Saif: I’m not a runner but need good quality shoes for walking due to biomechanical foot issues. While I order online like many there are times when expertise and high quality stock/selection is worth the few bucks you (might save online) and my visit and subsequent purchase proves that. Crystal took care of me initially, understood what I needed and brought five pairs of shoes. Then tells me go ahead try them outside. Never been offered that before and you can’t do that online. I settled on Hoka biondi 8s and not because they are a ‘thing’. They were the best choice for my needs. I asked for another color and they had one pair in my size so when they came Terri completed the sale but also provided more information as well. Overall, it was a great experience in a homey, neighborhood environment with knowledgeable staff and lots of choices of quality footwear you don’t find at DSW.
Kirk Jackson: Great experience. I was looking for someone willing to genuinely assess my running gait and recommend a shoe that was tailored to my -isms and habits. Terry was fantastic and took the time to do exactly that and recommended multiple different options for me to choose from. I've had good experiences at some of the other local running stores too but none of them put as much thought and care into getting me in the right shoes.

I recently purchased track and field spikes from the Ann Arbor Running Company, I called ahead while at work and they were able to set two different pairs aside for me to try on. I stopped in 20 minutes before closing (Which I usually feel bad about) and the employee there was super helpful, very friendly, and I was very grateful to find spikes in my size for my track meet the next day

Griffin Klaft: This is the best business to order shoes from! As a healthcare professional, I am always in need of good, supportive shoes. I have gotten two pairs of shoes from Ann Arbor Running Company, and I have never been disappointed! There are several different styles and brands available in store and online. I liked a style of Hoka shoes that were carried in store, but I wanted a different color. Catherine was able to order the style and color that I wanted, and then have the shoes delivered to the store. I also recently ordered a pair of Saucony shoes from Ann Arbor Running Company online, and I received them in the mail the next day. Emily Zurales: I had an awesome experience here with Tim. He was very attentive and willing to listen to all of my concerns/thoughts about my feet and shoe wear patterns! He used the data from the foot and connected it back to what I had said about my feet. He brought a bunch of options for shoes, and two orthotic insert options. He was not at all pushy that I get the insert and had me try on the first pair with the insert in one shoe and not the other! This made it so clear how important the insert was for my foot type. I felt like he gave me the tools to make the decision about the insert. He was super knowledgable about feet and all of the different shoes and how my feet might feel in them. He was also super personable and friendly overall. 10/10 would recommend.
Paige Compagner: My husband and I stopped by with our newborn and had a great experience! Paul was very helpful, he used their system to recommend the best pair of shoes for my husband based on a scan of his feet and Paul’s visual assessment of how he walks. My husband tried on a few pair, and the top system-generated recommendation was his favorite! Paul made sure we went home with the correct size by assessing the fit on my husband’s foot and answered all of our questions. It was a busy day when we visited and he managed the flow of traffic very well! We left with a quality pair of shoes. We’re to grateful for Paul and his expertise :)
Carel Allen: Fleet Feet lost a customer. I needed new shoes from a brand that no one discounts. So I thought I should give the local store the business vs direct from the manufacturer. Now that this store is run by Fleet Feet it is a cluster to order after hours/on-line. Ordered on-line for store pickup. First, they accept a promo code then rejected it during checkout. Maddening! Eventually paid full retail and submitted my order. The next day they cancelled the order because the shoes on hand were “less than perfect condition.” In this day in age it is ridiculous to confirm with a customer that the local store has stock … without really knowing what stock is on hand.

I didn't catch the gal's name that helped us but she was very patient and knowledgeable. She watched him walk and then tried on a bunch of shoes until he found a pair he felt comfortable in. She explained how that particular pair would help his muscles and help his feet while running.We will definitely return. Naznin Mahmood: Went there to get my daughter running shoes but all they did was hand her boxes of different brand and inserts. No measurement of feet or looking at arches even from a distance. I watched my daughter struggle to get inserts into the shoes to work out while a possibly 20 year old stood back at a great distance. Not like the fitting had when I went to a different store for my running shoes. If I bother coming out to the shoe store it means I want to have good service and fit especially for running shoes. Not going back there even after pandemic.

RO: Neither my partner or I run, but we do a lot of walking and hiking and both needed shoes. We went into the store and were blown away by the expertise of the staff, we were helped by Chris. He went so far beyond just knowledge of the shoes. He listened to our concerns and watched us walk and then had us try on the shoes he thought would be the best fit for us and our needs. He spent a considerable amount of time helping us and made it seem like there was nothing more important at the moment.Bottom line is they're not there to sell you something. They are there to help you find the best shoe for your feet!!!

Jodi Wallo: I had an amazing experience at Mast Shoes today! For starters, I brought an older pair of good-as-new black Naot shoes that I thought had become too big. My wonderful salesperson William, showed me that the inner sole from the Naot's is actually an orthotic & the problem is I was wearing my orthotic on top of it. Whoops! Afterward, I chose to look for a versatile pair of "brownish" shoes. I ended up choosing another pair of Naot's, a gorgeous soft leather low boot. I love them! Thank you William & Mast Shoes for a wonderful shoe buying experience!

Gabi Mulder: Their website and some reviews claim that they carry a wide range of shoes in terms of size and width. Going in person, I did not find this to be true. Finding shoes that fit me is such a struggle that we drove an hour just to come here because of the claim that they carry wide width shoes. However, the selection of wide width shoes they do carry is extremely limited. I was able to try on a total of three shoes, none of which were what I came here for and only one pair fit. Overall, incredibly disappointing. Staff were nice but not helpful.ETA: the shoes I was looking for were a pair of dress boots

Chris Helms: My son and I visited Mast shoes on 12/16. We were warmly greeted by Christa as we were looking for a type of boot for my son as he was involved in a horrific work accident over the summer. He was recently given the ok to start walking and his orthopedic surgeon recommended a taller shoe/boot for additional support and Mast was recommended to us. We were extremely pleased at the knowledge and helpfulness that Christs had with us. My 19 year old son was just as pleased as I was with the pair of boots that was suggested to us. Also, I recently purchased a pair of fashionable waterproof boots for the winter that not only fit my wide feet but also accommodated a wider calf. I have not been able to find boots like this for years!In addition, the staff members are friendly and the service is great. They measure your feet and help fit the shoes.

It was so great to work out in a shoe that enabled and supported my movements.While I was there he helped 2 other customers with the same individual attention he gave me. Very satisfied customer!

Laurie Smith: Gone are the days when you can go to Foot Locker to get knowledge and advice about athletic shoes. I asked for a shoe that has extra arch support, if there was a brand that was known for that. The young gentleman who worked there said "this is a nice shoe" and showed me one on the wall right next to us. I said "Ok, thanks." I walked across the aisle and realized he had shown me a man's shoe. I started looking in the woman's section, and he happened to be right next to me a few moments later. I asked him if the shoe he had just shown me was for men. "Oh, yes... did you want a women's shoe?" Well yes, in fact I did, because I am a female. I again asked if he had a shoe that had more arch support and got the same answer - "This is a nice shoe" and he motioned to the one that happened to be next to us on the wall. I felt inside that shoe and commented that it felt pretty flat inside, like it didn't have much arch support. I again asked for a brand with more arch support. He stammered and didn't really say anything. He didn't offer to find someone who could help me. I came on a mission to buy shoes today, and left disappointed in my experience at Foot Locker.

Dan Tran: As a dude that fit 7.5-8, this was probably the only place in AA where I was able to get something my size first time asking (*cough* footlocker). Not necessarily more options than a footlocker or finish line but you definitely see pretty solid basics that are sold out at the mall (I.e all white air forces, black and white blazers, cortezes) . Staff are chill though not super interactive. Tbh I think that's a good that they let you do your own thing, and are pretty helpful when needed. Solid place, I'd recommend.

It had a scuff on it so I asked for another pair. He came back tossed the box on the counter again and proceeds to check me out instead of checking the shoes. I opened the box myself and checked them. I live out of state so I wanted to check just in case because it’s happened in the past. But I don’t appreciate the attitude and I won’t be back.
