Meredith Haddock: Thought this was a great place for my grandmother, but a lot has changed recently and feels like a bait and switch. Advertising 24 hour emergency services, yet when she pulled her emergency cord in her room, the director came and said their was nothing she could do. When she moved in a couple months ago there was always someone on staff and now there's no one. Thank God life alert took care of things. We're extremely disappointed.

Judith S: My brother-in-law lives at Genesee Gardens. We visited 3 senior living apartment complexes. My brother-in-law chose Genesee Gardens. The apartment complex is well maintained, very nicely decorated. The dining room is a dining room not a cafeteria. The food is tasty and nicely prepared. There are several options offered at each meal as well as a small deli area where residents can choose a fresh half sandwich, fruit, snacks. The staff is friendly and helpful. The apartment is cleaned each weeks. The other residents are friendly. Pets are allowed. Transportation is available. I would live there.

My mother, who is an 88 year old assertive, talented, friendly, outspoken and bossy resident is extremely happy there.The staff goes above and beyond to welcome their residence and make them feel exactly like they are at home.

My mom live there for a little over a year and I really can't say enough good about the management and the staff and even the people. It's a well-built warm and clean place. At the time it was less expensive than other places as well but I don't know if that's the case now. Thankful they were there for my mom.

They have been wonderful to my Mother-In-law especially during this pandemic. Excellent management of the Pandemic. Patricia Hendry: I only have wonderful things to say about Genesee Gardens in Flint, MI!!! Especially during the pandemic! My mom has been living here for 5 years and I have no complaints! It is comforting to know they implemented and follow through with strict precautions during the pandemic. I feel bad we couldn’t visit for a while, but we called her every day, I dropped off grocery’s, treats, books, magazines for her to read once a week and the busy staff delivered them in a timely fashion. She also waved to us from her balcony. With so many high risk people living there it is comforting to know they weren’t taking chances with people coming and going or residents interacting with each other. My mother raves about the food -quality and quantity that is delivered to her 3 times a day, along with snacks!! Kudos to the wonderful, caring staff at Genesee Gardens!

Reid sanders: Move in day for my mom welcomed us with a room that hadn’t been cleaned. I had to kill spiders as we were moving in and clean up cobwebs. It’s bad. Really bad. Staff can’t be trusted to do a good job. They spend all their time in their phones when they should be paying attention.My mom fell one night and was left black and blue from knees to ankles. It wasn’t in an incident report… so if we hadn’t seen it with our own eyes the facility never would have said a word. WHAT A DISGRACE.I don’t know who cooks the food there but it’s inedible. You couldn’t even cut the chicken being served. The staff won’t bring anything else if the resident can’t eat what they are serving, they just take it away. Take it or leave it. Many nights my mom went hungry. The “always available “ menu that they SAY they always offer? Forget about it. I asked for something from that menu and I was told there was no one there to fix it. SAD.The facility entrance is worn and doors need replacing everywhere. The management staff leaves a lot to be desired. They barely speak to the residents. I will say that Dawn at the front desk is a sweet person, but no one else left a positive impression. This is not a place for any elderly person.
Deana Warner: I have been the Life Enrichment Director for one year now and love it. The staff here continue to be very helpful and assist any way they can with all the activities. The campus is beautiful and welcoming. Management has been great and are very supportive to all staff and our residents.

The buildings are very clean and nicely decorated, they have a fantastic Activities department and regular PT & OT staff on site so residents are able to feel comfortable and develop a rapport.

Tiiu: Landings of Genesee Valley is an assisted living facility that will give you total peace of mind that your loved one is well taken care of, happy and safe. All initial apprehensions are immediately taken care of with patience and understanding. All questions are answered, all concerns are dealt with.The staff is friendly, cheerful and caring. Management, nursing and all departments are easily accessible. The rooms are bright and cheerful, the food is excellent. Nursing is on call 24 hours a day. Doctors are available as needed, as are podiatrists.The transition from home living to an assisted care facility is stressful and worrisome. Landings has made this transition worry free. My loved one is comfortable and happy and I am relieved and grateful.

We have found the environment very comfortable, clean and inviting at all times. They staff members at Sugarbush are very welcoming and knowledgeable to each individual resident's care needs.

K H: Of course I have a loved one in your care. My mother has been there for over 4 years. I've had continous issues with the manager. I have reached out to the owners numerous times to no avail.In response to the review that the home has been renovated, that is true and my mother loves her room. The issue remains with the diet provided. If you want your loved ones to eat frozen pizza, chicken nuggets and peanut butter sandwiches then it's a great place to pay over 3000$ a month. I've complained endlessly and even asked one of the owners if they would feed that to their mother. Unbelievable but mom has always been to ill to move. I'm sure her diet hasn't helped. The home looks nice now, however, there are still no activities, amenities or nutritional meals.This is NOT the home you want to put your loved one at. There are no amenities, activities or nutritional meals. I have reported them several times to LARA. Caregivers turnover is constant and all residents have moved out but 2 and 2 that are there temporarily.
Kimberly Young: My mother was at Hamilton Assisted Living (Caremore) in Flint, Michigan. The setting is “home like” which made my mother very comfortable. The environment is always very clean and inviting. The staff is very professional yet extremely caring for the residents and treat each other like a family. They did everything they could to personalize my mother’s care and treated her with dignity and respect. She had multiple issues plus dementia and the staff communicated with family, which made my mother more comfortable in her last days. The staff works well with other agencies and they have a doctor and many other personalized services to enhance your loved ones stay. I would recommend Hamilton to anyone who really cares for their loved one and only wants the best care possible.
