So I reviewed Google reviews and found Allen's plumbing with excellent reviews. I called and spoke to Allen. He said $200 to snake rhe drain. One day turn around. Was here at appointment time clean the drain. Allen was the utmost professional and courteous. He cleared the drain and cleaned up the area as he found it upon arrival. shelby: I had a sump pump failure with flooding in my basement (4/5/2023). To their credit, Roto Rooter was able to come out very quickly. However, I feel that I was grossly overcharged for the service. I had a new sump pump ($200) installed and a new check valve put in. Nothing else was done as when the sump pump went in, it drained all the water in the basement. I was charged $1,076. My basement was flooding and filling quickly so I paid it but I asked the tech if I would receive a bill with the cost breakdown and he said I would. I did not receive a cost breakdown.I contacted Roto Rooter on 4/6 and asked for an itemized bill and was put on hold for 30 mins. After getting back on the phone all they said was that they would talk to the tech and get back to me with the Itemized bill.It is now 4/17 and have received no word from Roto Rooter. I called to inquire and they again said they will "get back with me". My sump pump and check valve is extremely loud and thumps the floor in my home. Not happy with the service and the responsiveness of customer service.Service:Sump pump repair
Ess Bee: Rating of 1 star due to poor customer service. Did not inform me of drive time cost and wanted payment of $60 at visit. It is a very basic business practice to inform people of costs prior to charging them. Be forewarned if you use them. In addition, cost was very high for quoted service, with only a 1 year warranty and 1 revisit in case of problems. Pretty unfair if you ask me.

John “artsen” Crafts: Some roots grew through my pipe and clogged us out to the street. I called several plumbers in the area and nobody was able to see any sooner than 48 hours. I called Roto-Rooter and someone was out here within just a few hours. He worked quick, cleaned the roots out, and even inspected the line to see how bad the damage was. Nah....I have zero faith in your abilities. Called to discuss my bill as I was not paying $800+ for basically nothing. I was willing to pay for a service call as they did come out and waste my time but the manager would not return my phone calls. I was not rude or disrespectful just wanted to discuss it. Crickets...so I am disputing this with my credit card company. Good luck going against Mastercard...

Within a couple hours they arrived and cleared the main line in less than 15 minutes. They were kind, courteous and listened to what we were telling them. We had this issue 2 years ago so we knew what had to be done.They didn’t make a mess and listened to our requests (keeping the side door closed due to having cats).I would highly recommend them and we live outside of their normal service area (Charlotte) and they still were able to accommodate with a small fee.

Margaret Neterer: They were very responsive to my need for a new water heater. Pleasant experience. Now, almost 6 months later, I found out that they should have pulled a permit. I called about it and was told it would be taken care of, and it was in a matter of about 2 days. Then I called to see what I owed them. It was $100 more than what the Township told me the permit costs. When asked I was told that he had to drive all the way over here to complete the permit. Based on their address, it is maybe 12-15 miles. I asked about a discount since I was the one who called to make them aware if their "error". No go. This is the only reason I rated them as a "3".BOTTOM LINE: Make sure to ask about the permit at the time the work is done 'cause they won't remind you of the need for one. (The water heater was 34 years old and I had not had to replace it since I bought the house. Just never occurred to me that I needed a permit & inspection.)Service:Water heater installation
Lin Li: Our drain is clogged again 5 months later (the house was vacant during this period) after having it sneaked by their technician. We have to schedule another appointment with them and took time off to wait for half a day without anybody showing up nor notifing us about their not showing. When the technician finally showed up another day, we were told that the previous technician misdiagnosed the problem and the clog is within the pipeline inside the house but not in the sewage line. They wanted to charge us again for fixing the problem. Called the manager but he was very rude and basically told us that we are screwed. He then acted like as if he did not want to be here and when showed what needs to be done the guy thought he knew everything. He was suppose to be here at 11 but showed up at 1030. If he had showed up 10 min earlier I would have not been there to let him to see the job. He did not ask about anything either when I was leading him to where the job was at. We have had other plumbers here and they where very nice and asked questions and tried to have conversations about the plumbing and what needed to be done. I would suggest not going with this company at all. Go with shield and sons.

Someone came out the next day.4. Technicians were polite and kind, and knew their job well.Minuses:1. They are a very expensive company to do business with.2. A technician was pushing me through the paperwork, not giving an opportunity to read what I was signing unless I specifically asked.3. The paperwork required me to sign off that the work was done correctly, but there was no way for me to know that, as I am not a professional and no hot water was available yet.4. One of the technicians left for 2.5 hours to presumably pick up the water heater, but on the way went to another customer to give a quote. (I know this from the second technician who stayed at my home and was ready for the water heater within an hour)In all, it appears this company did an expensive but good job (except for the 2.5 hour delay), everyone was pleasant to work with, but I would not do business with them again.Service:Water heater installation

As for the plumbing it went great, no leaks, good pressure and a single faucet is so much better plus they raised the shower, on/off, up a little higher for less of a reach. Installed two outdoor spigots on an old wonky house and they work great! Inside plumbing is neat and efficient. Received a few discounts on the price and it was done in just two hours! Highly recommend Michigan plumbing and Zach.
