Gail Pro: It was our first time there. They had a 2 man band and they were terrific!The food is the best especially the Tail pipes (mozzarella sticks), and the French Onion soup (it had steak in it) also the Quesadilla had so much meat and cheese I've never had one so good and filling. The wait staff was attentive.I will go again next time I am in Michigan.It's a must go to, if you are in town.

Alexandra Victoria: The best chicken and waffles I have ever had, and I've had it in many states. Had to go back while visiting Grand Rapids and their fish tacos were also life changing. Everything was fresh and made in house, with an awesome take on mango salsa. Will definitely have to come back next trip out ❤️

Jake Buccieri: I would have went 3.5 stars if given the option. The Olive Burger was coined as a favorite item, and it surely disappointed. The “olive” was just Mayonnaise with a few chopped olives. Hardly any olive flavor at all. We ordered them medium, and they were cooked completely well done. The side salad was just leaf lettuce and about 3 croutons. On a positive note, the Bloody Mary was terrific.
Brennan Aldrich: The Chicken Strips are the bomb especially for a place that you only really go for drinks. Great atmosphere and it's a Michigan alumni bar. Go Blue! Never had a bad experience here.

Michael Belligan: Down to earth local bar vibe, great food (fried chicken sandwich & fish tacos) but during my first visit (tonight) service was a bit slow. Maybe 10+ min to get a drink on several occasions despite it only being 20% full seating. Maybe someone called in sick? I dunno but the food was good enough to come back and find out! Also it’s loud! Didn’t bother me a bit but if you want a quiet speakeasy or are hard of hearing this isn’t your place - at least from 6-9pm when I visited.
joebreeet: Tucked back on the outskirts of downtown and even while dealing with construction in front of the restaurant they have not slowed down at all. The regulars know to keep coming in and it's no surprise. The food and drinks are exceptional. Lots of made to order from scratch and hand battered menu items. Spedrock W: First time here with friends from out of town. Husband and friend got the garage burger. I ordered build your own burger. All three burgers were seasoned to perfection and delicious. Definitely the perfect classic bar burger! My friend and I had the hand cut fries that came with the burgers. My husband ordered a side salad with his burger. The salad had a variety of veggies and fresh crisp Lettuce. The Garage has a very nice selection of beers and spirits as well as Pepsi products and lemon aide. Something for everyone. The staff and overall atmosphere were great! A fun place to spend time with friends and family while enjoying great food and drinks. Will definitely be back.

Tianna L: Steel Cat is a great place to go grab a drink. I suggest sitting up at the bar if you like a little entertainment to go along with your beverage. They have toy construction equipment that you can play with on their frost rail that was very entertaining. The bar tenders are also very nice and attentive.
Dahman Flahr: Came in before work for a delicious bloody Mary. Prompt, efficient, friendly service. Got off work early and came back for a post shift drink. Different bartender but still same level of service. Beer tap selection might be a bit light but they have a nicely rounded out full bar so plenty of quality options.They also have an Ice shelf? Built into the bar that your drinks can sit on while you're drinking. I decided I love it and no one can take that away from me. It's fun.It can get loud in here as it's a small place so I probably won't come on weekends but weekdays are perfect for me.They specialize in bloody Mary's with several options. They also have a bloody Mary bar which I will have to come back for at some point.

Marianne Guthrie: Not my favorite place to go. The crowd is very specific here, and it's a small place. Have been lucky enough to snag a table the times I've been here, but it's usually quite busy. The beer choices aren't that great, but they have plenty of liquor. The bartenders that I've dealt with here are nice.

More than a week has passed with our email and no response.Arrived at noon, weren’t done until 2pm… because of the service. :-( very slow, waitress wasn’t attentive to what we ordered (received wrong sides), side of ranch took 10 minutes to get and they brought out cheese instead, portions were quite small for the price we paid. Unsure what is happening here, but service needs attention. Be ready to wait, and wait so more for your food.Can’t give it one star, though. The food, when it did arrive, was tasty and the outdoor patio is a fun attraction. Unsure if we will be back.

The female bartender in outside bar was incredibly rude and age discriminating- I am 58. We will never go back. We didn’t know that you can’t order a drink from the bar, you have to go to a specific place at the bar. A patron got all upset because we went to an open stool to order. When we questioned why and we never heard of this, he called security. Security allowed the patron to feel they did the right thing. The bartender yelled at me when was telling her some bars have reservations to sit at the bar, I thought maybe that was the case here. We felt embarrassed and uncomfortable for really no reason. Crazy experience SO BEWARE.

Kymmie Loveless: The pizza I got was really good, we were on the restaurant side of the building. Our waitress we did not really see she got our order then someone else brought out the food. Then saw her again when we asked another waitress for a pitched. Then she bought that had to ask another person after that cause it was wrong.They have screens at the booths and there was candy behind the plastic that another patron must have stuck though the hole. Probably will still try again and go on the boat next time.
Jeannie Lee: We had a party of 7 adults and 3 kids and they were able to give us a table large enough for us all to sit together. The kids enjoyed playing the games. Our waitress was very good, tentive, and despite it being loud in there (as it is part bar, part restraunt) she got all our orders correctly and our wait was not long for our food. Everyone liked the meals they ordered. Our bill was around $200 for 10 meals 6 alcoholic drinks and 7 non alcoholic drinks which was a very fair price. Definitely would recommend whether your looking for a family place to eat or a bar for a few drinks.

Dan Holmes: Solid, but unspectacular. This is a nice neighborhood bar if you're going to be a regular. It's definitely a dingy, dark, let's get loud type of bar.The food is about a 3 out of 5. The kitchen can be slow.Like a lot of dive neighborhood bars, the drinks are much too strong. More alcohol does not equal a good drink. Just make the drink the way it's supposed to be made.
Melaura Rice: Surprisingly great breakfast spot, the fresh bread and omelettes are to die for. Fantastic bloody Marys and cocktails as well! Chill spot to watch premier league soccer games and enjoy a drink. Shoutout to Lauren who was an awesome server as well :)

Michael Belligan: I had dinner (new menu just started!) and attended the “Science on Tap” event that they hold fairly regularly. The menu looked great and I LOVED my tofu bahn mi sandwich (vegan, but you can get it with pork). Don’t sleep on requesting a side of the homemade french onion dip for the chips that come with all handhelds! Add a few Prague Underground pilsners from City Built Brewing Co just down the street and it was a killer dinner! I’ll definitely be back! 🙌🏼

Joel Montgomery: I never leave reviews, but this was ridiculous.Waited over an hour for the food, granddaughters mac and cheese was cold, the grilled cheese with bacon had no bacon, and the world famous olive burger had NO OLIVES. Would not have complained if the waitress would've let us know up front or through out the hour that they only had one cook. Not going back, would not recommend.
s mulvaine: Great cocktails relaxed atmosphere for a place in GR. I've been many times and have never been disappointed. The service is great and even the simplest menu items like tomato soup and grilled cheese are so well prepared you will remember it. The menu changes but it is always versatile and inclusive with a few unique vegan options. I get something different every time and recommend this place to anyone that will listen.

The food can be a bit slow, so if you go during your lunch hour I’d recommend putting your order in quickly. The pit boss wrap is so good.Update: Unfortunately this place has done a major menu change, and not for the best. We’ve tried out the new menu twice now and were disappointed both times. Most recently we tried the sticky chicken sandwich… it was honestly the worst chicken sandwich we’ve ever had. Just downright gross. They’ve also scaled down the portions. Wont be back to this one.

Austin Golden: If I could leave no stars I would. This establishment was dirty and service was as rude and as poor as it could get. Tables were dirty, service was slow, and when I order a beer the glass came out with pink lipstick along the top of it. When mentioned to the waitress she rolled her eyes and walked away like I did something wrong. I wouldn’t suggest this to someone that is an “out-of-towner.” Also an acquaintance of mine was playing pull tabs and won $150 dollars and the establishment said “they did not have enough to pay me out” whilst our bill was almost the same price. Waitress also couldn’t smile or have any kind of happy and genuine emotions at all, just rudeness purely. She also bad mouthed the bartender when we asked about the pull tab and said he was a “d*ck.” We came for our Mother’s Day visit and was just an awful experience.

Gianna Outlaw: I ended up here last night after the line for the BOB was ridiculous as usual and I was so happily surprised!!! The DJ was amazing, ive never been to GR bar that completely understand what music the crowd wants to hear. Unlike the BOB, no one was standing around waiting for a decent non-overplayed song, everyone was dancing the entire time and the energy was unmatched by any bar in GR. My friends and I had so so so much fun, every single song was a hit and they were mixed seamlessly. I am OBSESSED, 10/10 definitely recommend. Give that DJ a raise!!

Jon: This place is an absolute blast! Highly recommend anyone visiting the area, check this place out. The staff are laid back and friendly, the musicians are very talented and really know how to work the crowd, everyone was having a blast. We spent like 5 hours there hanging out, left for another bar next door and had one drink and went back haha there's a night club upstairs, but unless you're under 25 years old, you should probably just stay downstairs and give the piano man $20 to play some piano man.

Bryce Dymond: I entered The Meanwhile on a cold and crisp November night and quickly found the warmth of a Ramones albumin. With graffiti bathrooms, red and black colours and enough leather jackets to cover the walls, the Meanwhile fit it's description to perfection. The beer list was large and quality and the staff were kind. I recommend The Meanwhile to any angsty college student in Western Michigan.

Eric Walters: Really really disappointed. Perhaps the worst Rueben sandwich I’ve ever had. CUBED not shaved corned beef. No sauerkraut, none to very little dressing and maybe cheddar cheese on it! WTH? We ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer and they came out with our meals. Oh and was told when given, we’re out of the cheese dip. WTH? Fish and chips were ok as well as the French fries. My draft beer was refilled in the same old glass not a new cold glass… Totally bummed out.

Sat for a long long time waiting for a second beer, even longer for the third, which I have come to realize will never materialize. I was finally asked about 20 minutes later. I know running a bar isn't easy, but I went here because it looked dead and assumed service would be better.
John Bozich: We were in town visiting a customer and we stopped for a couple drinks before heading to the airport. Doors were locked and we started walking away. The door popped open and we were greeted by such a welcoming gentleman. We're not open quite yet, but come on in. We had our drinks and the staff was awesome! We will go back again when we are in town!

Alexzia Fisher: While it was my first time in, you can tell by the regulars and the atmosphere that it is always a fun and genuine experience! The staff was so kind and quick to accommodate. The food is yummy and the nachos are HUGE.
