The one thing that immediately made me understand the professionalism of this office was before my appointment as a new patient I received a call to review my dental insurance to ensure I understood what was and was not covered. This is HUGE in a environment where quality health care is sliding. In fact, the technician who took my x-rays went to the front desk to ensure my insurance covered the particular x-rays needed! I found the staff professional and friendly. The exams as a new patient were thorough and comfortable. I felt the team had my best interest at heart when I talked to them about my health and caring for my teeth. At the end of the day when it comes to great dental care one must determine if they are in experienced and professional hands and I feel I am at Family Dental Group.

Barbara Gratsch: It used to be a great dental office. The staff now is extremely rude & the manager was also rude to my cardiologist’s office when I needed clearance for blood thinners. The dentist was in the room with me for about two minutes and all she did was try to sell me a high priced implant or a crown instead of pulling the tooth like I wanted. When I tried to get another appointment again to have it pulled because half of it had now broken off I was told she couldn’t get me in for almost 3 weeks. I ended up finding a new dental office &they got me in the next day & that dentist told me the tooth was too badly broken to even put a crown on and pulled it. I’ll never recommend anyone to go to Family Dental on Miller Rd.

Bethany Hazard: I have been going to family dental for years. Angie, the lady that cleans my teeth does a wonderful job. Recently I had to have two teeth pulled. I was shocked because I go to the dentist as I should. Angie took more x rays and found the two bad teeth. She told me the last x rays did not turn out, (upside down) so my bad teeth were not caught. I was referred to an oral surgeon. When my tooth starting hurting terribly over the weekend, I called on Monday to get something for pain and antibiotics. The lady on the phone said she would call me back. When she never called, I called back again and talked to someone different and they said they called the scripts into a rite aid in the township. I drove to the pharmacy of their choice, and the pharmacist said they never called anything in. I was in terrible pain, and by that time this dentist office was closed. After years of going to this place I am very disappointed in my treatment. Moreover, they change dentists often and no dentists stay there long, which may be part of the problem. The manager did call me back, which I appreciated. However, she is training a new girl and but her in change of calling the pharmacy. I was in horrible pain and felt I was not taken seriously. Moreover, them not catching that I had two bad teeth sooner was disappointing and costed me a lot of $$ since the oral surgeon had to take more x rays. I wonder why they did not send my rays over to the oral surgeon? As a long time patient, I feel they do not want me as a patient, or that my business was valued. I have always paid my bill have have been nice to everyone there. For them to turn on me like this makes me feel like they knew they made a mistake in the x rays. Would not it be better to be upfront and honest, than to loose a patient?

Tiffany Nicole: I have no idea why this place allowed me to come at all. I stated I'd need an extraction. They said they could assist me in a few days. The first appointment was canceled. It was two weeks later I got in to find they couldn't do anything but suggest I get an extraction. So I rushed to find someone last minute. Someone was able to fit me in last minute at Deluxe Dental. The procedure had a lot of pain and it was hard for them to numb me for some reason. Afterwards Deluxe Dental ENTIRELY FAILED at pain management after the procedure. I had to go back and ask for help. Then I was given 10 tablets that last only 4hr to 6hr tops. It was enough for not even two full days given on a Thursday evening. Well, that left me in excruciating pain from late night Saturday on. I do not suggest either of these dentists EVER to ANYONE. DO NOT GO HERE EVER, unless you want to suffer a week or two, and not be able to eat. Since the last time I ever asked for or was prescribed pain medicine was over 6 years prior there is simply no reason. This is exactly why people avoid dentists.

Long wait for someone to pick up the phone when you call, 10minutes or more. Otherwise its a nice place. Didn't get my welcome kit after my cleaning. I'm not sure if it's their custom as I've always gotten a care pack at all my dentist visits in the past.

Shannon Keahey: I've had a couple consultations for ortho, but I feel like I finally found the right place at Aspen. The other places I visited suggested further cosmetic work once the braces are removed to "fix" my smile more. (thought that's what the braces were for?🤔) The other places I went also told me I would look "so much better" after braces.So definitely some weird vibes from orthodontists, and I almost decided to leave my teeth as-is. Everyone at Aspen in Flint was SO kind and encouraging, and I actually felt excited after my visit. I'm getting their brand of Invisalign called motto for about $2500 instead of $5000+. I always hated going to the dentist because I take care of my teeth, but they'd always complain and find something to fix. At Aspen they actually acknowledged that I take care of my teeth. I was skeptical at first because I haven't had good dentist/ortho experiences, but I like Aspen and I'm glad I scheduled an appointment there!

Because my appointment was near closing the dentist told me “We close in thirty minutes so if you want your teeth pulled, you need to hurry and decide.” I was not offered antibiotics for the infection. Then they proceeded to tell me that they could not do anything until they contacted my insurance first and never called me back.

She noticed a chip in an existing filling, and Dr. Knight and the staff made time to apply a new filling within minutes. The staff informed me well at every stage, and took care of all my dental needs with kindness.
