Zachary Clough (NapoleontheLesser): My experience with Lake Trust on a whole as a financial institution has been miserable. Instead of verifying the transactions I make before locking the card they immediately lock it, and for regular internet transactions through reputable sites. I've been through 3 cards with them. They take twice as long as every oth financial institution I've had to complete transfers and transactions, and when coworkers have already gotten direct deposit mine hasn't even shown up as pending until hours later. Absolutely the worst Bank/Credit Union in Michigan.

After making an appt for a notary to do a real estate closing at my other C.U. and being treated VERY rudely....Lake Trust allowed us to walk in unannounced and helped us out with our closing. Blah-blah-blah-blah….Ditch this POS customer dis-service message system and have REAL HUMANS answer the phone. So high-tech, Lake Trust has become member hostile and totally useless.Waited 35 minutes on hold, listening to how much they appreciate our business, so I gave up.

Wow way to go lake trust.Reply to your answer "David Snodgrass" of Lake Trust Credit Union:Or take your business elsewhere due to incompetent ownership and employees not having a voice of their own, along with lack of customer service skills and infrastructure needed to succeed. How about next time you try to use your communicative skills put a note on the door update your website so that your customers know beforehand and reroute themselves elsewhere or come at the time noted if you didn't know to do this maybe your team should have came up with their own ideas to help you in advancing the footprint your branch has in Lansing. Try not to reroute next time try to take constructive criticism along with responsibility and maybe make a statement about fixing for future incidents that's all you needed to do.

Brandon Jager: Was with them for 10+ years, chose to close the account due to being locked out of mobile banking over a changed phone number. Upon going to close the account I owed $18 and was charged an additional $64 dollars just to make the payment. So for a total of $82 dollars I was allowed to close the account. Would not recommend

Young Family Incorporated YFI: Opened an account for direct deposit and they wouldn't give me a debit card. I was told they would send me an email with info to set up the direct deposit but they never did. Ok cool whatever. Then I go to cash a check and was told I COULDN'T CASH A CHECK! There's no point in having an account if I can't use it for anything. Closed it immediately before I left. Very disappointed!

And fortunately for myself and my wife they have continued the tradition of excellent financial services! I can't count the the number of times over the years the security has contacted us regarding suspicious activity and most of the time they were right on the money. They had come to know our habits of spending. There was one incident where I carelessly allowed some access to my financial data and the Staff at lake Trust help me close all accounts open new accounts and made sure all pending obligations were taken care of and recorded. If you want a top rated financial institution with competitive loan rates and interest on savings plus earned monthly awards you won't do better than Lake trust Credit union.

Candis Rice: In July of 2021 my sister passed away after being incoherent for several weeks while a member of Lake Trust. Before we could freeze her account, her former "friend" went to this branch two days before her death and emptied her account of $15,000. She presented a handwritten note from 8+ years ago giving her authority to do so. No one questioned this withdrawal and handed the money over. My sister died with no money for bills or burial. This act was inexcusable. This "friend" also stole all cash within my sister's house as EMS left the door unlocked. Lake Trust operates without protecting their customers accounts.

C Ferguson: BUYER BEWARE! No direct phone line to your local branch so if you get locked out doing online banking your're screwed! The Lake Trust 888 generic number will put you on hold for hours and its ONLY number for ALL branch offices. You have to go in person to get any assistance with online lockouts. The branch staff are great but the general organization is NOT user friendly!

Amanda Walters: Husband and I received new debit cards in mail. Activated them over the phone. Went to use mine the first time and there was a chip malfunction. I thought it could be the place I was at. Couple more places in the next few days same problem. My husband calls me from the road one day, he is going to have to use credit card for the day because his chip doesn't work. Call in on generic 800 number. Woman I get is the worst!! She tells me 1st that it's not the chip it's the location. Once I say again how it's both cards at several locations she tells me to activate the cards at ATM. I tell her AGAIN they are Activated. Even with my husband standing there with me she refuses to send new card. I have to go into branch. However branch is closed I need to call them for an appointment and we both have to be able to go there. How do you call the branch?? There are no branch numbers available anywhere!!! She says I should know the extention but she will transfer me. My branch tells me they don't know when they can get me in they are very busy. I make appointment for Saturday morning the next day. We go in for 10am appointment get there at 9:40. No customers in building, so they let us in and no one shows up the whole time we are there. New cards are printed and handed to us. However since its Saturday and not technically a business day they are not Activated. And can not be activated over the phone. We can come back anytime after 6pm that same day and activate in ATM by doing a balance check!!! How inconvenient that the bank itself can not hand to a fully ready card it's the most stupid thing I have ever heard of. All after being treated like a moron and a huge inconvenience!!

I've had to get new debit and credit cards twice since last year; the latest was yesterday just before closing.When I realized my account had been hacked I called the branch office right away and within the hour they made an in person appointment for me. They met me at the door, gave me a new card and had already cancelled my old card.It is easy to write a negative review when we're not happy, but Lake Trust needs to hear the positive remarks when we're pleased!Thank you!!

Their management is HORRIBLE and these new teller machines are the worst ever...Literally just waited 53 minutes in line (3 people ahead of me) only to pull up there and the scanner not work for my license. Teller says she has to restart the session and scan again. Well she restarted it and went and helped the drive thru lane next to me. Wasn't waiting 20 minutes for them to finish.UpdateStill have a horrible wait in line for teller machines...what a waste of time and money....

Kirsten Cathleen: My card was taken and I had to go get a new one I go there and wait in line everyone’s great helps me out I get the card and go to activate it in the ATM and it won’t allow it so the next day I had to go back in and explain again somebody else and then they say that the problems fixed I try activating it in the ATM again but my pin no longer works and I was never told that it was changed so it’s been three days and I’ve had no access to my money it’s kind of annoying

Casey Classified: Where to begin. First it started with this branch denying me reactivating my account because someone bad stolen my identity and used it at a different bank for $500 under a name that obviously wasn't mine. Got that fixed and they still denied me an account. Had to have my wife as the main account holder. So I have no other accounts then right? So when I make a deposit it should go into our account right? NOPE. They deposit it into my old account that was closed and they denied me of reopening. After them doing that several times, I have to say put it into my joint account with my wife to get it in the correct account and they still denied me once thereafter. Fed up with that, I let it slide. They have the worst rates so we instantly paid off our loan. Our most recent problem, which led to this negative review is the fact that the wife and I both have went to make separate transactions and they have messed it up. (one teller in particular). Today we asked for $xxx transfered from savings to checking and then an additional $xxx withdrawn in cash from checking and the same teller would take our cash withdrawn we wanted from our transfer to checking. We do this in person so we're not limit to 5 transaction limit from savings. But with her doing this, we have to go back and do another transfer in person. Which we live 20 minutes away. This has happened several times now and this is our last straw. We will be switching to MSUFCU where they know what there doing and beat ANY rates LakeTrust has. See ya!
