But the main reason for only 2 stars is the fact that they will not let the guest leave until tip is paid.A better alternative is my thai kitchen on 15 Mike road (just a mile down north). Not eatable at all! They would break your teeth hard! The fried rice, although flavorful, the rice itself was definitely dry. I called to let them know, and they made it seem as though I was lying. Stating that they served a table and theirs were perfectly fine. I even asked if they wanted me to put them in a zip lock and show it to them. Unbelievable. I had a very bad experience then and was not able to overcome it until now. My son has been asking to try and he finally talked me in to it. My wife found Amy's and what a hidden gem. It's a smaller place (slightly bigger than the two or three table asian style takeout look of others.) It has a clean, fresh but not over done look, which I loved. Now to the best part. The food was absolutely, fantastically, awesome. Yes it was good enough to get a new word combo. The hot and sour soup that comes with the meal was very good and had a nice spicy warmth but not super spicy. I really don't prefer spicy foods although TUMS stock goes up if I do. Our main dishes were all fresh, hot (like just off the burner hot) and loaded with flavor. We were all able to get the spice level we wanted with no surprises. It seems lately like all of the Chinese places are becoming bland and flat with their flavors. Amy's did not have that problem at all. It is a little high price wise, but the food was well worth the cost. Checkout the pictures which show my Beef Pad Sew Ew, my wife's Pork Drunken Noodles, and our son's Pork Gang Gai (Red Curry)(medium spicy crazy kid.) If you love Thai food I'm betting you will love Amy's.Vegetarian options: Every dish that I saw had a vegetarian option. You choose the meat you want or tofu or vegetables.

The last time I ate here the food was average at best and I think 18 dollars I did not feel I had an 18 dollar meal. Service was quick but the waitress seemed rushed to clean up, had no welcoming or friendly vibe, and even started cleaning the table while we were still sitting. 20% service charge was automatically added to the bill. Well, it's just okay we ordered Extra Hot but seems like it's just mild, flavor of fish sauce was kinda strong, oily, appetizer size was small, compared to Thai Star price was kinda high and portion were kinda small too. We're the only customer but we didn't really get an amazing service, most of the time no one is around for us to ask for something and neither ask us about how the foods taste like. This was my first time here and might also be the last. Will definitely just try other Thai place instead.

Matthew Eddy: Showed up one day to find the name and menu had changed. I was some what pleasantly surprised they added more vietnamese items to the menu. One of my favorite dishes of all time is vietnamese vermicelli noodles - usually shrimp or tofu. They didn't have those options so I tried the chicken. It was good. The chicken, unexpectedly was flavored with curry. It was surprisingly good. The spring rolls had ground... I amd guessing... chicken. I didn't really like that. The dish didn't seem to have any mint or basil. That's why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5. I am planning to go back to b try the drunken noodle and pad thai. I'll let you know how I like it.

Mike: From what I've heard the place is apparently under new ownership and has incorporated Vietnamese dishes into the menu (used to be Thai King). I can't comment on the Vietnamese dishes but for the Thai food at least the quality seems to have gone down quite a bit. It was previously my favorite Thai place near home.I got my usual Massaman curry and the dinner portion container was barely half full (used to be nearly to the top) and the curry was thin and watery and a much lighter color than it used to be. The chicken was also seemingly overcooked, it was chewy and not as tender as it used to be. Flavor-wise it tasted ok but was nothing compared to how it used to be. The Thai Iced Tea also just tastes like lightly flavored milk now.Overall, it's not like anything was inedible it's just very middle of the road Thai food now. I'll be looking around for a new Thai place in the area, thankfully Sterling Heights is spoiled for choice in that department.

Excellent customer service, very very good food, best fried rice I have ever had. I always get the "sea food combo fried rice" if your a fan of sea food I highly recommend it. She proceeded to tell me that she’ll give me grapes with sauce not on the noodles. I told her that I would just take my refund. She refused to give it to me, although they do refunds there. She told me that it being unhappy with the food wasn’t a good reason.

Gage Fischer: Not really to happy I’ve been going here since I was 16 and had ordered food right before closing last night I’ve been sick sense after I ate the food usually there food is great but I had to put this review because I’ve been sick all last night and this morning definitely not what I was expecting from this place. Abdul Jobbar: Decor was pretty simple and nice .My wife and Kids loved the food . My Thai fried was so good we had to order another one to take home .just the lo mein was a bit sweet for me other than that service and food was really great. They also gave us spring rolls for free for Mothers Day. Nilima Khan: Food is great here, but the service needs improvement. We regularly order take-out from here and the last three times we ordered, our orders have been wrong. For some reason, each time we order Beef for our proteins, they give us chicken. Twice, we found out when we got home and we had to come back to get the right order.This time, we checked the order before leaving the restaurant and once again, our order had chicken instead of beef. There might be an issue with training, but this is really annoying.

I got a lunch portion which is enough for two people if you wanted to split. Lunch was only $11! It’s rare to get a good portion too for a fair price. I also had crab Rangoon which was only $6 but they’re huge. Staff is very sweet and it’s a great place for everyone. I will go again.I let them know I have an allergy to mushrooms and they were cautious about it. I really appreciate restaurants that take dietary restrictions seriously.This place has a family and loving aura to it. TrulyMzSpoken: I absolutely hate giving bad reviews especially toward Thai Restaurants....I ordered thru door dash based on the great reviews and I can honestly say it's overrated. The Hot and Sour soup was neither hot(spicy) nor sour. Very thick and flavourless. The Pad Thai (sauce) was sour as in tasting spoil I was highly disappointed. Lastly the garlic fried rice had no garlic or even flavor of garlic at all just normal fried rice..... I'm sure if the cook was having a bad day but Im not sure if I'll give this place another try

Had the drunken noodles and masaman curry (we tend to order the same dishes at a new restaurant) and both very well made. And you've got to try their chili oil, it's delicious and hot!
