Lena Batoon: My husband and I are temporarily working in the US from Australia and we have been with Bank of Ann Arbor ever since. We travel a lot and love how low the international transaction fee is with this bank. All staff has been extremely nice. Joe always goes above and beyond to help us!

Abby Miller: Slowest bank EVER. Make sure you leave 30 minutes to make any transaction in the drive thru. They seriously need to look at their systems and how they service customers.
Jason Elliott: The teller that I spoke with today was very polite and helpful, however the banker that he brought over was very short with me, dismissive, and wouldn't even look at me when I gave him my feedback. Fortunately, he waived $20 of the $160 in fees I was charged on 2 transactions... so, I guess that's something?Honestly, I'm more upset about how impolite the banker was than the fact that I was inappropriately charged $160. I've been banking with 5/3 for 10 years, the banker barely did anything about it, and wouldn't even look at me throughout the process. This is not only poor customer service, it's also just plain rude.There's 20 other banks and credit unions in this town. 5/3's customers deserve better.

Barb M: The management of this branch has changed for the worse. I have currently been waiting for 30 minutes to cash a CD while 2 management people sit in their offices waiting on 1 person. When brick and mortar banks offer this kind of service, they shouldn't be surprised that customers go to on-line banks. Edited a few years later: Still dealing with CDs we bought here years ago and, once again, we are waiting forever for service. Don't use this bank if you expect motivated customer relations.
Emma Melendez: Do not use their ATM!!! It ate $280 in cash, and never accepted the deposit. Blamed it on technical difficulties. It was cash....didn’t give it back. Luckily the agent I spoke to is giving me credit, but I still have to wait another day. Definitely closing my account since you’re not open on the weekends, the only one closest to me. This would’ve been taken care of faster if there was someone at the location to speak with. I have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Such a big inconvenience!!!

Evan Monaghan: This branch has some very friendly staff and I believe that Huntington as an organization is very nice, however that’s the end of the good. This branch is close to my office which is the only reason I try to use it. But time and time again I find them to be not helpful. It truly feels like they look for ways to put obstacles in my path whenever I attempt to make a deposit. The staff themselves are polite but seemingly could not be less helpful.
Warren Pan: Tried to swing by in the middle of the morning to make a deposit. Ended up waiting in line for 15 minutes for the one person who was working while two other employees just stood there. Then was asked repeatedly three times to upgrade my account by one of the employees just standing there. I said no. Will certainly not be upgrading from someone uninterested in doing her job. Certainly demonstrates where their priorities lie. Not sure if this is due to the merger. But I will be looking for a new bank after joining in 2008.
Mone W: My card was suspended due to some unaccounted for charges. The branch here said that I have to cancel it and order a new one, but customer service said I only had to call to unlock it. I have to wait a week for a card now.
Erin Spriggs: The employees at this branch location are so helpful, kind, and understanding. Charity, Rosie, and Angela exceeded all expectations with regards to customer service and banking assistance. I can’t thank you enough for making a difficult situation as easy to handle as possible.

S G: I have been banking here for 22 years. I opened an account here when I was just a kid. Whoever the older woman is working at the location on Challis in Brighton needs to work on greeting loyal customers. Not very polite.
HRG Capital: Horrible M&A team, dragged us along just to back out of a deal last minute with no legitimate reason. Avoid at all costs.
David Lazarus: Horrible service and dragged us along for months just to back out of a M&A deal 2 weeks before closing. Unprofessional and would suggest avoid them at all costs for business loans.
Saif Yousif: This is a bank that works in a bullet proof manner. I’ve checked around I know my funds are safe just because of the old proven characteristics they still carry today.
Brian Boesch: We enjoyed working with Kevin and his team to secure a home loan. Highly recommend using them if you are in the process of buying a home!
CRD III: Won’t be opening a business account there because of too many shockingly negative reviews.

Michele Worden: This bank is a poor choice for small business owners. They are about a decade behind in capabilities and cash management services and they charge very high fees for routine business processes that are free at other banks
Cara Iafano: This bank is absolute trash and I've only been apart of it for 12+ hours. I have banked with 1st national for 10+ years and was unaware of the merger. Now it's merger weekend and I cant access my money and all branches and customer service phone #'s are closed. Real smart to plan a merger when no one can help. You can't cut people off to their money like this. Seems like this bank cared more about their new fancy signs than making a smooth transition for their customers. I will be changing banks immediately.

Kerry Sprague: Used for a home refinance and they somehow calculated the incorrect payoff amount, which resulted in a loss of funds for us. Would not recommend.
Erin Zindle: Bank of Ann Arbor does so much above and beyond what a bank is expected to do. Always friendly, patient with problems and questions, contacting me personally when an account is overdrawn, mercifully waiving fees. In every exchange I feel like I am dealing with a real human being; like a good neighbor, who seems genuinely happy to help.The branches are clean and attractively laid out, even down to the little touches like locally-sourced coffee, granny smith apples, and treats for my kid (always offering it to me first).Not to mention how much they support the arts in our local community which, as an artist, means the world to me. I love banking at a place that is so invested in the heart of Ann Arbor.

Jasmine Chapman: I called at 4:57 to try and speak to a banker and they let the phone ring 3 separate times and then at 5pm the phone lines are cut of. What good service. My big issue is when you changed your hours to 5pm you make it so that people who get off at 5pm and have an issue cannot get your assistance. That’s ridiculous!
Kurt Morin: I had a mortgage on my home with Fifth Third. During the pandemic I took advantage of their forbearance program and deferred mortgage payments. During this time, I listed my house for sale and accepted an offer. I closed on my house and paid my mortgage off in full. 15 days after closing, my credit score dropped nearly 200 points. Fifth Third closed the account as 150+ days past due... It has been almost three months since this has happened. I have reached out to Fifth Third numerous times via phone and email. I have been told repeatedly, "there is no way to correct this issue since the mortgage account is closed". I lost the purchase of my new home due to my credit score. I have ZERO derogatory marks on my lengthy credit history until the closing of my account with Fifth Third. I have recorded calls, bank statements, and loan payoff statements proving I was not delinquent. This has been provided to Fifth Third numerous times. They will not help and continue to tell me it's impossible to change. To this day, it is not even close to 150 days from the date of the payment they are claiming is late. Again, on a closed account, paid in full. Maybe sharing my story publicly will get the attention of someone at Fifth Third that is willing to help...

Chris Steiner: Went in to cash some U.S. bonds that I inherited and was told that they couldn't help me. Was also told that I needed to have the name changed on the Bond, which is impossible. When I asked where this impossible task had to be done, they told me to go to the issuing institution. When I told them the bonds were issued 40 years ago at a bank that no longer exists I was told I should try the Secretary of State or IRS!! What the?? That makes no sense on any plane of reason. Absolutely the worst 5/3 branch ever.I called another local bank and within ten minutes they had told me what treasury form I needed and what documents to send to the treasury to redeem the bonds. Done. Easy.

Diana Kern: I love the Stadium Fifth Third Bank. They are efficient and thorough and I have always enjoyed my interactions with them.
Dennis G: Do not use them for ANY financial planning advice, ever. They do not listen to you but instead seek to put you into a product, any product, as soon as possible. Truly horrible.
William Debs: I am very disappointed in how difficult it has been to get a “Release of Lien” letter from them (paid 4/30/2015) and it’s 4/6/2015 and I’m still waiting for a readable letter. My certified check has long since cleared. My fear is that the “slow down” is purposeful (they offer a 3rd party service that will do it fast for for extra $$).
