I also wanted to say that I was impressed with the billing person, because they were super detailed about what my insurance was supposed to cover and made sure what I was being charged made sense. More informative with X-rays and imaging than I remember my previous dentist being, which was great. She looked up my insurance and gave me a $ amount for fluoride treatment before offering it. Hunter Humphreys: Good insurance to them means $$$. They'll try to ring you dry, fake cavities, expensive, unnecessary packages that they expect you to make payments on, ($10,000+) after just asking for a cleaning. Be weary if you decide to do business there, which I would not ever again.

Madie Hillen: This was an amazing dentist office! I recently decided to come here after a previous dentist told me I needed a crown and a lot of fillings(I've never needed major dental work). Going with my gut I came here at the recommendation of my boss. I can't recommend them enough! Not only do I NOT need a crown but the dentist was phenomenal! They pretend to not know if the extras are covered by insurance and then when you check out there's an extra $50 for this and 120 for that and then they're less than honest about your deductible and copays. Deception runs through this place like a virus.

Sue Potter: So incredibly disappointed in this business, they did an implant for me several years ago. I left the practice when they begin charging an extra $20 per person per visit for protective gear during COVID. I recently had some work done at the Center for Oral Surgery and they informed me that the implant was not done correctly and was not fully seated. They recommended that I go back to the office that did it as these are usually warrantied. Great Lakes Dental refused to help because I was not a current patient and therefore their poor work was no longer their issue.

TG V: They have always done a great job. I’ve been going to Beckwith Family Dental since I was in college nearly 30 years ago. They’re not in my insurance network, but I’ve always stuck with them anyway.I had a moment when I needed a tooth pulled right at the beginning of the Covid shutdown. I was in a lot of pain. It would normally of required me to see a root canal specialist. Dr. Grode was there all by himself because of the shutdown. He knew it would be next to impossible to get into to see anyone with the way everything was shutting down. It was about 4/4:30pm on a Friday. He saw that I was in a lot of pain as I was leaving. He called me back into his office saying he “couldn’t let me leave there in good conscience seeing that I was in so much pain.”Dr. Grode put a bit of extra effort into checking around the root of the tooth to see what he could do then. He was able to see a fine crack at the bottom of the root making the root canal pointless. We agreed it was best to pull the tooth. He pulled it right then and there. It instantly felt better. Dr Grode’s effort saved me a ton of crippling pain, time, hassle, and money. I was very happy with the result.

I discovered them through a Google search of highly rated dentists near me and I just want to add to the highly-rated part to help the next person doing a Google search. Everyone at this office seems to go above and beyond in kindness and taking care of their patients. As a new patient, I had several X-rays and photos taken of my teeth. Dr. Grode and Sarah Kate went through these with me, explained what we were seeing and generally gave me a good understanding of my dental hygiene and how I can improve my dental health. Finally the two hygienists I worked with (whose names I don’t remember, SORRY!) were wonderful. The first one surprised me by putting chapstick on my lips before having me open wide for a gum test - such a nice touch. The second hygienist was very gentle and thorough when giving my teeth their first dental cleaning in three years (I moved and then…pandemic). I feel like I have new teeth!! I’m so glad I followed reviews to this place. If you’re on the hunt, I recommend giving Beckwith Family Dental a try. Nick Landry: They always took good care of me, but neglected to tell me that my insurance went from in-network to out-of-network when they switched dentists. I went a year wondering why I was getting charged much more than usual. There are other dentists in town that are more honest.

Jared Scripture: I've only had one visit at this office, but my first impressions are nothing but positive. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Baldwin explained everything really clearly and didn't rush through my exam at all. She explained what she was looking for and what she was doing and just seemed very thorough in her examination overall. The Change: I made an apointment as a new customer . i WAS TOLD A 9 AM appointment time and wrote this time down 3 different places. I was called morning of my first appointment and was told it wasnt the time given and then Mary literally laughed at me on the call. Rude and discourteous and so you aware i never even was able to be seen. I will be sharing this experience with others as this is the rudest i have ever been treated by any medical facility. Riley Maksymiu: When I moved to GR I found this office and decided to go with it after reading how many good reviews were left. I had initially stopped treatment at this office for the fact that I was billed by the office for an X-ray that was already billed and covered by my insurance company as my free annual X-ray. I felt like this may have been intentional to possibly obtain more money, although it could’ve been a mistake - but I am still unsure to this day. Either way I was encouraged by family in the dental field to look for treatment elsewhere.Furthermore, I was told by the doctor at WestSide that I had 4 or 5 cavities and would need fillings in all of them. I was shocked by this news and wanted them to be taken care of immediately but because of the billing situation I had already discontinued treatment with this office. Eventually I found a new dentist office that had been personally recommended to me by several people I know and trust. During my very first appointment at the new office I was asked what my concerns are and I brought up the several cavities that were found by WestSide dental. After the dentist thoroughly inspected all of my teeth, as well as the X-ray, she concluded that I actually have 0 cavities and not one sign of decay in any of my teeth. Im extremely confused on how this happened but still so so so grateful that I did not go through with the fillings on my teeth that were perfectly fine.Lastly, I’m disappointed to say that the reviews I was reading online were likely prompted by a free Starbucks gift card. I’m not sure if this is something they still do, but I was offered a free Starbucks gift card in exchange for a good review on google. I’m not insinuating that all of the good reviews were bribed because I honestly found the staff and doctors very kind and personable for the few times I did go in for appointments. I just did not have a good clinical experience with this office. I definitely don’t want to generalize the entire practice as bad, nor am I an avid negative review leaver but I found my situation important enough to voice in a review. Had I gone through with the filings, that could’ve caused an array of issues for me and my dental health long term.

Instead, Linda provided excellent education and made me feel at ease. She noticed signs of jaw clenching and pointed them out to me and the doctor. I feel this was extraordinary because I am not experiencing any TMJ or jaw related pain - but now, thanks to Linda's attention to detail, I can take steps to prevent pain and stop further damage due to clenching my jaw. Dr. Jerry Mulder explained the next steps for repairs on my teeth in easy to understand terms.
