Canopy by Hilton Grand Rapids Downtown: what do users think?
Kim Ellerbrock: Beautiful modern rooms, fantastic location!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
jeffrey Szyarto: Amazing hotel! The staff is beyond friendly and the rooms were amazingly clean. This location was very centrally located for our visit which was wonderful. It is within walking distance to many popular attractions in Grand Rapids and was right around the corner from our concert venue (The intersection.) I would gladly stay here anytime I visit Grand Rapids. The parking was a bit weird to find and then get into the hotel but that was manageable and I think if we would have thought about our location it would have been easier to find parking. They have an amazing breakfast sandwich which was a great way to start our day.Rooms: They were spacious and amazingly clean. I loved the furniture in the room and everything was very well kept.Nearby activities: It is close to many popular attractions in Grand Rapids. It is within walking distance to Founders and the Intersection. If you are looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat before a concert they are just a block away.Safety: This hotel felt very safe and well lit.
Debra Tanzer: Rooms: Very clean rooms - comfortable.Safety: Very safe hotel.Food & drinks: The upstairs bar is very nice. Wish it would have stayed open longer since we just came from a wedding across the street.
Melissa Graham: Booked a room for my brothers wedding, they were very hard to work with and even though we were told they’d accommodate and work with blocking off rooms, it was not an easy process. Disappointed in the way we were treated.Rooms: Nice rooms.
Kari T: Staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were immaculately clean with amenities I don't see at other hotels. Great night of sleep: beds were so comfortable, and even though we were right by the elevator hallway, there was no noise disturbance. Walking distance to The Intersection, tons of food options, kids' museum, and many other places of interest. Walking from the parking structure to hotel was awkward due to construction, but the extra I paid for the Park & Stay rate more than paid for itself. Would like to see more vegan options in the cafe, but they do have non-dairy creamers. Would definitely stay here again.
Josh Sikkema: The Canopy downtown is my home away from home. Kyle and Angela always make me feel right at home. The staff goes above and beyond, THANK YOU!Noteworthy details: The staff are excellent and attentive. Beautiful views from the 8th floor and you are right in the heart of Studio Park. Amazing!
Greg Wade: The staff was super friendly!
Yvette Butler: The hotel was immaculate, comfortable and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The Oak+Stone Urban restaurant is a mustNearby activities: It’s located at the Mall of America
Miguel Carmona: PARKING is a Nightmare. CANOPY has a LIMITED amount of PARKING SPOTS @ STUDIO PARK. Research if the surrounding area has any major events going on. If they do, DO NOT DRIVE TO the STORE LIKE I DID & come back to the parking lot to find it FULL! called the front desk and they recommended a few other parking lots. Drove to them & they were FULL.. after driving around for 20 minutes in traffic.. a parking garage was found 7 blocks away. We brought the ticket to the front desk to see if they would cover the fee & they said there was nothing they could do. Haha I was not shocked! All in all.. just ridiculous for GUESTS to not be guaranteed a parking spot for their stay.. HOWEVER went up to the TOP BAR “KNOOP” . Completely out of everything to eat BUT they had ONE drink called “42 WALLABY WAY” SOLID CHOICE & thanks to the waitress who recommended it!
Celeste Maclin: We had a great experience at Canopy.Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was super cute and modern. We loved that we were on the same floor of the gym, which is pretty spacious, clean, has water and cups for guests, has a great view, and has a good amount of equipment. Newer stuff, too, like a peloton bike.We loved the rooftop bar as a way to end our night.Great location. Close to a lot of nice bars and restaurants. They have bikes that guests can use to ride around the city if you'd like. They have a really nice lounge breakfast spot downstairs near the entrance.Note, breakfast is not included.. you gotta pay.You also gotta pay for parking each night. All in all, we'd definitely come back!
Jaimee Harris: This is my third time staying at Canopy and every time is better than the first. This stay was particularly great. The staff was extremely welcoming and several staff members went above and beyond to assist me with some complicated (complicated on account of a unique situation -- in other words, it was not them, it was me) tasks. The location is fabulous -- right next to Midtown (fabulous music venue), and walking distance to a lot of great spots (Pyramid Scheme for pinball), vintage shops, and restaurants.
Marty Fortuna: Great location!Rooms: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Andreas Giger: Nice New Hotel at nice location. Within walking distance good Restaurants and sports Bar and even a cinema. There is a Skype Bar AT top floor available ad well.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Lauren Plate: The concierge was not helpful whatsoever. 2 stars for the maids being more helpful.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Tiffaney T: The hotel itself was VERY modern, chic & super clean. Staff at check-in were super friendly. The late night staff (after 10:30 pm) not so much. Felt like children being rushed to our rooms after coming back from a concert at the Van Andel, which is walking distance, so that was super convenient. For such a NICE hotel that it is, there were a few downfalls that I personally will most likely not stay there again. There was a huge amount of homeless people swarming the building and hounding everyone for money every single time you walked by. It was kinda scary, as they would walk so close to you. It was insane. Also, this hotel has NO parking for hotel guests. You have to park a few blocks away in a parking structure that is no way attached to the building, so u have to drag ur luggage thru a movie theater then outside down an alley where the homeless are waiting to hound you over and over until u make it in to the hotel. Once inside your golden. Also plan to bring something to eat with u after a show at the van andel, as NONE of the restaurants that are with walking distance to hotel are open after 10pm, and the hotel doesn't even have vending machines.
Don Donachy: Pros : Great looking place! I’m guessing newly remodeled.Cons: lacking creature comforts. Usually I would expect more than one creamer and just plain better coffee service. Usually I would expect a plastic laundry bag or 2. They have “filter water” taps in the hallways, while it may be filtered it still tastes like it came from the pool, oh that’s right no pool. And they didn’t have that $3 water for sale I’ve come to expect. Overall beautiful place but nothing else in the way of perks. in the $200-300/ night I need more. I do have to say Nayah the front desk person was super cool for giving us a heads text about parking and an early check in. This I don’t expect!

Morton Hotel: what do users think?
The A3 Company: I would have LOVED to leave a better review but after being THREATENED & FALSELY accused of stealing here we are. The hotel was very accommodating itself but that is where it ends. After checking out I received a disturbing email stating we STOLE linens which we NEVER did. We not only washed and folded but helped THEIR worker load it all and clean up to ensure it was in the ORIGINAL state. I have NEVER been treated so poorly then have their staff THREATEN me by defaming my name which is against the law pursuant to 18 USC 41. I will be seeking ALL legal remedies for this situation. I expected better after spending the amount of money I did with this establishment. I’m disgusted to say the least and I just wonder did any of the WHITE guest have this same problem?!

Sherri Jones: First time staying at this Hotel.Came to town for concert at Van Andel Arena. Would definitely stay here again! Residency style accommodations; beautiful suite, kitchen and open concept living area. Strong security systems. Thank you Logan for the high class service welcome! Hotel is walking distance to Arena, downtown restaurants and bar/pubs. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!!
Laurie Evonich: The location is great & convenient! Our college age daughter lives a couple blocks from the hotel. Also, having a full kitchen was very useful; I had to cook/bake a full meal for 15 people (to take to another location) and that was perfect to make that happen. The bed was comfortable and the closet was huge. Although a lot was happening on the streets of GR it was very quiet in the room.

Ron Firchau: Unique hotel that allows dogs there. Has exercise rooms for dogs too! Very clean.Rooms: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Tom Lane: Very clean. Automated service worked perfectly. Location is ideal -- in the middle for the most happening part of downtown.Rooms: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Maarten van Lieshout: It's a modern hotel in a historic building. The apartment I stayed in was spacious, clean, and friendly with all the amenities you can think of. Loved how they preserved and accentuated the original structure (e.g. steel H beams). The check-in and check-out couldn't be easier as most of the communication goes via email. No hassle at a desk. And the security seems great. 1 personal code gives access to the building, my floor, and my apartment. Don't like codes? When entering my room 2 fobs were waiting for me.Although there is not much interaction with staff the tone of voice is friendly in all their email and p[rinted communication: making sure both fido (if you happen to bring your dog) and you feel most welcome.
Julia Pulk: Good location, clean and comfortable room, kitchen and washing machine were great additions.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Kelsey Zigarelli: this hotel was absolutely beautiful but also very creepy. someone was supposed to be at the front desk form 10-6 but i never saw anyone there. personally i think i hotel should have someone there from 8 to at least 10. You also use the same code to get in the elevator that you use to get into your room. if someone see me type that out and they know what room i'm in they can easily get into it. I would have felt much safer if we could have changed the room access code.
Maxmileano Adame: Beautiful place, close to everything downtown. Very clean and well kept. Will definitely be back and telling others about The Morton Hotel..Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
John Cross: Fantastic place! Newly renovated (with high end finishes like quartz countertops and LG kitchen appliances), great location, and best of all 100% dog friendly.Rooms: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Katharine Bordogna: There is no staff on site , no staff who answers calls or emails . Did not feel safeRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Laura Lopez: Logan, the Hotel Manager, is exceptional! He ensured that our stay was perfect and memorable! Hotel is in a great location! Wonderful suite! Absolutely will stay here again!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ashley Johnson: This hotel exceeded my expectations! It was our first time traveling with our 5 year old Bully. He LOVED IT! And so did we. Large room, prime location, no problem parking daily, SUPER CLEAN, comfy bed, no dog smells, big furnished kitchen with everything we need, and easy contactless check-in and check-out. I couldn’t say enough great things. The doggie play and wash area in the basement was absolutely clutch as well for those early morning or late night potty runs. We’ll definitely be back

Carole Mueller-Brumbaugh: Front Desk people could have been friendlier than just business. Housekeeping staff was very helpful and friendly on the 6th floor for your Room #624. We will be back again when in Downtown Grand Rapids.Walkability: Great to walk to Grand River Presidential Park and onto Varnum Law offices where we had business to handle. Loved the park and walk experience!
Anna Heisey: Excellent place to stay. We had a two room suite for our family and it was perfect! We loved every minute of our stayRooms: Spacious and clean
K W: The rooms were very spacious and the staff was wonderful and so friendly any time we had a question. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay again. Perfect location to anything downtown. Parking was $33/night and you get in and out access with the hotel. The parking lot was attached to the hotel and we had no trouble getting a spot. Great experience.
Zachary Kool: We always went there for 1 night while traveling to northwestern Michigan. The breakfast and the rooms were awesome!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Karl Ray: Way better than I expected! First, Dave at the front desk had us cutting up and laughing immediately. The Waters Building dates to 1899 so there are a few quirks. Parking and unloading are not intuitive. Dave explained the options clearly so we nailed it the first time.Having done some renovation, I loved our room! They kept the original brick but added a slight bench at the base to hide the new electric and plumbing - very well thought out and executed. We came to the "big downtown" for a grandson's wedding. We planned to grab a bite then crash for the night and go to the wedding the next day, but we discovered that the symphony was playing. The restaurant we were going to go to was slammed. Rather than waiting, we went to another that turned out to be great! We grabbed a bite and went to the concert.Just a great experience, way more than expected.#gratitude #blessed
Steve Beene: Nice hotel that is in a good location. Service good. Room great. Breakfast was subpar.
Kathrine Goeke: Extremely dissatisfied with the inhumanity of the service of this hotel. If I was able to rank negative stars I would. Future guests be aware that this hotel will cancel your reservation without notice. This happened to our family this evening for a reservation we made two months ago and just by chance happened to call the hotel to check on the reservation only to find out that our reservation had been cancelled and the hotel was now completely sold out. Not only were we not notified of this cancellation, but when we called the booking agency to find out what was going on, they also didn't have any record of the reservation being cancelled.Upon inquiring on how this could have happened the hotel's representative at the front desk impolitely informed us that this is the hotel's policy and it's the risk you take when booking through a third party to save some money. I'm completely flabbergasted by the lack of customer service. Apparently this hotel would rather kick someone to the curb to make a few extra dollars a night. Shame on you!
Derek Lawrence: Markus and David are awesome. They made us feel at home and I can't say enough good stuff about them. These dudes do not make enough money. Please pay these guys more. You will be hurting if they leave your company.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Marj Haber: During my stay in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Homewood Suites Downtown lived up to its name. It was a wonderful “home away from home!”The suite was well-furnished and very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. What really stood out for me was the staff. They were warm and friendly and very accommodating – especially Alex, Stephanie, and Noah! This will most definitely be my hotel of choice next time I visit Grand Rapids!
Johnny Pick: Great hotel and location, this was my 2nd stay, and being within walking distance of all the mojor entertainment is a huge plus.Nearby activities: The bob, flannagins, sundance, mojoWalkability: Lots of nearby attractions within walking distance
Darren Ames: This has become our go to place to stay in Grand Rapids. The amenities are wonderful, and the included breakfast is definitely worth getting up for. It’s location is walking distance to Van Andel Arena and other venues, which has been very convenient.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Grand Rapids North: what do users think?
Amy Babcock: I don't know what it is with the hotel scene in Grand Rapids, but it's literally feast or famine out here. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground on hotels. Being that this is at least my third over night trip here in recent years, I wanted a hotel that was close to everything and in decent shape. I happened to stumble upon this location and decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you, this place is fabulous. (and not all hotels out here in Grand Rapids are. So, that's saying a lot.)I booked online and checking in, the place is fabulous. Clean property with everything in good working order. I didn't have to wait for my room to be ready, which has happened in years past from other hotels in the area. So, that's a bonus right there. This place has everything you could imagine. Indoor pool with a hot tub, spin classes, beautiful lobby with complimentary breakfast, you name it. My room was huge, clean and had all the amenities I could ever need. Staff here's on the younger side but the hotels very well run, which impressed me.Prices are on a bit of the higher side, but you really do get what you pay for. Updated rooms, clean property, free wifi, you name it. Plus, they have full kitchens here, and the rooms are spacious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, as it was a fabulous experience.Rooms: Rooms are modern with lots of good amenities.

Bre: We stayed for visit family and friends for the weekend. We booked through Expedia but our reservation did not show. The women at the front desk on January 20th was very helpful in getting it sorted out. She called Expedia and they hung up on her a couple time. And all while she assisting others. 10/10 excellent service. Also the room is very clean, smelled good, food selection and coffee were delicious. It’s also very conveniently located.
Colby Colarossi: This hotel is TERRIBLE! The breakfast is OLD, the hotel is unsanitary, the pictures tell a lie. The pool is dirty and unsafe. I cannot believe this is a part of the Hilton family. My daughter got sick off the breakfast, 24 hours of puking, it was so bad. They had milk boxes in the fridge which were expired. The staff was nice, but the owner who is also known as the manager was completely rude. Our room lost power - just our room, and she would not move us - we were told it would be on by 8pm (8 hours without power) and it went over 30 hours. I will find every place to review this hotel franchise terribly; I am appalled.
Morgan Michael: Our family had an absolute BLAST - of course, we have fun no matter where we are, but the hotel staff was great, the hotel was quiet...for the most part, I am sure we were a bit boisterous, but I digress. It was clean, easy access to shopping, restaurants, the highway...we would definitely recommend and stay again.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Residence Inn by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown: what do users think?
Andrea 1994: Residence inn downtown grand Rapids reviewAmple pots pans and cleaning supplies as well as dishwasher and fridge space. Large lounging area and desk space. Stain on the lounge area table looks like tape residue. Bed neatly made with ample pillows. Architecturally pleasing city view of downtown Grand Rapids. Scuff stain on outer door near bathroom. Stains on the bathroom ceiling. And stain on the toilet lid. Large mirror space. Candie left an innerseat of kitchenette chairs. Beware of this parking….the garage will fill up quick after 4pm leaving you to park in abstract ways. Spaces are scarce. Biggest issue is the parking!!!!!
Stuart Taylor: Great place to stay. Right in the middle of it all. Great staff and an awesome restaurant in the lobby. The only reason not 5 stars, it’s very expensive so I expect at least this much at their price point.

Chris Chranko: Exceeded my expectations for a residence inn. Great location. Spacious room. 2 restaurants "attached" and super friendly staff at the front desk. I didn't go to wahlburger but really enjoyed
Gabriela Coleman: Perfect hotel if you have young children traveling with you. The rooms are really “two rooms” - a living area/kitchen and then the room with the beds/bathroom. The kitchen contains a decent sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, plates, and bowls.Very convenient parking and amenities!
Keith Feijoo: Great rooms and great staff.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Weston178: Overall, this is a great place to stay. The location is awesome for many things in the area. We stayed here and were just a 5-minute walk to the Van Andel Arena. The outside and inside of the hotel is very modern and clean. We liked the fact that they didn't use the traditional wacky color schemes that most hotels use. Rather, they used modern colors and styles - a nice change from the norm. The rooms come with kitchens which is also a nice touch. The staff is very good. From check-in to check-out, they were awesome. From our room, we even witnessed the person who checked us in go out to the top floor of the parking deck to help someone park their truck.Staying with the topic of parking, that is one area that is good and bad. The good is they have their own parking deck right across the street which is connected to the hotel by a skyway. The bad is to get into this parking deck you first need to check in. The issue is that there is only room for up to 4 vehicles to temporarily park in the loading zone to check in to gain access. So, if you are like us and the loading zone remains full after several loops around the building, you will have to park elsewhere, walk to the hotel, check in, walk back to your car and then proceed to park in their parking deck (which is $30 a night).Checking in also proved to be a bit confusing. Since we had never stayed here before we assumed you walk in the entrance at ground level and there would be a lobby with a check-in counter like any other hotel. Not the case here. You have to use the elevator to go up one level to get to the lobby to be able to check-in. The ground level is reserved for Wahlburgers and some other bar-type-thing. While it is nice having food where you are staying, it makes it confusing trying to figure out how to check in, even with the one sign that they inexplicably have on the opposite wall of the elevators, next to the service elevator that has another sign saying not to use that elevator. The elevators were also a bit of a hassle. Since there are only 2 that service all 12 floors they can get very busy and sometimes it takes several minutes to get one after calling for it.Overall, it's a good place to stay. It would have been nice to have been given any type of directions on what to do once we arrive to check in, however.
Aaron Fairchild: Great rooms. Very clean. Perfect location. Prices a little steep. But the location and ease of access, made it worth it. Only complaint I have. We had no hot water. Tried shower 5 times during our 1 night stay. At best was a Luke warm shower. It's mid March and 2 degrees outside. After walking to get everywhere. A hot shower was anticipated. Parking is not very fun either. Limited size parking garage, with limited spots. For $30/night per vehicle.....

Holiday Inn Grand Rapids Downtown, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?
Kris LaPointe: Maggie is the main reason our stay was a nice as it could be considering our circumstances. We had previously stayed at the Hampton Inn and were treated so very unprofessionally for all that they did wrong Maggie made everything that much better for us. She was kind compassionate and caring, just what we needed as our loved one is in the ICU at Butterworth Hospital. This establishment is very luck to have her as a member of their team
Amy Hall: Maggie was great at the front desk! Very helpful and friendly. So nice to see someone happy! Anything we needed she help provide!Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Karl Peterman: Stayed here for a few nights while attending a conference at the DeVos Center which is just a very short walk away. The hotel seems recently renovated and is kept clean and tidy. My room was abundantly furnished - I think is the most pieces of furniture I’ve seen - and they were very functional. I think the TV was 55” and could rotate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and exercise room were both in good shape. The restaurant had great food as well. I accepted an offer for breakfast every morning for $5/morning. It was definitely worth it. Great hotel and I’d stay there again.
Timothy Civis: Rooms: Clean and well kept.Walkability: Good location for site seeing
Mark Cliff: No hot water due to electrical issues! Might be a coincidence. Might not.
Jessica Vincent: The staff was amazing, nice and very helpful with any questions. The property inside and out was clean and welcoming. Homewood Suites by Hilton Grand Rapids: what do users think?
NIKI YOUNG: This is the worst Hilton property I have ever visited. I am a Hilton Diamond member and stay in Hilton hotels 3 weeks out of every month. This hotel is run down and dirty. The upholstered furniture in my room is saturated with filth. Beard trimmings were all over the vanity. The door and thermostat had visible grime. The window shears were absolutely shredded to pieces. The two glasses in the cabinet had not been cleaned. The trash had not been removed from the previous guest. I requested my room be cleaned the next day and was told by the head of housekeeping that it would be cleaned and the furniture would be shampooed. It was never done. I do not expect an older hotel to have the most current designs, but the least you can do is keep what you do have clean!
Eric Davis: One star is generous when it comes to our stay. We travel up here multiple times a year and usually on the other side of town, but this was closer for what we were doing. This hotel is in desperate need of repair and more attentiveness from the staff. Our room was a violation of fire code as the smoke detector was wrapped in a plastic bag, there were dents all over the walls, cobwebs along the ceilings, evidence of water damage, a broken drain in the bathroom, and I doubt the linens were even changed given their quality plus the fact they didn’t even have linens for the sofa bed. When going to the front desk late at night to retrieve (we weren’t able to get settled into the room until much later in the day), it seems the staff member was coming back from a”recreational” smoke break. It also didn’t help that they allowed a group of 50+ kids/chaperones to have a party outside, playing whiffle ball in the parking lot (hitting people’s cars) well after quiet hours and audible from our room. They finished before I was about to go and complain. When it came to breakfast, we were there about an hour after it started, the attendant was more concerned that surfaces were wiped than making sure there was food. The sausage looked like it was from the day before and they were out of potatoes along with half the usual items (especially for a Sunday). The drink machine wasn’t even set out and the majority of other items were in low supply. Aside from my family, you could see the many looks of disappointment from other guests at the “breakfast”. At no time while we were down there did it look like any attempt to restock was made. Our boys were also excited to swim in the pool. I should have checked the reviews first because it has apparently been closed for months, ridiculous. We had booked this room using accumulated points hoping to have a good experience. Never again, we cancelled our September stay at this hotel and will be looking at other options. So disappointing.
Saulius V: I would not recomend. It is old, dated hotel. Needs some renovation and cleaning. The staff was very nice though. Guy gave me his personal phone to make a call, so thanks a lot!Anyway. I woule better look for another place to stay.
Neil Douglas: The rooms were dirty and they needed a lot of maintenance.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Peter Fontaine: It's hard to find. GPS had me going in circles because there is no direct road to the hotel.Look for the Olive Garden, there parking lot is the entrance to the hotelGotta say, the room I was in was pretty beat up.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Daniel Decker: Surprised by the size and feel of the room. Full kitchenette for longer stays. Clean room, lots of space to stretch out.Rooms: Comfy and spacious
Darla Nagel: First room I had was missing a chair, smoke detector, and thermostat. Front desk person, no name badge or uniform, got us a new room. Pool has been closed more than 6 months. Breakfast is OK. Location near 96 and many restaurants and mall is good.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Pat Ligonde: I had a pretty bad experience with this property. The room was a disgrace. One of the handles to the bedroom was missing, the temperature control was off and didn't work, no fire alarm in the bedroom and the bathroom tub had a very slow drain which caused a backup. The staff are ok but a little rough around the edges. I would not stay here again if in the Grand Rapids area.
Alexis Villeda: Very clean and spacious rooms
John Cornwell: The photos are not accurate for this hotel. It is outdated and cramped. You can easily find newer Hilton properties for the same costs within a few miles of this location. VERY disappointed.
Steve Daily: Make it quickLate arrival and early departure...you won't be bothered by the odor and run down..Otherwise go down the road, there's got to be something better
K Arida: Wasn’t the worst hotel experience but it was definitely close. Rooms are outdated and in need of much repair. The handle to the bedroom door just fell off, tiles in the bathroom are loose and cracked. We didn’t even have a blanket. The front desk person did not answer the phone multiple times and took 20 minutes to get up to the desk to ask for one. Half of the lights were burnt out and they started construction on another room at about 8am. The pool/hot tub area was closed which is one of the main reasons we booked. Complete disappointment. Do not waste your time. Also cost in comparison to amenities and service is way off.
Marie Colson: Noteworthy details: They allow pets in any room which is a plus and the rooms were spacious. Down side of this hotel is you can hear everything. The people above you next to you and below as well as everyone who walks by your room. It was noisy and all 4 of us were sleep deprived by the time we got back home.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Kid-friendly, Great value …More
DM “D” WM: Stahl Drive is not well marked but there is a street sign. You won't see the Homewood Suites sign until you get to the property. The lobby/breakfast areas are small. Be aware that there really is no upgrade at this hotel so you shouldn't pay for one. Pool and work out room are both closed per booking notes. It is definately time for an update to this property. There is also no meal in the evening like there used to be M-Th. They really need to bring that back to this property because the value would improve.Rooms: Badly in need of an update. Especially the furniture!
Tia Killingham: Overall very happy. The pool was down during our stay but staff made sure we could access the pool close by. The room was spotless. Super clean, smelled fantastic. Overall why I’m taking the time to review is because the STAFF at this place?? AMAZING. Honestly. 10/10. Super friendly, courteous, accommodating, & helpful people. They made our stay worth while. Will be back soon. ☺️
Stefani Lennard: I chose the Homewood Suites because we’ve always had really nice rooms anytime we’ve stayed there. I felt like I was staying at a Super 8. The rooms are very dated and don’t feel clean. The hallways smelled like weed. The side entrance door was broken and didn’t lock. There was a broken door (all the way off the hinges) on the storage room in our hallway. About 10 minutes after our arrival someone opened our room door (but I had the hinge over it so it could o my open a crack). I called the front desk to let them know someone had a key, and it was the person working g the desk that had come in. She didn’t even KNOCK to see if someone was in there! It was a very strange experience.
Ryan: Filthy and run down. Nothing like the pictures. The bed was a queen not a king like it was supposed to be. Misleading and a scam.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More

Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown: what do users think?
Anish Mandala: Location is good. Currently staying here just stay away from the property plenty over other hotels out there. Too much noise outside the hotel especially on the weekend even ten floors up you can hear it as if you are right next to them. Literally impossible to get good sleep.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
B R: Nice hotel with a friendly front desk staff. They offer a free hot breakfast. Rooms were comfortable and clean... and mine offered a great view. They only reason I didn't give them a 5 star review is the program the room thermostat, which limits your control. I like to have the fan run constantly to create a white noise effect and prevent hearing street, hall, and other guests.
Zachary Kool: I stayed here once for 1 night while traveling to northern michigan. The rooms were modern, and it was next to the Homewood Suites.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Hulk Tube: Don’t go here!!! This hotel sucked. They gave us a room where neither the tv or air conditioner worked. Didn’t give us a bag for ice. We had to move rooms. Then when I asked for a late check out at 1pm, their stupid house keeping people knocked early over and over every 30 min, didn’t even let us sleep. Hospitality also was not good. They didn’t even apologize, then when we leave they overcharge me more than what the bill actually was.
Shelly Lomax: We stayed here for a wedding and it was perfect! Very clean, modern, and wonderful employees. Nice bar with good cocktails and excellent free breakfast. Great value!
Tina Lupiezowiec: We loved our stay at the Downtown Hyatt for many reasons, but what REALLY made our trip was the astounding customer service provided by the wonderfully friendly, eager to be of assistance, upbeat, jovial, and truly sincere, Elaine Hampton, the woman who checked us in, helped us navigate our way to parking with a level of enthusiasm that shows her devotion to customer service and who double fried our chicken wings to crispy perfection because she cared. What an asset to their customer service team and what a refreshing delight to receive customer service from an actual human being. Although institutions are big on the customer experience, these days there is so much uniformity, predictability and formulaic banter that, unfortunately, those experiences end up feeling insincere. YOU CAN'T FAKE CARING. Elaine is a value-added Hyatt staff member because she actually cares and is allowed the wiggle room to show her caring authentically. Hyatt downtown, you've got a real gem in Elaine.Nearby activities: The Grand Rapids Zoo is worth the trip.Safety: We felt safe wandering about.Walkability: Everywhere you want to go is within walking distance.Food & drinks: Loved the local GRNoir.Noteworthy details: The local architecture is stunning.
Maddie Archer: Fantastic stay at the Hyatt downtown GR! Beautiful hotel in a great location, the only weird thing was finding the front desk to check in, but it didn’t cause too much delay as it’s just on the 2nd floor! Very clean rooms.
Elisa: We attended an event at DeVos place and the hotel was within walking distance. Perfect location, beautiful views from the 9th floor, quite, we did not hear any of the other guests. The front desk was very kind. We visited the Placery bar in the evening and ordered Blue Hawaii and Peach Sour, very good! Late night eats we had the chicken sandwich and fries, again very good. The breakfast bar was just as lovely and they served wonderful coffee and tea options along with milk and juices. Overall everything was great and we will definitely be staying again! The young man with long red hair was awesome and very informative during the day and in the evening we had an older gal from Chicago she was great and really cared about taking care and connecting with the guests.
Jason Dadah: Walkability: Close to all the things.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Cassondra Gow: This place is an absolute joke. Check in process was ridiculous, and the blonde general manager that was working was INCREDIBLY RUDE. Their lobby is on the 2nd floor, and a man asked if it was the front desk and she replied "Oh wow did you follow the signs?" Sure you can park in their "public parking" garage, if you want to pay an extra $35. Never recommending a Hyatt (at least this joke of a hotel) to anyone.
Chris S.: Well located but a bit quirky; lobby on the 2nd floor.
Matt Renkema: Location is what it's about. Understaffed, seems to be a common theme downtown. Pay for parking with the hotel it is much cheaper than just paying at the lot gates, despite what the hotel staff told us...sigh...Nearby activities: Downtown is all a walk away
Brett P.: Terrible breakfast food and odd entry layout. However, staff was very friendly, great rooms, and decent gym.
Brandon Hetherton: Great room, great service, good location. Only downside is $32 for parking, but it is downtown GR 🤷Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Brent Barker: Very clean and nice.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
yayo mimo: What a great place to stay. Everything from the front desk people to the bartenders. Great location and great views. Super clean!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
daniel deutsch: Nice hotel but impersonal. Something just didn't gel quite right during my stay. The bar has a very limited drinks list which was odd. The bar kitchen had a limited menu which is ok but I think it was stuff you popped in a microwave, ok but also not ok. Staff weren't clear on restaurants in the area. No lotion as part of the toiletries package. Something else was missing but undefinable. I checked out early (my choice unrelated to hotel) and reception assured me that Expedia would refund me a night. I had to laugh. Was it ignorance? Placating me? I don't know. Overall not a bad stay but I wouldn't repeat.
Molly Reid: A great place to stay! Staff was great, clean surroundings and room!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

AC Hotel by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown: what do users think?
Emma Bemma: The staff here are wonderful, the design and location is chefs kiss. The biggest issue is how hard and stiff the beds are. They definitely went cheap. HORRIBLE BEDSRooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Jack: They printed out my receipt for meThe mark of a a reputable establishment
Haley Hilliard: Booked for the Morgan Wallen concert. As the concert was cancelled and moved to another date, I tried moving my reservation to the next date and it wouldn't allow, so I had to cancel 48+ hrs in advance. Got charged for the room at the time of cancellation. Called and spoke with a nice gentleman at the desk who told me he would get it taken care of. Waited a few days and the charges were not reversed. Called again and spoke with the manager who informed me that I would have had to cancel over 2 weeks in advance and that this isn't something she can do anything about. Without being able to move the date and with the show being cancelled I had no choice but to cancel. Accruing the fee for the entire room/stay for a cancellation is obscene. Do not recommend booking unless you know 100% that there is no way a cancellation will happen. The manager was rude and not helpful.
Sean Howard: Nicely appointed hotel in the heart of downtown. Service was a bit uneven but they tried. Family loves it. We will be back.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Romantic, Quiet …More
Leeannda Fischer: Great location fun hotel. Wonderful attention to detail.
L: First of all the front desk staff is amazing. Madison the supervisor was absolutely lovely, she made the whole process a breeze and was so kind and helpful. This hotel is very nice for the price, decent sized rooms and a lot of amenities. I would highly recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Chicago. The AC is right in the heart of it all, walking distance to everything run to do!
SpartyS: The AC Hotel in Grand Rapids is a perfectly located hotel, great price abs convenient parking!
Ed Boske: The room was very nice but your bathroom was a disaster. First of all the sink was plugged up would not drain it took forever. Surely this would have been reported by other guests long ago. And either ignored or don't do anything about it apparently. I took a shower and when I get out of the shower there was water everywhere have a mop it up I didn't dare want to stand on it there was so much I had to wring out the towel twice there was that much water. Surely this must have been reported also. Enough said. The room was nice I have no complaints about that part of the room.Rooms: As I mentioned in my review the room was quite nice. I have tried to respond back to you but either you gave me a wrong email address or maybe do not want me to contact you. I tried entering it back to you the exact location you typed. It will not submit
Bonzi Xaykosy: I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. The entire staff was beyond amazing and the room was spotless. The location was smack in the middle of GR. 2 employees that really stood out to us were Anthony at the front desk and Jose at the bar. They both truly elevated our experience to the next level with their high service of hospitality. We found ourselves bellying up to the bar in the lounge every night. We will be back!
Stuart Kocher Jr.: The room was advertised as having a couch. It did not. They said it had a "modified sitting area." That meant a shelf under the TV that was vaguely padded. Definitely not suitable for sleeping on. They also do not have roll aways.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, High-tech …More
Johnny B: Wow, I have to say....one of finest hotels I've stayed at in years, had the memorable Madrid Suite, amazing view, service.....Heather was adorable, we'll be returning soonNoteworthy details: Uh, how about those ceilings on the 7th Floor
Alexis Xoxo: Update: we stayed here for the 2nd year in a row for my birthday. The room we were in was extra large and very cozy! The noise level was much better this time around but we did have a room that wasn't next to anyone else. The view from out room was outstanding and over looked Rosa Park Circle. The parking situation was absolutely horrid. We had to park a few blocks away in a parking garage for another hotel and carry all our belongings. We could have dropped them off while we checked in but it was so busy by the front door and not much room for cars to park for check-in and check out. So out of respect we checked in and immediately moved our vehicle for the next few people coming in. Old review: I wanted to give this hotel 5 stars but due to the paper thin walls it gets a 4. But don't let that scare you away. The lobby is LOUD upon walking in. However, there is a bar right smack dab in the middle of it. It was hard to hear the front desk person over all the noise while checking in. The room was absolutely stunning. Very aesthetic and pleasing to the eyes. There was a refrigerator in the room but no microwave which was a tiny downfall. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. We were woken up about every 2 hours in the middle of the night by non stop yelling in the hallways and some of the rooms. I feel like if it was quiet we would have gotten a really good night's sleep. Our room faced the road and you could hear quite a bit of traffic driving by during the day. The room was clean except for under the bed. I only looked under the bed because I dropped something and it slid under there. The parking set up is awful. It was $32 to park in a tiny, uncovered parking lot next to the hotel, when you could pay $20 to park for the entire night in a covered parking garage on the other side of the hotel. The hotel and rooms are beautiful inside all in all. But there are just a few minor details that could be made to make it 5 stars.
