Detroit Dog Rescue: what do users think?
Richard Siemion: Don’t give your money here until they have someone at the top that actually works to helps and doesn’t throw shade at other organizations that do good things to keep the negative attention off of herself. All I see now is a narcissist who self promotes and I don’t trust anything that comes out of her mouth.
A Allen: Very poor employees and customer service. A very nice stray neutered pitbull walked up to me yesterday and after a referral to bring him here, I went. I got here before closing time and no one answered the door. Finally an older short Caucasian lady was leaving out of the building. I said excuse me ma'am, and she looked at me and ignored me and proceeded to her husbands Ford fusion and pulled off. I said wow. So after ringing the doorbell, an older tall Caucasian man with straggly hair answered with an attitude and said that they were closed. I told him that I was here before closing time. I said that I found a dog and I was referred by the humane society to bring him here. He point across the street stating that everyone was gone. I said there has to be a manager here because you've just closed. He then stated, I just told you that they were closed. He was very nasty all while shaking his head and talking at me as if I was scum of the earth. You all do not need people who are not from this city servicing the city. Those kinds of people bring negative and deep-rooted hate with them so how is it possible to receive genuine customer service and love for the animals that they're supposed to care for? My journey started at 2pm yesterday and ended at 4:30pm. I returned him to the humane society and they said that since I was really trying, they would squeeze him in. I was not going to give up until that nice dog was safe. Detroit already going through lot for Caucasian people to come here and bring their hate and nasty attitudes here. Please do better and hire professional individuals who genuinely love all people and animals.
B R: Very disappointed. I have tried several times to reach the manager to offer support in the form of donations and supplies and no return call from anyone. Attended their fundraising event yesterday and asked the manager for her business card to speak with her later about how I can help with donations and supplies, and she didn’t have a business card she could give me, and didn’t offer a phone number to reach her. Sadly, a missed opportunity for their pups, tried to help.According to the filings on record for your organization most of the hundreds of thousands of dollars you receive in donations are going to salaries. Anyone thinking about donating to this organization should do their research first, let’s put our dollars into the hands of shelters that use it more wisely. You can look up any non profit on the Michigan LARA site.
Charlotte Hurford: Detroit dog rescue is the best rescue I know. They don't only rescue animals that are in desperate need and house them. They have some for a short. Of time to get them fostered out for a Forever Home. 💜❤️💜❤️💯💯💯
beautifully destroyed: They are awesome
Jeff Shepherd: Time to adopt a dog people!
Alec: The Detroit Dog Rescue is a fantastic place doing amazing work! My partner and I fostered 2 pups from DDR, Annie and Raven, and we loved working with the rescue so much. The employees & volunteers were professional and took extreme care to support us throughout the fosters. Don't think twice about fostering, adopting, and/or donating here!
Derrick Stinoski: This group does an awesome job caring for pit bull dogs who are often dismissed by society.. Thanks to them I am happily caring for two of my own. Hopefully we all donate something to assist them in this great task
Sarah Nelson: I'm amazed by everything this rescue does. I fully support them monthly so they can continue to help the dogs in need.
Nicole N: Been trying to reach for weeks now please help or someone reach out if they want to take my dog in
Dk ec: Called numerous time about a loose dog but can't get through.. if u see a stray dog do not call this company they will not pick up the phone.
Jamie Saiberlich: I've foster four dogs through DDR and each time has been nothing short of wonderful. They are quick to email me back when I have concerns. They value my input on the dogs as well. It's been a great teamwork of fostering through them. I talk about DDR all the time and how much I love fostering. Can't recommend them enough!!
mister perfect: I tried so many times calling, been months actually,no answer. I need to surrender a dog,I only have a few days. This is the reason there are a lot of stray dogs out there, you call and call u get no answer basically forcing people to put the dog out in the streets. I'm probably forced to let my dog loose. I have absolutely no one to give him to. No excuse for the missed calls, hire more workers
P N: I hope this organization never stops rescuing and saving dogs.
Dave Appling Jr: No respond to numerous emails or calls. I need to surrender my dog.
Kenny Walters: Best dog rescue in all the land.
Brenda Loose: I cannot say enough about Detroit Dog Rescue. These people work tirelessly helping animals in need of help. They are a no kill shelter and they are truly for the animals. I feel good donating to them because I know the money is going to good use. Also on Amazon you can have a percentage of your order go to Detroit Dog Rescue and it doesn’t cost a thing. So u can help animals for free. I love that. In this new year after such a tough couple years, I want to help where I can and I feel good donating to them and I can highly recommend them. Good people doing a good thing.

Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society: what do users think?
Krustallos Williams: PLEASE PEOPLE READ REVIEWS BEFORE RELINQUISHING YOUR PETS TO THIS ORGANIZATION. THE ADOPTION SIDE (0🌟-RATING) IS COMPLETELY CONTRARY TO THEIR NAME. MI ANTI-CRUELTY SOCIETY ARE CRUEL AND SENSELESS. THEY WILL IMMEDIATELY KILL DOGS, CATS, ETC ONCE IN THEIR POSSESSION. YOUR PETS WILL DO BETTER ROAMING THE STREETS THAN TO BE SENT HERE! AT LEAST THEY WILL BE ALIVE. OPERATIVE WORD "ALIVE"!NONETHELESS, THE VET SIDE (5🌟-RATING) IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE. MAC'S VET ADJACENT TO ADOPTION TRULY CARE FOR YOUR PETS. WHICH BEGS THE QUESTION, IF THEY ARE THE SAME ENTITY/ORGANIZATION BECAUSE THEY OPERATE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
Jackie Inman: We had a stray momma kitty die outside after she gave birth and the shelter took the kittens in the day after and helped us. We take care of a lot of Cats over on the 9500 block of Auburn and when I say they helped us they really came through and for that these people are loved. I couldn’t recommend this facility any more. They are fantastic living professionals ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😻😻😻😻
Kim L: Such a positive experience adopting my dog! So helpful and kind! Love my girl!!!
R Pierson: They went above and beyond. Please if you can donate. They are the most caring and have so much compassion. They help me through a heartbreaking time . When other vet. told a me that i could let him die on the floor or I had to wait days. But They got me in the same day and were so nice to me and my dog..
Oxi Fresh: Fast, efficient and friendly. Takes good care of my pets.
John padilla: Very good to pets.
M H: great people and cause ..... send donations
Toria Smith: very friendly
Effie Gordy: Services are priced cheaper than the Vet's office👍🏾 but, they need a waiting room.
Rachel Navarro: I was being required to spayed my animals just to get on the food program. I was spoken to in a nasty judging manner when I called to schedule them in. Make it make sense, this lady working the phones tues 1/24/23 at 10:34 was very rude to me. All of a sudden it changed to me having to pay when I am low income and their requirements are made and now I’m responsible to pay I will just go to another program and leave my thoughts here. The Michigan human society gives food to low income households every Tuesday and Thursday before 2pm with a state medical or orange card (bridge). And also have low spaying prices. This place needs to retrain their employees because I know the information that was given to me, so my follow up call I should not have been treated as less than a person because I was seeking help.
DEANNA CAVER: I was short on funds and they helped me with dog food and treats. My dog has been under their care for vaccines and care for over three years. We love them!
Jeffrey Knight: Very good work
Lady Michelle Johnson: Open Tuesday through Saturday to the public to get free supplies for your pets.
Yaqoub Nagi: horrible customer service and will PUT YOUR PET DOWN!
Roro A: THE WORST! I had to give away my 3 cats to them because I couldn’t take care of them at the current time. I call the next week to check on them and they said they put them down!!! Wa in the world I thought they were giving them away to other ppl not putting them down! Our whole family was literally heartbroken!
Victoria Harris: Very Caring
Eric Z: They take feral cats in.
Deborah Hogans: They keep my furbaby healthy
Cindy Martin: Caring staff..
C.P. Trischitta: When sressed out over my daughter's pup, your vet and staff came through, diagnosed the problem and didn't make us choose between dog and dollars. Thank you.
Charletta Wells: Very nice, helpful and truly care about the well being of our cats.... They made my daughter and I feel at ease knowing our kittens will be loved and cared for and placed in good homes

Detroit Animal Care and Control: what do users think?
Theresa Lecours: Great staff and volunteers adot don't shop
Denise Straksys: They were friendly and helpful we brought a injured squirrel but they don't take squirrels who are injured but they told us where we could go.
Chris Ropeman: Unorganized
mike murphy: I adopted kara last year
Todd Farrand: I truly admire the work the volunteers do.I could take home 1 or 2 pooches every time.
April W: The female that answers the phone needs to be trained in communication and customer service. Just because it’s “the city” does not mean ignorance is acceptable or going to be tolerated. Please hire someone who is compassionate and actually cares about abandoned animals. Do BETTER city of DETROIT. NOT Aaliyah ! She is really good.
Hadwan Hadwan: Staff is deplorable, completely disrespectful and unprofessional. Tried to bring in a stray dog before kids in the neighborhood get hurt or the dog gets hit by a car. Instead of directing me somewhere where I can take the dog they wanted to act like fools and try gotcha questions to just get you to leave, they could care less about the dogs well-being. Shame on them
Ty B.: I had found a pack of 5 dogs roaming the street and had called to see if they were able to help me catch them I was told it would take 24/48 hours to see any results and every time I put one in my car they would jump right back out
Emma: -100000000000000 stars. Called at 1130 am Monday. This lady was nasty as soon as she answered the call and I waited over 20 minutes in a queue. I have a rescue that will help me take in the dog, but apparently they don't help catch dogs you just make a "complaint" which I wasn't trying to do. And they come out within a few days to come get the dog.
Carolyn Stuart: Everyone there was amazing!
Reva Kovaleski: Ghetto none educated low class workers can’t go in came with 3 very sick kittens called before hand spoke to the people in the building not the call line was told I could bring them was refused to take them because my address is redford Detroit and not just Detroit then was told that I would be ticketed if I just left them by a boy with a little fro and glasses and a confused LITTLE BOY with 2 tone hair he was very angry, & irate screaming up and down the block. Walked up on me I have a video that I since made a police report on for him threatening me on. Was told by the police station legally they can not refuse a animal if they have room also was told that I would not receive a ticket if I had left Them the confused little boy was aggressive and I could have left them. All because his parents didn’t teach him respect now he is going to have a case. Because the police I am not allowed to share the photos and videos.
Eric Jackson: No response to my call about a stray dog I found.
LaDena Brantley: We had a stray cat in our garage that was in need of serious medical attention. We called them to come and get the cat for two days. They told us that they won't pick up the cat unless it was confined in a box or container. We took the necessary steps into confining the cat and call them back and told we did and to send them back to pickup the cat....they never came to get the cat. Unfortunately the cat died in container in our garage.
Shalene Owen: I have adopted two dogs 6 months apart. The latest dog in February. They have been the best dogs that I ever have had! The staff was awesome and very easy to work with. Please adopt, don't shop.
Sally Raphael: Thank you awesome service at the event. top notch from all the volunteers in finding my best friend.
AppleBear: Got a nice 2 yr old puppy. My daughter named him Star. Wasn't too happy that I wasn't allowed to walk through & see the doggies. I sat in a room & had to pick only 2 out of a catalog. Luckily I did pick an awesome tempered dog🐕
Eric Brooks: Friendly
Angelica G: The supervisor is rude and they do kill animals here
Amy Wood: Shout out to Detroit Animal Care and Control, especially Renena who on her personal time saved a Neighborhood loose dog that has been terrorizing many and running loose on a daily basis. What a shame that this is all because off very irresponsible owners. Prayers to all and THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lacina Davis: They didnt help at all
Leota Johnson: I'm so glad they are open 7 days a week. No way can I not register my dogs.

Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit: what do users think?
Constance Colando: We were helping our son move and he had some items to donate like old towels, sheets, pillow cases. These were all items this wonderful shelter could use. They even accepted a large stainless steel wastebasket that they said could be used in their shelter. The people I met were very helpful and it seemed well staffed. Even though this is a newer facility, they are already expanding. There must be a need and they certainly are there helping animals in need of good loving homes.
Derrick Ray: can load your debit card and with food I was looking for
Mr. Unknown: Horrible, took my lost cat and when I informed them about it with proof and evidence they never responded and sold my cat.
Scaredy Cats: Wanted to give FAMD a five start rating, because we've had nothing but great experiences with them. A few years ago, we brought my brother in law there to get his first pet ever and she is fantastic. The staff and volunteers were all so caring for the animals, and it shown. On April first, we came back for a cat of our own. We wanted to help a kitty that had been there for a bit, and their excitement over her getting her forever home was the sweetest thing. We've only had her for a couple days now, and she's such a loving girly. You can tell she was much loved while there, by the staff and volunteers. They let us stay past closing to finish up the paperwork and helped us with borrowing a carrier to fit her, since ours was too small. Would always recommend theese guys, they care for and love the animals for sure and are here to help them find their furrever homes.
Barb Saleh: Caring staff. Neat and clean.
chris jones: They are strict in a good way.
GalacticstationFM: Very friendly staff here
Jeri ONeill: Great people doing great work.
carolyn molnar: Everyone is knowledgeable and helpful.
Tamara Bolden: Great staff, very nice 💗We love our new cat bubbly .
Aaron Landfair: They have good staff and all around good help
Shimeka Williams: Come and get this Lovely animal ❤
Eda Komora: Called this place looking for assistance to rehome a dog. Someone did call back to say they had no space for him. This is the only place I called that day, that actually acknowledged and returned my call.
mariam Jaber: They have cute animals and all the workers are so nice
Omda Hakeem: They are okay but too much
the Chateau: they'll refuse to give you the animal you pick, they will claim its taken.
Juan Charleston: Well I have Adopted 2dogs from them and I love them both and they get alone really good with each other and my kids love them I have a Blue nose pitt and a brindle pit that I got from friends for Animals of Metro Detroit
Carlos: All amazing people here ! Relaxed environment to walk around and look at cats! Plenty of good pets to go around!! Adopt ! Went to adopt a cat and had a fantastic experience! All shots and medical things taken care of . Highly recommend
Jeffrey Payton: I adopted my forever fur baby 2 years ago from here and can not thank you enough. Since the pandemic hit and we were forced to work from home I waited almost a year to be able to find a dog to adopt. When sparrow became available I jumped at adopting her. Very glad to have her as part of our family. If I could I would adopt all unwanted dogs.
blackmoom: Adopted a cat from this shelter last weekend, and it was an excellent experience! I had adopted my previous cat from there also, and sadly she had passed away. Facility is great and the volunteer staff are outstanding 👍. Highly recommend!
rory lake: If I could rate it 0 stars I would. The worst animal shelter ever!!

Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption: what do users think?
April Dionisi: Dropped off a small dog I found running around harper woods. Spoke with owner Kurin. She was very nice and assured me that she would make sure she would try to find the owner and not just adopt it out to just anyone.
Karen Katko: The people at this adoption agency are wonderful. So nice and accommodating. Gail was very helpful in deciding which dog would be a good fit for me. I haven’t had a chance to get down there because my work hours are so fluctuating, but don’t worry Gail, I will be sure to make it down there soon, to find my forever best friend. 😊
India Ellison: They found my fur baby and took great care of him until I got their and also called me when he got out a second time very easy to work with and super nice people
Patti Cole: Adopted a beautiful 10 year old special needs cat from there on Tuesday. They are highly professional, informative and care a lot about the animals in their care. I cannot say enough good things about them.. highly recommend
Tee Venti: Happy 😊 🐾 is our newest rescue from here and we couldn't be happier!! It's been a few weeks now and she's adjusting very well with our family and friends 🐾💜🐾
Barron Brissette: I think they need a better process for pet adoption. Lazy on the making sure they go to a good home place.
robert “Doll face” Calhoun: Caring and loving staff
Danielle O'Connor: Absolutely love Corrine and all of the staff at Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption!!! We have adopted two dogs from there and everyone was amazing?
Shamira Sinclair: Me and my family went to this adoption place because they were having an adoption event everything seemed fine until we walked in and we were the only black family in the building, now thats fine because that would be expected considering the area we live in. But the issue was every animal we wanted to see they seemed have an excuse for but other people seemed to be able to see them. We didn’t feel welcomed at all and it was just an uncomfortable experience, my brother just wanted to see a few dogs and barely saw any because they keep them hidden away yet this is supposed to be an adoption event?
Robert Dege: No kill facility. Will place animals with foster families while awaiting adoption. Adopted animals leave spade or neutered. There is an adoption fee. One-on-one meetings are scheduled to determine compatibility before adoption can take place.Every Saturday there are viewings for the purpose of adopting. Cats/kittens 10-11 am and dogs/ puppies 1-2 pm.
Tamtam Sloto: They put Roxy down, I called for 2 weeksShe was beautiful, danced tippy toes. Happy girl! I wanted her
Genia Sparkman: Well I am still waiting on them to get back with me I filled out the adoption application so we shall see keep fingers crossed.
Caroline Griffin: Just the best later 😌 for te rest. Absolutely 💯 Awesome
Margaret: Still waiting for a call back after meet and greet
Brandi Stebbins: Honestly, I was looking to adopt a new dog as I recently had mine stolen, but after seeing these adoption fees why would anyone adopt?
TIFFANY MCCABE (Detroit Duchess): Great trusting organization
Lynn Calcaterra (Phoenix): I Adopted the sweetest little dog, she's just so adorable and we're starting to get to know each other. I'm learning all are silent clues she has for everything. She's sporting a new bandana today, her name is Tan, but I'm in the process of renaming her to Foxy, she just looks like one, not the name Tan that she came with.
Arshanda Chapman: Every one I spoke to was very nice and helpful
Robert Quinn: Amazing staff during our adoption of Jack!! ❤️
William Zoufal: Perfect place for all kinds of animals care and assistance.
Sally Levinson: Wonderful! I've been too many animal shelters since I put my 😸 down💔💦💧😪 but this one is special I think I will be adopting my new 😸 from here I ended up.getting a cat from here Reggie and he's filling the void left by losing my 😸 I'm not saying he's a replacement oh.no but a new beginning
