shelby: I had a sump pump failure with flooding in my basement (4/5/2023). To their credit, Roto Rooter was able to come out very quickly. However, I feel that I was grossly overcharged for the service. I had a new sump pump ($200) installed and a new check valve put in. Nothing else was done as when the sump pump went in, it drained all the water in the basement. I was charged $1,076. My basement was flooding and filling quickly so I paid it but I asked the tech if I would receive a bill with the cost breakdown and he said I would. I did not receive a cost breakdown.I contacted Roto Rooter on 4/6 and asked for an itemized bill and was put on hold for 30 mins. After getting back on the phone all they said was that they would talk to the tech and get back to me with the Itemized bill.It is now 4/17 and have received no word from Roto Rooter. I called to inquire and they again said they will "get back with me". My sump pump and check valve is extremely loud and thumps the floor in my home. Ess Bee: Rating of 1 star due to poor customer service. Did not inform me of drive time cost and wanted payment of $60 at visit. It is a very basic business practice to inform people of costs prior to charging them. Be forewarned if you use them. In addition, cost was very high for quoted service, with only a 1 year warranty and 1 revisit in case of problems. Pretty unfair if you ask me.

I called Roto-Rooter and someone was out here within just a few hours. He worked quick, cleaned the roots out, and even inspected the line to see how bad the damage was. I was told a specific amount per hour for the work but they did not advise me this was a per person charge and not a per job charge. When I reached out with questions about the bill, I had to call 2 times and email 2 times before I heard any response. When they finally responded they did not answer my questions and sent the bill to collections. If you hire them make sure you ask them to explain the total hourly charge for the work and not just the charge per person, otherwise you may end up with a bill that is double what you expect.Service:Toilet installation

They only charged me for what was relevant to the repair. They were clean, put everything back were it was originally, and made sure to properly re-plug the service lines even with a custom plug needing to be pieced together. The person who came out felt like a used car salesman who quoted me over $4000 to replace most of the pipes in my basement including the main shut offs, which are in fine condition. Very unacceptable from a business I used to trust and rely on. However, after agreeing to have a small part of the work done, the new crew that came out to replace a faucet and install a new a new sillcock was excellent. I don't know if they have a new 'sales philosophy', but the original person who quoted me made the company look bad. The guys who actually did the work were excellent. Jim Dixon: Called around and found that after calling Hedlund and speaking with Michelle on the phone, she came across as very pleasant and eager to get someone out to help. Had an outdoor spigot that froze after installing a 'teflon' Y splitter. They provided a 10% Veteran discount and Justin (tech) repaired the issue scheduled for first thing very next morning - with providing a new one after being able to pry the old 'spot welded' spigot off - all without losing the integrity of the piping coming into the home - which was my major concern trying to physically manhandle it myself with vice grips lol. Not pushy or salesy in any way to upgrade or add services unnecessarily. Fair Price & Professional - highly recommend!

Rod Murphy: With help from Christine when we walked into the main office recently, we got to speak face-to-face with Chris the Service Manager at The Meridian Company. He quickly understood that we could go in any of three directions to select a replacement for our 23-year-old water heater--installed by Meridian. At his suggestion, we agreed to have a veteran technician come out to our house to help us make a final choice.Aaron, with nearly thirty years of service at Meridian, arrived exactly on time with his apprentice Ethan and quickly assessed what could be done and at what cost. He spoke knowledgeably and politely to both of us and answered every question we had.Once Aaron laid out what our preferences were going to amount to if we purchased a new Navien tankless unit and had it installed, he rolled into action. A new NPE series Navien model was delivered from The Meridian Company's stockroom. An electrician, Jack, from The Meridian Company made sure the electrical work was done properly, and later another electrician, Tanner, double-checked to see that the unit would be powered properly and safely.A few showers and a few dishwasher loads into our new relationship with a tankless, energy-efficient water heater, how happy are we? Beaming-ear-to-ear happy! The water heats up quickly throughout our house. The water temperature is exactly what we had hoped it would be and maintains a consistent heat. The Navien unit itself takes up so much less space in our basement and the new copper pipes gleam. Our old 50-gallon water heater was removed, and the area was left spotless by Aaron and Ethan.So simple to use and so much more in line with our need for energy efficiency, this particular upgrade was only possible with the no-pressure help we received from the team at The Meridian Company.
