Daniel Puentes: On the Rocks has an excellent selection of liquors that you could want to purchase from the East Lansing area. I usually always purchase my bottles here as well as things like mixers. They have them in various sizes as well depending on your needs. I would also recommend checking our their beer selection, which has a lot of Michigan brands compared to other local spots. If they don't have something you were looking for, they usually provide spot-on recommendations otherwise as well. Come here for your next liquor purchase!

Kenneth Roberts: Had a terrible experience with the old lady that works there, she was essentially yelling at me and I was told I’d get a call back with an apology but the old lady never called. They offered it I took my review down they would call and apologize. Hasn’t happened!!

Esperanzita Bonita: Went in to get a brand of hard seltzer I like and this store carries a formidable variety of Michigan hard seltzer in addition to the more popular brands. Huge section of all sorts of spirits. The owner is so polite, super friendly. I love going in and chatting with him, the store is clean and there is so much to see and buy, no matter what you like, what your budget is, what your tastes are- they’ve got something for you.

I walked in and was greeted by the owner who was pleasant and very knowledgeable in all aspects of Bourbon.I had been asking a liquor store in Owosso, for a few bottles that they have yet to obtain. At OTR they not only had them but also introduced me to a few other items that are outstanding!If your in the area stop in and if there are any bottles left of OTR’s Backbone Bourbon they was bottled for them grab, you’ll be very satisfied!

And if they somehow don't have it, they can probably get it for you. Personable, knowledgeable staff that remember you (or at least make you feel remembered) I wish every business was like this!

The owner's knowledge of wines, beers, and spirits is unparalleled, and their passion for the craft is evident in the impressive selection they offer. The customer service was exceptional, with the owner taking the time to answer all my questions and help me find the perfect bottle. lea pierce: This is a terrific wine shop. I was looking for a very specific German Riesling for Thanksgiving, and they had it, at a fair price. The owners have put together a small but excellent and extremely knowledgeable selection that covers literally all the bases, US and international. Also noted that they carry a 5 Puttonyos Tokaji, which means two things: they know what a Tokaji is, and there are locals besides me who appreciate this sticky. I also was grateful for curbside pickup. My new go-to.
Laura Antonius: Great little corner store/wine shop in the heart of Lansing’s east side! In addition to a nice selection of fancy wines (for people who are into that sort of thing), they also have lots of craft beers and a few domestics, some sake, non alcoholic drinks, hard kombucha, charcuterie type meats and cheeses, and normal corner store stuff like cereal and frozen pizzas and ketchup. Super fun to browse through their selection of international foods! Really cute and fun place.

There are a few American wines but mostly you'll find a variety of European, south American, and some Australian wines plus a few others. I recommend you check them out. Nick Thompson: I worked here when the ownership changed. The new owner doesn’t care about his employees and can’t pay anyone enough to care about their job, so naturally things have gone down hill. He had a good staff and wasted the chance to maintain the Oades reputation. They still have a great selection, but can’t seem to keep the store stocked & customer service has suffered.
Kody Kosloski: I forget my mask from time to time while working. I bounce around different vehicles when working etc (I work automotive). I visit this location often (Old Oades). Had a staff member here throw a huge fit about me asking for a mask and begin to tell me how I shouldn't have forgot a mask and it's been over a year with the mask thing. Let me mention to you they offer them for free for this reason exactly and likely the staff member didn't buy them. Guess I'll walk the extra 10ft and goto admiral instead from now on.

Jeff Boyd: This review is for the OKEMOS LOCATION. Stopped in and asked for some specialty bourbons. He said the staff gets first pick and that it's a perk of the job so you're probably not going to find any. He also added we don't like to see just anyone get them. I asked if I could reserve a bottle since others stores I have shopped at will do so. He said maybe if you were best friends with someone who works here but I don't know you so..... sorry. Horrible customer service and store policies. I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

There is a fair amount of choices since the wall is quite long and tall. You can most likely find something to wallow your sorrows, I'm sure if you were kind to them they would also take a special request but I haven't asked so please do not take my word for it. Beer selection is ok - a few local craft beers and the the big national brands - but is dwarfed by the hard seltzer and canned cocktails selection.From what I saw, there was a pretty decent selection of liquor behind the counter. Probably enough to outfit your basic bar, maybe even a home tiki bar. Worth digging into on another trip.Full Disclosure: I didn't bother to look at their wine selection because I figured it would be your standard white girl wasted starter pack (tosti asti, yellowtail, and barefoot), so who knows how it really is.All and all, a decent place to cut your drinking teeth, but probably not the place for a mixology enthusiast or craft beer fan. Still, incredibly solid selection of highly effective potent potables! One note: the place is SMALL, and crowded as hell on a Saturday night, so definitely drop by earlier in the day
