PHILANDES WILLIAMS: I've been renting a unit for at least three years and when my Mother needed storage recently, I recommended Extra Space.I haven't had any bad issues of any kind related to my unit and the grounds, buildings and walkways are always clean.

Melody Newhouse: Storage facility was fine. However, when I moved in my rate was $57 per month. After only 4 months, it was raised to $103. Felt like a bait-and-switch. I understand "market value" changing, but that is very much excessive. Especially when my original rate was still available to new move-ins on the website.

Linda Robinson: I’ve never had to put things in storage before and I hope I don’t have to often but, if I do this is where I’ll go.The units are clean and Audrey, the lady that works there, is very accommodating, professional, and pleasant to work with. They have very good security and excellent prices. If you have to put stuff in storage, use ExtraSpaceUpdate: I’m on Month 3 of my storage experience. Every time I go the lot, buildings, and grassy areas adjacent to 28th St. are neat, clean, and well-tended. So far, Audrey is the only staff I’ve interacted with (I think she might be holding the business up single-handedly!). I’m not sure how she does it, but she never seems crabby, rushed, or too busy to assist me with anything I’ve asked. She’s always wearing a neat ExtraSpace shirt, clean chinos, and a smile when I arrive regardless of the obnoxious heat & humidity. This lady deserves a medal…or at least a juicy bonus, for all her efforts. She even remembers my dogs’ name and mine. I really appreciate her. And, by the way, she did not twist my arm to write this…I’m truly impressed with her!Update: I’ve been with ExtraSpace almost a year now. The rental prices seem to go up on a pretty regular basis and I’m paying a lot more than I was originally. In spite of the cost increases I’m very happy with everything else. Audrey is a saint…I don’t know where y’all found her but I hope she’s well-paid, she certainly deserves it as she never fails to smile and be pleasant. I’d probably be a lot less thrilled about keeping stuff in storage if she wasn’t there!

Alison VanDeWalker: I'm pretty surprised to see all the positive reviews! I would say this is a subpar storage facility. Cheap sign up prices, but the rent goes up after a few months. The gate system is annoying, you have to type it in for every vehicle, you can't just have someone follow you in. And when you leave, you have to pull way off to a weird spot and type in your code again--the gate doesn't just open for you. During the winter, my unit was iced shut every time I went. I had to brush away ice with my fingers or pick at it with my shoes or whatever I had in the car at the time. I had water damage on multiple items from the roof leaking on them. I ended up leaving and going a couple doors down and it's been better (they even give you a really nice lock for your unit!) I wouldn't recommend this place.

I've had an issue with them before and that credit credited me money on my account to take the review off well that ain't happening this time.... There's no communication whatsoever on their end what is there a secondary contact on the account if they never use it until you're belonging or that person's belongings are going into auction??? Only to say and talk to me and tell me the price that was owed then two days later put a lien on it and double the charge without saying anything about it.... the lien is $137 extra dollars..... Complete fraud and lack ofprofessionalism

Good People Prosper: My best friend rented from here. She said that they give a free moving truck. The prices were good and the 24 hour access was very convenient. What she didn't like was the extra month that she was charged even though she wasn't using the unit. Make sure to cancel your storage 1 month if not more in advance. If don't you will still be charged a full month. They don't tell you this to ensure they get that free money. It maybe barried in the paperwork but hearing it from their mouth is something you won't be told.

Jehnel PORE: It was a nice place when it was open 24 hours. But now that their hours are restricted, it doesn't serve the purpose I need it for. I'm a third shifter so I only go out at night usually, and I want to be able to go to my storage whenever I want to. But now I can't! I will be moving my belongings to someplace else due to this. Also be late fees are a little excessive!! Especially when they charge them to you three times in one month! Terry Roberts: A person goes into a storage unit in the inner city of a major metropolitan area near here IE Detroit and the restroom is unlocked during the day you go in this one and it's locked for covid spend two years now I guess they're just isn't any humans that drink a lot of water in the middle of summer
Carrie Nelson: So far so good. I just rented a unit they're nice and they're climate controlled which is a plus. The only problem is they don't have outdoor units that you can drive up to, so you have to use dollies to haul your stuff to your unit.

Stacey Potes: Very reasonable prices on all units. I have been with them for awhile now. I started with a small unit and when I upgraded it was easy as can be no hassle. When something does happen to break (because things happen) they are on op of it here at the clancy location. I would say they have had a turn over rate of people in and out but the manager now that runs the place he is on top of everything and is a very nice kind man. I bieleve he is going to make a huge difference in the place and actually already have. I would recommend this location over and over again nothing but good things to say. Thank you to the management team for caring about us customers.

Trish Gruswitz: I was arriving with a large moving truck in the middle of the night and because of a change in plans I needed to find a storage unit that I could reserve over the phone and utilize immediately when we got there. We did everything quickly over the phone and everything I needed including a lock was waiting for me at my designated storage unit when we arrived way after hours were over. Efficiency win. And the price is reasonable. 👍👍

Charles Hekman: We had some stuff here for a few months. It's expensive. The climate control was great, but they didn't have public bathrooms, so make sure you won't be there for a long time. Also, one time we were there an elevator was out. The gate to the parking lot wasn't down, so anyone could get their car in the parking lot. That concerned me. Why are we paying $150 a month for lax security, broken elevators, and no bathrooms?
Aaron And Friends: Went there with a friend to get a few things out of her storage place was secured very well I was impressed. Also the place was very very clean didn't have a problem getting in or out at al the only thing that I would say that could be a little bit better at this place is wherever you go you have to carry all of your stuff from your unit out a certain door there's not like places where you can pull your car up or a garage doors such well for the inside you and it's anyways I'm not sure I didn't really look at the whole grounds but I know we had to carry it quite a ways to get back out the door and to her car .so other than that place was clean look great and the locker was spacious.

However, Danny, who was a temporary front desk rep on 10/27/2022, was so helpful that day. The gate was not locking and he really handled him with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. She’s exceptional! She went out of her to way to stand out in the heat to help me and was so polite and charming (even when working in the evening on a Saturday). Due to this issue and inconsiderate renters, the elevators are monopolized by renters not unloading all at once, such as they would with a flatbed, but unloading one box at a time to their storage unit and holding up the elevator. Renters should unload all of their stuff from the elevator to be considerate of others 💝

It is a very nice touch to have the three flat carts available near each door to help with moving items from the vehicle to the unit and back. With the majority of the storage units being inside the building, there is no worry about weather issues (rain/snow/humidity/etc...) damaging belongings. The building is always clean and easy to access, with carts available to move stuff in and out.I highly recommend this business!

Robert Keith: Don't be fooled by the false sense of security provided by the Cameras, only some of them work and the images they provide are not clear.Someone tried stealing the catalytic converter from my truck and my Storage Locker had the lock cut.The thief who was stealing catalytic converters gained entry through the gate by 'punching random numbers onto the keypad until one of them worked'.......and not only did some the security cameras not work, but the ones that did, were unable to catch a clear image of the license plate.The thief who cut my lock stole an item and it's going on 3 weeks without them looking at video footage.Both thiefs are still on the loose because of this businesses lack of legit operational security systems, which is surprising with the number of security cameras and systems on the property. It's unacceptable.Your items are not safe here, and this businesses doesn't care at all about it. Keep insurance on your items as everything is your responsibility. All the Storage unit will say is 'sorry'.
