Simon: Great food .
Frank Camarillo: I was blown away on how juicy the chicken was. This place was on point for value and qualityFood: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
swampy fm: Great location great atmosphere excellent selection of draft drinks staff friendly food exceptionalFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Timothy Lindsay: Love this place! Best chicken and waffles and mimosas!
Jill Orent: The chicken and waffles were off the charts!
James Hall: Hallie was SO accommodating and friendly! She really made our experience! Only 4 stars because the salad we ordered was not really worth $21, otherwise fun atmosphere and great drinks. The tomato bisque is where it’s at
kimberly storks: Just SUPER FAB !!!!
Mitchell: The staff is absolutely stellar.
Kelly Mramor: Loved the atmosphere and the ginger ale
Paul Gullick: We popped in for a light snack whilst visiting the city center. They've got a great range of beers, the location is perfect and there's plenty of space. However the service left a bit to be desired. Our waitress took ages with our drinks and forgot the 2nd round we ordered. The food was tasty though. As we'd travelled over from Wales this fell well short of the renowned American service levels we hear about and experienced else where.
ZTK: Great service & fantastic food. I'd come here again.
Johnny B: Wish I could have been able to give a review of the establishment it self but the hostess huffed and puff when ask to sit outside. She should have just came out and said I'm lazy and don't care. Maybe it's good but the staff sucked
Jessica Henry: True pub experience and absolutely loved our service and the shepherds pie!
Jennifer Hennes: Very cool old building. Didn't eat, but observed the food coming out of the kitchen. Shepherds Pie looked delicious!
Daniel Luscombe: I’ve been to Grand Trunk a dozen times over the years, sometimes with a group of friends or after/before weddings or events. Great food and atmosphere. So it was a natural choice when a group of us wanted to get drinks after a friends wedding. 5 Stars to the friendly and efficient bartender who served us! - However, it has been a long time since I’ve met servers that rude. The place was dead empty and we arrived in good spirits, certainly not unruly— and we were greeted like the plague! He whined and complained, slapped appetizers on the table (showering pickle chips on a guest) and said he was expecting another large party (who never did appear?) — I can honestly say we were pretty low maintenance, and the bartender quickly helped organize tabs and made sure we got drinks- I believe it is a bit of a wedding tradition to leave generous tips- so I hope she was the beneficiary of this! — If I ran Forans - I’d speak to your server— we felt so unwelcome we started looking for another spot, but luckily the bartender sorted it out pretty easy, so we could all have a nice time
Debbie Petteys: I was there for lunch. The service was fast and courteous. The food was outstanding! I'll definitely go back again.
Christie Ford: Best Bloody Mary!
Gerald Perry: Incredible beer selection, and really nice staff. My meal was great too!
cailin seip: Went here for dinner last night, our server (I forget her name) and her trainee Stephen were hands down the most amazing servers i’ve ever had at any restaurant before. Service, food and drinks were amazing. If you go here, you must try the Finnegan, it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had.
Eddy Libralesso: La cameriera era molto gentile e disponibile a dare informazioni. Cibo medio a mio parere.. ma comubque non male
Nicole: Food was mediocre and over priced. Staff very unhelpful and lazy.

Gaelic League Irish American Club: what do users think?
Peggy Read: The Friday Fish Fry is one of the best in metro Detroit. Delicious fried cod, friendly staff.
Jesse Anaya: If you want the best guineas pint in the D, then you need to become a member. If you are lucky, you may see a shamrock at the top.
Ron Reed: This is a Corktown classic and a place where you should visit at least one time to gain the true Orish spirit of Corktown.
Jamie Tesch: So much fun!
Willy Robo: My absolute favorite place in Detroit and perhaps, Michigan. Lovely folks, great dancing and music. Guinness done right, of course.
J W: This is a fun place to hang out for any of the big events they host. Alcohol is usually pretty reasonably priced at $7 a drink. It was cash only they did have food available and live music. Indoor bathrooms were closed and had a huge amount of Porta potties outside in the back of the building.
Sassy Sassafras: Great time, great music and great people for St. Patrick's day! My only complaint was that they cleared the place of all the seating leaving a lot of older folks standing the whole time. :/
Lorelai M: Check out the awesome pizza!
Thomas L: Good time as usual and a great pint of Guinness. Serving pizza on Saturdays its good!
Scott Andrew Sucher: awesome venue to perform in!
Jeanine B: Great people. Great drinks. Awesome music.
Rachael Prenkert: It's a nice and inexpensive bar. The membership is cheap. It has a cozy fireplace area which is great for gathering with friends in the winter. It feels like a pub in Ireland.
Bee: people working the door stopped letting people in without negotiation, tried to tackle my friend to the ground and one of the guys put his hand on another of my friend's throat. not cool
Joseph Sanchez: Really nice venue / bar / hangout in Detroit.Came down for Santarchy. The staff were super accommodating and nice. The bartender was really good and friendly. They know how to properly pour a Guinness, which is huge.Saw some live music and the room acoustics were surprisingly good.I definitely recommend coming here to hang out.
Kate Davis: Visited for an old friend's concert. Great venue and bar with a lot of history. Places like these are what make Detroit special.
J. min: Always a good time.
Patti Nelson Saucier: Great friendly Irish bar.
Liam Ryan: Great spot... good energy, great beer, stellarbcrowd. Definitely going to be back soon
Syri Simpson: I was there for a Fundraiser, so I can only say they have great Bar Staff, a large Dance Floor on the cleanest Restroom I have seen in a Bar.They also have Handicap Access at the entrance and there seemed to be ample parking for Cars and bikes.I had a great time

Danny's Irish Pub: what do users think?
Brent Yousoufian-White: Love the staff they always be so nice to me.
Brittany Pavelko: May 18 11:49pm the bartender working tonight, creamy is a rude, mean, condescending person. I will never come back again. She treated me and my friend so badly for no reason at all, all we did was walk in and she talked down on us and gave us a terrible attitude. Never again. First and last time.
Danielle Schwartz: Love this place drinks are a good price staff is great tables outside for smoking good times
Bernard Taylor: The lady bartender here is extremely rude. We came here for my mother’s birthday and wasn’t in the building longer than five minutes before we were greeted with an attitude. There are far too many bars in the area to put up with that type of service.
Chuck Green: Cheap drinks Sassy Bartenders, not family friendly, but if you are there long enough you Will make friends, love this local bar.
Nathan'yel Yasharel: Nice crowd, not too loud, good drinks. Good place to have a good time in Ferndale.
mike innes: Great prices very nice bartenders and Danny's a great guy
Eric Leslie: Gave my credit card away to another patron. A friend almost had a different credit card given to him as well. Will not be going back and do not recommend.
Nate Funnell: Real nice pub. A normal place if you will in a world full of cookie cutter box bars..
Lisa Myers (Lethal): One of my favourite hallways! We stop by whenever we are in Ferndale 😊
Nikki Tucker: Stopped in for the first time for a drink, and this place is just lovely. It's small and older, which I love! The bartender was great and the atmosphere was super chill.
Rich Basher: Enjoyed a Guinness and some Jameson shots.
Tower News: Good Team. Cheap drinks. Small and dingy. A fine place to remember the next day or not. Free popcorn.
Franchezca Peralta: As a group of minority women, I say DONT COME HERE. We came to this pub around 1am after celebrating a DJ friends birthday party a few minutes down the road. We came, stated we just wanted a few drinks to wait on our ride that was 20+ minutes away, The waitress immediately greeted us with an attitude - mind you they close at 2 am. I went to the bathroom then asked for a drink and she said "no were closed SORRY" in a condescending tone. With 20+ minutes to close I said "it's not 2?" and she said "based on MY time we are closed". We left with people still in the bar getting drinks. Honestly she had an attitude from the moment we came in, It was uncomfortable and unnecessary, unless you are clearly Irish I wouldn't recommend this bar. Gross
Olivia Szetela: Bartender was very rude, refused to serve us after one round of drinks and wouldn’t give a reason. Won’t be coming back, plenty of better bars to chose from.
Douglas Grimes: I lost my credit card. Come to find out that I left it at this establishment. I cancelled the card but not before they tipped themselves 18$ on a 10$ drink.....
Lisa Fogarty: Service was okay... Had to wait for the bartender's attention from time to time, but we're very nice.
Justin Post: Janelle is the best bartender Detroit has to offer. It's almost like she was born for this. If Janelle wasn't here I would have not had near the experience I did. 20/10. If I could give someone a raise myself I would.
Renee Kuczeski: Fun atmosphere, cheap drinks!
Hornet35: Extra star for the 2 pinball machines.Just your average bar.
Ayman Daher: On Wednesday January 12th I came into the bar and encountered the nicest bartender ever! I don’t know what Shawn Quinn was talking about her, she was excellent!

Zach L: Due to a memorial event we were only limited to the first floor of the restaurant and it was extremely tight. Waitresses we're not attentive to our party and didn't check on us pretty much at all. We ordered an appetizer and it didn't come out until the rest of our main courses arrived, no apologies or explanation from the staff. The burgers were charred on the outside and undercooked in the outside. The brisket burger was inedible due to the sheer amount of fat it contained. Similarly the corn beef was very fatty and was not tender at all. The food quality was subpar as well as the service, we will not be returning.
Megan Sonnenberg: My friends and I met here for St. Patrick’s Day and had a BLAST!! Good band, good drinks, and just a good time all around! Only complaints were that the music was SO loud you had to scream at the top of your lungs to talk to people.
Pat Martin: The band was terrific but the food was lukewarm. 😢

Danielle Morris: I typically do not like to write bad reviews. But sometimes they are absolutely deserved. We went to celebrate my best friends birthday at John Cowleys last night. We had reservations made weeks in advance through Craig to be able to sit upstairs and enjoy the band we came to watch, eat food and drink drinks. We showed up 20 minutes early before our reservation time just to be told Craig never wrote our reservations down and they did not have space for us. We were “accommodated” and put into a small room downstairs far from where we were supposed to be. And it quickly filled up and overflowed with people due to there not being enough space. Then comes the drinks and the food. Be prepared to spend $8 on a regular size can of white claw. I ordered a Caesar salad and when it was brought to me it was literally a plate of lettuce dollar store croutons, Parmesan cheese you put on spaghetti and cold dried out chicken. I also had soup and after I finished eating the soup within 20 minutes I felt sick to my stomach and was running to the bathroom puking. I had to leave for the evening because I was absolutely in so much pain. The way that management handled the evening was absolutely disgusting. They should be trained on how to handle their mistakes. The staff was rude. It was all poorly managed. Not to mention, they ruined a persons birthday celebration. I do not recommend this place at all.
