Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton: what do users think?
Lisa Banks: Amway Grand is a great hotel. The bed and pillows was SUPER comfortable. I wanted to stay in bed. Bar and restaurants were awesome. Great customer service at the front desk.Rooms: Super comfortableFood & drinks: Excellent
Michael Liao: Very good hotel, I like the environment, I am Amway IBO from Taiwan, one of the famous products from Amway is the water filter, if possible to provide the free good quality drinking water in the hotel room, it could provide better experience in hotel staying.
spain tax: Great place for a vacation

Xavier Chappell: I love this place. Very very nice and luxurious. Although the pool was closed we still had a great time.
James Betts: always the best
Christopher Dean: Two stars lost to the front desk check in experience. I have stayed here over the years maybe a dozen times. The issue at the desk was an anomaly to the usual experience that I have. Staff member not knowledgeable in policy, who then printed the policy and did not read it completely. She insisted on the wrong information until I pointed out the correct information on the page she printed out.The rest of my visit was perfect as normal.
Joe Cuschieri: If one is looking for a grand entrance, but does not care much about the size of the guest rooms, then this is the perfect hotel. However, the rooms. Especially the bathrooms are tiny. Hardly any space to turn and the toilet paper is placed underneath the sink because the sink and toilet are right next to each other.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great view …More

Crabby J: Alot of money for ripped towels and a dirty bathroom floor.Room was pretty small for the price, although discounted.I can't believe they'd want what the regular price is for the room. The concierge was nice, front desk pleasant. Waitstaff for reception could have been friendlier.Hotel was beautiful. You pay a huge price for a room, then you have to pay for parking?Ridiculous!I wouldn't stay there again.
Newman Family Dental: We were in Grand Rapids for the annual Michigan Dental Association event, gaining more knowledge of the latest in dental technologies. We LOVED the Amway Grand accommodations! Gayle Weiss: Most of the issues raised in the other bad reviews are still not fixed and to add insult to injury, I just went down to buy 2 'Starbucks' coffees and came back to the room with definitely NOT Starbucks. Thankfully, I had forgotten to bring my wallet and the young man was kind enough to let me go with a promise to return in an hour to pay. First sip in... nope, not paying!! Dishonest photos, no breakfast included and now a blatant, bald faced lie about the coffee...geesh! Don't stay here!
Annika Ehrig Rosario: It’s fine, not as bad as some people are saying but not worth the price
Nancy Spencer: Enjoyed the pool and hot tub! No, continental breakfast. Breakfast and coffee are available for $.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More

Jennifer “Beautiful Disaster” McKenna: Rude, impolite and refused to refund my nieces money for a 5 day stay from California.

Willie Jarrett: New hotel, friendly employees, clean foyer, and fast check in!!Rooms: Clean, new, up to date, big, and spacious is only way to describe it!Nearby activities: Close to downtown, parks near, bars, and restaurants!Safety: Security, but great area, and upscale business people frequently stay here!Walkability: Very nice restaurants, bars, concerts, shopping, and parks all in walking distance!Food & drinks: Great, and open menu for all!Noteworthy details: You will not be dissatisfied, or disappointed if you pick to stay here!
Don Keegan: Stayed here as we had before and had a decent experience then, but this time the hot tub was broken, and they really didn’t care. The bar was closed. Water was leaking from the roof into the pool and other areas it wasn’t supposed to. It was just BAD!! Time to bulldoze and start over! They’ve let this place lapse.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
gabs renee: My room had no hot water and had someone else’s hair in the tub and all over bathroom floor. They refused to refund even tho I was checking out. I’ll never ever stay there againRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Chrystal Holdren: The hallways really smelled. They actually smell of smoke really bad when you’re not supposed to smoke there so either people are still smoking in the rooms or it was so bad it just embedded in the walls and everything for many many years ago! I really didn’t go in the bathroom much because the shower had a lot of hair in it which i finally took down with toilet paper but it grossed me out! The walls were dingy, and the counters look like they hadn’t been cleaned! In the bedrom, the walls were dingy in the tops of the dressers look like they hadn’t been cleaned off! I told the guy downstairs at the desk, but he seemed to kind of just shrug it off and say sorry! Normally I’m one to go further with it at that point, but I’m going through a divorce and there’s been so much arguing lately. This was supposed to be a time for me to get away from that so I just went back upstairs and fell asleep! I also got what I thought was a Riverview room not worth the extra $15/$20 to be honest! Now the location is great it’s easy to find right off the highway so I will say they got that going for them!
brian tenbrink: Great Indian restaurant. Very nice and clean. Staff was helpful.
Emma Loughead: Never even had the chance to book our group reservations. I’ve tried for 2 weeks straight leaving voicemails, emails, and messages with the front desk to get a quote and still no response. I spoke with the manager last week and he said it’s probably because I never filled out the group reservation form and that’s why she never got back to me because she didn’t know what I was looking for. So he sends the link for that and still no response. I will not waste my time trying to book her ever again.
Jack Stahley: Visited a friend here and the rooms are great for value, but the elevator stopped working and had to walk up and down the stairs.
Emily Koski: Sandeep provides great customer service!Rooms: 1/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids-Airport 28th St: what do users think?
Tim Linnert: Do not stay at this hotel. They will lie, cheat, and steal your money if they can. I say this as a diamond member, who has never had a problem with the Hilton brand. I advise extreme caution booking this site.
Ron Neal: Noteworthy details: It is all negativeRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Mark Howie: They are in middle of remodeling- either it was not part of listing or I missed it. Hot tub out of order but room was very nice. Seems we were the first to stay in it. Shuttle is not running during remodel - not sure that makes sense.
Debbie M: Two time I stayed there 4 or more days. Both times I requested room service in middle of stay to no avail. The second time I caught the housekeeper and she was leaving, but did go in and make the bed, empty garbage, and give me towels. Both times I had to reuse washcloths because only two for the weekI don't mind reusing towels, but not for the whole week and don't like reusing washcloths. Most of the front desk staff was pleasant. And housekeeper I mentioned above showed me I was never on the list, so it wasn't her fault.Remodeling hotel and I got email a few days before. Right above my room and noise was past 630 that was in the email.I will be on another business trip in April at a different hotel

Tee Tee T: Outstanding service. Eliana and Brenda thank you for the nice welcoming and friendly customer service. Breakfast was great and ready before 6am. You both were great and I appreciate the service and time of going over and beyond to customers like myself. Receiving good service can make stay overall go a long way! Thank you so much.
Alexandra Feliz: Nice welcoming hotel. 24 hr front desk and as helpful as can be. Breakfast could have more eggs/ meat but the biscuits and gravy was good. There was also oatmeal, cereal, waffles , fruit. We good a suite and were very pleased with the space and bedsRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Kimberly Leibfarth: Sarah, at the front desk, was most helpful & kind. My room was beautiful & exceptionally clean! Only sad part was hot tub was not in service, but the pool was perfect temperature. I looked in exercise room, it had bike, weights, treadmill & a yoga ball... It is quiet & peaceful in all areas. Thank you Hampton Inn your staff has been wonderful!Rooms: Large clean. Firm bed, squishy pillows
Ann Marie: We stayed here a couple of times for multiple days each time. What the hotel lacks in character and cleanliness is made up for by the outstanding front desk staff. It's overdue for a remodel, our room was missing quite a few of the basic toiletries that I had to request . During the first visit, they ran out of toilet paper and none was to be found. Upon our return visit, that was rectified, but they had no bar soap. I had to request towels on the second visit, our check-in was late and Imani was doing front desk duty and laundry as well. She brought towels to our room and hung them on the door while we were sleeping. Crissi, Imani and Sara all provided exceptional service while we were there. They need to be recognized for the hard work they do and the customer service they provide.
Kevin Pachis: A little bit out of the way and hidden but a great stayRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Victoria Ricumstrict: Our room was filthy. The sofa bed had all sorts of trash folded inside of it. The floor had not been vacuumed. There weren't any sheets for the sofa bed and there wasn't any soap for the bathroom. Just horrible house keeping.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Peretz Barkan: מלון נחמד קרוב מאוד לשדה התעופה, חדרים גדולים ומרווחים. מסעדות לרוב בקרבת המלון
Jason Gillam: My recent stay was not a good experience. After telling the front desk I had an early flight, I found out at 10pm that my room was adjacent to a large group of juveniles (sports team?) who literally ran up and down the hallway and open and closed doors for a couple of hours. I managed to get down to the lobby for my 4:30am shuttle only to find the driver wasn't there. 15 minutes later (still no driver) I called a rideshare to catch my flight. The front desk was doing everything possible, so no blame there but I won't be counting on their airport shuttle in the future.

Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown: what do users think?
Anish Mandala: Location is good. Currently staying here just stay away from the property plenty over other hotels out there. Too much noise outside the hotel especially on the weekend even ten floors up you can hear it as if you are right next to them. Literally impossible to get good sleep.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
B R: Nice hotel with a friendly front desk staff. They offer a free hot breakfast. Rooms were comfortable and clean... and mine offered a great view. They only reason I didn't give them a 5 star review is the program the room thermostat, which limits your control. I like to have the fan run constantly to create a white noise effect and prevent hearing street, hall, and other guests.
Zachary Kool: I stayed here once for 1 night while traveling to northern michigan. The rooms were modern, and it was next to the Homewood Suites.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Hulk Tube: Don’t go here!!! This hotel sucked. They gave us a room where neither the tv or air conditioner worked. Didn’t give us a bag for ice. We had to move rooms. Then when I asked for a late check out at 1pm, their stupid house keeping people knocked early over and over every 30 min, didn’t even let us sleep. Hospitality also was not good. They didn’t even apologize, then when we leave they overcharge me more than what the bill actually was.
Shelly Lomax: We stayed here for a wedding and it was perfect! Very clean, modern, and wonderful employees. Nice bar with good cocktails and excellent free breakfast. Great value!
Tina Lupiezowiec: We loved our stay at the Downtown Hyatt for many reasons, but what REALLY made our trip was the astounding customer service provided by the wonderfully friendly, eager to be of assistance, upbeat, jovial, and truly sincere, Elaine Hampton, the woman who checked us in, helped us navigate our way to parking with a level of enthusiasm that shows her devotion to customer service and who double fried our chicken wings to crispy perfection because she cared. What an asset to their customer service team and what a refreshing delight to receive customer service from an actual human being. Although institutions are big on the customer experience, these days there is so much uniformity, predictability and formulaic banter that, unfortunately, those experiences end up feeling insincere. YOU CAN'T FAKE CARING. Elaine is a value-added Hyatt staff member because she actually cares and is allowed the wiggle room to show her caring authentically. Hyatt downtown, you've got a real gem in Elaine.Nearby activities: The Grand Rapids Zoo is worth the trip.Safety: We felt safe wandering about.Walkability: Everywhere you want to go is within walking distance.Food & drinks: Loved the local GRNoir.Noteworthy details: The local architecture is stunning.
Maddie Archer: Fantastic stay at the Hyatt downtown GR! Beautiful hotel in a great location, the only weird thing was finding the front desk to check in, but it didn’t cause too much delay as it’s just on the 2nd floor! Very clean rooms.
Elisa: We attended an event at DeVos place and the hotel was within walking distance. Perfect location, beautiful views from the 9th floor, quite, we did not hear any of the other guests. The front desk was very kind. We visited the Placery bar in the evening and ordered Blue Hawaii and Peach Sour, very good! Late night eats we had the chicken sandwich and fries, again very good. The breakfast bar was just as lovely and they served wonderful coffee and tea options along with milk and juices. Overall everything was great and we will definitely be staying again! The young man with long red hair was awesome and very informative during the day and in the evening we had an older gal from Chicago she was great and really cared about taking care and connecting with the guests.
Jason Dadah: Walkability: Close to all the things.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Cassondra Gow: This place is an absolute joke. Check in process was ridiculous, and the blonde general manager that was working was INCREDIBLY RUDE. Their lobby is on the 2nd floor, and a man asked if it was the front desk and she replied "Oh wow did you follow the signs?" Sure you can park in their "public parking" garage, if you want to pay an extra $35. Never recommending a Hyatt (at least this joke of a hotel) to anyone.
Chris S.: Well located but a bit quirky; lobby on the 2nd floor.
Matt Renkema: Location is what it's about. Understaffed, seems to be a common theme downtown. Pay for parking with the hotel it is much cheaper than just paying at the lot gates, despite what the hotel staff told us...sigh...Nearby activities: Downtown is all a walk away
Brett P.: Terrible breakfast food and odd entry layout. However, staff was very friendly, great rooms, and decent gym.
Brandon Hetherton: Great room, great service, good location. Only downside is $32 for parking, but it is downtown GR 🤷Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

yayo mimo: What a great place to stay. Everything from the front desk people to the bartenders. Great location and great views. Super clean!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
daniel deutsch: Nice hotel but impersonal. Something just didn't gel quite right during my stay. The bar has a very limited drinks list which was odd. The bar kitchen had a limited menu which is ok but I think it was stuff you popped in a microwave, ok but also not ok. Staff weren't clear on restaurants in the area. No lotion as part of the toiletries package. Something else was missing but undefinable. I checked out early (my choice unrelated to hotel) and reception assured me that Expedia would refund me a night. I had to laugh. Was it ignorance? Placating me? I don't know. Overall not a bad stay but I wouldn't repeat.
Molly Reid: A great place to stay! Staff was great, clean surroundings and room!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Kris LaPointe: Maggie is the main reason our stay was a nice as it could be considering our circumstances. We had previously stayed at the Hampton Inn and were treated so very unprofessionally for all that they did wrong Maggie made everything that much better for us. She was kind compassionate and caring, just what we needed as our loved one is in the ICU at Butterworth Hospital. This establishment is very luck to have her as a member of their team

Karl Peterman: Stayed here for a few nights while attending a conference at the DeVos Center which is just a very short walk away. The hotel seems recently renovated and is kept clean and tidy. My room was abundantly furnished - I think is the most pieces of furniture I’ve seen - and they were very functional. I think the TV was 55” and could rotate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and exercise room were both in good shape. The restaurant had great food as well. I accepted an offer for breakfast every morning for $5/morning. It was definitely worth it. Great hotel and I’d stay there again.
Timothy Civis: Rooms: Clean and well kept.Walkability: Good location for site seeing

SirSnipe: It is difficult to find a nice place to enjoy the atmosphere. All of the protected outdoor areas are designated for the restaurant, and very little space was given to hotel guests.Rooms: Very nice small-efficient rooms. Large bathroom tub.
Jonathan Klinger: We always love staying at the JW Marriott in downtown GR. This most recent visit was a quick overnight but I want to give a special shout-out to TJ at the front desk. He went well above and beyond to help us leave a surprise welcome gift in a friends room upon check-in two days after we departed. He could have easily declined but instead helped me come up with a fun and creative way to leave this surprise. Homewood Suites by Hilton Grand Rapids Downtown: what do users think?
Carole Mueller-Brumbaugh: Front Desk people could have been friendlier than just business. Housekeeping staff was very helpful and friendly on the 6th floor for your Room #624. We will be back again when in Downtown Grand Rapids.Walkability: Great to walk to Grand River Presidential Park and onto Varnum Law offices where we had business to handle. Loved the park and walk experience!
Anna Heisey: Excellent place to stay. We had a two room suite for our family and it was perfect! We loved every minute of our stayRooms: Spacious and clean
K W: The rooms were very spacious and the staff was wonderful and so friendly any time we had a question. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay again. Perfect location to anything downtown. Parking was $33/night and you get in and out access with the hotel. The parking lot was attached to the hotel and we had no trouble getting a spot. Great experience.
Zachary Kool: We always went there for 1 night while traveling to northwestern Michigan. The breakfast and the rooms were awesome!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Karl Ray: Way better than I expected! First, Dave at the front desk had us cutting up and laughing immediately. The Waters Building dates to 1899 so there are a few quirks. Parking and unloading are not intuitive. Dave explained the options clearly so we nailed it the first time.Having done some renovation, I loved our room! They kept the original brick but added a slight bench at the base to hide the new electric and plumbing - very well thought out and executed. We came to the "big downtown" for a grandson's wedding. We planned to grab a bite then crash for the night and go to the wedding the next day, but we discovered that the symphony was playing. The restaurant we were going to go to was slammed. Rather than waiting, we went to another that turned out to be great! We grabbed a bite and went to the concert.Just a great experience, way more than expected.#gratitude #blessed
Steve Beene: Nice hotel that is in a good location. Service good. Room great. Breakfast was subpar.
Kathrine Goeke: Extremely dissatisfied with the inhumanity of the service of this hotel. If I was able to rank negative stars I would. Future guests be aware that this hotel will cancel your reservation without notice. This happened to our family this evening for a reservation we made two months ago and just by chance happened to call the hotel to check on the reservation only to find out that our reservation had been cancelled and the hotel was now completely sold out. Not only were we not notified of this cancellation, but when we called the booking agency to find out what was going on, they also didn't have any record of the reservation being cancelled.Upon inquiring on how this could have happened the hotel's representative at the front desk impolitely informed us that this is the hotel's policy and it's the risk you take when booking through a third party to save some money. I'm completely flabbergasted by the lack of customer service. Apparently this hotel would rather kick someone to the curb to make a few extra dollars a night. Shame on you!
Derek Lawrence: Markus and David are awesome. They made us feel at home and I can't say enough good stuff about them. These dudes do not make enough money. Please pay these guys more. You will be hurting if they leave your company.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Marj Haber: During my stay in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Homewood Suites Downtown lived up to its name. It was a wonderful “home away from home!”The suite was well-furnished and very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. What really stood out for me was the staff. They were warm and friendly and very accommodating – especially Alex, Stephanie, and Noah! This will most definitely be my hotel of choice next time I visit Grand Rapids!

Courtyard by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown: what do users think?
Gustavo Lopez: I have stayed here a couple of times in the last year recently this entire week. The hotel is great. Honestly staff is always friendly always helpful and super courteous hotel rooms are good and clean. Above all the bistro staff are amazing. Stop by every morning for coffee sometimes breakfast and there’s not a single person there. That doesn’t do an amazing job. I consider this my go to hotel anytime I come to Grand Rapids.
nickk05281982: Nice place but wow the nightly rates are nuts
Tam F: Service and staff were great! The rooms had an odor that was noticeable. I thought it was just the room I was in, but the staff put me in a different room on a different floor and it smelled the same.Walkability: Connected to Skywalk and within walking distance of many restaurants and popular venues.
Edwin Rushton: The Courtyard Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids is a nice hotel with convenient access to the stadium and the heart of Down town Grand Rapids. If you stay on the river side of the hotel you get a nice view of the river. The internet always takes me 3-5 minutes to connect to, but once connected seems to work well for my needs.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet …More

jeffrey Szyarto: Amazing hotel! The staff is beyond friendly and the rooms were amazingly clean. This location was very centrally located for our visit which was wonderful. It is within walking distance to many popular attractions in Grand Rapids and was right around the corner from our concert venue (The intersection.) I would gladly stay here anytime I visit Grand Rapids. The parking was a bit weird to find and then get into the hotel but that was manageable and I think if we would have thought about our location it would have been easier to find parking. They have an amazing breakfast sandwich which was a great way to start our day.Rooms: They were spacious and amazingly clean. I loved the furniture in the room and everything was very well kept.Nearby activities: It is close to many popular attractions in Grand Rapids. It is within walking distance to Founders and the Intersection. If you are looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat before a concert they are just a block away.Safety: This hotel felt very safe and well lit.
Debra Tanzer: Rooms: Very clean rooms - comfortable.Safety: Very safe hotel.Food & drinks: The upstairs bar is very nice. Wish it would have stayed open longer since we just came from a wedding across the street.
Melissa Graham: Booked a room for my brothers wedding, they were very hard to work with and even though we were told they’d accommodate and work with blocking off rooms, it was not an easy process. Disappointed in the way we were treated.Rooms: Nice rooms.
Kari T: Staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were immaculately clean with amenities I don't see at other hotels. Great night of sleep: beds were so comfortable, and even though we were right by the elevator hallway, there was no noise disturbance. Walking distance to The Intersection, tons of food options, kids' museum, and many other places of interest. Walking from the parking structure to hotel was awkward due to construction, but the extra I paid for the Park & Stay rate more than paid for itself. Would like to see more vegan options in the cafe, but they do have non-dairy creamers. Would definitely stay here again.
Josh Sikkema: The Canopy downtown is my home away from home. Kyle and Angela always make me feel right at home. The staff goes above and beyond, THANK YOU!Noteworthy details: The staff are excellent and attentive. Beautiful views from the 8th floor and you are right in the heart of Studio Park. Amazing!
Greg Wade: The staff was super friendly!
Yvette Butler: The hotel was immaculate, comfortable and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The Oak+Stone Urban restaurant is a mustNearby activities: It’s located at the Mall of America
Miguel Carmona: PARKING is a Nightmare. CANOPY has a LIMITED amount of PARKING SPOTS @ STUDIO PARK. Research if the surrounding area has any major events going on. If they do, DO NOT DRIVE TO the STORE LIKE I DID & come back to the parking lot to find it FULL! called the front desk and they recommended a few other parking lots. Drove to them & they were FULL.. after driving around for 20 minutes in traffic.. a parking garage was found 7 blocks away. We brought the ticket to the front desk to see if they would cover the fee & they said there was nothing they could do. Haha I was not shocked! All in all.. just ridiculous for GUESTS to not be guaranteed a parking spot for their stay.. HOWEVER went up to the TOP BAR “KNOOP” . Completely out of everything to eat BUT they had ONE drink called “42 WALLABY WAY” SOLID CHOICE & thanks to the waitress who recommended it!
Celeste Maclin: We had a great experience at Canopy.Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was super cute and modern. We loved that we were on the same floor of the gym, which is pretty spacious, clean, has water and cups for guests, has a great view, and has a good amount of equipment. Newer stuff, too, like a peloton bike.We loved the rooftop bar as a way to end our night.Great location. Close to a lot of nice bars and restaurants. They have bikes that guests can use to ride around the city if you'd like. They have a really nice lounge breakfast spot downstairs near the entrance.Note, breakfast is not included.. you gotta pay.You also gotta pay for parking each night. All in all, we'd definitely come back!
Jaimee Harris: This is my third time staying at Canopy and every time is better than the first. This stay was particularly great. The staff was extremely welcoming and several staff members went above and beyond to assist me with some complicated (complicated on account of a unique situation -- in other words, it was not them, it was me) tasks. The location is fabulous -- right next to Midtown (fabulous music venue), and walking distance to a lot of great spots (Pyramid Scheme for pinball), vintage shops, and restaurants.
Marty Fortuna: Great location!Rooms: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Andreas Giger: Nice New Hotel at nice location. Within walking distance good Restaurants and sports Bar and even a cinema. There is a Skype Bar AT top floor available ad well.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Lauren Plate: The concierge was not helpful whatsoever. 2 stars for the maids being more helpful.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Tiffaney T: The hotel itself was VERY modern, chic & super clean. Staff at check-in were super friendly. The late night staff (after 10:30 pm) not so much. Felt like children being rushed to our rooms after coming back from a concert at the Van Andel, which is walking distance, so that was super convenient. For such a NICE hotel that it is, there were a few downfalls that I personally will most likely not stay there again. There was a huge amount of homeless people swarming the building and hounding everyone for money every single time you walked by. It was kinda scary, as they would walk so close to you. It was insane. Also, this hotel has NO parking for hotel guests. You have to park a few blocks away in a parking structure that is no way attached to the building, so u have to drag ur luggage thru a movie theater then outside down an alley where the homeless are waiting to hound you over and over until u make it in to the hotel. Once inside your golden. Also plan to bring something to eat with u after a show at the van andel, as NONE of the restaurants that are with walking distance to hotel are open after 10pm, and the hotel doesn't even have vending machines.
Don Donachy: Pros : Great looking place! I’m guessing newly remodeled.Cons: lacking creature comforts. Usually I would expect more than one creamer and just plain better coffee service. Usually I would expect a plastic laundry bag or 2. They have “filter water” taps in the hallways, while it may be filtered it still tastes like it came from the pool, oh that’s right no pool. And they didn’t have that $3 water for sale I’ve come to expect. Overall beautiful place but nothing else in the way of perks. in the $200-300/ night I need more. I do have to say Nayah the front desk person was super cool for giving us a heads text about parking and an early check in. This I don’t expect!

Baymont by Wyndham Grand Rapids Near Downtown: what do users think?
Joann Lyons: The staff was very nice when we needed something they went and got they even let me check in very late bc out car broke down but when we got to the elevator the floor inside is dirty when we exited the elevator it smelled like cigarettes smoke in walking to our room the carpet in the hallway is nasty it need steamed cleaned the it need a fresh paint when we got to our room I noticed white stuff on the side of the TV stand there satiny on the lamp shade the the was something sticky under the lamp shade in the bathroom the ceiling is bad I will not come back unfortunately yes the price was good and the staff is really nice other then that u can just tell that the owner of that place doesn't care about his business and is very sad and when I looked online it showed a bigger breakfast but there wasn't
Farid Luna: I chose this hotel because of the indoor pool, but after I paid they told me the pool was closed, so I was disappointed. Later on I asked for a bottle opener and they just said they had any, it's the first hotel where I stay and cannot provided it, or even tried to help. The hallways smelled like cigar and the elevator like weed, may not be the hotel fault, but I didn't enjoyed that part.I looked into all the ice machines and any of them was working. The lunch could be a lot better, or maybe just don't have it, would not recommend it.Location is good, but I wouldn't come back
Phoebe Uttermohlen: Booked this as a Baymont, two-night stay for a girls trip with my mom. Upon arrival, we thought we were at the wrong place, no signage on the building, but two road signs: one “Baymont” and one “Days Inn.” Drove around three times, checking the address to make sure this was the place. There were sketchy characters in the parking lot, and we almost went somewhere else, but decided to go in and check it out first. The lobby was encouraging, nicely decorated. This is where you find out that it is both a Baymont AND a Days Inn, so, kind of deceptive in my opinion. Past the lobby it’s pretty horrifying. The elevators smell bad, the hallways smell worse, and I’m not even sure what the smell in the entryway to our room was. There is a divide in the hallways where it literally turns into an Baymont from a Days Inn, with different carpeting and decor, but the smell remains. Our bed was fine, so we decided to stay because we would really only be there at night anyways. The bathroom and entryway were pretty foul, lots of stains, the door handle was loose, and the sink faucet kept falling off. Showering here included touching NOTHING except the shower water. Our back window opened up to a courtyard where the pool WOULD have been, however, it’s filled in with dirt and the courtyard is covered in garbage. Saw no cleaning staff in our two day visit. If you can overlook these things, the price is great! But everything else is pretty disgusting. Would not have stayed here alone for fears of safety.
Madalyn Lee: Stay away from this hotel. Extremely dirty and run down. Rooms smell of smoke and are NOT clean. I am surprised they are still able to use the Wyndham name as they are by far the worst Wyndham property I have stayed at. amber salenski: Location was good, service was decent, the hotel itself is disgusting.Rooms: The rooms are uncleanRooms: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Meghal Pandya: Avoid staying at this place if you can afford a better place. We chose this hotel due to proximity to an event venue. It is a bit confusing to find this location, as the hotel carries two franchises - Day's Inn and Baymont. Once you park in hotel and approach the entrance, you are greeted by smell of marijuana, which is a harbinger of your remaining experience of staying at this hotel. We were given a room on second floor. The corridor had all kind of odours, and gets worse when the rooms are being cleaned. The room was spacious and reasonably clean. However, even with two beds, we were given only one set of towels. When we requested for same, we were asked to come downstairs and pick it up, as the hotel was short staffed. The room had TV, fridge, microwave and other usual bells and whistles - nothing exceptional. The TV carried a few channels. The mattresses and pillows are reasonably comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast was cereals, bagel, boiled eggs , juice, muffins and coffee. I requested a bread for toast, but they did not have one. I asked for a lid for my coffee cup, but they did not have one. The fridge in the breakfast area only had milk and boiled eggs, with one of the egg already shelled. If staying at place, avoid the room overlooking the main street, as it gets quite noisy, with people arguing or talking loudly.Nothing in the hotel seem to be working. The pool was out of commisison, so were the restrooms on the ground floor. The hotel is severely short-staffed - we requested that they make our bed, but no one bothered to show up to tidy our room.To summarise, it is better to pay more and get a better experience than to say here.
Riley Candela: You can’t beat the low price! No issues, staff was very friendly and helpful, explained everything since it was my first time staying at Baymont Wyndham, very quiet at night, room was clean!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Scott Hedlund: This place is disgusting 😭 the staffing is not professional. Rude dirty and disrespectful they don't care about nothing 😞Noteworthy details: Disgusting
earl smith: the worst stay ive ever had air condition in room didnt work water pressure in the shower was very poor hallways smelled of cigarette smoke from people smoking in the rooms people out back smoking marajana right outside windows juat an overall lack of care from the workers ita more like an apartment building than a hotel dont recomend and will definatley not be coming back
Dinnal Forbes: Room need to be deodorize, dust and take down the spider webs out the roofHotel highlights Quiet …More
Amber Sabin: The hotel room smelled so bad, I’m not even sure what it was. They didn’t have a room available that I booked online so they upgraded us to the “king suite”. The couch had a pullout bed that was broken and halfway hanging out of it, with the pillows on the floor. There were stains on the bed and a diaper in the couch. They charge $150/night for the “King suite”, needless to say, we left that night to find another hotel room to stay in.
Kori Wickham: The front desk staff is lovely and helpful; however, here is your warning not to stay here. I thought all hotels had a decent standard of cleanliness, that is before I arrived at this hotel. Upon checking in, we went to our room. The walkways were unvacuumed and smelled of a funky odor. The white doors to the rooms might as well have been black with marks and grub. Upon entering the room, I checked for bedbugs, and none were found. However, after fiddling with the sheets, I noticed the comforter had no cover. Instead sandwiched between two flat sheets, which was already gross to me (thinking about other people's dead skin cells and how I know that hotels often don't wash their comforters after each check out). I pulled the flat sheets off the comforter to see more closely, and the comfort had yellow stains up and down it. Okay, I already knew I wanted to leave, but I continued to look around. I opened the fridge and microwave, and they were dirty... How am I going to store my food with these dirty bacteria? Dirt and hair in the corners of each fridge and microwave. The last straw was when I went to check out the bathroom. The tub had no drain plug, and pieces of the tub and wall have been removed. They were understanding and gracious when I wanted a refund. Their front desk staff is excellent. Alex and Shaquita helped me a lot. Good location to downtown, but now I know I need to research rooms better before booking. I don't know how other people stayed at this hotel. It is a vast hotel(they're running two hotels out of it) and lots of rooms to clean... I give them that, but overall I think that building needs to be demolished or renovated completely.
Hybrid Piper: The exterior was confusing and looked like an old run down hotel. I wasn't even sure I was walking into the right hotel. I smelled pot in the halls, I think it wafted up from outside a courtyard area. The room itself was fine. The bathroom was generally clean but the sink faucet handle kept falling off and the toilet seat moved all over the place. It had a very basic breakfast, I only ate cereal and drank coffee.Safety: Smelled pot in the hall. Heard screaming outside. Signs up on the doors to make sure they stayed shut.
Nicolle Campbell: Stay away! DO NOT STAY HERE! Pictures are fake. Booked not knowing or reading previous reviews for a 1 night stay to get rest before getting on road home. This is a run down dirty dump and Wyndham Group should not be letting this place operate. Beyond disgusting. Read the other reviews on Trip Advisor.Rooms: Elevators were gross, hallways smelled of mold, weed and cigs. Have not been vacuumed. Laundry I don't understand why in the hallways?? Door to room looked kicked in before. Opening door the smell of mold and cigarettes over takes you from the molded bathroom with ceiling falling down from mold and moisture. The room obviously had not been cleaned and the bedding could not tell if it was changed and obviously had not been vacuumed in awhile and the corners were not even a option for them to clean. Needs to be knocked down.DO NOT BOOK HERE

Lindsay Edstrom: Room wasnt bad once you were inside it. The front entrance does not look like the rest of the hotel. I got what i paid for to say. The lady up front was nice to me but was very busy talking to her significant other on the phone. She was not very helpful to the guy in front of me and was very defensive toward him. He just needed to be told she doesn't understand the points. Please call corporate. Her poor kids were still up at midnight.
heather Bell: Not a place I'd recommend for familiesRooms: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Justin Blackwood: This is undoubtedly one of the worst hotels I have EVER had the misfortune of staying in.First of all, it was very confusing because it is two hotels in one, complete with 2 signs out front. Please note that I paid for the more expensive of the 2 hotels. I knew I was in for a wild ride when I got to the front desk to check in, and the lady flat-out ignored me, didn't even acknowledge my presence for several minutes. When she finally acknowledged me, she was incredibly rude. The entire hotel was filthy and in a state of general disrepair. Many dinged and unpainted walls, trim ripped off, and I can not emphasize enough how dirty the place was. The room was even worse. The bathroom was falling apart, the fridge was unplugged and not cold, there was no remoted for the television, the ice bucket was filthy, and had a hole in the bottom. There was no chair in the room. The tub was particularly disgusting. There was mold on the wall, and the floor of it was nasty. The complimentary breakfast was pathetic. They had no hot food at all. Apples wrapped in plastic wrap, cereal, and stale donut holes. This was a terrible experience.Rooms: It was awfuly many things were broken and it was filthy.
