was using my acct to shop online so my acct was froze, but the only problem was I was completely stranded until the next day with no cash. I called the back of my debit card and they couldn't unlock my acct at all. I was low on gas so was stranded. I understand the security concerns but there should be a number to call to unlock it for a short time or whatever. Im just glad I didn't have my children with me in the middle of winter! Plus there after hours ATM on jolly rd is broke a lot, so once again not able to access my money. If you enter a wrong pin sometimes one time it will lock you out. Being locked out of your own acct is a real problem and being stranded. And also a few years ago they turned me and my wife down for a personal loan, so we went to lafcu and they accepted no problem at all. We have good credit and pay bills on time so don't understand why. Im looking into switching banks because being locked out with no options is a serious problem...
