East Lansing Family Aquatic Center: what do users think?
Christina W: Love this place so much! Really inexpensive nice fun place to bring my nieces and nephews for some good fun in the sun! And for me to cool off to. Its a really nice place and they keep the facilities taken care of as well as the life guards paying close attention to everyone in the pool. Highly recommend!Visited on Weekend Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry $11–15 …More
Erin B: Had my car broken into at this location. It would have been nice if there were cameras!Visited on Weekend Wait time 1 hr+ …More
Cirea Strode: Great place for some water time with the family.! This is newly remodeled and it’s awesome. They have water slides for all ages. There are areas for younger and older children. Great life guards. Food for purchase with a card. Great price. It does get crowded so I would suggest arriving at open if you’re planning a full pool day. Bring your own towels!! The facility was clean and easy to get around.
Melissa Lewis: Kids had a great time. Clean and well kept place. The admission was affordable for 3 and the concessions were a nice bonus.
Jared C: Great time here; would have been 5 stars, but not enough seating for the capacity allowed.
Satara Johnson: It was nice. Very crowded, but the toddler area was calm enough.
kathy dobson: Loads of fun for kids and watching them!!! Had a blast!!! Wonderful!!!!
Lydia Tang: We were really excited to visit the newly renovated aquatic center but were disappointed by a few aspects: 1. It's really far out of town. This is really not accessible for the community. 2. At $10 per person, it can make a family visit much too expensive, again, taking it out of reach for broad community engagement. Purchasing the $60 10-visit pass makes it more palatable but is a high price threshold for a lot of families. 3. There's only one little slide for younger kids, there's not much stimulation within the pool. 4. There is not any shade at all in the outdoor pool. Since the entry price is so high, we planning to stay all day and, even though we used sunscreen, we got terribly sunburnt because of the lack of shade in the pool. We did appreciate the life vests in so many sizes and the zero depth entry for the pool as an inclusive and accessible design.
Alyssa Slocombe: This place was fun we stayed for 4 hours the kids never got tired. It's only $8.00 for residents. Highly recommend
Lindsay: Love this place for little kids! Very Family friendly. CASH ONLY for the food and drinks.
Beneto Desamoto: What is there to say about the Aquatic Center well what can I not say great place great time my kids and wife love it to death as well as I do we've been there coming there for years when we got excited and we found out that it was open we were there multiple times this year and plan on going back again way to go glad it's open
Kathryn Shaw: We love coming here to swim. It’s a highlight of our summer. The East Lansing Aquatic Center is an upbeat, family friendly and welcoming place to be with well trained life guards and great customer service. It’s our favorite local pool.
Todd Vander Galien: They did a great job on the Repairs
Jon Summers: While the facility itself looks really nice, is clean, and well maintained, sadly my family’s experience there was not the pleasant, relaxing one I was hoping for. This is because of some irrational and draconian rules in effect at the aquatics center. The first one that surprised and bewildered me was a rule that no one is allowed to wear life vests in the deeper side of the pool, regardless of age or height, even when accompanied by a supervising adult. This seems very backward and illogical to me (why force kids to be less safe by having to take off their life vests in deeper water?). This was particularly disappointing since the shallow end is very shallow, mostly only a foot or two deep. It is always safest to wear a life vest, regardless of swimming ability, and my two kids prefer and insist wearing them in any pool or lake even though they have completed swim lessons. The second thing I really disliked about the Aquatics Center was how the life guards would whistle and yell loudly at anyone using the frog slide who might be ever so slightly over 48” - constantIy. I understand the desire to keep big kids off the slide for the safety of younger kids, but my sons were just barely over 48” (very tall for their age, 99th percentile for height) and were too scared and unwilling to try the large slides designed for 48”+. Those near 50” should have a choice on which slide they are personally ready for instead of having a strict height cutover; particularly on less busy weekdays where congestion is not an issue and the height difference is very minor. The policy assumes every kid who is 48” tall regardless of age is emotionally ready for the large slides; this is not inclusive. It was also very annoying having to constantly hear life guards yelling and whistling from the other side of the pool every other minute or so about it. If it is that important that kids slightly over 48” never use the slide, there should be a staff member positioned next to it so at least the whole pool doesn’t have to hear the constant scolding while they are trying to relax and enjoy themselves. It was not busy the mid-week day we came; never more than 3-4 kids total (including my two kids) in the frog slide area, all behaving well and close in age, so the heavy-handed constant rule enforcement from the life guards was unwarranted and just leached away what little fun we might have had.Because the deep end was off limits due to no life vests allowed rule, and because my kids were too scared of the big slides, the smaller slide was the only attraction left to them, but because of the arbitrary max height restriction, even that was off limits. This was really disappointing since they really enjoyed the frog slide and it was a good fit for them emotionally, but it only lasted a few minutes before a lifeguard came over and kicked them off because of their arm band, despite being only a couple inches too tall.I feel like we got ripped off given the hefty $11/person entrance fee that only allowed us to sit bored in shallow water simply because my kids are tall for their age, like to wear a life vest while swimming, and as a result don’t fit into the rigidly enforced “one size fits most” policies that don’t allow for any exceptions or flexibility. We had far, far more fun as a family this summer locally at Lake Ovid and Hawk Island (both free or very cheap), and Michigan’s Adventure water park.
Samantha Nesbitt: We all had an amazing time! The concessions were great priced as well. It was a Saturday visit so it was very busy but lines moved quick and we never had an issue finding a good spot to swim. We will definitely be back!
Jack Bowder: Awesome water park has a bunch of good slides for kids diving board, Splash pad concession stand and it's reasonably price. $11 per day for non Lansing residents
any one: Very nice place, you can have lots of fun. The water makes you just want to get in . I love this pool.
Emily Berry-Ball: Didnt realize I only clicked one star... This place is awesome my son and nephew had a great time.. we will be coming back we have Not a single complaint.. everyone is super friendly and life guards are very cautious and aware.. Thanks!! you all made our experience a wonderful one.. Loved The dance party session👍👍👍👍👍👍
Terri Gregory: So happy they reopened!!!
Lisa Betts: 2nd time in a week...we love it ...coming back on Sunday 😁
Kay Sanderson: I was a little disappointed by this aquatic center. We only went because we were invited to join friends of my children. It is good for kids who are older, or maybe just taller. You had to be 48 inches to do any of the water slides and things. The splash pad was okay, it was really small and didn't even entice my 3 and 4 year old to go in it once. I was really bummed because we went after 5 pm so I thought tickets would be half off. When I looked at their website prior to leaving it said non resident tickets were $11. However, when we arrived at 5:10 PM we were still charged $9 per person. I thought that was a lot for my 3 and 4 year old who only waded in the small pool. its just as far away as Millennium Park in GR from my house. I would much rather pay (less) to get in their than return to the Aquatic Center.

East Lansing Hannah Community Center: what do users think?
jennfer elise: I've only been there to do open swim. The pool seemed fine, but for some reason, there was very loud music playing, which I'm sure contributed to my 19 month old granddaughter being nervous. Kids playing loudly was totally expected, but the loud music was unnecessary.Plan to try again because we'd like to get her into swimming lessons. There also wasn't any clear signage about changing areas or anything. Just signs saying to shower first, but the shower water was ice cold, and the door didn't lock either. Hopefully, we just went to the wrong place.I'll definitely be looking into other options. Basically, we went through a lot (getting everything together, buying new swim diapers, loading up, driving, and paying money) just to be disappointed.
Kara Grace: Cost effective gym option if you want to swim! My favorite work out is lap swimming, but the options are scarce in the Lansing area unless you want to pay a high cost or are lucky enough to live close to the Alfreda Schmidt Center (free lap swims!!). I found this community center near my home and with a payment plan as an out of district resident I pay $25 monthly for access to the pool and to the gym! The gym has minimal equipment and is fairly small, but it works for my desire to get active and try some things out. The pool is gorgeous and always fairly warm, the locker rooms are also well maintained.
Tamera Thuma: I enjoyed a theatre production on the property. Very nicely kept grounds.Inside was very clean.Restroom was very clean.Overall a very pleasant experience.
Hien Dalat: Wow, I experienced a lot of 'first's here. Firstly, a lady who helped me preserve two swim slots, while being friendly, preserved two slots in April when it's already May. They sent me a receipt with zero charged. I thought it was free. Then the night before my swim time, I realized the mistake, I called but couldn't reach anyone. I tried to fix it with my account online - I was told my account was already registered - but none of the passwords worked. So I asked the system for a password retrieval email. None came. So I decided to come in the next day still, hoping that it's just a weird typo on the receipt. Nope, she actually reserved a day in the past for me. When I explained the situation to the lady at the front desk, she gave no apology at first, she had the audacity to lecture me to check the receipt. Hold up, what kind of software do you use that allows you to preserve past events?? This is a first. Does it still make sense to you that this is still my fault if you preserved a date in 2020 for me?? I had to stop her half way to ask that question. I had to stop her to explain what I tried in vain to reverse the situation. After 20 minutes, she said she's sorry. That should be the first thing that should have come out of her mouth. Because this is still firstly your responsibility. This is not how you do business, letting your customers check for your mistakes.I was really upset, called in to get a supervisor. I got someone who could squeeze me in at 2pm. The front desk lady who lectured me about what time to call in to get issues resolved? Well I called twice to get voicemail. Ok, don't lecture me then. I got there at 2pm, being told I had to pay. Ok, paying is no problem. The problem is the fact that no one had told me, not the lady who helped me preserve the time. What if I don't carry my card with me? I do that when I don't expect to spend. You're getting way too comfortable with the people around here that you assume everyone is in line. There are transitional people; this is a college town, mind you. After my swim, I found out there was no swimsuit drying machine. This is the third first. Never have I been in a swimming center that has no such machine.Three inconvenient incidents within a day is enough for me to pass on using this center again.
David Molenaar: No line to vote at 11:55 a.m. got in and out in 10 minutes
Linda Bennett: Went here to vote Everything was laid out very nicely
Craig Anderson: Used the satellite city clerk location. Quick and easy!!
Ben Eysselinck: It's a crazy year but it's an good place
Brian Hoort: The staff are always so cheerful and helpful.
Keith Evans: Really nice place to walk my dog with lots of bunnies to capture her interest.
Michael Conway: Great East Lansing facility.
Prime Time: A great place in our community!
Roz: Saw Annie. This venue is amazing for theater. And the play was wonderful!
Martha Ann Toy: Pool was nice.
Todd Swales: Great place!
Mary Ann Wagner: Great facility
Sara Grigsby: As a former Hannah student, I will always love this place!!
Rafat Abudayeh: Very reasonably priced activities for the community, swimming, ballroom and other physical activities.
Megan Steiner: Saw a lovely ballet show
Dina Ab: I did my daughter open house. Very convenient
Gary Schafer: Love this place

Westside Community YMCA: what do users think?
Diana Huntley: Enjoyed the water aerobics class
Tamera Thuma: Parking lot well kept. More equipment than former Y we used to visit.
Kayla Rivera: The staff have always been nice so thats not an issue but for the pricing this place asks its not worth it. It has not been updated since i was here as a child so assuming since it was built! The water slide has not been up an running since we got a memership months ago neither has the rock wall! We got the membership for the swimmimg an the water slide for the kids The pool is not always open for family swim an if it is irs not long the steam room smells moldy. So we will be canceling our membership as i dont see the point in keeping it….. seems like this place is falling apart
Jeremy B: Cleaner than the oak park location but alot busier.
Mr Handsome: Recently moved here from Detroit. In my opinion it's the best ymca in Lansing. If you want to play basketball save get a good room in this is pretty much your best option. I honestly feel like it's a bigger is better situation at this location.
Ali Abdul-Wahab: The hours at this YMCA are not great compared to most other YMCA's. They used to be open much earlier and later. They reduced hours due to COVID, wich is understandable, but the pandemic is easing and they haven't restored hours. The facility is pretty clean and the staff is friendly though. They have a lot of feature and equipment. Including a pool, steam room, and dry sauna. The membership fee is decent as well.
John Dolbee: Very helpful and friendly staff. My membership was all messed up and they took care of me and let me know what I needed to do to fix it. Clean facility, pool was in good shape now over crowded or overly chlorine treated.
Erin Pratt: Love the Y - so many community and youth programs. I go as often as I can for the great pool, always clean and warm with a TON of open swim hours. I love the sauna and steam room on a cold day. Can’t wait for the slide to be fixed (almost there!). The facility is old but clean and a lot of different fitness options. Worth the membership!
Ann Lynch: Ko ko
Terrance Cox: I'm a Silver Sneakers member at this facility. The building is large with two stories. The location is in an area that's tucked away in a nice treed location. Plenty of parking.I can't say enough about this facility from it's lobby with a small snack area and vending machines to the front desk crew. They are polite and knowledgeable of this facility. It is well secured well monitored cameras and manned security on site. From a roller rink and one mile walking track to areas for boxing and handball. The five lane pool is open for all along with a smaller area for kids. It has a slide too. The machine room and weight areas are generous. Enough space for equipment for usage with plenty to choose from. All types of bikes. Weights. Nautilus and more. Classrooms for instructional sessions. Large men's, women's and family locker rooms. Showers, saunas and steam rooms in each. Can't say enough about this particular facility and the Silver Sneakers program and their association with US YMCAs.
Jon Stieglitz: Stopped in to look at a family membership. Lots was going on and the staff was still friendly. Can't wait to join.
Lzz Johnk: I got a membership here for the pool and would go a few times a week. The staff is friendly and helpful. The locker room was always clean, although several of the lockers are kinda warped or busted. They have a steam room and a sauna. If you go in the middle of the day, there's usually a lane free for lap swimming. People are nice and will share lanes if it's busy. Most of the lifeguards are attentive and professional. Overall I like this pool a lot, but from time to time it was a little dirty.
Elizabeth Scheffel: "Westside is the best side, pushing phat rides," Montell Jordan once said. And he was right.
Jesse Krewson: A great place to engage the community and practice a healthy lifestyle!
Jonathan C Gonzalez: It was okay took my kids to the pool and the lifeguards seemed miserable
Pwr Mvs Music Group: Everything is good except for the men’s locker room. Please remodel this next! It’s a bacterial cesspool with all the moisture and outdated shower amenities.
General Fresh: Broken gym floor, unused skate rental, old equipment, rock wall that's never open, kiddy pool slide has never been open for as long as I remember. Improvements are in dire need I barely want to spend my money then they raised the membership I'm low-key offended but my health is more important I just hope this Y turns around cause as of now I'm highly disappointed and always tryna find a better experience elsewhere but the close proximity and the available amenities keep me. I like the sauna, the steam room, and the hot tub. If it's money let's pray that Kyle Kuzma donates a million to the westside YMCA of Lansing. PS the children's summer camp used to be A1 before COVID, after there was a major regression, the choices are no longer abundant, and the spots are much more limited which is a staffing thing so it's understandable.
Tasha Warfield: I like it...steam room was very outdated though.
Melodie McDorman: Oak prak
Noname noReason: No good
Willie Peters: I love coming to YMCA because being a barber/tattoo artist at another Planet hair studio I always make new clients there looking for a new home no long lines no long wait located next to Biggby coffee and we’re great with the kids🤩🤩🎯✅

Spare Time Entertainment Center: what do users think?
Lee Esch: Food is overpriced, the pizza reminded me way too much of Digiorno. The bowling alley is very nice though.
Paula Stephens: Went in for a soda since I was stuck at Tuffy next door and no pop machine. The bartender was even sweet and gave me a quarter so I could use all my change to pay for the pop.
K D Flagg: Attended an event sponsored by the Omega's.
Katie Boden: We were in town for a horse show. Looking for fun things to do with our daughter. The amount of things they offer here is amazing. We did a breakout room, bumper cars, arcade. We didn't even have time to bowl or play volleyball. The arcade was clean and had SO many cool options to play. Very well done.
Justin Garcia: $30 an hour $4 for shoes
Steve B: This place was absolutely fabulous.. The staff was extremely friendly. They made it very easy for us to have A-blast. I would recommend This place to anybody with small kids or teenagers for a birthday party or just a fun get together.. They have so many games in their arcade surely will not let your kids down.
Nina Garza: It has always been a great place to bowl the food at the snack bar area is ridiculously overpriced. I ordered a 14" or 16" pizza, 2 orders of boneless chicken, and 2 pitchers of soda, and it came up to $84.00
presyce rogers: Good times!!!!
robert bradford: Great time
Bill Richardson: Good service good people. Treated us well and made the event great!
wes hood: Good family fun.
B Rich: Very dry lanes, very expensive compared to other places.
Marie Reeder: I don't do reviews usually, but I wanted to share my experience. The customer service that my family received today was phenomenal. The man who ran the register to get us the lane, the man who was serving drinks and food and the woman who redeemed tickets were all amazing. This was an incredibly kid friendly experience and I will never go to any other arcade or bowling alley. I highly recommend Spare Time.
Alex Ellis: It's a busy place most days, but they have always treated us well! Definitely recommend!
Dana Ester: I am not sure why I gave this place one star. I believe at the time there was a employee scamming ppl credit cards. Honestly this place is the fun place to be. Activities for all ages and they just keep getting better. So 5yrs later I am giving it 5✨
Ash E: If I could give it ZERO stars I would. Incorrect scores, lanes closing mid game, lanes just plain breaking in the middle of a game and having to go to another lane and then THAT one being broken too! Terrible and stressful experience, had to leave because it was unbearable to play and get the wrong scores constantly.
Sara: Sat and waited for 30+ min without any acknowledgment from the server. It wasn't very busy, either. Left and was served right away at City Limits.
Susan Burke: Nice, clean, family atmosphere & the pizza my friend and I shared wad delicious.
Nicole Bell: This was the worse experience I have ever had. The service was horrible and slow. Our waitress was rude, did not refill anything ever. Was not told about the automatic tip of almost $40 that was not at all deserved. Over priced greasy burgers and pizza was served. The alcohol drinks served were disgusting. 10/10 do not recommend this place to nobody.
james schonfelder: I dont normally complain but the service was terrible. On top of that 3 drinks, 2 tenders and some fries cost $70! What a waste save your money for another attraction!
Meister: The escape room was fun but the rest of the place seemed dumpy. Arcade was really overpriced. Our lane kept reseting pins incorrectly or knocking them over, and the score counter was wildly off

Court One Athletic Clubs: what do users think?
YNS Solo: Website is no e. I got the info I needed. I will be there soon
Robert Hopkins: Clean. Great availability of courts. Facility is mostly all newer equipment.
Taisha García: Great place for playing basketball in winter.
william fich: Been going here for years and the rules have changed a lot over the years to revolve around other guests and play favorites,I've seen grown men get in fights and lead to someone bleeding from his head before as well as grown men trying to get into fights with children and calling the kids very vulgar words even though it's the grown men causing the problems most of the time from what I've seen and the staff are rude a lot of the times
xia jia: I like to play pickleball here, but the floor is a little too slippery. I think it is not safe to pay pickleball. Especially we have many senior players.
Mackenzie B: I have never left a review before, and I feel an obligation to review my experience at Court One. We called ahead before driving across town to come play pickleball. Over the phone no details were shared that all participants over 18 needed to present ID. When we arrived, most of our party did not have IDs since we drove together. The man behind the desk was highly unprofessional and rude in stating without an ID, there’s no entry. Fair enough rule for liability, however this should be communicated clearly on the website and over the phone. We were very surprised to find out the man behind the desk was the manager given his poor customer service and arrogant attitude. The rude responses back to others’ reviews reinforce and reflect the poor customer service we experienced. Court One lost our business.
Katelyn Bontrager: If I could give this place zero stars I would, but that’s not an option. Manager was rude, unprofessional, and down right degrading. When we called they didn’t say anything about bringing ids for non members, but when we got there they said we had to have them. We were willing to sign waivers, but he says that ids are required and that they just figured everyone would have their ids on them. Was very condescending about the whole thing. Unprofessional and very unhelpful. Good way to make sure people never come back.
Alexa Henslee: Extremely rude customer service.
Nick Bontrager: Heads up!!! Requires an ID from all people before playing pickleball on their courts. We called ahead of time before we made a 30 minute drive to play and the person that answered the phone did not let us know this was a requirement to enter. All 6 of our players were willing to sign waivers to help ease their liability concerns but that wasn’t good enough. The manager was rude and downright unfriendly about the whole situation. Will not be back.
Paul Chung: It was nice to use basketball court and Since October Theres lot of senior peopls using basketball court for pickel ball There were more than 10ish people. Please limit the pickle ball player using basketball court.Update: They me option of terminating contract without penalty and refund december membership. I liked the court and other gym equipment.
Ardhi Subowo: They call and they say they can do non members on the phone and they lie saying that’s not their number.Shady customer service wouldn’t recommend
Richard Lehman: Really enjoy playing tennis here.
Ginger Metevier: Grew up here and met my husband here!
August Burchard: Clean, well maintained facilities with kind staff. Maddie and Gracie were stupendous.
Scott Foreman: They are working hard with the members during these troubled times, can't wait to get back to normal !
Melissa Spadafore: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Lori Chapman: Very nice. So clean. Hardly ever crowded.
Shelbie Lynn: Have not been to the place in over a year. They say they will stop charging me $9 month to “hold” my membership. Then the next month I am charged $9 every month. Would not recommend anyone who doesn’t plan on going to this gym for life to sign up for a membership.
Statie R: The treatment by management and staff at this location is becoming unbearable. I can't take my mask off even on the sidelines, but if I cross over to the pickle ball side I can watch without my mask 🤦🏼‍♂️ we have 47 people in our private FB group🧐 that we use for communicating about when we want to play together. We were playing 3-5 days a week prior to the pandemic. We Just Want To Play Ball and this is how it's going to be. Maybe it's time for a change?
Kody Kokx: Unless you want to get COVID I would not even come close to this place! They have anywhere between 5-20 people playing pickleball not wearing any type of mask and no concerns for the general publics health. In addition- the reply & information provided below is false- I have evidence of 15/20 people using the same ball playing pickleball with ZERO mask- meanwhile myself & 3 others playing basketball have our mask on... local law enforcement will be notified by the others to ensure safety protocols are met by these business’
Andrew Mcelfresh: Nice well kept area. The pool is nice and clean

Sparrow Michigan Athletic Club: what do users think?
Brian Klotz: Love the MAC
Susan Martin: It's where we go for our medical doctor. There are many different things there such as medical equipment fitting, some rehab programs I think. Not sure what else. However the building itself is terrible if you're in a wheelchair. Threshold in is so unlevel that we had a terrible time trying to get over it. Several HEAVY interior doors do not have automatic openers?! If you don't have another person with you you'd have to call someone for assistance. And the doors with sensor openers don't usually work. Not disabled accessible in my opinion.
Noah Landon: Amazing. I’m a GAC member so I get one free day a week here, and my friend goes to MSU so whenever I visit I have the opportunity to use this facility. It’s massive, bigger than GAC. Staff is great, and I’ve never had a problem in the dozen or so times I’ve been. Super clean, awesome facilities, perfect gym.
mohammad torabi: This place is always nice. The only issue I have has been the fact that they reduced their hours during COVID and used it as an excuse to never go back to the original hours. When you message the management they are careless and basically respond with we don’t care what you think type of deal.
Chase: I am sharing this approximately 3 years after I graduated from State. There are times I still think about this gym. I live in Los Angeles and nothing compares. I love and miss you MAC.
Steve Underwood: Good indoor track
Brendan Watson: Winter 2023 update: Facilities are often in disrepair, closed, etc. When you call the club ahead of going and ask about specific facilities you're told they open, only to arrive and find them closed. The locker-room/restroom facilities are often not stocked with basics, have overflowing trash, and so disgustingly dirty that my children don't want to use them. All you hear from "management" are constant excuses while things get worse and worse.Spring 2022 update: I visited the club as a guest. The MAC hasn't gotten any better about maintaining the club. Bathroom trash was overflowing, no shampoo in shower, and could have written my name in dirt on the floor. When I raised these concerns with membership office, staff was defensive and argumentative. New leadership apparently is leading the club down the same, warn path downhill.Previous review: MAC has gone way down hill. Cleaning before COVID was atrocious. Now during COVID they want to force members back to the club or charge them a "hold" fee of $28/month?? This is what the club considers "customer service." Even when COVID is behind us, it's going to take a lot to convince me that the increasingly overpriced membership is worth it to return.
Marie Dotson: Great classes
Richard Gilchrist: Unfortunately I need to change my review. The MAC is no longer my happy place. I wrote an honest review to the annual member survey and got slammed, getting told my opinion didn't matter. I just don't understand why you do a survey if you don't appreciate the answers.I am joining the ranks of the long term members that go and complain about everything, until I find a new club to join.
Michael Mumaugh: On the pricey side for membership but worth it if you have kids interested in group sport activities. The coaches are great.
Amanda Zhang: I had my membership since 2018. Since pandemic, I moved out of state and I keep my virtual membership to connect with MAC coaches since they are the awesome. At the beginning, it didn't run well due to Wifi connection issues. It seems this year it's getting better. They use Fitness on Demand to manage their online lessons. However, it ran into issues there such as missing online lessons posted. When it happened, I called MAC and the customer service can't help. It was terrible with today's experience. The person answering my call does not understand virtual membership at all. He kept telling me there is a problem with my membership that he can't add me to class reservation. I explained I'm not asking for in person lesson reservation. It's for online lesson. I spent 30 mins to explain and he finally told me he can't help. It's completely waste my time.
Mary Ellen Lowe: Even though it's a busy place, we always find parking. Whether it's swimming, working out or playing ball, there's something for everyone.
Jude Hoogterp: Karen lady kicked our team off the balcony while watching our team compete in the state championship. Disrespectful. 😟
shera Brown: Very nice staff
Helena Bezant Niblett: You must use the booking app at midnight if you want to book a tennis court for rec play after work. ( 5 pm - 8 pm) Coaches often block out the courts, leaving just three courts or less for members to use at peak times. Impossible to have a regular weekly game. #tennisplayer
Heather Harrison: As the only hospital-based health club in Michigan, the MAC claims to be committed to improving the health of its community. While wheelchair users may be able to get through the door, the pool and equipment are largely inaccessible. Additionally, much of the facility has narrow pathways with sharp turns that are difficult to maneuver in a wheelchair. Though the pool does have a lift, it still requires a certain amount of mobility to use. This restricts many people from using the pool even though it is a great form of exercise that allows wheelchair users a far greater range of motion. The facility used to have a far more accessible lift several years ago (in fact, the tracks from the previous lift are still visible in the pool area). Despite being confronted with these concerns, the management still has no concerns about increasing the accessibility of the facility.
Denise Houck: So disappointed. When we joined we hoped to have the grandkids enjoy the slide pictured. It was under repair for the first 9 months. Finally thought today would be the day. Kids were looking forward to it as was I. Nope. No slide on the weekends, short staff . We enjoy the club most of the time but could be better.
Sean Gregory: Amazing amenities, and great staff.
Deanna Lundy: Great I work there
Joel Stephens: The Michigan Athletic Club is easily the best club to come to in the greater Lansing area. These reviews saying that the club is"dirty" and that "you can write your name in dirt" are lies. The club has made great strides in member safety and cleanliness. Like most places they appear to have some staffing issues that make some things difficult at times like the pools (Friday 5/13 prime example), but they're working on it and it's been an improvement since they've reopened. Aside from that, classes are great, equipment is clean and easy to use. Staff are polite and helpful. Great place!
Kaitlin Jackson: My family loves the M.A.C.! My husband told me about this place he use to attend and love awhile back Then one day my son had a birthday party to attend here and we have been here ever since All the people here are amazing. The classes are great. Great friend have been made here. The restaurant inside is delicious. Smoothies are yummy.

Hope Sports Complex: what do users think?
cheri staples: We came here for a quick bite and we’re really impressed! We didn’t even realize there was a restaurant on the facility.. it was clean and really well decorated.. the blackened chicken tacos were delicious.. and the turkey avocado croissant was a substantial and also delicious! We will be back!
CAUCASIANBOB PARVIN: Always cold and windy nice complex.
Sally: Can get a little crowded on soccer days. Bathrooms are nice. It would be helpful if the fields were better labeled. But a very nice place to play and watch soccer.
Mike Rogers: Large complex with plenty of fields (including a stadium), good bathroom facilities and even a good place to lounge and eat!
Bad Wolf: Went there with my wife to use coupon from Groupon, where they are listed as participating. The waitress said they don't accept them but we aren't the first to come in with them. So why the lie Cleats?
Christina Martinez-ochoa: Love live soccer !
Chris Stimson: Very well maintained soccer facility. On-site restaurant and bar is a plus.
LOUIS-MARIE ENGOULOU ABOMO: Amazing!!! So clean and organize!!! I love it II like that place and soooo easy to drive in There Thru the Aisle ,the access is well done!!!
Tom Hensley: Plenty going on here to Keep you busy. Great place for organized sports!
Mi WineGuy: Fields were in good shape. Parking not too bad. Good bar and food
Thomas Daugherty: Hope sports arena is like all other grassy fields the kids play sports on. It did have a nice bathroom area. Also a concession area that was a permanent structure with outdoor seating.
Al Kach: Hope Sports Complex hosted the MLL Lacrosse tourney for 14U and under ages.Great Fields and plenty of Parking 🅿️. Bathrooms, porta-potty around the grounds and concessions building with various hot and cold options. Definitely Recommended.
DeAnna Clark: Delicious food!
Anita Snider: Was a very nice place to go watch my great Niece play soccer
Jimmy Thompson: Great Sports Complexe
Joshua Bonilla: Fantastic venue with really good food.
mike lav: Fancy soccer fields and nice restaurant
Nathan Germay: Soccer fields were in good condition. We were there for. Soccer tournament so it was very busy, but there seemed to be enough space for everyone.
Greg Ann: Has many different sized soccer fields, which are not bad (Also can use for LaCrosse). Crowd should bring their own chairs. In summer i would suggest wearing indoor cleats or good running shoes. (They don't irrigate fields) No metal cleats. From child to adult leagues. A well maintained main soccer field with stands.
VICTOR K MWALE: Nice soccer fields
Codie Tenhagen: Although it's got some mud on fields and is very buggy, this place was a great host to the glli this weekend, decent fields, great parking, bar and grill on site

Hunter Park Pool: what do users think?
Danielle Beachnau: This pool is perfect for a hot day its a pretty big pool and theirs really friendly staff/lifeguards!
Sarah Hillman: The staff was friendly and helpful, and the water was clean and refreshing on a hot day. I'm so grateful we have swimming options in Lansing for the public to enjoy.
jackson ngabonziza: Its a good place to swim
Kathy Kreimer: Love this pool and park very kid friendly
Kathryn Shaw: Every time I come here I am harassed and discriminated against. Even though I checked in at the entrance with my driver’s license, I was still asked “If I was an adult?” and “How old are you?” [Well past the age where it’s appropriate to ask this by the way.] This is one of my least favorite places in Lansing. I can’t wait for the East Lansing Aquatic Center to re-open. I would rather pay money to go somewhere else where I can enjoy swimming without being insulted and discriminated against.
Michael: THE GOODNice Pool, Nice PeopleTHE BADDisrespectful/Rude Staff & LifeguardsA few disrespectful children not paying attention of where they are going.I also don't like it where you enter & they want to search your bag/personal belongings. Especially when all I'm bringing is my swim stuff including my swimsuit, towel & a few bottles of water.I don't like it where they ask you for an emergency contact especially when you are an adult. That's good for young children but not everyone has an emergency contact or anyone in their life. So in other words, if you don't have an emergency contact, you get turned away which is sort of discrimination. What happens if a person doesn't have an emergency contact? Can you give them the number to a Hospital or an ER?Other than this, the swimming time that I had there last weekend was great.
Margaret Bucelli: Clean and friendly helpful staff. Strict with safety as they should be but in a friendly helpful way.
Jane Devota: Great way to spend a hot afternoon. The lifeguards we're in the zone and we met new friends.
barbara saldivar: The staff went out of their way to help me with my handicap patient. They were great.
Michael Coe: For a community pool, this was outstanding. The lifeguards and reception staff were strict with the rules, but wouldn’t you want them to be? They are there to keep everyone safe and they did so with grace and good humor. My kids and had a blast. They loved the rock wall!
Vicki: Nice, beautiful
S. J.: Needs one like this on all sides of townWest South frfr help kids out
rob lamoreaux: nice 👌
Samantha Rinehart: The whole staff was rude and abrasive, even to the toddlers. They searched us and our belongings as if we were entering a state penitentiary with no regard to handling our things with care. Doubt we will take the kids there again this year 😒
Itzbxraa: I have nothing to say except I love this place and I have never had any problems with it
Samantha: Not sure what's up with the employees up front. They had a bad attitude towards everyone when we were all confused as to why they're closing at 7 when on the site it says they close at 8.
Sarah Wright: Public pool that is open after memorial day...deep end with life guards who require you do a swimming test to be in the deep end...cool rock wall to climb if you pass the swim test 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️🏊
Suzanne Croston: Nice trail, gorgeous and crisp
Thomas Allen: Nice splash pad and pool. Right by the park.
Destin Bass: During the day its a really nice place but i woudnt dare go there after dark
Danielle H: Great place for kids to get together and have fun! Great splash pad too!

Lansing Parks & Recreation: what do users think?
Steve Rogers: Friendly staff
James Hunzicker: Maybe unlock some bathrooms at your parks so people aren't soiling them with human waste matter???Also, it is June. How about turning on some water fountains???
Bloomin in Kindness: My kids have some wonderful experiences through the many programs that are offered.
ttall yar: Lots of activities. Friendly staff!
Jennifer Bingham: My kids went to camp here for a couple weeks and then my son got booted for “behavior issues”.My son is on the autism spectrum which was notified to them upfront and in person. They chose to kick him out of camp at the end of a tues and not allow him back for some behavior issues. Understandable if they can’t train their staff well enough to handle all kids. They would not respond to emails from me or my husband or answer the phone for the person I was directed to about getting a refund. So they kept a full weeks fee for camp and after care for both my children when they wouldn’t allow them back. Both kids were super disappointed and heart broken. I had to find last min child care and miss work due to not being able to find anything. My daughter couldn’t go back because I couldn’t take them to separate child care. They also talked negative about my son right in front of him and expected my daughter to have intervened with the behaviors and referred to her just sitting there. She’s 7! We had just moved to Michigan and this is the first impressions we got. Sad that other children who were causing issues and biting were allowed to still come but not my son for his issues.
Virginia Workman: Kids had a blast very clean and in a good neighborhood
Melynda Christle: Thelma is a front line worker, working hard to get our school children fed.. She is an amazing lady..
Jesus Saves: BEWARE! Teachers at "Homeschool Days at Foster" are malicious. Gossiping about your kids being your backs, including confidential information. Untrained staff provides subpar instruction to kids and usually have no clue how to manage kids, particularly quirky ones. Programming is what you would expect from a city that doesn't invest dollars into facilities nor communities. Teachers and staff do not communicate effectively to parents.
Sean Eman: Lame
Joe Nehls: Great park but they won't let you bury your pets there so don't even try.
James: Clean building, friendly and helpful staff.
Parabola “Fuk Sheet Up” 100: The TV show is pretty good
Lauren Clarke: Belly dance classes with Garnett are amazing! The opportunity to learn with a professional who has performed and taught all over the United States is priceless! Lots of fun too!
Melanie Rogers: I have enjoyed taking classes through Lansing Parks and Rec since 2000.
Demphna Krikorian: Love the River Trail
Randy Barton: We have had a great experience with the Park's and Rec sports.

Powerhouse Gym 24/7: what do users think?
Kacey Markarian: Great gym, great staff. Been here for almost two years now. Facilities are generally clean and while it can get very busy at peak hours, I have never had a problem with getting my lift in.
Connor Albrecht: Gym is not well maintained broken equipment is not an unusual thing here. Took over a month to fix toilet in men’s bathroom. If you’re a student at MSU you’re better off lifting at IM west.
Omar Canales: Horrible customer service, I was yelled at for having someone with m and not understanding the policy on guest, if it’s such a issue maybe they should hire someone for nights, not yell at high schoolers and make threats to intimidate them. Only reason I come here is because it’s 24 hr, but after that experience most likely will be dropping my membership due to the lack of customer service and the experience I had IF YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE NOT WORTH IT EQUIPMENT OUT OF DATE, DIRTY, WORTH IT IF YOU CANT GET ANYWHERE ELSE ONLY
akagucciano: This Gym is opened 24/7. It has more of an old school feel to it(vs planet fitness). They have great equipment and heavier weight than Anytime Fitness or Planet Fitness. The staff was very friendly. Also, a good mix of students (MSU)and community folk.
Sam Ansaldi: Great facility! Friendly professional staff and a welcoming environment.
Laura Harvey: This place had a good environment and many machines to work with, but there are consistent struggles to find an open squat rack. Also I did not appreciate the customer service when a person said “theres nothing we can do about that” after charging an additional month after going in to cancel the membership in the month prior. Maybe this is common gym practice, but I was unaware that this was going to be charged again and I’m not in town to use it. Kinda unfortunate way to take money from their customers :(
Wireman Neo: Great, *great gym !! Especially for the price.
robert henderson: Good variety of weights and equipment, but as you can imagine from the location, it's very crowded. Or I should say it can get very crowded at peak times
Niccolò Seilo: Love this powerhouse and I’ve made so many awesome relationships here. The only thing missing is a straight pull up bar. They have pull up bars that are separated but not a single consecutive pull up bar anywhere. I want to practice my muscle ups but I can’t do this with the separated pull up bars at the squat racks at all. I strongly recommend getting one because I really want to perform this exercise at my favorite gym. I literally can’t perform this exercise without one and I’m surprised that a gym as good as this one doesn’t have a single straight pull up bar.
Jeremy Sawyers: Awesome staff, great place to work out. They have everything you need.
Nick Gargurevich: one of the best local gyms.
Ian Varquez: Gym is great for Bodybuilding and Powerlifting but....When I first moved to East Lansing this was the gym I chose to go to. Close to my apartment, lots of equipment, and Open 24 hours. But as time went on I realized this Gym was not meeting my needs. I like to compete in Strongman and Powerlifting and like to train functional strength. And I think this gym is missing some of that. The Functional Training Area is quite small and equipment wise is not that varied in my opinion. For someone who likes and needs to do farmer walks, and sled work there's not much space to play with. Sure there is a long strip where you "could" do farmer walks but depending on the time of day you go this varies if you can do it or not. This is because this long strip is between the Dumbbells and Machines and if its busy there are going to be people in the way and last thing I want to do is run over someone.Functional equipment that would be nice to have would be, Famer Handles, Heavier Kettlebells, TRX/Suspension ropes, a Log, sled, and an axel. I understand this gym caters more towards powerlifters and bodybuilders so I can't blame the gym for not having those sorts of things. But for me personally it is a turn off for me.The gym is relatively clean and I can't complain honestly but for some reason people just don't return their weights. I used to come early in the morning and weight would be everywhere, I know its not exactly the gyms fault for this but a little more of a push to get it's members to put their weights away would be nice.I have had trouble with some of the equipment, mainly the deadlift platforms and the incline benches. one of the deadlift platforms is not level and it's really annoying when setting up for the deadlift. I have also had the incline benches go down one level before starting a rep or finishing a rep and I think that can be really dangerous if I was in the middle of the rep. Everything else has worked as expected.I have honestly moved on to a new gym that better caters to my needs and if you like functional strength training that aren't as crowded when the MSU students come around M43 and the training Factories will fit your needs much better. Unfortunately through my own fault I am stuck to this gym through a 1 year contract so I am still paying for this gym when it just doesn't fit my needs. If I could sum up my review I would sayPros:24 hoursShowersLots of MachinesDecent amount of Squat Racks and Deadlift PlatformsFriendly StaffGood for BodybuildingGood for PowerliftingCons:Lacking in the Functional Area and Equipment DepartmentYearly contract AgreementsMembers can lack respectBusy during the school yearSome of the equipment could use some careNot Great for StrongmanNot Great for CrossFit
Lawton scarlett: Great place to workout, friendly staff, good equipment, plenty of cardio machines.
Basher Ghaleb: I feel like I got scammed for an extra $30 because of their bogus cancellation policy.
Arianna Paa: staff generally unhelpful - unable to answer questions about account and billing without manager, poor communication. good amount of dumbbells/equipment.
Merideth Michael: Powerhouse is disgusting. Many do not wipe the machines or weights down after using them, and the floors and mirrors have residue. Lack of compassion and customer service from the manager and workers. I am glad my membership ended.
Joel Van Douser: A very complete gym and a very help staff of trainers. Highly recommended for athlete's of any age, size shape or fitness level.
Wesley Nankervis: Plenty of cardio equipment and benches (for dumbbell and barbell), 3 or 4 squat racks, and a wide variety of machines. They also have 3 platforms for power lifting. All of it high quality. The staff is helpful and the people working out are, for the most part, courteous and knowledgeable. Been going here for well over a year and I’m very happy with it!
Tysen Matlock: I love powerhouse and the staff. They are always very helpful anytime I have a question. The gym is always clean.
Ahmed Alyasi: I don’t like the way when they renew my membership without asking me if I want to complete ( renew my membership) with them. I asked them for refund because I don’t want to renew my membership but they use “ system “ as excuse for no refund. I feel like I’m stuck in it.
Kevin McCormick Jr: Awesome and friendly staff, never had a problem with them. Gym itself is nice with loads of equipment. I never find myself waiting too long for a rack/machine to be open if the gym is busy. While they couldn’t do a direct membership transfer from the Clarkston location, Steve was able to cutoff about half of the startup fee for me when I joined the EL location in 2021 which I appreciated a lot! -Kevin McCormick
