Tay Holmes: Let’s not start with the mold !!! The old pipes that makes your bathroom walls bleed that you have to clean every other day . My rent is 1125 for a one bed but all of my neighbors is 1050 so today we are going to find a new place hopefully I can get out of these apartments asap! I’m going to do the month to month. Til my other place comes through. I do not recommend anyone to move in these for over 1k the rent should be no more than 800 due to old pipes and molding . But the lady Jennifer in the office is nice .
Megan Alexsandrowski: I lived there for 2 years and at the beginning I didn’t have many problems but they used Covid as an excuse to raise my rate over $100 a month. It is way overpriced for what you get. The pool hasn’t been opened in 3+ years, the washers and dryers were always either broken or dirty, the air conditioner barely worked it was always extremely uncomfortable, my floor had to be replaced because it was so cheaply done. Now that I’ve left I still haven’t received my deposit back almost 90 days later. The maintenance men were the only nice thing about this place.

Mau Lee: Probably one of, if not, the worst complexes i’ve ever stayed in. Too many things wrong with the place to be considered quality. Every door inside of my apartment seemed to creek, the closet doors would come off the hinges easily. The flooring is uneven and you can hear through the walls as clear as day, I can hear my neighbor’s phone conversations ALL the time. The lighting isn’t the greatest, most of them not being white but a faint yellow. The water, from the kitchen sink to the shower in the bathroom, is very inconsistent. The pressure never stays the same, and can go from ice cold to hell hot in the matter of a split second. Sometimes it can even leave a smell because i’ve heard the plumbing hasn’t been worked on in YEARS. Cause for PLENTY of skin burns. The walls within the apartment are also paper thin, don’t even have to try to hear what my roommate is doing. Doesn’t come with any amenities inside. no washer/dryer, no dishwasher, no microwave. There is NO insulation inside of the apartment, so what comes in or is created in there, stays in there. You’ll NEVER be able to feel like you fully cleaned the bathtub. Communication between the staff is also very bad. I can find myself waiting DAYS for a response to an email, or I could call the office multiple times and receive no answer, but then would walk over to the office and see management sitting at their desk! POOREST excuse for an apartment, it is literally a space with walls in it.
Jason Harry: Don't rent here, seriously. You're going to pay 1k+ for a box with hollow walls, your water will be affected by your neighbors using theirs (shower go from ice cold to burning hot and back and forth), no laundry in the units and the ones on site are always broken and don't work well (dirty), they haven't had the pool open in 3+ years, the area to bbq is a plastic table with rusty poles and is chained to the public park style bbq, the bathtubs are coated in a material the flakes off so you'll never be able to actually clean your bath to bathe in it. Low water pressure, and this is all in a new remodeled unit. Also the flooring is a cheap tongue and Groove that wasn't done correctly so there are lifted points the float so when you step the floor goes up and down. There's more to list I just don't want to waste anymore time or money on this place so that's my review. Good luck on finding you're future home.
Kayla Kottra: The worst apartment I have ever lived in. Everything in the unit was cheaply done. Faucets were like plastic and broke from normal usage. Air conditioning unit burnt out after less than 1 year of living there and maintenance said they usually have to replace every year. Anytime it rained water would leak out of the ceiling fan and light in our bathroom - I was in a second floor unit so I know it wasn’t from a neighbor above me. Also the water in the shower would go from freezing cold to scorching hot without warning and I didn’t even touch the knob. There were many times I burnt my skin in the shower from this. There was also birds living in the roof outside my unit. The worst part about it all was Jennifer Ward from the leasing office. If you need a response from her don’t hold your breath. It took over 2 weeks just for her to forward me the updated lease when I added someone else to my lease. I followed up numerous times during that time frame and only received a response once I cc’d someone else who worked there. Don’t bother calling the office to leave a voicemail because you won’t get a call back. For the price they charge it’s ridiculous that they have such poor leasing management and unsafe living conditions. The only nice thing I have to say about this place is for the maintenance staff. They were always very friendly and quick to fix any issues when I called them.

Jonnie Dennis: I have never had a problem with anything here. I put in maintenace request and they were answered in an appropriate time. I have never had a problem with management either. I know that communication is the key but some tenants need to remember that we live in an apartment not a house. Let the children out to play and not in the apartment over other tenants head. I love my place I don't believe I'm going anywhere soon 🙏🙏🙏

Braxton Steward: I went to look at a unit and though the unit itself was beautiful the service and the grounds of the complex was horrible. My viewing was for 1pm, I called the phone a billion times to confirm which unit to go to, and I didn't get answer until 1:37pm. When I finally it to the unit that was supposed to be left unlocked, it wasn't, I called the phone an additional 3 times before a getting answer on the 4th. I was told to wait 2 minuets and someone would come unlock it, it took 5 minuets. The grounds outside the viewing unit was dirty with trash on ground.

Sharon Williams: 1/21/2020....REPLY TO YOUR NOTES. Management has changed since I moved here around 1997 or so. There have been several office managers; and one of them advised me of the new owners. Also when I moved in; late fee for late rent was not $50.00. And at one point; if you were not an habitual defender and only one day late; the manager waived that $25.00 fee. Please do not advise me that nothing has changed. I would not have remained at this location as a loyal resident if it was not nice at one time! Fair market rates should correspond with the conditions of the unit. Thank you.....I have resided at this location for over 19 years. When I moved here the office staff and management were kind, respectful and helpful. Management has changed and my current experiences are terrible! I have mentioned to them about the black spots on the walls of my apartment being mold and they said it is not. My next step is having a Contractor out to verify. My apartment has not been upgraded/renovated since moving into the complex. Yet the rent increases. And how silly would it be to move out of one unit into another at a higher rate. Especially with the lack of appreciate shown to their loyal residents. And now if your rent is a day late; one day...you had forgotten to drop it off.. it is a $50.00 fee! The one good thing is the nice maintenance men. Neighbors are loud, unsafe stairs! I am so displeased and I am looking to move.

I understand it's not a "high rent" complex but that's unacceptable.(Updated 10/14)So I have read your reply- if it even is "yours", you probably hired internet PR- and I can tell you that your assurances to do "everything we can do" are empty. It is a lie.I don't even need you to do "everything"; and to be clear, it's not all bad at CH. The two men in maintenance have consistently been courteous and competent, fixing stuff in my place (sometimes even things that I didn't request, going the extra mile). Furthermore, there are other attractive elements to living at CH. But this last week was an absolute disgrace! We went without heat for a full week with night-time temps ranging from the low 40°s to mid 50°s. The temp in my apartment literally dropped into the frigid 50°s range (no fun to try and rest well/wake up with, trust me).This was not a one-night "we had an emergency" with our boiler situation (which would be understandable) but a full week of (we gonna take our sweet time fixing) unacceptable living conditions.Any boiler issues should have been addressed sooner, or at the very least faster, so that our residents didn't have to suffer like that. We have seniors and infants that live here, so please be responsible and make sure our residents have heat when it is cold outside.

Lauren Reynolds: The floor was sticky in my room, kitchenette was beat up, there isn’t a power outlet on either side of the bed close enough to charge your phone and still be able to use it from bed, there was at least 8 pieces of hair in my shower, a piece in the sink, a visible hairball on the floor, dust on the lamps, 2 of my 4 towels had hair and makeup stains on them… I know it’s a cheap hotel but you can do much better in this price range. Book somewhere else! To their credit, the bed was comfy and the staff was nice. Breakfast was also just bagged muffins, nature valley bars and instant oatmeal with nothing but hot water to mix with-not really even a continental.

Julianne Novetsky: Note: I came here to update my original review from two years ago, but I can't seem to find it now! It's possible I will repeat some things, if my other review is still here. I want to write an honest review about my experience, since the reviews I read helped me to decide to move here.Anyway, I lived at Somerset Manor East for two years from 2020-2022. Everyone in the office is really nice. Jewel and Randee are great. I really enjoy chatting with them as people, not just landlords. They were always prompt about my questions and concerns, which I appreciated since this was my first time living alone. Plus, my packages from a committee I am on keep getting sent there (even though I updated the address months ago!), and they have been kind enough to contact me about them, and even arrange for someone to be in the office for me to come pick them up! This is the kind of thing that really stands out about living at Somerset Manor.The apartments themselves are very spacious, with a huge walk-in closet. There is lots of storage in the apartment itself, and the rooms are very large. There is also extra space in the basement, if you need more room for your things. The extra storage is has a wooden platform so your stuff isn't just on the ground, and you can add a lock to make it more secure.My apartment was sometimes pretty warm because I had an upper unit, but the air conditioner and fans kept things pretty comfortable. I'm also ALWAYS hot. It made for high electric bills in the summer, but they were only like 17 dollars in the winter, so it evened out.Parking could sometimes be full near my building (although there was plenty more spaces in back, so you will always have somewhere to park). I didn't want to have to worry about it, so I paid an extra $25 a month for an optional carport, which was definitely worth it.The grounds are beautiful here, especially being so close to Van Dyke. The courtyard in back is lovely and peaceful, especially this time of year (fall) when all the leaves change color. I didn't ever try to use the pool, so I can't comment on that. But the pool area looks nice. :)I didn't have any issues with bugs, so I'm not sure what that review was talking about. Every living space has an occasional spider or bug, but there were no bed bugs and nothing excessive. And yes, rent did go up, but that happens at every apartment, especially in this market. You could find a fancier place with more bells and whistles, but it would also be a lot MORE expensive. Somerset Manor East is quiet, comfortable, and safe. Plus, all the utilities are included except for electric.I moved this year to be closer to my partner's work. But if we're ever looking for an apartment in the area again, I'll definitely move back!
K Fedoruk: The windows are old, loose, and have trouble opening and closing. There's no dishwasher. The pool has been closed all year despite advertising this beautiful pool and courtyard. There's no way I'm renewing my lease with this $100 rent increase ($940/month for a one bedroom??). I'm moving out in a few weeks to a slightly cheaper place with better amenities.
Leave MeAlone: Place has roaches and from what I’ve seen they don’t care I witnessed someone who live here legit having a breakdown because it’s been nonstop roaches for weeks witnessed 2 roaches with my own eyes crawling on the carpet

Our water would get shut off for maintenance every other week for about 8 hours, which was super fun for everyone working from home during the pandemic. I think for $900 a month you can do better than an outdated, poorly air conditioned box with no dishwasher.

Katherine Wood: Quiet, peaceful, and enjoyable!I'll start of by saying that the landlord Kierston is wonderful, kind, caring, and so fun to talk to. I have never met a landlord that people actually like and really care for. She's awesome!The units are nice and affordable, and you have basically everything except for electricity included in the lease. There are washers, driers, and storage units that you can put some boxes in, your bike in, seasonal stuff in... I think my favorite part of the Somerset Manor East is the courtyard. I love going out there when it is nice out and relaxing in the pavilion by the garden.Somerset East is right across the street from a Walmart, Hibachi restaurant, Xfinity store, Gamestop, a nice furniture store which is really nice. It is within walking distance too. Also, there is a Mobile right down the street.Honestly, you don't see apartment complexes like this one anymore. So glad that I moved here!

Lisa Sarkissian: I went down to the pool area to sit and read by book only to find out that the gate was locked and the pool was closed. There was no reason listed as to why the pool was closed. The sign reads that the pool MAY re-open this afternoon. As an adult if the pool is unable to be swam in, I would at least like to be able to sit in the pool chairs, read my book, and enjoy the nice weather. The pool has been closed on several occasions throughout the summer and was not even open Memorial Day weekend which is technically the kick off summer weekend. Memorial Day weekend was beautiful, but instead of being out by the pool ya residents had to go make other plans since our pool was locked. I was told that the pool was closed yesterday as well. I hope the issue is resolved soon, but how would I be notified that the pool is open aside from walking down several times to check. Very frustratingSide note: the pool did re-open and I spoke with Emily who oversees the manager in our office. State rules and regulations were discussed. Unauthorized people were adding water to the pool creating toxic water levels. They are working on making sure the proper people only are allowed access to the water valve. Great conversation. Answered all my questions. Very pleased
Tony Smetana: Was a fantastic place to live, new owners and things are not getting fixed as before. Gas grills broken since March. Staff says it's doing everything they can but big repairs are done from corporate, that's the problem.
Um Musa: I lived in Somerset Manor apartment for 6 months. The office people are just awesome! Jim will always help no matter what time of the day it is, great maintenance people. It's very quite and safe and the apartments are clean. They treat you like a family member instead of a tenant! really love that place and if i was to move back to Michigan ill definitely rent again.

Outdoor swimming pool and bbq. If there is anything to improve, I would say transfer the rent payment to electric.

Nicholas Burgess: Well I will only speak to the office staff and management. Not the apartments themselves. My business did work for them for a little over a year. Not only was there CONSTANT miscommunication between the office staff and management, (each not knowing what one was saying to the other) which caused frustration and made work A LOT more difficult, but they decided to rip us off just before the end of our contract.They requested a layout of their complex where all of our “stations” were installed. We gave it to them on a Friday (over 36 stations valuing at $540) ...we arrived the following Wednesday for our regular service only to be told that our services are no longer needed. (Our contract states that cancellation has to given 30 days notice, and has to be done in writing via email or by phone, neither which were done prior to arrival) When we went to check our stations we noticed that ALL of them were gone. When we asked the office and management what happened to them, they suddenly became incompetent. “We don’t know” and “we didn’t do anything with them”.....👌 so 5 days prior they were there, we sent them a map showing where all of them were, then when we arrived they are all gone. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happened to them. Our contract states that all equipment installed on the property is owned by us and that any unauthorized removal or destruction is subject to a charge.When management (Crescendo homes) was informed of this they blew us off and refused payment. They stole our equipment, lied about it, and then refused to pay for them. VENDORS BEWARE. after trying to be polite with them and giving them a year to pay , they still refuse. We are taking them to court
ABillie ABillie: Noisy Occupants from the very grown people to the children (the children are a major issue) that run the halls and parking lots.Loud music played in the parking lots. No security in the buildings. Walls are very thin. Cars left in parking spaces either abandoned or not running with expired tabs. Laundry facilities a joke! At one point we had a homeless man sleeping in the basement. The list goes on... save your Money.

Yelondia Baker: These apartments are nice but its not secured at all. Each apartment duplex don’t have locks on the doors, or no buzzers to buzz in guess. At anytime anyone can come into the apartment duplex (because there is no locks on the entry door) right to your apartment door and no car ports/ assigned parking spaces for residents. It’s basically first come first serve on parking spaces. The leasing office hours are inconvenient (8am-5pm) mon-fri and if you work those same hours you are out of luck because they don’t a late day to stay open to provide residents support, the office is not open on weekends either. The office phone number provided just rings, it’s rare someone answer. This is why I rated these apartments three stars. And for these to be call Luxury Apartments I need more security and guaranteed parking no matter what time of day I come home and a leasing office that’s open either one late day a week or open on the weekends.

Heath F: So far not good…I see a lot of these reviews are very truthful they lie and tell a whole story to you… it’s disgusting in the back where the garbage cans are it’s definitely not up kept trash everywhere around the complex and rodents as well.The utility bills sky rocket every month. And they send your rent bill before it’s even the first it doesn’t make sense to have pre made already some type of scam I’m guessing and Also it’s only one washer and dryer per unit the pool never looks like it will be up , no gym nothing only thing you’ll be paying for here is the area.
Kira Hobson: I wouldn’t recommend no one and I mean no one stay at Georgian Manor. The rent is constantly going sky high and the utilities you pay per month is really for the previous months.. so you are basically behind every month but they won’t tell you that.. I recently moved and couldn’t get my refund back because of my utility’s being behind even though I paid every month current.. the property manager says that they have something set up with the city like that.. no upgrades at all.. hallways are filthy, walls are dirty and they want a arm and a leg for a 2 bedroom… my experience was really bad.straight robbery.

blues blues: Georgian Manor, is an ok place to stay. Staff Cynthia, is a great person. She's down to earth get straight to business. But have you Laughing at the same time. Maintenance is slow on repairs. But it's only 2 maintenance man's, to do all the repairs. Patience is the key for that stand point. Talk to Cynthia she will have you claim, by time you leave the office or off the phone.

Cynthia me preguntó que es lo que buscaba y yo le dije, busco un departamento en primer piso, con lavadora y secadora, ellos dijeron que tenían un departamento exactamente como quería aunque se pasaba un poco del presupuesto que teníamos en mente.El día que fuimos a ver el departamento, Cynthia insistio en multiples ocasiones que aplicaramos por el departamento o que era probable que lo perdieramos porque estaban en alta demanda, lo cual me hizo sentido y la insistencia de Cynthía me parecia razonable.Ese mismo día aplicamos por el departamento, pagando las respectivas cuotas (60+35 que no son reembolsables) y al momento de aplicar, vi que el departamento que nosortos queríamos no estaba disponible en la lista, Cynthia me dijo que era porque el administrador no lo había puesto disponible, asi que apliqué por el departamento en planta alta, el cual desde el inicio mencioné que no quería.Apliqué por el departamento y 5 minutos después recibí la llamada de Cynthia diciendo que el departamento en planta baja no estaba disponible porque alguien más ya había aplicado antes que yo. Desde este momento me puse a sospechar que algo no estaba bien.Aceptaron mi aplicación y me pidieron que ahora pagara 200 dolares para apartar el departamento, ahora me dijeron que el departamento de planta baja estaba disponible y era el que me darían, sin embargo mi aplicación estaba para el de planta alta. Les pedí que me mostraran el departamento que sería para nosotros pues ya no confiaba en su palabra. La administradora me dijo que el departamento no estaba listo. Les pedí que me indicaran cuando estuviera listo para poderlo ver, pero me dijeron que era imposible que me mostrara el departamento sin antes pagar los 200 dolares extras. Yo les expresé mis dudas y que no me sentía comodo pues mi aplicación seguía por el departamento en segundo piso y no es ese el que quería, que si pagaba los 200 dolares iba a apartar el departamento en planta alta y no el de planta baja. Se negaron a mostrarme el departamento y yo perdí el dinero que pagué para aplicar.Tengan mucho cuidado con este tipo de estafas y no confien si les hacen aplicar por otro departamento que no es el que quieren. PESIMA ATENCION DEL STAFF.I see Cynthia (assistant manager) also rated this property as 5 stars. Employees rating a property is unethical and unprofessional.EDIT: I sent an email 1 hour after they replied me, one week later no reply yet. Do they care? I don't think so, they are just trying to make money.

Colette Wedding: Staff is friendly and I moved into a freshly cleaned unit. Love the big window and the walk-in closet, and despite a review I read you can control the heat in your unit. Happy that pets are allowed (for a fee).
Adam Dubs: I have lived in Balmoral Arms apartments for about 2 years now and I’ve really enjoyed living here. The apartment is clean and you can frequently smell fresh cooked food from the neighbors when walking the hallways. Any maintenance requests were handled promptly. Likewise, the 2 bedroom apartment was well worth the price. I’ve visited many similarly priced apartments in Sterling Heights and Troy at coworkers homes and this was was definitely the cleanest and most spacious.

Spacious apartment.Cons: Older units, box a/c, cant control heating.Laundry room was in another building basement. I had to walk very far to do laundry. Also up and down many stairs. It’s not handicapped accessible at all. Also very scary down in the basement. You have to pay coins to use laundry. It wasn’t worth me doing my laundry there. I did it elsewhere.Huge wasps come out every summer and drill into the dirt. I was afraid to leave my apartment. They would chase me. I told management. They said they sprayed it but we still had them. My neighbors would plug holes with news papers. The wasps would just jet out of ground in another area.The parking lot was a huge problem on the east side of the building. No spots if you came home after 5pm. I had to park so far always. One time I parked next to the dumpster and the police came and tried towing my car.I don’t like that the dumpster takes a good 3 parking spots. The dumpster is too close to the building and it absolutely reeks. Squirrels also tear right threw the garbage and it’s everywhere. The pool is ok. Playground sucks. Grass and weeds growing all in the play area.

My kids love riding their bikes around here and swimming and playing at the park. They also enjoy playing with the other kids around here. It’s been a safe and joyful place for my kids and I. The maintenance and staff are urgent and always get things done. Office is always supportive and helpful.

The first property management company was great, and they took the time to listen to their clients. The new property management system is just absurd. First, you must phone several times before they respond. They raised the rent by $60 last year. With a 30-day notice, they raised the rent by almost $150 this year. They never offered me anything like carpet cleaning, or new paint, or change anything in my apartment to explain those prices.When I contacted them to find out why, she said that it was due to market competition. LIES, LIES, LIES, the apartment next door is less expensive and has more appliances. Now I've received a letter informing me that I must pay $480 for the carpet due to some stains. They claimed I had new carpet when I moved in 5 years ago. There was no mention of the carpet being new while signing my contract. When I emailed the management, they said I need to pay, if not it will be sent to collections. So it appears that they intended you to pay for new carpet once you moved out.There was also a $100 charge for 4 hours of extra cleaning on top of that (kitchen appliances, walls, and in the bathroom in order to return the apartment to original condition). Before I moved out, my friend and I cleaned the entire apartment. Don't they paint the apartment after someone leaves? Also, why don't they go over those terms at the signing contract and ensure the customers' understanding? Really bad experience with them.

Oshinique Mapp: Stayed here 6 years first property management was amazing this new property management is total garbage can hardly ever get anyone on the phone they do not return calls in a timely fashion AND they increased rent over $150 with a 30 day notice… they’re currently trying to keep my security deposit wrote bogus lies about why they will not return my security deposit also… in the 6 years living there I never received any updates to my apartment maintenance use to be amazing with the first property management team now maintenance is also hard to reach I do not recommend staying here my rent went from $730 to $965 plus me paying $35 on my utilities and they also included a trash removal fee but will not give assigned parking… I had issues with having a place to park for yearssss I often times would have to park my vehicle at the parking complex across the street very ghetto save yourself the money and time it’s not worth it
Sam Rayes: Basically the projects, but you have to pay rent water, electric, garbage. People staying here and paying almost 1000 a month are the same people that are too uneducated to buy a house and pay less monthly and own the home one day. Sadly I was young and dumb at the time.

lady lo: I've lived at this apartment complex for about 4 years and i know everyone is wondering why did i live there so long and only give them 1 star it gets pretty lengthy but its worth itI moved at Balmoral when i turned 21 i was so excited it was my first apartment the first year to year in a half was great but as time went on it got really difficult being there1. They give 5 grace days to pay your rent even if you paid it just 1 day late and they received your payment they would still file court papers on you. So they sent all of their tenants a letter stating that if you paid your rent before the 16th of the month you would have to pay your rent and the late fee, if you paid your rent after the 16th you would have to pay your rent, the late fee, court filing fee, lawyer fee, in order to not go to actual court CRAZY RIGHT2.Everyone that has a key to any apartment has access to ALL the apartments its been plenty of times that i have came home from work or just a late night and the security door was being held open.3. Amanda is very very very rude and she has a nasty attitude i remember calling the office inquiring about blinds being replaced and she told me in order to get new blinds they would have to investigate to see if i had been neglecting the blinds and once the investigation was finished i would have to pay 2 dollars per blind! I had a pipe burst in my kitchen and they had a worker come (after hour) to take a look at it and he said that the pipe should have been replaced a long time ago and i told him that i have been there quite some time myself and he told me no it should have been replaced before i even moved into the apartment. so after he fixed it i noticed that it was water damage done and mold begin to form i called Amanda with my concerns and she told me..well how did i know it was mold and was i an expert and she never sent someone to come and take a look at it! NEVER4. Pam is very nice and she works weekends but she doesn't know anything or doesn't have access to tenant information so if your not calling for an application or for a work order i advise you not to call on the weekends!5.After being there for 4 years referring 3 friends at the apartment yes they took money off of my rent when i referred a friend who got approved and moved in the apartment, but they NEVER once offered me carpet cleaning, new paint or new blinds! NOTHING6.After being fed up and over the apartment i decided to look for a new place once i found a new place i informed them that i wasn't going to renew my lease with them! i moved out and my mom and i cleaned the whole apartment! My mom discovered black mold in the bathroom and they tried to say that it was from me not cleaning the bathtub after showering LIES! Now my carpet by the door had 1 spot by the door from everyone including myself coming in and out but other than that for me to be in that apartment for 4 years the apartment was in great condition. i received a letter from them stating that they was taking my security deposit because my stove was filthy LIES they just needed new covers and because the apartment needed new carpet mind you as many times i renewed my lease they NEVER EVER ONCE OFFERED CARPET CLEANING! they told me i needed to pay 500 dollars for new carpet for 1 SPOT they said that when i moved in the apartment 4 years ago i had new carpet i looked over my contact and it never said that the carpet was new! So it looks like once you move out they expect you to pay for new carpet! let me remind you that rent was 595 so they basically want me to pay another month of rent!They offer NOTHING at this apartment they don't have washer and dryer hook up no dishwasher no central air NOTHING ohh they do have pool but other than that they OFFER NOTHING! SO if i were you i would think twice before signing anything with this apartment complex
Jen Blackshear: We had 2 fires in our apartment building in less than 6 months. The 2nd fire was in the basement and the dryer blew up. I talked to management about doing something about the inconvenience of having to go somewhere else to do laundry. They just told me you were lucky that's all the damage that was done. This is the worst place I have ever lived. My advice think twice before you move here.

Martino Thomas: This apartment complex is a mess. I spoke with the leasing Manager Amela, as well as the owner Victor Castor of Castor management. These people are crooked. They took our money for the application fee and made my parents stand outside in the cold instead of coming inside to preview the lease details. As soon as the leasing manager found out we were middle eastern, her tone completely changed and became nasty to deal with. Not to mention these apartments are not very well maintained. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.
Joseph Bahnan: To much bugs enter the apartments, the basements are disgusting and the manger is so mean to people she isn’t nice she rose our rent on us for no reason when we play with soccer balls she takes it and pops the ball and when we drive bike we can’t drive on the grass and you cant go on the streets she told us when we drive bike you drive to the end of the sidewalk and.get off and pick the bike up and drive to the other end of the side walk DONT RECCOMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Allesandre Cardenas: I've lived here for 6 years (2015 - 2021). I'll be leaving this year. In my time here, I've found that major repairs take a while but most repairs are done in a timely manor. My air conditioning has not worked since I moved in. However, not without several valiant efforts by the maintenance guy to repair it (it needs to be replaced). There are not enough operational washer and dryers in the basement. However, I did like having extra storage down there. I did not like loosing my balcony. However, I liked how well the grounds were kept and the complex is nicely located. My particular apartment looked upon dodge park and I rather enjoyed the view. I can honestly say, I enjoyed my stay at Sterling Knolls. What's more, I've seen major renovations taking place in the empty apartments (new appliances, fixtures, etc.). in fact, If my current apartment were not so old and dated, I would remain at sterling Knolls.

Rashad Hickman: Moved in back in October of 21 when the previous management owned it, never had an issue. The property was purchased by Pepper Pike Capital in Ohio as of March/April of 2022. My lease ended this October. I moved out no problem until it was time to get my security. I gave them due notice, turned in my keys and forwarding address in the proper time. I have received nothing short of incompetence and lies. I was told that my information was processed on November 23 and the check was cut December 15th. Michigan and Ohio law states the landlord MUST return the deposit within 30 days. That is a LAW! It’s now 61 days, I have no answers or my check. DONT MOVE HERE!!! New company does not care about doing the right thing.
Chirine Dupree: I co signed for my daughter to live at this apartment she lived there for 6 years and was told while she would have 2 months to vacate with a newborn. Had problems getting here deposit back but finally received after the bumbling action of management, and then had the audacity to sent 80$ collection to my credit report and hers. Contacted them several times to clear up. No response!!! I’ve never in encountered such disregard of a person credit situation in my life!!!

Jakeya kellom: I lived in Golfview Apartments for about 3 years before new management took over. I always paid my rent on time and never had a balance. I was one of the month to month renters that was evicted. I was given a notice on 5/20/22 saying I have to be out by 7/31/22 which was very inconvenient especially due to the pandemic. On Friday, a moving company moved most of my furniture out. I forgot to grab my table set. I locked my door before leaving. I came back to my apartment to clean and my door was unlocked. My table set was taken and a few other items was taken from my apartment. Also, I know someone from the complex had to take my things because the bathroom was missing and only an employee would have a key to my apartment. I told the manager about this but nothing was done. On top of that, I turned in my keys July 18,2022. I still have not received my security deposit. I’ve talked to office staff twice who told me she sees I am due to receive my security deposit and she will email the accountant and give me a call. Still haven’t received a call back or my security deposit! Which is ridiculous because they definitely made sure tenants paid their last months rent when evicting us. So, I do not understand what’s taking them so long to send my security deposit.I’ve contacted the complex several times to date. No one has tried to reach out to me. I haven’t received a call, voicemail or email or anything. I wrote the company through your message portal leaving my contact information still no response. Each time I talk to someone at the office, I get the runaround saying the accountant is mailing the check out. I was told I would receive a check in the mail by 10/14/22. I made sure the complex had my new address and phone number. I’ve literally called the complex at least once or twice a week. I really hope you all do better. It’s not fair that I paid my money each month and I still have not reached my security deposit 3 months later.

Robert K: Stay away from this apartment complex please. It's control by very evil and wicked people. I wouldn't recommend living here at all. Go find a better place to live. By staying at Sterling Park Apartments, you will subject yourself to a low quality of life. We all deserve to live a good quality of life. Don't choose this place to live at all. Leave this place now.

Katrina Rucker: Well, I've been here for about 8 months. The apartment is good. However, the manager needs to get his act together. I have an issue with Xfinity. I've been having problems with the internet since July. It keeps cutting of and I can't have access to the internet or the cable. My last bill was $227.00, and even though it went down to $133.35(I unplug the cable boxes. What's the use of using them if my internet isn't working because of the frequency blockage). Xfinity says that the property manager wouldn't allow them the access to the attic. But the Apartment manager said it was because they were destroying the attic, to which causes them thousands of dollars to repair. I don't know who to believe, but I think both the manager for the Sterling Park Apartments & Xfinity are lying to me. I don't trust the Property manager because he's a liar too.
