The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company: what do users think?
Sharvil Patankar: Terrible treatment of their workers. Terrible leadership. They would rather close their stores than unionize their workforce.
Tahleez Bartels: One of the secret, pure delights hidden along Woodward AVE.This is a café that I would regularly visit on my weekends. I've enjoyed minutes to hours of conversation, studying, and writing while admiring the quaint esthetic that this shop has to offer. The interior has a bucolic vibe joined with a hipster, concert, after-show feel. The tables and floor are primarily made out of wood, but the walls are brick. Sitting in the room itself is calming, almost like drinking coffee in a window sill on a sun-lit morning. The Staff have always been kind to me. They are friendly and unafraid of questions and small conversations. My only complaint is that when they call out orders, I at times fail to hear them, and my drink will be sitting at the counter for quite some time, but this has only happened once or twice.I have had a little of everything in terms of their menu. Both their savory and sweet options are beyond delectable. Their sandwiches are large in portions and delicious. Their Coffee is rich and sweet. My personal favorite dessert will always be an affogato, but just about every option has been/will be enjoyable. The price is a bit high for the amount of coffee you receive, and I would even go as far as saying the food is in the same boat. I enjoy both non the less, and don't mind paying a bit more for the quality of food.I would advise the coffee lovers and the interior admirers of the Detroit area to come and visit The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company. I would recommend this café for morning breakfasts, casual lunches, day-time dates, or simple alone time for studying/relaxing throughout the day.
clifford konstans: Just not a vibe
me myself: Too bad they're closed. The idiots who are protesting this place. Keep pressing on.
Andrew Spaulding: Used to be a great coffee shop, but the quality of employees went down drastically over the past couple years. They should fire everyone, hire new staff, and reopen!
Steven Long (Scuba Steve): A business shouldn't exist if it can't treat their employees with respect and pay a living wage!
Grace B: unfair to workers
Pierre Letourneau: Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: YesMore
Brandon Slaugher: A very uninviting place for non white people. Terrible food, but great coffee. If only people of color weren't treated so badly by the employees. I personally was assumed to be a homeless person by the cashier for being brown and wearing a winter coat? This place is not good for Detroit or its citizens and it is my hope that they'll close their doors very soon and go somewhere else so they can stop ruining our city's culture. Also, who eats unsalted avocado? Terrible, terrible, place.
Don Copolla: I caught covid in their establishment due to them making their workers work while they are sick. Dont go here.
Natasha Jaffar: beware!!! they have been forcing employees with covid to work at their locations!!!
Marianne Gendron: This company doesn't care about their customers and workers health condition. Not a safe place.
abbie ward: This company doesn't care about their workers.
Parth Bhatt: Great coffee place, would highly recommend it if you're in downtown. Staff is nice and friendly. Cozy ambiance!Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: No …More

Lisa Eldredge: Great coffee! Nice atmosphere, study customers in and out.
Keyona B: Awesome and cozy atmosphere
Paige Cook: Baristas are on point! They were kind and helpful, and even had suggestions cause I was so obviously new and overwhelmed. I even found myself chatting with the barista making my drinks while I was waiting, and that felt like it cu wait time in half! I honestly cannot wait to go back and have another perfectly made coffee, thank you!!

Baydoun Baydoun: f you're a coffee aficionado, then you'll love the coffee beans from this amazing Roasting Plant Coffee! This place has some of the best coffee beans in town, sourced from some of the most exotic places around the world. The aroma of the freshly roasted beans alone is enough to make your mouth water! The staff at this coffee shop is knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, and he'll happily guide you through their selection to help you find the perfect bean to suit your taste. he offers a range of roast levels, from light to dark, and they'll even grind the beans for you if you don't have your own grinder at home. What really sets this coffee shop apart, though, is the quality of their beans. They only use the highest quality Arabica beans, which are roasted in small batches to ensure maximum freshness and flavor. And let me tell you, the flavor is out of this world! Whether you're looking for a rich, bold espresso or a smooth, mellow pour-over, they've got you covered.Overall, if you're looking for a coffee shop that takes their beans seriously, then this is the place for you. You won't find better quality beans anywhere else in town, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help. So why not stop by today and try some of their amazing coffee beans for yourself? You won't regret it!

Mariah: Good but quite pricy for the size of the drink.
Bruce Seiler: Love the drinks and beans from this place. Staff is always helpful on selecting beans and making suggestions for different liquid refreshments. Much better than stuffy chains.Recommended dishes Coffee Brewed, Coffee Experience …More

Leonardo D.: Right at the heart of Downtown, Madcap serves some of the best coffee in the Metro area. Originally from Grand Rapids, I consider them one of the specialty coffee authorities in the state of Michigan. Any coffee drink you may think of will be nicely produced. The spot is very bright and spacious, with ample standing bars; so don't think this will be the coffee shop you can come and station for hours to work remotely. However, in the summer they have seating outside on the alley. Surrounded by the Shinola hotel, the newly opened Gucci store, Queens bar, and more you'll sure be in for cool people watching. A must check in when in town!

Stella Good Coffee: what do users think?
Natalie Unger: One of the most delicious pour over coffees I’ve ever tasted.
Øystein Hafstad Bang: Amazing coffee in spectacular circumstances!
Laith Ejeilat: Update:The vibe of this place is so chill and calming. It's cozy, the music is always soothing, and the coffee is consistently so good. I absolutely love their sugar-free caramel latte. Their team (Glenn and Mekka) are also kind, calm, and chill. I love this place.Update: they are one of the few places that offer the sugar-free caramel flavor to add to a latte, and I love it. Their lattes are delicious.First time impression: this place is a hidden treasure! A great coffee shop offering very pleasant coffee including pour over. One of the two kind baristas, Mecca, told me their beans are from Cadillac Roasters.Despite having a small footprint, they have a cute little variety of seating options, and the music is some form of upbeat jazz; all within the scope of cozy and delightful.
Morgan Shatz: Great dirty Chai!
A P: This is a hidden gem in the New Center area. Long time friendly staff who take pride in their coffee and service. Pour over is made fresh for you while you wait. Nice sitting area inside the beautiful Fisher Building.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Elizabeth Darwish: Great coffee, friendly people, lovely baked goods to go with coffee. Beautiful art deco surroundings.
Cody Hansen: It is always a pleasure to stop down for coffee at Stella’s! The coffee itself is brewed just right and the flavor is better than I can make at home with my own beans. I should mention I work in the fisher and have been visiting this coffee shop for over 5 years
Fourteen Forty: Great coffee, beautiful setting, a must try!
Kai Daniels: Braista is one of the best in the city! Try the Chai Latte if you don't believe me ;)
Colleen E: We've had some of the best coffee in WA and this place was fantastic. Also, very nice and kind staff.
Will Behrick: Cool coffee spot inside the Fisher Bldg. Tasty drinks, friendly staff with seating inside and out.Check out the shelf across from counter while you wait for your brewed-to-order coffee for a variety of items to purchase. Not my first visit and won't be the last.
Farah Fadel: Love their pour over! And the barista is so friendly and knowledgeable
kaje.jasper fragz: best chai latte around
Noah: Wonderful friendly staff and great coffee!
ammy fisher: Come on how hard is it to update your website to say that you’re closed. Paid for parking walked in your building to find out that you haven’t been open in months
R. DaNell: Great cup of coffee!
John Armstrong: Delicious authentic food, served hot, promptly and with a gracious smile. Pricing is reasonable.
H Liu: Good pour over coffee. Try the Michigan Cherry on a cold winter day, will not disappoint.
Glesdia Odom: Great coffee fast service
Sandy Pace: First off, I would not have given any stars but would not let me leave a review without at least 1 star. So, we decided to try Stella Good Coffee inside the Fisher Building this afternoon, excited to try yet another coffee shop. We walked in and that is where it quickly plunged downhill. The employee who was behind the counter (who did not greet us warmly, let alone at all), will be the reason I will never be back. She was very cold and had absolutely no customer service in her DNA. I went in with a great attitude and left wondering why this coffee shop would employ such a person with no personality whatsoever. Coffee shop people are usually very friendly and happy...not her. I don't like leaving bad reviews and I always try to make a bad situation good (giving the benefit of the doubt), but this employee never even attempted to redeem herself. She did, however, provide me with a blank stare as I was trying to make conversation...very awkward and uncomfortable, to say the least.
Chris Jackson: Great space inside the fisher building but that’s where it stops. Service is average at best, pour over is quick and no attention to detail. Decent tasting coffee but I personally think with more love in every cup this place could be so much better.

An angry long haired barista came over to the bathroom door and told us to “get out” and threatened to call the police. anastasios zaharias: I liked this inclusive spot to grab a coffee—and usually a great atmosphere. However, on this occasion, with out-of-town friends with small children, we went in for the mother to feed her infant child and grab some coffee to warm up. After ordering a coffee, the child was fussy and crying. This is when the staff approached us and asked us to leave because the crying baby bothered other customers that were studying. We were also paying customers and were in there for ten minutes, plus we were not going to stay long. To tell a mother that she needed to leave because of her crying baby is unbelievable! I will not steer any out-of-town guests to this coffee house ever again, and they lost me as a customer. I have lived in the city for over 15 years and used to like going here never again.Students studying usually grab one coffee and take a spot for hours on end using the internet. Excellent customer service to push out paying customers because a mother has a crying baby. Noninclusive establishment.
Varun Suri: Got the vanilla oat-milk latte; not too bad! I’ll probably be back to try other flavored lattes. Shop could be a little more clean, but provided the coffee shops vibes we were in the mood for!Recommended dishes Rose Latte …More
Batool Alabri: This coffee shop was one of my favorites. I have been coming almost every day, but a woman working there with short hair and glasses is always disrespectful to me. She doesn’t even smile, and I didn't even do anything wrong to her. She got bored because I see her every day. Also, her face always changes from that of a good to a bad person when she sees me. I won’t support this coffee shop anymore.

Lucky Detroit - Coffee & Espresso: what do users think?
Paris Damselfly: Totally decent place. Nice service. Entertaining hipster decor. Good biscotti. Our beverages had no flavor - very watery. Got iced dirty chai and iced matcha. We didn't hang out because two little girls screaming & climbing all over the tables acting like they were at an amusement park (while parents ignored them) really ruined the vibe. From the moment we walked in we had to shout over them.
Dominic Moes: Great smooth lattes
Melissa from Michigan: Adorable coffee shop is a must visit. I ordered a cappuccino and it was delicious. I got no sweetener added and at first sip it tasted like chocolate. We also tried a couple pastries, chocolate Crossiant and cherry Danish. The Danish was perfectly buttery.
Ron Reed: This is contrary service only. The coffee is excellent. Lucky Detroit is one if two great choices for coffee in Corktown. The other being James Oliver.Lucky has a much smaller selection of baked goods, but it's a great place to read alone or relax with a friend. It is usually library quiet.I recommend Lucky if you're looking for a simple place to catch up with a friend in Corktown.Parking: Parking on the side street or Michigan Avenue has always been available when I drive over.

Adi V: Wonderful coffee! Great place to get work done and great pastries.
Fatme Amine: There is nothing lucky about this place. The barista was very cut and dry… appeared to be high on drugs. Also, the caramel latte she made me was cold and nasty. It had a weird after taste.
Ja'La Jones: Great service, Jason was amazing. The Carmel latte tastes so original. I highly recommend

Upstairs, nice to relax and have that corktown smooth atmosphere experience. The staff was nice and helpful. The raspberry turnover was yummy. Will definitely be back to have more coffee and get a haircut right next door.

Urban Bean Co.: what do users think?
Al Young: Meh
Ben Lepley: Just remodeled, check it out!
Yuji Tk: Cool interior, coffee is better than starbucks. They play club music and it's cool but a little loud. The shop should be cleaned up.
TravelingTrashPanda: I mean what’s not to love really. It’s my favorite coffee shop in Detroit. My only request is that you guys get whip cream! :)
Maranda Rumsley: Best mexican hot chocolate
Sarah Smiley: Awesome coffee, good ppl, gotta try
Karyn Elizabeth: The green fairy latte is very nice. Service is tranquil and competent. Bathroom is grotesque and structurally beyond properly cleaning without renovation, only the owners fault not the staff. A few stools at a counter. Some reading material, pastries, energy bars, and a tea selection serve as decorations amongst the random signs and art. It is more of a quick stop place but I think there may be upstairs seating, I don't think it's handicap accessable. In fact, if you are wheelchair bound or have a stroller this cafe is going to be a real difficult place to be accommodated.
Andrea Grace: Quaint, relaxed, nice place to visit with a friend & have a hot coffee or tea
Ayushi Kumar: This is a very affordable coffee shop as compared to other shops in Detroit. Location wise, a literal hole in the wall. It's a small shop that is connected to a parking structure. Because of this, they do not have a designated lot and finding reasonable street side parking can be a pain. However, they have a unique coffee menu (I liked the green faire latte) which was very attractive to me. Music can be loud so not necessarily the best spot if you are looking for a peaceful place. Great view though on the second floor though! Not many food options, just a few pastry options that they get from Avalon bakery.
Christian Kanakis: Live this place! Great coffee!Nothing stops Detroit!!!
Ricardo Benavides: Great coffee and atmosphere.
Chiquita B: Had a blast. Brunch techno. What more do you need. Meet new friendly faces. Good times
Garrett Abbott: Place always closing early and buy a large and medium it's the same thing here don't waste your time joke
andee batton: Great little spot in the city. Awesome music and great coffee. The service is some of the best around. The only thing I dont like is the place is freezing. We live in Michigan. Turn up the heat! Other than that, great coffee shop.
Kent Butler: I always love stopping in at Urban Bean Co. One of the longest standing coffee shops in Detroit that helps out and supports the local community. The second floor has a unique feeling from any of the other shops in the area. Usually a quite place to work or a great place to people watch. Definitely a gem in the heart of Detroit.
Constance Chapman: Very good tea and service!
Cody Ryan Martell: Super unique coffee shop, friendly staff, cool evening events sometimes. If you're looking to stop in the middle of your day for a coffee and relax, or if you want to take some neat photos for your modeling Instagram account, this is the place to go
Dignan 19: Tasty brew
Deven Damiano: I like this place much more than Rural Bean Co., as controversial as that statement may be, I'm putting everything on the line for this place. Bring your lawyers. Bring your sellswords. I've got three of your assassins tied up to my stationary bicycle as we speak. Everytime I ride, I listen to their screams agony to fuel my energy. Go me. Go Urban Bean Co. Boo assassins. Boo liable. Boo slander. I'm telling the truth. I never lie. Jesus always watches. He is my owner. He will spank me if I'm not good. He really likes Urban Bean Co. and so do I. Bye!!
Aleena Watford: Excellent roasts and beverage crafting. Fairie Latte is amazing. Great space welcoming to all types and friendly knowledgeable baristas
