Madison Cabuag: Ordered takeout and didn’t check my food until I got home. The Michigan roll is described as baked with scallops and shrimp on top. My roll had raw shrimp and scallops in a red sauce, not cooked, not carmelized, not the sauces pictured. The Philadelphia was good. The Michigan would’ve been good had it been made right, I’m not sure how they boxed it up seeing that it wasn’t cooked. The taro drink was fine but not great. Edamame was good, simple. And the Katzu don was delicious.

Bufosmixes: Walked in the door and friendly staff were quick to seat me, let me pick where to sit too. I ordered a poke bowl, and they made it very fast. And it was very tasty. Seems like a great place, I'd love to come again some time.

Emily: I attempted to call ahead for my order and their phone number doesnt work. Thankfully, the service was super fast. Took less then 10 minutes, and the staff was friendly. The Bibimbob was just "ok" flavor was very bland. & did not have anywhere near enough beef. It was probably less than 2oz. For a $13 meal, that was not worth it.

Leah: The sushi rolls are delicious and perfectly rolled! The prices are fair - especially if you are getting a lunch deal. I’m happy to have a yummy Japanese restaurant in such a convenient location - and without having to navigate downtown traffic. This is a independently owned restaurant! Shop local :)

Cassandra Johnson: My husband & I dropped in for dinner after a quick Christmas shopping trip at Briarwood Mall. The place is small, but clean and we were able to get a table right away. The staff was friendly and the service was good.We started out with an order of pork gyoza, which came out quickly. They were hot and crispy, but a little underwhelming. For dinner, we were intrigued by the "sushi burritos" on the menu. We love sushi and poke bowls, but have never tried anything like that. When we asked what the difference was, our server said they are the same, but the burritos are larger. The Fireball Burrito was actually a dollar cheaper than the Fireball Sushi Roll, so I gave it a try. It was tasty, but I think I'd go with the sushi roll next time as it just didn't feel like sushi eating it like that. I think I prefer the bite-size pieces and the crunch lost its crunch when mixed in like it was. My husband tried the Dragon Burrito and he enjoyed it, but felt eating it burrito-style was definitely messier!Overall, we felt like the food was good and the prices were reasonable. This is a casual and quick place to go for some fairly priced sushi (and sushi-like) dishes.

Annie C.: WOW I do not understand why people like it here so much, speaking as a former server. Gyoza and shumai came from ready made frozen bags and shumai was microwaved, kitchen smelled awful, there were times where food was dropped on the floor and simply put back in the containers, and who can forget the time they lost power for a few days and instead of throwing the product away the chefs just smelled it before serving to customers. I don't remember the chefs wearing masks (back when they were required) or gloves and they would drink on their breaks, chefs were also pervy towards women and the owner is verbally abusive and will put money over all else. I highly recommend taking your business somewhere else.

Customer service always attentive and friendly.This time for lunch instead of sushi, I ordered Pork Katsu Curry and Pork Katsu Bowl to compare the two, which both come with miso soup and salad. We had shrimp and vegetable tempura as appetizer.LOVED the pork katsu curry rice!!! The flavors are sooo good. You don't even need the meat! There is a version that is just the curry with rice.As for the pork katsu bowl, this was good, but not as good as the curry one in my opinion. My friend enjoyed it. The sauce is a bit sweet for me. It comes with a few varieties of pickled vegetables for accent to the pork and drizzled egg in the bowl.Both orders were generous in portions for lunch and enough to share.Will be back to try a few other lunch menu items next time!

jan engholm: What happened to Godaiko?! It used to be a favorite place to go for special celebrations. Last evening (Mother's Day) our family of four found ourselves very disappointed! The one good thing was a generous portion of sashimi, but all else was mediocre at best. Tough beef, lukewarm miso soup, soggy tempura sushi, noisy room, indifferent service---not worth the rather hefty bill of $100+.

Atsumi Casady: I had sushi lunch it came with super salty miso soup and a salad. I told the waitress I don't like cucumbers but the salad had cucumbers on it with some dried out slices of carrots on top.Sushi had very gummy rice and the shrimp on top was falling apart in half also I have to ask the waitress for soy sauce dipping dish she did not bring it before I asked.The worst part of this experience was I used the restroom afterward the stall had big one inch gap on the side of the door and I could see who's coming in and out. Same waitress that waited on me came in use the restroom came out and did not wash her hands and went straight back out to the floor that is just disgusting!

Alan Rooney: A bit of a disappointment when considering the cost of the dishes. Uninspired would be the best way to describe the flavor of the sushi, and the quality of the steak was sub par. And the sauce that smothers the steak clashed hard for our tastes.The staff was friendly enough and left us to our own, which is a plus, but also completely average for, again, the cost of the dishes. They seemed unmotivated to provide a 5 star experience, which suggests an issue with management or ownership.All in all, they'd earn a 5 star if the prices were cut in half. But for what they're charging right now, I can't see myself returning.

My husband and I walked in and there was NO ONE there, we only wanted a drink but sitting at the bar is never a option as it always smells like raw sewage. So we asked to sit by the window and the hostess replied "no"!She pointed to the bar and said we can sit there but smelling whatever is going on at the bar is not something to enjoy while having a cocktail.My husband asked why can't we sit by the window? There isn't anyone here? She then rolled her eyes. At this point it wasn't worth dining there. This isn't the first time we have been treated poorly by the staff here. I don't understand why most of the staff acts in this manner. The food is good but to be treated poorly its not worth spending our money here!

Gabe Meyer: Waitresses rolled their eyes at you when they finally come to ask if you need anything. They got very upset about a $5 Tipp on a $91 dollar meal, even though it was due to the poor service.

Zahraa D: One of the best sushi places in the Ann Arbor area!! I tried it for the first time last week and it did not disappoint. Staff are very professional and the food is super fresh and goood!We got the avocado shrimp & cucumber roll, fireball Roll, and Scotland roll. They all tasted amazing but my fav was the fireball. I highly recommend it if you like spicy.Overall I would definitely go back again!

Sally: The service here is amazing, and the restaurant is very clean. All of their sushi was super fresh with generous servings of fish. Definitely the best quality sushi downtown. LOVE the Black Sea roll, definitely try it if you’re looking for something different.This may not be the most traditional sushi restaurants, but everything is fresh and they do not skimp on the protein here.

The menu is extremely extensive, it’s almost overwhelming (in a good way) due to all of the options!! Everything around us was cozy and the food others ordered looked great, as well. Would definitely recommend coming if you like sushi or other Asian cuisine.
