Michael McCarthy: The environmentally friendly straws are bad. I had to go through a couple of different ones that were falling apart inside of the wrapper. The seats are not comfortable. The automated ticket kiosks at the entrance didn't work so we went to the window. The ticket window vendor was crass. The commercials and previews before the feature had the volume cranked all the way up. The concessions attendant that was a nice young lady was great to deal with, not the guy with long hair and glasses though, he gave me the creeps. I'll probably stick with MJR in the future.

Lulu: Pretty decent. Went during Matinee hours, no crowds no trouble. The best way to do it is, order your tickets online so that you won't have to stand in a line. Tickets were very reasonable for adults and children. Will be making a return visit.

Tea Bee: This movie theater over sell tickets. The movie theatre was so crowded, people were sitting on the stairs. A manger came and brought a few foldable chairs, and placed those in the handicap section. Still, some people were out of seats, that were paid for. People were able to get a refund for the movie and concessions, so that was good. But all in all, bad experience. Good thing MJR is down the street.

Darcie: Avatar 2 in IMAX was incredible, but the theater had some big faults. The seating is very outdated, and the prices of the popcorn and soda are outrageous. If I'm paying $9 for a popcorn the size of a lunch bag (see photo), the seats better be nice. The ones in the IMAX theater don't recline at all, and they're quite shallow. I'm not likely to return. I always have popcorn and a soda at the movies.Update:The theater wallpaper was also falling off (see photo). Where the heck does the concession money go?!? Fix up the place!

Carmine Tenaglia: First off, the theater seats were less comfortable then the chairs the CIA uses to interrogate at gitmo. The web experience to buy the tickets was really bad and the experience was confusing.I recommend Emagine or another theater before going here.

Christina Maier: We went to a 715 movie on a Tuesday. You pay ridiculous cost for pop and popcorn, but at 815, the concessions AND AUTOMATED POP MACHINES were shut down so no one could get the refill they were entitled to. My kids were really disappointed.

Also the directions took us to a Walmart shopping center.We were lost because the theater is behind the shopping center and there is 0 signage to tell you when it was.The guy at the ticket counter was so sore and had a bad attitude he didn't even say hi just scanned our tickets on the phone and looked disgusted at everyoneAMC is also rolling out a higher ticket price for the middle seats if you sit at the side or the very first row they're cheaper but if you choose the middle seats you pay a higher price. Absolute garbage theaterI RECOMMEND FINDING SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO.

Doug Mutart: I remember when the AMC was shiny and new, and it felt like you were having a Hollywood experience. Now, this AMC is really starting to show its age. Broken concrete, dirty parking lot, worn out interior, no upgraded seating. They missed an opportunity to overhaul the place during the pandemic.

Louie Luthor: This theatre is amazing, the seats recline, very soft possibly lazy boy brand, and the cinematography on the screens is top notch and the surround system makes it feel so real when watching the movies

AM: First time visiting the Royal Oak location and it was nothing to rave about. The theatre felt dirty...the staff didnt work as a Team and their attitudes werent pleasant. We ordered food that was to be delivered to us but it didnt come until an hr late and it was cold. This theatre needs more registers and staff.

I keep hoping for a return to glory when MJR was the premiere movie-going experience in metro Detroit - but, it's pretty clear that's not going to happen.My last movie had more cell phones lighting up the theater than the actual movie.Went to the concession counter - it was a mess and just had one employee stare at me and not say a word... I finally tracked down a manager who was sitting at the bar playing on his phone.The men's room floor had puddles of water. At least, let's hope it was water.Pre-Covid I was at the movies about once a week. Unfortunately, MJR has pretty much ruined the movie experience for me. I understand it might be difficult to hire people - but, there's really no excuse for the horrible experience -- when I can go to other theaters, a bit further away and have a darn-near perfect theater experience.

I purchased 4 tickets (I used my free tickets for 2 of them). I accidentally purchased the tickets for the day before. As I was driving to the movie theater, I noticed my error. I spoke to an employee who directed me to the concession stand and told me they should be able to switch it. I went to the concession stand and spoke with the manager and I explained that I purchased the 4 tickets for yesterday instead of today. She said there is nothing she could do. Completely shut me down. She said she feels so bad so she will walk away. She walked away. It was only me and the employee at the concession stand. My husband and I decided to purchase the tickets for today’s showing. I asked the employee to use one of my free tickets on my account and he said I couldn’t use them because the movie is less than 14 days old. I knew for a fact that wasn’t the case because I used free tickets to purchase yesterdays tickets. Overall horrible experience with all the employees at this location. I frequent the movies weekly and I’m so disappointed in this staff.

We arrive at the cinema and someone is already sitting in our seats. Scattered popcorn everywhere!! And this is already happening all the time in this cinema!!! The administration doesn't seem to care if people have tickets or not. Everyone can come sit where they like and watch the movie for free!!! Why did I buy a ticket?? Why should I come to the cinema with tickets and feel uncomfortable and look for a place to sit?? Clarify relationships with people who sit in my seats??? Because the administration doesn't care, they don't check the tickets! It's horrible. Instead of a good time, going to this cinema turns into a hassle.

Michelle Marks: Tonight I was very disappointed with this location. The line for refreshments was extremely long. I arrived in plenty of time before my show and still didn’t make it through the line. None of the frozen drink machines were working. Then, I was meeting some friends and they were already seated and I did not purchased the tickets. Apparently they still check for a ticket so the girl would not let me pass. I tried to call my friends and they didn’t answer. It’s now 7:05 and she said we’ll keep calling I can’t let you in and don’t worry you still have 10 minutes of previews. I waited another 5 minutes until I got a hold of my friend to text me a picture of the tickets. I showed her the text, she let me through and there was no previews, I missed the first 10 minutes because I was waiting for a text. I will never again go to this location. Emagine Macomb there is never a line, everything works and they have NEVER asked to see my tickets.

William Easterday: Came here on a Tuesday night to catch the Super Mario movie with my kids. Even though there was a bit of a line at the concession stand, the employees working were quick, professional, and completely on top of it. As always the seating at Emagine is top notch and comfy. The movie ran with no issues, sound and lighting were great, and the theater appears to be well maintained and cared for. Finally, on our way, the staff waiting to give the theater a once over before the next show were super nice. We always have a good time when catching a movie here. Keep it up!
