Keith Remelts: Looks like a cute shop. Went in to have a coffee but their hours aren't correctly listed. It shows they're open until 5:30pm when they are in fact only open until 1:30. So I wasn't able to try their coffee or get the treats I had grabbed. Maybe I'll try again another time. But it's definitely frustrating to take time from work only to find out they mistakenly listed hours wrong.

You can't get any higher quality nuts. You won't find a broken cashew one here. Every piece is hand chosen to the highest of standards. Koeze has been a Grand Rapids staple longer than I've been alive. I ADORE this place for gifts, special events/occasions, hostess gifts, and occasionally some high end treats for ourselves. An absolute MUST. Also check out their wonderful store at Knapps Corner! Fantastic!!!!

John Crankshaw: I don’t go often to this store — my Spring visit is to buy a giant pot to place at a local grave I decorate. They always have them. Inside the store you’ll find a renowned butcher case that a come to a few times during the summer for bbq meats, sausages and other goodies. They have also an olive bar and cheese case. Also nice produce and specialty packaged food items. And much, much, much more.

Kari Hicks: This place is such a gem! My fiancé and I are both foodies, and love to cook, and this is our go-to store for inspiration. As soon as you walk in you’re hit with delicious smells, and the mesmerizing wall of chocolate covered goodies, and candies. The best part is the fantastic meat counter! Friendly, outstanding service every time. Hands down, the BEST homemade breakfast sausage links around, a variety of jerky sticks, huge stuffed pork chops, and if they have the whole smoked chickens, grab one! I was also thrilled to find Cavendish & Harvey hard candies from Germany…a favorite of mine from my childhood. We also love the selection of individually wrapped buns/croissants, and cake slices from Sugar Momma’s Bakery.

Justin: I went here to quickly grab a head of lettuce and one tomato and left paying almost $6! The tomato wasn't fresh and the single head of basic lettuce was $5.00!!! I have NEVER paid more than $3.00 (and that's expensive) for a head of lettuce, let alone $5.00... I used to love coming here for their meat market in the back, but this is just plain getting ripped off, and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I do understand that smaller stores are typically more expensive, but paying 60-70% more for something so basic is a tad absurd. Can't say I will shop here again unfortunately.

I cannot speak very much on their supermarket, as I have not been there recently.𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬I love, love, love their smothered pork chops. Every single time I have been here except for one, this is what I've ordered. It's two fried pork chops smothered in their beef gravy, which is made in-house. Absolutely delicious. Very flavorful. These will definitely make you hurt yourself from over-eating if you're not careful. Definitely like how mama used to make!𝐌𝐚𝐜 '𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞I'm very picky with most mac 'n cheese. It reminds me of Kraft Instant Mac 'n Cheese if it's not done right. This has not been one of those times. Their baked mac 'n cheese is made with cavatappi noodles, which is a perfect vessel for their cheese sauce. Also comes topped with bread crumbs. Absolutely delicious. It is definitely home cooked.𝐋𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐬This is definitely a must-try dish! Honestly, between this and the mac 'n cheese, I would come here just for those two things. Their loaded mash comes with a house blend of cheeses and then it is topped off with bacon, and then baked in the oven! The mashed potatoes are creamy while the cheese and bacon is not overpowering. A great side to any meal they offer.𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬These were not my favourite, but to no fault of the cooks! The chicken was very juicy and it fell off the bone because it was so tender. I just think the seasoning isn't my forte.𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠I really liked this! It is made with house-made chicken broth and then toasted. The only thing missing from that is a side of gravy! Yum.𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬The portion sizes here are absolutely HUGE! I usually have one meal last me all day and still have enough for a second day if I can restrain myself from eating it all in one sitting. Their cornbread (which you get with every meal) is really tasty and it reminds me of having dessert. You get all of your drinks from a standard 12oz can, which I love. It's name-branded as well. For water, they give you some of the best; Ice Mountain Spring Water. If I had the money, I would totally buy from Great Giant Supermarket every single day. Hats off to the chefs, keep on cooking because it's some of the best soul food in Grand Rapids!

I would have never expected this quality level of food out of a counter kitchen. Very, very tasty.Definitely worth trying if you’re looking for an affordable meal, will have to try the more traditional soul food offerings next time!

When I asked I was told the bakery manager had been promoted and the new one doesn’t know how to make donuts! What? A bakery manager that doesn’t know how to make the product much less manage the bakery? Not certain I’ve ever heard anything so stupid. The Peter Principle at it’s finest. Is this going to be the death keel of D&W like their sister store Family Fare?The Russell Stover rack has not been replenished for at least six weeks. I buy sugar free chocolates for a friend and I haven’t found them since well before Christmas. They also had a special on the Russell Stover boxed candy. Buy one- get one free. And there were none.I haven’t found the small cans of V-8 for weeks. Often they are out of Diet Coke. I could go on and on. Most of this has been the norm long before COvid. But the lack of donuts was the final straw. They have become similar to a poorly stocked 7/11. I expect way more from Spartan Nash. And now a year later not much better. Tons of donuts but not a chocolate one to be found.

They have a wide variety of usual groceries; however, the prices are a bit more compared to places like Meijer. They had tahini which Meijer no longer carries, but we're out of mint during my most recent visit. I tend to only stop at D&W to pick up a few items and if it's convenient for me.

Maybe I'll be back next year once the year of perpetual reorganization is behind this store.D&W Fresh Market is a nice place to shop. The selection is generally good. However, no bulk foods section. Great selection of gluten free foods. Butcher is very good. Produce is fine The highlight of Michigan-produced foods helps people wanting to support local businesses. Service is always attentive by the active staff members.

I asked two different employees and then a manager the first two employees gave me the cold shoulder and told me they didn’t know where this item was. It was obvious they didn’t care to help a customer. I finally found a manager who is too lazy to show me where it was but pointed and basically wish me good luck. I will never go back to this location. I don’t know if they don’t pay their employees enough or what the problem is, but I had a terrible experience there.

Rita Karrip: Gaslight village store is far better than Breton Village store in all ways except two. The meat selection is not as good as it could be and the deli section where they sell hot foods is lacking but overall a much better store as far as product availability and staffing.
