Maddy: So I actually really liked the doctor here but the optical department itself is horrible. I got frames that fell apart at the joint and bought a replacement then the SAME thing happened to those only a couple months after I got them. When I called to see what could be done they blamed me and said that they can't replace them. I'm lucky I had contacts because I'm pretty much blind with out glasses.
M C: Decided to give it a try based on mostly decent Google reviews, being a Costco member and they accepted my insurance. As a new customer, I scheduled an eye exam and planned to purchase frames and lenses. I have not been to an eye doctor for over 10 years. I made an appointment in advance, arranged work and my day around it. The morning of my appointment, a receptionist called on short notice to cancel due to an emergency. Ok, absolutely no problem. I understand life happens and there is a lot going on these days. The receptionist wasn’t mean or nasty but had an attitude as if she can care less and had no feeling, nor empathy, nor any good customer service skills on the phone. A robot may have more courtesy. I figured she was stressed out or having a bad day and just let it pass. I went ahead and rescheduled for the next availability which was a week away. Despite her demeanor, I thanked her for helping me reschedule. She just said ok and hung up. Again, the morning of my 2nd rescheduled appointment, the receptionist called again on short notice, and said they had to cancel. I asked her what is going on since this has been twice in a row. With their emergencies each week, I wondered if their office is catching Covid? Are they short staffed? She said there was a family emergency. I asked if there is just one doctor on staff there. She replied with an attitude, “Do you want to see another doctor?” I didn’t know who I could select from or who they assigned me to in the first place each time they asked me to reschedule. I decided to not reschedule for a 3rd time and said to the receptionist, no, I’m not going to reschedule. She said, ok, and hung up. Although the two short notice cancellations were an inconvenience, that was not the main reason I decided to go somewhere else. I get that life happens. I’ve lost 3 close family members in the last year. It was the very poor customer service from the receptionist that made the decision for me to not reschedule for the 3rd time. If the front facing person for the company was like that, I didn’t want to take the chance on how the rest of the experience may be. Maybe the doctors themselves are really good and they didn’t have much to choose from due to the workforce shortage with hiring front desk staff. It’s hard to say. The great thing that came out of this was it led me to a different eye care office closer to home and the service and receptionist is night and day compared to this one.
Melissa Crowley: Got new glasses two weeks ago at Costco. Spent $260 on them. Tried wearing them for about two weeks and they were super uncomfortable, they were killing the bridge of my nose. I went back 4 different times to have them adjusted and even after all that I could only wear them for about 4 hours without them feeling super heavy on my face. I think the reason for this is because the ones I got were quite a bit larger than what I am used to. I kept having to go back to my old prescription glasses that I have had for two years. I went to Costco today to see if I could return them because they were so uncomfortable. After I explained that I had them adjusted 4 different times and that they were still hurting the bridge of my nose, she said no problem and that I could exchange them for a different pair. I decided on a pair that is smaller like I am used to wearing. Thinking these will be much better. I will know when the new ones come in in two weeks. I must say the customer service was fabulous today! They were super nice and happy to help. An added bonus is that the new ones I picked out were $40 less than the ones I originally bought, so I got $40 cash back. Can’t wait to get the new ones! M Nomail: Dr Emily Schafer did my eye exam and noticed some problem.It was Saturday afternoon and she called various eye specialist to see if they could see me urgently, she got an appointment for me for Monday but didn’t stop trying to get something close by. She even shared her personal cell number to reach out.I would have serious trouble with my vision if I didn’t see Dr Emily at Costco vision center.She is a caring professional.
Eric Cooper: Dr. Reeves gave me the most thorough, precise, and brilliant eye exam I have ever received. I had never had retinal imaging and assessment before. Very careful and clear in his guidance. His passion about the subject, and his ability to teach, made this a very valuable experience. Fair price, too. The eye exam deserves 6 stars.The glasses help, on the other hand, was bossy and inconsiderate. Only go for the exam.
Mara Stark: After an awful experience somewhere else, I decided to try Costco optical and I am so happy I did. The optician is marvelous and knows what she is doing, and the frame selection is great, from the Kirkland brand to designer brands like Gucci. Prices are more than reasonable and the end product was very satisfactory. Not to mention how quickly I got my prescription glasses and sunglasses!

Jess W: The people at this location are so sweet and helpful and truly go above and beyond. So I went in for my contact lens fitting and lesson (Cause it's been a long time since I put contact lens in) and the lady named Christina was teaching me. Well I have long acrylic nails that were making it hard for me to put my contact lens in, and she let me use her nail clippers to cut my fingernails 🙌✨ I got them put in! And she gave me a case for my glasses. :) The Dr at this location is also very sweet and I never once felt uncomfortable at this location.

Lauretta Codrington: I wont be using SVS again nor will i tell my friends about it. They meased up my order. I tried to get readers into my frames and when my glasses came back they had the same lenses as when they were sent away. I did not notice until months later. When I came to have to matter resolved they made such a fuss. The did not own up to the mistake until after repeates visits and my insistance that something was wrong and the glasses were not readers that I ordered. Finally when they were convinced they sent the frames off to have my old prescription, not even a new prescription even though my eyes were one year older. They insisted that I was outside of the return time frame. Exhausted with the matter I agreed for them to put my old reader prescription into the frames. In other words try again to provide me with readers. They sent my frames off and I get a call saying the lab broke my frames. So not only do I not get readers, but my frames are broke and the waiver says I am not allowed ask for repayment for my frames. As a result, they never delivered my glasses. They were paid by the insurance company. They refunded my portion but said there is nothing They can do about the insurance payment since it happened a year ago. Nope I won't be using SVS.

Emily Li: I came in to ask if my lens could be switched out to another pair of glasses frames I own (since my glasses with my current prescription had the nose pad break). The worker was able to help me for free, unlike Warby Parker who declined switch my lens out. Very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend going here for their customer service. They have a nice design inside the store with a variety of neat & organized frames laid out for you to try.
Sandy Bambi: I’m having a pretty bad experience with this location. My daughter’s glasses are fine, but my prescription is off, and I was overcharged. They’ve stopped responding after weeks of phone calls and empty promises which is why I’m leaving this review. I basically paid them over $900 for a set of glasses that don’t work for me, and they’re not being helpful at all. The lady sales person is extremely rude. The guy is nice but nice isn’t helping my purchase or a refund. All I wanted was a cute pair of glasses, and now I’m in a glasses nightmare of hipsterness.

Paperwork was one page, very easy. Amazing selection of popular and fun frames. Dr Kang was super friendly and made the experience of an eye exam comfortable. Melissa was knowledgeable and explained all the details of the pricing and options available. My glasses came back in a very reasonable amount of time. Will definitely return. This isn't a big-box chain this is a boutique style store which is nice because they have THEIR OWN brand which I've seen on some very famous celebrities so paying a little extra for quality was just fine with me. Definitely will be back and will be recommending to everyone!

So, as I begin to see changes in my field of vision, it was disregarded by optometrists, as it was still ABOVE average. Wow, has the paradigm shifted.My recent appt was with, Terry. Terry LISTENED to my experience and used language that was more investigative. He quantified not just my visual acuity but my experience of seeing. He understood that I didn't need/want average, I wanted what I had lost. We worked together in a way that I have never experienced with an optometrist. Never have I felt so understood and confident that we found a solution. Cannot wait until my new lenses arrive. THANK YOU, TERRY!!!Word to the wise: ask more questions!Sometimes, it isn't as simple as "is 1 better or worse than 2?"For me, we had very subtle and minute adjustments to find the best solutions. Eric J: With two pairs of spectacle lenses, the average price per pair is about $400. The price is on the high side, the speed is very slow, and the service is poor. In the case of rush, it is expected to complete in two weeks and actually exceed three weeks. The clerk said he would send a text message when it was ready, but he didn't. One of the fitted frames has a small amount of white paint-like stain on it, which can be removed with rubbing alcohol.

Pedro Coracides: Dr. Johnson is the best eye doctor I have had in almost 20 years of wearing eye glasses. He helped thoroughly explain some issues I have had with my eye sight and prescribed the best pair of eye glasses for me. The staff at SEE is also fantastic and so wonderful. After going to other providers in the Ann Arbor area, I would say this is the best place to go.

Stephen Sullivan: TLDR: Extremely difficult appointment scheduling / contact process for the Kellogg Eye Center Optical Shop. To be seen initially, you have to schedule an appointment out several months in advance. I even had the frames already and just needed to have the prescription filled and it took 2 months for an available appointment. After that initial appointment, it took 3 weeks for my glasses to be ready for pick up. Then I had to wait another 3 days for a scheduled pick-up appointment to be available. During my pick-up appointment, I noticed the prescription was off and my long distance vision was blurry. The optician told me to wear them for a week and see if my eyes simply "adjusted." Shockingly, my eyes have not adjusted and now I'm trying to schedule a re-working of the prescription and I'm looking at another week out to be seen. Also the secretarial staff rarely answers the phone during posted business hours so have fun leaving voicemails. Maybe I'll have a new pair of glasses that I can see with by 2022? Go to Costco and save yourself the headache.
John Williams: We moved out of A2 several years ago, but our new provider dropped Davis Vision & would not honor our warranty. Larry contacted Davis and took care of the problem. We are very pleased, and highly recommend the KEC Optical Shop for your eyewear needs.

Zei Lou: worst experience ever! had a lazik/ corrective surgery by a resident 3 years ago. until today, i still suffer from severe dryness and discomfort due to surgery. i often wake up with eyes shut and painful to open due to dryness. they kept having me go back and try different drops but non made a difference. I was frustrated, spent so much money on copays, drops, prescription, gas but no cure. staff were rude, and didn't care as i should've know its a side effect. the older doctor was the only nice gentleman and seemed to care but i had to try few other doctors as i was desperate for help and still no cure. I've spent more money on drops and prescription than the surgery. one prescription costs $200 and they had to take blood from me to create it. Now i'm left with pain and discomfort and extra expenses for the rest of my life. i love uofm but i will not step in kellogg Ann Arbor eye center again.
R F: Just to pick up my glasses it took 45 minutes wait time. You are suppose to sign in and they go in order which is fair but pick ups shouldn’t take that long and a lot of the technicians were chatting with each other in the back which is fine but when you see 10 plus people waiting to be served please be a little more mindful.

We arrived 30 minutes before closing and had forgotten to bring the original prescription we had obtained at a different facility. I can't express just how pleased I am with the service we received.

Unfortunately, my recent visit was an absolute disaster. The store environment was unprofessional, and the doctor who attended to me was on his first day with the company and had no idea how to run the systems. As a result, both my scripts were written incorrectly, which was a major inconvenience for me.When I tried to resolve the issue by contacting the store directly, I was directed to a remote customer service representative, who was unable to provide me with the answers I needed. He didn't know which script was for which eye, and had to put me on hold to contact the store. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes, I still didn't receive the answers I was looking for.As someone who prefers to buy local, this experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I had a great experience with Warby Parker last year, but this time around was a huge disappointment. I hope that the company can take steps to improve its customer service and ensure that this kind of experience does not happen again in the future.Overall, I cannot recommend the Ann Arbor store of Warby Parker based on my recent experience.

Just like in the 1990s, they offer the flexing, slidable, and matching sunglass clips. Many other places for eyeglasses only offer magnetic clip-ons.I'm really glad I got prescription sunglasses too.Their progressive lenes are excellent.Nice to have 2020 Vision and Focus.

Althea Muth: This review is only for buying the glasses, not getting an exam or prescription or anything. I've been getting ripped off with glasses for so long, always paying extra for polycarbonate, anti reflective, etc. but their lenses already come with these options. Good place for glasses if you have an idea of what you want/want to try on. The service was really great when I picked up my glasses today and they're a nicely packaged product. I would recommend for that.

Dr. Berenjian was very friendly and knowledgeable and I felt like the whole appointment was fast and simple while also thorough. She even fitted me for new contacts in mere minutes and sent me home with some sample lenses to hold me over until I buy my new ones. Booking the appointment online was quick and easy to do as well. Even though I have to drive an hour away, I will definitely be returning to the pencil room for any future appointments.

Megan Rumbles: I was so excited to take my Boyfriend here because I love Warby Parker and have had positive experiences at their Williamsburg, Brooklyn location with assistance finding the right glasses for my face shape and desires. I wanted him to feel confident with his decision with the help of the staff, but when I asked what would work for his face shape, if he needed a wider pair, I was met repeatedly with "he just has to try them on and see." He was so indecisive and clueless if things looked good on him, not having much experience with glasses. We didn't purchase anything and will not come here again.

Charisa Halboth: I contacted Warby Parker customer service and they were absolutely fantastic! I later went to the location in Ann Arbor and the employees there were absolutely amazing! They were super friendly and a pleasure, even during a stressful pandemic. Thank you to the Ann Arbor Warby Parker employees!
Andrew Port: Very disappointing experience. The prescription was off (I now know from a subsequent eye exam), the PD and OC (important measurements) were way off on the first pair of glasses they sent me -- and again on the second pair. It was very difficult to get an appointment to clear this up so after having wasted three weeks trying to get this company to properly fit my eyes, I just gave up and went elsewhere. I did not find the staff at the Ann Arbor store particularly helpful or courteous, and it was a real hassle getting a refund. They received the new glasses on Nov. 2 and still had not issued a refund until I called yesterday: still waiting for it to show up. It's a shame because I really wanted to give WP a chance and really like the frame I had picked out, and the price was certainly right. I also like the whole concept. But I cannot recommend this store or this company. :(
Cecilia MH: Took a chance and did my eye exam here - it was great! The eye exam room itself is small, but don't let that deter you. Dr. Tony Mullins was the first eye doc I've ever dealt with who was 100% honest about overall eye health, contact products, etc. Turns out my previous prescription strength was slightly over-corrected! Appreciated his thoroughness and didn't bat an eye to my questions.I did shop for new glasses & contacts and the selection is great. The storefront does a good job keeping everything clean and has the process down to curb pandemic germs. Props to Mary who emailed me after I walked out because she found a way to get my insurance to cover more. Much appreciated for the extra money in my pocket!

Shelia Y. Darden: From the moment you come in the door until the time you leave - the Staff is KIND, FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, and HELPFUL. I was scheduled for my yearly eye exam and saw Dr. Wang for the first time. She was PERSONABLE, THOROUGH, and GENUINELY CONCERNED about my overall Eye Health. Genevieve, at the desk, made sure my information was up-to-date, my questions were answered, and all my needs were met before leaving. The ones (sorry for not having your names) who checked my eye pressure to the one who changed my nose pads - you both were GREAT. I recommend you visit Stadium Opticians and then write your own review.Unfortunately, I left them this year (2022) due to be totally disappointed with the Customer Service after all these years - just rude and inpatient.

Brian Little: They can actually repair glasses! I had a terrible experience at a different optician with defective glasses. I was a walk-in yet Cathy was helpful and managed to fix my existing frames with a creative solution. They have a customer for life now.
Qidong Shi: I walked in to get an appointment since I was nearby. Stood in the store for about 15 minutes before anyone came out to talk. An old man then came out to help an existing customer without even acknowledging me. After another 5-10 minutes, a younger male walked out straight handed me a mask, I explained what I am there for, he condescendingly said how am I gonna help u if I don’t have a prescription. I said that’s why I’m here. After checking their availability and pricing, it is too far away and doesn’t fit my schedule. The guy then said everyone is at least two weeks out now, again not the most professional store. If the first interaction is like this, I don’t feel comfortable getting a service at this place.
Tony Linzmeier: I needed a script for computer glasses. Dr. Pierce took the time to listen to my needs and provided exactly what I needed. Genevieve at the front desk was a great help in tracking down an old prescription. Jen who did my preliminary exam was excellent as well. Highly recommend Stadium Opticians!

John Staples: I had to get my last pair of glasses from them repaired. One of the screws worked it's way out, and the lens came out. I know that they repair pretty much any glasses. During Covid, they have parking spots numbered and the phone number to call and someone will come out. It worked perfectly, very fast and so incredibly professional. I will NEVER go elsewhere for my eye glasses needs!Wow....the best......I used them for many, many years (probably 15-20+) and drifted away from them. Went to a very big box store and was not happy. Came back this year, and my glasses are the best I have had in many years. Don't know how price compares, but their service and my eyesight makes it all worthwhile.

Molly Hough: Went in for insight on colorblindness for my boyfriend, we had read they carried Enchroma brand lenses for colorblindness. Ron greeted us (he was very friendly and professional), he directed us to Ron who was helpful in everyway! The lenses didn't effect his vision the way we had hoped but Ron was optimistic (but still realistic) and gave us all the information we could possibly need without pressuring us into buying right then. Would recommend again and again, very good experience from beginning to end.

Scott Murray: I went in for a standard eye check and perscription update. After picking my frames, I stood for 40 minutes before someone came out to help me. When we went to pick up the glasses, I immediately knew that the perscription in one of my eyes was wrong. They condescendingly told me that it wasn't and that I would just adjust if I gave it a few days. I did this despite it causing intense headaches, and it is still wrong. They also didn't even shape the glasses so they wouldn't fall off my face. I called to see if I could get them to fix it and they wouldn't even let me come in for over a week. This is completely unacceptable. They wouldn't listen, don't seem to care that they messed up my perscription, and they don't seem to care about fixing their mistakes. I will never come here again.
Dave F: Just had my first visit to this place. I was rather dissatisfied with the last 2 "big box" stores I went to so I chose this place based on the positive reviews, and I have to concur. Everyone was very friendly and did their best to provide me with all of the information I needed. The floor technician, Corey?, was excellent. I didn't have time to purchase a pair of glasses today but I plan on going back.

They were able to fill out the forms and offered to fax them in for me the two times I needed them to! They also gave me a ton a free contact samples. Their prices are really good and I've just had a great experience every time I've gone in there.
Stephanie Smith: I drive all the way from Fort Wayne to go to Kellogg eye center for my 3 year olds opthalmologist. The optical shop there doesn't accept our insurance so they recommend Stadium Opticians. My son was only 18 months when he got his first pair and they went above and beyond to make sure we picked glasses he would be comfortable wearing. The fit was perfect. And they looked adorable too! They have a great selection for such a small shop. I know people complain about the prices, but you are paying for their experience, service, and knowledge. I see kids with poorly fitting glasses the parents bought at Walmart all too often.

Jerome Meredith: Hard to imagine writing a review for Stadium Opticians that used the word 'rude.' I've never experienced or seen that kind of treatment. To the contrary, all of my interactions bring to mind adjectives like welcoming, courteous, professional, helpful. I've dropped in many times, out of the blue, with no appointment,... to get my frames tightened, or fixed after doing something dumb like stepping on them. At most, a short delay while they finish up with another customer, and then they take care of mine. Quickly. 5 Star service for me.
