Aloha Cookin': what do users think?
B Grzesiak: Super staff, delicious food, very clean and different. The Poke is awesome, loved the dumplings and especially the Spam Roll.Shrimp was cooked perfectly and Kalua Pork was another outstanding dish.Mahi Mahi was top notch.Aloha Cookin' will be on our regular rotation now!!!
Zach Garrett: Yea, it's that good.
Katherine Molnar: Super disappointed my take out Deluxe Poke Bowl didn't include any avocado, and not much seaweed or edamame. Otherwise tasted great.
Steve B: This is a little slice of Hawaiian Heaven!!!Please don't sleep on this place 🙏 so much to offer. Extremely clean 👌 👏 🙌Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Laurie Brinker: The panko chicken was perfectly cooked. The rice is nice and sticky. Loved the ginger soy dipping sauce. Miso soup was delicious.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to ground floor level entryDietary restrictions: I'm allergic to peppers and there were plenty of options for me to choose from.

Reed Turchetti: We had a great dinner, lots of good food, friendly people, relaxed environment and they have really good coconut donuts!Vegetarian options: Great options!
Alex Bane: I used to live in Korea for nearly 5 years, and I've been struggling to find a decent Korean restaurant in the area. I have sadly yet to find one, but Aloha Cookin definitely fills that void. Hawaiian barbecue is quite similar to Korean barbecue in many aspects, but you won't get any sides of garlic or kimchi or lettuce wraps. What you will get, however, is an explosion of FLAVOR! This place has THE best short ribs and barbecue pork I have ever tried! Their mac salad is heavenly as well. Kudos to the chef. 👏
BilliJo Tourtillott: A few of us drove from out of state just to visit this restaurant. It did not disappoint!! It took me back to being back in Hawaii. The food was just like what you would get at the local eateries on the island. We all shared loco moco, katsu chicken, fried pork dumplings, Kailua pig, macaroni salad, garden salad with lemon ginger dressing, chili chicken, huli huli chicken, and huli huli wings (we went there on two different occasions). Everything was delicious. I was sad that we couldn’t try their Spam misubu, but it was due to circumstances beyond their control. In addition, the atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
John McCann: As someone who has lived in the Lansing area his whole life, I’m not kidding when I say this is East Lansing’s greatest gem. Everything from the buttered shrimp to the fried mahi and chicken katsu was outrageously good. The shrimp is the best I have ever had anywhere! Highly recommend and probably the best East Lansing/Lansing has to offer. Five stars
Anthony Nye: This is a great place for Pacific Islander cuisine! A friend and I found this place by chance and we glad we tried it. Definitely going to go back.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Steamed Dumplings, Kalua Pig Special Plate …More
Jairus Gerona: Has a great setting, the music is relaxing, and most importantly the food is out of this world! So good and never that busy, food comes out immediately.
joe got that: Amazing food great quick service and over all I wish I could rate it a ten because of how good this place is love it!!!
Sandeep Banik: Aloha Cooking primarily serves Hawaiian cuisine and is located in downtown East Lansing, beside BAPS.I went in for a poke bowl and they offered tuna, tuna and salmon, or veggie poke bowl, which came with a miso soup and a choice of sauce.Atmosphere and Decor: The restaurant looks neat and clean, with a warm and quiet atmosphere. The seating is the classic booth, which seats four. The restroom is relatively clean and spacious.Service: The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food came out quite quickly, and they were able to leave out certain items from a particular dish if you have any allergies.Food and Flavors: The poke tuna bowl was delicious, with very tender tuna and a great mix of flavors with the veggies and rice. The roasted sesame sauce was a great choice for this bowl. The poke bowl with miso soup is a big meal for one. The restaurant does not serve any alcoholic drinks.Price: The price is on the higher side for an entrée, but considering the quality and quantity of food, it was a great experience. Conclusion: The restaurant's location is great, and the staff is friendly. The food was delicious, and we had a great time.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian poke bowl available.

Shannon Hardy: The food was amazing this place can trow down on soul food. Will be going back..husband had pork chop dinner and I had the ribs..great..
Tiffany Ann: Love the BBQ the side are bomb it be hard to find a place with dressing good dressing at that ...
Matt Ross: Everything i have tried (ive been trying a lot) has been above my expectations.. I cant help but feel that all of the negative feedback doesnt understand the soul part.. Tips (ribs), wings, greens, cabbage, ox, beans, okra, and especially the pork chops(sandwich) are the best u will find in lansing for soul food.
Lisa Larson: I googled black owned restaurants in celebration of Black History Month. Capital City Soul Food was closest to my home. Because if Covid, the menu was cut back. I ordered catfish, collard greens, and mac n cheese. There was enough for two meals! All of it was delicious. The corn bread was still warm and so moist. I will most definitely be visiting there again. Great job !
Tyrone Scott: Good food
Lavette Combs: Jumbo where?? The wings aint nowhere near jumbo, greens salty, mac n cheese dry. Next time i travel here. I will not be visiting here again.
Michelle Walls: Food was pretty good. I ordered ahead so I didn’t have to wait. Will definitely eat here again. I looked forward to reviewing after reading other reviews. Being from Detroit where there are many souls food styles I was concerned about the amount of negative complaints like Lansing has other options. Typically you find the SF made how you like and eat there. Either way this one was pretty good to me. I’d recommend it for sure.
BillieJo McGuire: Travel over 30 miles to get this delicious soul food
mike wills: Good food.
fortnite God barker: Love this restaurant!! It’s a must try you won’t be disappointed!!
LEWIS HOSKINS: Everything was wonderful the food was great the service with great

Mike Canada: A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.....soul food my azz.
Mario Rich: Good
Donna Arnold: One of my best place for a pork dinner.
William Wooten: Meat is in the majority of the vegetables, baked macaroni was delicious however
Mikayla McNair: They catered an event at my school and it was delicious 🤤The owner is sooo nice as well! Great service! Great food!

Michael Simmons: Hey Doug! No, I don’t really know you, but our waitperson was Ginger and she told me you own People’s Kitchen. Thought I’d personalize this review! Just had breakfast with my beautiful partner and we agree this was an excellent meal! We had the pancakes and Still Ain’t Broke. Eggs made perfectly and that lemon butter on the cakes was amazing. Sausage was also very tasty.Oh, and the coffee was the best! And, and Ginger was very friendly and provided all the answers we needed in making our selections and she kept the coffee flowing. Thanks!
N M: This was an experience. A very artsy relaxed feeling upon entering. I loved how happy and friendly the staff was. My whole family was in love with each dish. I recommend everything as we pretty much ordered one of each thing on the brunch menu. My family wants to come back to try the dinner.

Waiter has been cute the last two times I went too so the views ain’t bad either lol!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Hailey: Great and friendly staff. We had to wait about 10 mins for a table of 4 on a Saturday morning, but they did estimate about 30 mins. They do not have gluten-free bread or batter. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast potatoes, they reminded me of a Thanksgiving meal, lol. But my friends like them. Overall, cool place!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
RG Harden: Attended the wine dinner and they did a great job pairing the entry with each wine. Also go to PC for dinner and have never been disappointed.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Etta Abrahams: The most wonderful expansion of the East side of Lansing for me has been The People’s Kitchen. It’s atmosphere has a lovely grittiness about it and one feels entirely at home in whatever one chooses to wear—dress, denim or drag. But most important are the food, wine and service. Whether for brunch, lunch or dinner, in small or larger groups, every morsel I’ve eaten and sip I’ve imbibed has been transportative. The servers are prompt, knowledgeable and attentive. The chef changes the menu seasonall it seems. Yes, prices are up there, but the experience is worth it. Not fit for a glutton but for those who appreciate reasonably sized portions of finely prepared foods.Be sure to try one of their special wine tasting or beer tasting dinners!Parking: Lots of parking behind and across the street.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to restaurant.
Justin Kirkpatrick: Hands down the best restaurant in the area. Haven’t had a bad dish ever, and I often bring out of town guests for dinner. Cocktails are always inventive and fresh. Highly highly recommend.
Mandy Dittmer: Some of the best food in Lansing! Love their pancakes and chicken sandwiches among other things…just an excellent establishment that you must try!
Kyle Parkllan: The food tasted great, and the service and atmosphere was very cool. I would recommend looking at the menu beforehand, as the prices and entrees have changed (understandable) since the last time we visited. Two separate parties were seated next to us and left after looking at the menu claiming they couldn't addord it. The server was so kind and did provide some local recommendations which I'm sure helped what was likely an uncomfortable feeling. We ordered two entrees, no drinks, apps or desert and it was $87 before tip. Unfortunately the portion sizes left us hungry.I'm not saying there's anything wrong with what they charge, but the dinner service seemed to target the high end/specialty dining experience.
Heaven Lee: This place was really good! A bit overpriced, but the vibes are real fun. I got the really fu%#ing good pancakes which were the second best pancakes I've ever had and my fiance got the shrimp and grits which he is still obsessing over days later. The raspberry Daiquiri was not very good, but our mimosas were amazing.Edit in response to the owners feedback: I gave 4 stars for a variety of reasons I did not include because I didn't want my review to deter other customers.I'm personally a vegetarian, I ordered what I did because it was the only thing I saw on the menu that could accommodate to my dietary restrictions. I would love to see the menu be as inclusive as the environment. While our server was super friendly, we barely saw her. I wish she would have stopped at our table one more time to make sure we were doing okay. But it was super busy and I've worked in the service industry so I totally get it, and do not hold anything against our server. But also coming from the food service industry, I was more than alarmed when I saw another server in a different section violate numerous health code violations including handling food with bare hands, not having her hair secured, handling dirty dishes then immediately handling plates that just came from the kitchen without even washing her hands.I also was not a fan of the raspberry Daiquiri because it was not a traditional Daiquiri as I was expecting and it was strong. Not sure if the measurements were off or something, but the flavors were fighting with each other. But that is just my preference, I'm sure someone else would like it.

Noodles and Company: what do users think?
AM V: It’s actually pretty nice for a chain restaurant! Will definitely be back again.
Ashley May: Fast and helpful service, good food qualityKid-friendliness: Have a kids menu with pictures which makes it easy for any kid to choose!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Emily Giedzinski: Jaimie and Adam at Noodles and Co are the best! Very warm, welcoming, and attentive. You can tell this place is run by good management! Food was delicious as expected of course
AD: I received my order through door dash which probably wasn’t the best idea. But when I started eating my bowl, I noticed that the leanguini noodles tasted like they weren’t cooked at all. They were very doughy and I could taste the flour on them. Will not be going here again
Karen Krause: Took a group of 6th graders here after the MSU Poms Clinic. It was busy but the staff did a good job of getting us our food so we could get back on the road. Only issue was the coke freestyle was out of a majority of the flavors.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Jeff Nowak: Great menu. Even for picky eaters. Celiac Friendly too. My only complaint was portion size. Could have added a little more to the bowl.
Upahvan Rai: They literally only get your order wrong. I would seriously never order from here. And order from absolutely anywhere else. Lansing has numerous other non chain restaurants with higher quality food!
EL PARAISO STAR A: Always been one ofy favorite go to pasta chicken noodle soup places. They have a simple yet qualitative menu.. My favourites r penne rosa, their amazing chicken noodle soup & Korean BBQ meatballs@@@ I've had almost everything on their menu, I highly RECOMMEND this place for a quick american Italian or any pasta craver meal;)
Dan McGarvie: We enjoyed it as well as the people watching, the location is great.
Elizabeth Lakes: Fyi there is a $5-ish delivery fee and a min of $15 and the people answering the phone are helpful but not on site
Ryan Eitniear: Very nice employees!!
Erika: Olivia was super awesome and kind when I came in to pick up my order! She helped me find my order and was super nice the whole time!!! Good experience
Chanelle Russ: I live in Okemos near the other location and this one is way better. I've been here 4x the last month and my pasta is always fresher and a nice amount of veggies and cheese. If its the same owner, please help the okemos location get better!
Peyton Bess: Jamie was fantastic!
C: I really wish I could love this place, it's fast and convenient and pasta is like mu favorite comfort food. When I haven't had any issues with my order the food is usually pretty good, maybe feels a bit overpriced but I am ok with it for the convenience. Sadly at this location I have had some issues with my orders. The worst offence was probably when my partner found a few chunks of a plastic bag in his mac and cheese, ew. Additionally several times they have messed up my orders. The staff is usually very friendly and happy to sort things out but it can be time consuming and if I'm spending $10+ on some pasta that I chose because it was a fast option I really like it to be right in the first go. It's happened enough times that I stopped going there for a few months but I have gone twice in recent weeks and noticed a much better quality in correctness so maybe they have had some staff turnover and things a better now. It's definitely not the worst, but considering how many awesome restaurants there are along and near Grand River I often decide to go somewhere else to avoid possible hassle.
Emily: Service is great, it’s noodles, it’s good.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes Curbside pickup: No …More
James Nelon: Not worth the cost.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes …More
Kylie Arsenault: I am vegan so i asked them to not put any meat on my noodles. By the time i got home, i saw the chicken & felt guilty for wasting food but i couldn't eat it. i called noodles co. & told them what happened & they said they would refund my card but that still has not happened & this all took place 3 weeks ago...
James Wagoner: I had a fantastic experience with this place. I take my pasta and noodles pretty serious 😆. Seriously though, the Shrimp scampi penne was off the charts flavorful. I could actually taste the lemon in the scampi sauce. My wife got Orange chicken Lo main. Tender chicken and an orange sauce that knocked my socks off. Both noodles were cooked to perfection. If you have never been and you love pasta and noodles, try Noodles and Company👍🏻
James Lawler: Having not eaten at Noodles and Company before I was pleasantly surprised when I began eating the orange chicken noodle. I ordered and the food was up within 3 minutes. Service was awesome. I had a 20 min drive back to my office. When I began eating the order back at the office I was impressed at the temperature, just right. I say the because the outside temperature that day was frigid. Definitely going back for seconds.

Don't Go: The Mothers day buffet was really good. Service was just ok. Too expensive for what we got!Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Angel Fletcher: Food was really good. Atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. The service was impeccable. Mercedes was our waitress and she was amazing!! She was very attentive and always smiling. I would give the food 4 stars but with the service we received it made our dinner easily 5 stars.
Chelsea Renee: Waited over 20 minutes and left. Not one server stopped by our table to ask for our order or even give us water. I’ve been to One North many times and this has never happened before. I understand that restaurants are short staffed but that was unacceptable.
Kristin Carlson: So excited to try out this venue for the first time! I brought an out of town guest, beautiful weather, gorgeous outdoor seating. We were thrilled with the vibrant atmosphere. Our server was a Peach!!!! Couldnt ask for anyone more delightful! We ordered meat pizza and black bean rice bowl. I honestly couldnt tell you what we were eating if we wereblinded. Absolutely no flavor or savory taste to our meals. Really disappointing! I enjoyed being outside but wont go back for a second food experience. Very steeply.priced for the result.
Jennifer P: Some friends and I were in the area and decided to grab lunch. We decided to sit outside. It might have been a mistake as we felt we were somewhat forgotten-including never getting napkins/silverware long after food arrived, I had to go hunt it down myself. We ordered a couple of the mixed drink specials and each tasted like sour mix with extra lime juice- they were undrinkable. We actually sent them back (which we never do). They kindly took them off our bill and we played it safe with beer on tap. Food was decent- no complaints. Service was rough but the server was new. Maybe it was an off day/time (it was a Saturday afternoon). We would not make a point to return
christine potter: I stopped in late lunch and sat at the bar but the buffet was going on only which I chose not to partake. I had a cocktail and the bartender was fabulous and clearly working his bootie off. He was fabulous. Just want to give him a shout out.
Nicole Simon: My family and I went for Mothers Day brunch and it was a very poor experience. We ordered waters and a couple of coffees and were told they should be out by the time we get back from the buffet. The buffet area was chaotic and all the “warm” food was cold. Several items were empty. The plates were also very small. We got back to the table and had no waters or coffee. The server came back and apologized and told us she would be right back with them. We made another trip to buffet and still no waters. The drinks came shortly after. The server was very kind and apologetic but it was unfortunate. I rarely complain at restaurants but this was not worth $35/person. I recommend you have mother's day brunch somewhere else.
