S G: I have been banking here for 22 years. I opened an account here when I was just a kid. Whoever the older woman is working at the location on Challis in Brighton needs to work on greeting loyal customers. Not very polite.
HRG Capital: Horrible M&A team, dragged us along just to back out of a deal last minute with no legitimate reason. Avoid at all costs.
David Lazarus: Horrible service and dragged us along for months just to back out of a M&A deal 2 weeks before closing. Unprofessional and would suggest avoid them at all costs for business loans.
Saif Yousif: This is a bank that works in a bullet proof manner. I’ve checked around I know my funds are safe just because of the old proven characteristics they still carry today.
Brian Boesch: We enjoyed working with Kevin and his team to secure a home loan. Highly recommend using them if you are in the process of buying a home!
CRD III: Won’t be opening a business account there because of too many shockingly negative reviews.

Michele Worden: This bank is a poor choice for small business owners. They are about a decade behind in capabilities and cash management services and they charge very high fees for routine business processes that are free at other banks
Cara Iafano: This bank is absolute trash and I've only been apart of it for 12+ hours. I have banked with 1st national for 10+ years and was unaware of the merger. Now it's merger weekend and I cant access my money and all branches and customer service phone #'s are closed. Real smart to plan a merger when no one can help. You can't cut people off to their money like this. Seems like this bank cared more about their new fancy signs than making a smooth transition for their customers. I will be changing banks immediately.

Kerry Sprague: Used for a home refinance and they somehow calculated the incorrect payoff amount, which resulted in a loss of funds for us. Would not recommend.
Erin Zindle: Bank of Ann Arbor does so much above and beyond what a bank is expected to do. Always friendly, patient with problems and questions, contacting me personally when an account is overdrawn, mercifully waiving fees. In every exchange I feel like I am dealing with a real human being; like a good neighbor, who seems genuinely happy to help.The branches are clean and attractively laid out, even down to the little touches like locally-sourced coffee, granny smith apples, and treats for my kid (always offering it to me first).Not to mention how much they support the arts in our local community which, as an artist, means the world to me. I love banking at a place that is so invested in the heart of Ann Arbor.

Victoria Moore: Carissa is amazing. Professional, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. I needed some urgent help and she was right on top of it. Great customer service is not something that is a norm nowadays. To encounter people like Carissa, it truly makes a difference.
Pick a Username: Not really sure why this particular bank has different hours than all of the other Old Nationals but it's annoying and inconvenient.

K A: I hesitate to even give them 3 stars but Im in between a 2 and 3. Have had two separate interactions with them. One actually closed with them and the other as a potential new mortgage. Both times communication was a problem. The first time I chocked it up to the individual I was working with but the second time made me realize it was the company itself. I also in general have a distrust towards banks so I could have bias but I recommend trying a credit union before ever even landing here or any other bank. The redeeming quality was one good lender I temporarily worked with who was very straightforward and helpful
Brian Urbancic: My wife and I recently deposited a check from a title company. The deposit cleared but 3 days later a reversal posted to our account. We weren't notified. I only found out because I login to our accounts at least a couple times a week. So far, ONB is blaming the other bank. And maybe they are right to do so. But until this is resolved, don't close the issue I opened at the website's Contact Us section and don't charge us a fee! If it turns out that the other bank isn't really at fault, this 3-star review drops to 1-star.
Stewart Beal: The staff of this Old National Bank are great to work with on all aspects of banking from checking, to savings, to lending.
Mitchell C: I have to change my 5 star review to a 1. I've never felt so slighted by a business in my entire life! No wonder the ratings are so horrible! After being a loyal customer for over 4 years this joke of an establishment closed my business account without giving me any reason or recourse leaving me scrambling to open a new account and get my payroll sorted out so that I can pay my employees and operating costs. I'll continue to leave bad reviews and steer people away from this bank if it's the last thing I do.
Brian Craig: I brought a cashiers check, drawn off this bank to cash it so I could payoff a car loan at another bank and they didn’t have the cash to cover the check. It was $18,500.00. It’s not small, but not that large that a bank with a big safe couldn’t cover. That’s why people pay extra for a cashiers check!

Cannot use Chrome to download statements. Inconvenient branch hours.
Antek Wong-Foy: Just like the the other comments, what was once an outstanding bank, UBT, is now worthless. ONB charges petty fees for less than zero customer service. Don't waste your time and money with the dump!
Ethan Conn: UBAT was a good bank and I have to say that the staff that carried over is friendly. ONB policies suck my butt and you have to be a rich man to afford a checking account. No follow through on getting me checks with correct personal information after two requests and unreasonable fees for checking. Had to visit several times after the switch to get my cards to work.
Dan Vaughn: Was forced into using this bank after they purchased United. They are, without a doubt, 10-12 years behind the times in terms of online banking. As a young person who relies on their website, mobile app, etc to do banking it is really frustrating.
Scott Roff: I have had several Mortgages at several different Banks; never have I had a bank officer spend so much time and work as hard as Betsy and Kathryn did. They bent over backwards to assist in wading through all the paperwork and jumping through all the hoops. They did an outstanding job in my opinion.
steven kipus: United set a high bar that this bank has no hope of even coming close. I am pulling out soon. Their online banking is a joke, no phone service, and they promise me things that they can't end up doing.
Armen Saakov: I used to have a mortgage with United Bank and Trust and they always provided me with exceptional customer service. Old National Bank took over United Bank and Trust and everything got changed. I am not able to pay my mortgage online anymore, I have to mail a check or go to one of only 2 available branches in Ann Arbor. Last month I went to the branch to pay mortgage and found out that they already added $83 extra fees to my mortgage payment. Terrible, terrible bank. I would love to take my business elsewhere but it is a mortgage and i can't. If I just had an account with them I would close it right away and go just elsewhere, anywhere , only not to be with them. Run!
Davoren Chick: Terrible, terrible bank. ONB took over a good local bank then repeatedly told us false information while charging unreasonable fees for our accounts. They charged fees for our son's student savings account, charged fees to our own checking account despite high deposits, charged ATM fees, didn't send our new checks for weeks so we were unable to pay some bills, lied about allowing us to change our mortgage payment date - then claimed we were late in payment, gave false information over the phone multiple times, claimed they would not change our PINs then changed them, and on and on. We switched to a credit union. There are better (local) banks in AA. Don't let ONB take your money to Indiana.

Horim: The team working here is amazing and down to earth. They work hard, are very friendly and always take care of me well. They deserve 10 out of 5 in my book. Also, if you do your due diligence and compare banking products from multiple banks, you will see Flagstar Bank has the most competitive products available out there. It's a No Brainer Choice, especially when combined with amazing and trustworthy customer service and support.

C C: I called to get my PMI taken off since I had enough equity in my home at that point. Ms. F. C. convinced me to apply for a home equity loan as a way of refinancing and getting a lower interest rate on my mortgage. It was an absolute waste of time given my limited employment (pandemic) and the denial letter made it seem like we were asking for another mortgage, not one to replace our current mortgage. Now I have a hit on my credit report and wasted tons of time. Just silly.

Jeremy Erickson: Went in to get a medallion signature guarantee (similar to a notary), even though I am not a customer at this bank. They were very pleasant, took me right in and helped me out. Would definitely consider banking with them in the future.
jenn eck: I opened a business checking account at another Branch 2 days ago and somehow in the middle of all the paperwork I didn't end up getting my account number. So I stopped in at this branch to see if they could give it to me and the girl was less than friendly. She didn't greet me, she didn't smile and I certainly didn't get a thank you when I left. I know being a bank teller can be really boring job but that's no excuse for just plain rudeness. At least pretend like you're happy to see me. She acted like my being there was an imposition. I hope I didn't make a mistake by choosing this bank for my business.

Jason Elliott: The teller that I spoke with today was very polite and helpful, however the banker that he brought over was very short with me, dismissive, and wouldn't even look at me when I gave him my feedback. Fortunately, he waived $20 of the $160 in fees I was charged on 2 transactions... so, I guess that's something?Honestly, I'm more upset about how impolite the banker was than the fact that I was inappropriately charged $160. I've been banking with 5/3 for 10 years, the banker barely did anything about it, and wouldn't even look at me throughout the process. This is not only poor customer service, it's also just plain rude.There's 20 other banks and credit unions in this town. 5/3's customers deserve better.

When brick and mortar banks offer this kind of service, they shouldn't be surprised that customers go to on-line banks. Edited a few years later: Still dealing with CDs we bought here years ago and, once again, we are waiting forever for service. Don't use this bank if you expect motivated customer relations.
Emma Melendez: Do not use their ATM!!! It ate $280 in cash, and never accepted the deposit. Blamed it on technical difficulties. It was cash....didn’t give it back. Luckily the agent I spoke to is giving me credit, but I still have to wait another day. Definitely closing my account since you’re not open on the weekends, the only one closest to me. This would’ve been taken care of faster if there was someone at the location to speak with. I have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Such a big inconvenience!!!

Emily Black: This bank is so friendly and amazing. I never have any troubles whenever I go in there. They give me accurate answers and explain things well. They are also quick in what they do, and dont have you sitting or waiting for somebody to help you. I also feel safe as far as security goes. They have a different level of security than most banks/branches and it makes me feel safe as a customer. I would highly recommend this particular branch.
