When designing the deck, Matt was knowledgeable and accommodated customization of the design. The team that built the deck was on time, friendly and skilled. Savannah, the team lead, was knowledgeable and experienced and communicated with me throughout the project. Dylan consistently applied the carpenter’s rule of measure twice but cut once and ensured the work met his exacting standards. Killian was the quieter but thoughtful member of the crew, always thinking of how the current task fit into the final project. Attention to details make the deck outstanding, floor boards were routered on the ends, picture frame casing, top rail routered and sanded, bracing is solid and unobtrusive and many other details that ensure continual three season use and enjoyment.

Once the project was approved by the city, they got to work the following week, and it was finished in one week. Joe Vitale: While I Appreciate the Continued Apologies from The Site Manager for the lack of communication, follow through and consistent issues created on the construction site around our home,I do not appreciate:Glaring Lights in our yard from the worksite after hours.Cutting Down Trees around our home that were committed to stay and shield the lot from the new 4 Story Buildings going into our historic neighborhood.Spreading dirt all over the areas that were marked to be undisturbed and creating water shed onto our property.Grass as high as my waist around our home on the other side of their construction fence.Blocking our driveway with delivery vehicles, piles of sand, trucks, etc.Closing off the street with no notice to owners.Its very convenient to blame it on the developer, but where is Rockford's responsibility as the construction firm? Is it because they are not a local outfit to Lansing? Do they feel the neighborhood surrounding has no importance/relevance to their project?If you are a developer who has any concern for the community surrounding your development, I would think very hard before hiring this firm.

Dave Sny: Absolutely the worst. The never keep their word, and don't warranty anything. My parking lot is falling apart, the septic was installed wrong. Can't even get them to return a phone call. Absolutely pathetic company.

Blake Maczinski: Another large company that puts zero interest in their lower rent areas. Renovated old houses with horrible fix ups and very irresponsible parking for some rentals featuring "park at your own risk" in your very own driveway at the place you pay to live at.

Linda Jarrells: This company was hired by Richter Company aka Vista Property Group, former management company for Heritage Square Association, Inc. to build decks on two condominium buildings. They began construction the end of September 2021 but didn't have approved architectural plans until Nov 29, 2021. The plans were revised and approved on Dec 23, 2021. The building permit was issued on Jan 1, 2022 long after many of the 32 decks were completed. Despite repeated complaints to the city inspectors, nothing has been done by them to rectify this. Neither Copper Rock nor Richter Company responded to complaints from owners about the poor quality of the construction. Many of the decks lack moisture barriers allowing water to pour into the sliders of the condos. Railings measuring only 36" rather than the required 42" were installed. Most of the center posts move, some up to 3". They are not stabilized according to construction code. Some center posts are held in place by one screw or nail. There are gaps in the flooring that allow water, dirt and icicles to fall to the decks and patios below. Some of the decks have shifted. One is bowing down. Fascia applied around support posts are splitting away. Roof support columns were removed. Required footers under the patios were not poured. Property was damaged by their workers during construction. Workers were rude and constantly used the F word as they conversed on our decks. During a phone conversation, Vice President Robb Constantine was extremely rude. Against action taken by the board of directors, Richter Company paid $88,000 to Copper Rock. A formal complaint has been filed with the Michigan Bureau of Construction Codes. This company should not be allowed to operate in Michigan.

Hired to replace 32 balconies, at least 13 of them have water leaking into the living rooms. Did not build to code. Still haven't finished our job 😞

It’s seems wildly unprofessional as far as far as I’m concerned and I will be doing my best to make sure everyone I ever meet knows that Copper Rock Construction thinks it’s appropriate to try to harass and intimidate people in their workplace for having the audacity to ask about your business practices.
