Sea Stronger: Five stars all the way to Ann Arbor State Bank and mortgage officer Sean Breeden! I called Ann Arbor State Bank recently when I was shopping for a new mortgage. My realtor, Julia Brenner of ReMax, recommended that I go with a local bank rather than one of the big national names since most sellers consider it to be a much stronger pre-approval and would therefore strengthen any potential than we would make on a house (a very good thing in this tight A2 market). Wow! I was blown away by my experience. Sean Breeden was amazing every step of the way. He responded quickly, and patiently and graciously answered all of my many questions (at one point I think we had 22 emails going back and forth) and gave me such clear, direct information. I shopped other local banks as well, but no one came close to Sean's professionalism and expertise. He got me a fantastic interest rate and worked hard to help us close early. What is usually a very stressful process was, in this case, a wonderful experience. Thank you, Sean, and AASB!!

John Recznik: Ann Arbor State Bank - more specifically Sean Breeden, responded to my emails and phone calls in what was nothing short of amazing in terms of the amount of time it took to receive an answer or call-back. This level of expediency was critical when it came down to the wire to close quickly. We ran into a land boundary issue that took weeks to resolve, but because Sean was so good at what he does - clear, concise, and responsive - we still managed to close before we lost the lock on our interest rate. I've purchased several homes and refinanced on numerous occasions and never experienced anything like this service. Also, and most importantly, all the various fees to purchase our home were either the same as or less than the "major" bank I've been working with for 20 years. Finally, I never do reviews, but this level of service had to get one!

Sonya D.: Terrible service. Business account. I had a check stolen and altered. In-person the bank staff made it sound like it would be simple to have it corrected. Three weeks later they know nothing. No trace can be found of the affidavit. In the meantime I had a call from the security department telling me how I could protect my account from issues in the future for a mere /s $75 a month. So plan to pay $900 a year to keep your account safe.Yesterday the entire website was down for an extended period of time. I've moved most of my funds and an just trying to get this resolved so I can leave entirely.Please keep your assets safe. Do not bank with First Merchants.
Account Administrator: Level one was ok but first merchants is just horrible. You must get approved from this bank to withdraw funds from your own business account at the ATM.I have never encountered such restrictions at any bank.It's been over 4days. No follow up on their end. I'm switching banks. This is way too much work just to have access to your own funds. BEWARE
Erica Sawyer: This place is horrible. Their ATM ate my card for no reason and they literally could not help at all they said I had to contact my own bank to get a replacement card and couldn't get it out of the ATM!??!?! It makes no sense. Thanks for ruining my weekend. Terrible customer service.
Steve weiss: Level one bank will not help you should your card get compromised. They will tell you that another department handles x or y and give you a run around. There is no follow up with customers. No reason to do your banking here.

Bean's Best LLC: I have banked with Ann Arbor State bank for a few years now, for business primarily. I loved A2SB but the transition to Level One is exactly what I feared. Loss of relationship, horrible transition including a completely nonfunctional website (chat help under maintenance, phone number not working, login not working etc). So far this is the typical small bank takeover and it is a real bummer.

Avram Liebowitz: Fairly decent, usually a line.
Sarah Watson: Always met with helpful and friendly staff. The Branch Manager is always walking around making sure everyone's needs are met as quickly as possible, and she is dedicated to making sure you get what you need and advise with any better options they may have for your unique banking needs. Highly recommend, it's worth the wait even if there is a line sometimes.
Ian Stirton: Just the worst. Had my account closed with no explanation. Nobody answers the phone. A year later I have to get my statements for taxes and they can’t email me a file with all my transactions. They can only print transactions for two of my accounts but are incapable of printing my credit card statement. They also failed to print the full report, I had to review what they gave me twice and ask for the correct paperwork, which I’m sure made the growing line behind me super happy.We’ve now entered into the stage of capitalism where large corporations hide behind an army of powerless employees who can only direct you to a customer service number.

Amrita Pritam: I have been going to BoA Briarwood circle for around 10 years and was always treated with respect. Today I went to get a cashiers check for my husband and was treated very rudely. I was made feel as if I am doing something wrong. The lady who seemed lead teller was so loud and confidently said I don’t know for my question which a banker should have known. Instead of trying to find answer to my question, I was told we cannot make the check and my husband will have to come to get that. This was such a negative customer experience for me.
Alissa Carver: Never enough staff, long lines grow longer while managers and other employees ignore or do nothing to help when there is a single teller to help customers. Also tried to push investment options when I was only there for a simple transaction. When a manager was finally asked to help, she couldn’t and just blamed the size of a customer’s deposit for taking so long. Clearly unable to accommodate normal volumes of daytime business and bad management.
Richard Sinclair: Went and deposited $400.. machine said there was an error and reflected a $300 deposit. Now I’m troubled with having to call the bank to resolve the issue; not great.

Marwan Issa: So I have been banking with BofA for years. Want online made an appointment for my daughter. Showed up this morning the person that BofA selected for was the loan “ Manager”. He seemed bothered and that it was beneath him to open an account for my daughter. I NEVER PICKED HIS NAME LOLAlso he did not even bother to come say hello I had to figure out who I had an appointment with.He want to the bank manger and they came back later and told it was my fault, that I should have not selected him. Then I was told to make an appointment next week.I am sorry I have work also and you HAVE to respect peoples times. Promise you moving forward I can’t recommend this branch and especially Mr.Loan Manager (which can use some training on how to work with customers ).To top it off I call let them know what happen, the lady told me that she can pass the issue along and that it stops there.
Megan Lacy: Razan was helping me at the counter today. After being in line for almost 40 minutes and watching her miscount 2 customers cash, I was a bit nervous. She told me they didn’t have enough for my withdrawal, and I just stood there for a moment because this wasn’t a large amount of cash, she said she meant to say she didn’t have it in larger bills and walked to the back. She processed to give me $3100 in $20’s. She knew was also incredibly rude, impatient and hard to understand. The manager here is great, she helped me set up bill pay so I never have to come in here again. I have never had an experience like this in my life at a BANK.

Justin Blackford: Here's an idea. Maybe have more than 1 teller working during peak hours with a line out the door. 30-45 minute wait for change or a simple 2 minute transaction is absurd. Hope this changes or our company will consider changing banks. Never had an issue when we were with Chase.
M F: I waited over 20 minutes on the phone hearing again and again that everyone is busy helping customers and the suggestion that I schedule an appointment online. Tried that. No appointments available for over a week. That isn't terrible service. It is no service at all. If you ever have a problem, and you probably will have one some day, you are just sunk if you are at Bank of America. It is impossible to get help, and that means you could have checks bouncing because of a bank mistake and just be stuck with it. I am going to go sit at the branch however long it takes and however much time I miss from work -- all just to get a little service. And then to take out my money and move to another bank.
Thomas miller: Beyond slow. The drive through window has been closed for a long time now and ot doesn't look like there is any intention to open it any time soon. So, you have to go inside and there is usually only one person working behind the counter.Looking for a new bank...

Manisha Patel: I went to drive through but it was closed so I ended up going inside to get change for 260. I was the only customer inside. Teller was busy doing something and asked me to wait while another employee was busy making a personal call. There were two more employees, not attending any customers while I was waiting. After about 5 minutes, I get my turn. It took teller more than 2 minutes to count 260 in $5 bills. I am not happy with BOA as they have closed many branches near me and the ones that are still open and operating have really bad employees and culture

My daughter and I went in to open her first Checking account and I was able to upgrade to the Bank of America Cash Rewards card with the $200 bonus.Julie was the best! She was kind, helpful, and informative. We were even visited by Jenny, and the Bank of America team made us feel very welcome at their branch. I was very impressed by the level of customer service.Also, they were safe, with plastic shields at the desks, social distancing, enforcement of masks, and availability of hand sanitizer stations through out the bank.Overall, definitely a five star experience!
Paul Popa: Whatever you do, don’t go inside for anything if you’re in a hurry! The ATM just inside the door is broken, and the teller who deposited my check was working comically slowly to deposit it while a line formed behind me. The other tellers were more interested in having a conversation instead of helping customers. Use the drive-thru ATM instead!
