Denise Gonzalez: Thus far, I haven’t had to deal with this new location, but I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews which scares me. I feel like just coming on here to make a negative review is not going to help. If you guys are having problems contact Lansing! Everybody tell them what’s going on and what you're experiencing. Contact the governor or her staffing. Contact who's in charge of these offices. Lots of things have changed since Covid and definitely not for the best. It is the hardest thing to get a hold of anybody and speak to someone. I wish everyone the best!
duck: They claim they have an appointment time they are going to call you. They pretend to call you and then they HANG UP acting like there was a disconnection then there is no way to instantly call them back they say you need to wait 3 weeks for an appointment.

Moko Reece: I’m outdone at the way this office is ran. There is no way we should get treated like we do when we need help. My case worker called two weeks ago, asking why I have called her numerous time and said my benefits should not be cut off when they were! Then she stated she had to verify my paper work, called my job and clearly got her verification. That was very embarrassing considering my whole job knows that I’m seeking help. So you get your verification and you’re still questioning my supervisor, she confirms I’m working $ still no answer. Now two weeks have passed my benefits are still cut off, and she hasn’t returned my calls or the supervisor. It’s hard enough to seek help, but they make you feel worse. They’re acting like they pay out of pocket for us to receive assistance. Why accept the job if you don’t want to work and treat the clients horribly. I’ll be fine, and I know I’ll get the help I currently need, but I definitely will not let this go under the rug. Something has to be done about this office.

P Morgan: This is by far the worst location of DHS I’ve ever came across . My worker Ms. Carden is the worst worker I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been waiting for 3 months for emergency food benefits , I’ve still gotten no benefits, no calls , no letters , no updates! I instead received a letter from her asking me “why do I keep applying she has time to work on my case “ mind you this was 90 days later and the limit is 30 days. You can not get through to anyone , not a supervisor nor the front desk and now you can’t even leave messages. They should be investigated and shut down , they do not care about the people at all. Especially Ms Carden she doesn’t even do her job.
Kristen Gielecki: My caseworker is great. I just can't get hold of her anymore. Their "new and improved" system is a malfunctioning dumpster fire that gives me (literally) a five-minute taped message before sending me to the menu options, which then tell me my ZIP Code doesn't exist and hangs up.

The Love Fam: This place is a joke. They are not here to help those in need. I lost my job end of December. Applied for food on 12/30/22 for expedited processing since I have no income. FINALLY got a phone interview on 1/12/23 after given the run around for a week on interview times to be told by my case worker Mr. Rivard my application would be processed no later than 1/13/23. It’s now 1/19/23 I’ve called and emailed everyday, I’ve left messages for supervisor and Lansing and still nothing. I have 3 kids aged 13-8 months and I’ve been begging for help. When I went through this 5+ years ago it was not like this. I do not understand the state of MI needs an overhaul of this office!!

I keep calling back its the same thing but someone is literally doing it on purpose. with all this back and forth you could have answered my question.

I’m begging for a new worker and they always say they can’t do anything. My food benefits was cut off for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Because she haven’t submitted a application that was turn in mid December. I need landing to step in and investigate asap. I will not let this go!!!!

Left another voicemail with no return phone call. Please do not work for the community, if you will not provide services for that community.

Sony B: Very poor quality off service, front desk lady was chatting with coworkers inside, I woke in at 8:45am waited 5min and call her, she responded me wait few min. I signed in n come back still she was chatting with coworkers.i came back n site on waiting room an hour just because I did not get assistance at time very poor. STOPTHEMADNESS PEOPLE: People complain about free free free and many are capable of working. They complain cz they don't answer the phone and other complaints too maybe you should apply here instead of complaining. In the late 70s I had 2 babies I took a bus to school And got a decent payin job it was a 9 month school program I eventually got a job for the government working at the IRS I took a bus to work eventually my coworker said I can give u a ride. People are plain pathetic these days

Vicki Mach: I took my Mom to get her first COVID vaccination yesterday at the Health Department. My 87 year old Mother is compromised due to COPD and retaining Carbon Dioxide. Wearing a mask for any long period of time is impossible. The staff there understood the problem and made special arrangements to accommodate her and move her through the process quickly. There are so many friendly people helping and the area is very organized. There are even road signs off Groesbeck telling visitors where to go. Carrie G: Terrible. I did not miss having Medicaid because I remembered how terrible these people were to work with. Every representative is rude and useless. The number they keep telling me to call to cancel my Medicaid plan immediately goes to, "We're sorry, your call cannot go through, please hang up and try again later", so apparently I have to go into the office to talk to someone, when a rep. from the office on the phone should be able to take care of anything a person in the office can take care of.

I called the office, wait on hold a half an hour long for someone to answer and tell me oh well, she tried calling you at this time. I said my phone never rang. She said the woman tried calling me three times. There is no record of that phone number in my call history rescheduled for the following day. Same thing. No phone call. Worst experience EVER!!!!!!

dawn hagel: Trying to get ahold of someone is impossible I e been trying to contact them about getting a bridge card they said my appointment was between 9 and 930 received no call. Didn’t receive a call from them the whole day. Then I view my account next morning and they said I missed my appointment! They never called! Someone called today but the second the phone rang the person hung up. I call the number back and no one answers! Extremely frustrating and can’t get anything done! Unprofessional by all means and you guys are a government building! Unacceptable!

I reached out to my worker twice even emailed the head of the dhs office in Lansing which prompted a call from my case workers supervisor the lady was rude dang near lauged in my face when I told her the reason why I left my job. She told me that my case worker would reach out to my former place of meaNo way whilll my income goes to bills and I have no way to get food. Workers supervisor said she'd have to send my case to the policy department to make sure ihad cause to leave my job. This is one dhs office that should close no answers the phone there just don't care and they've shown it. Update have reached out to the head of the dhs in Lansing twice now and my worker twice even spoke to my workers supervisor who done right rude anyway it's been over a month still no news about case this office either needs to be restafffed or shut down the obviously don't care and I'm not sure who to contact from here on out it's going on 2 months now

I asked a call center person a question and she replied “listen, this is how it works…” I told her to watch her attitude and show some respect, as I was not disrespectful to her. She hung up! I called for a supervisor and got the same person. She said she was the supervisor and hung up! If you don’t like people you should not work for the county. Disrespect and attitude is unacceptable!
