When finding that my 6speed 2011 Scion was difficult to shift, Bob and his crew, instead of simply replacing the transmission, were able to replace the bearings, clutch, clutch plate, and resurface the flywheel. I asked if I left the car Friday morning would it be done the following Thursday (6 full days). The guy that runs the place (Ignacio ?) Right On Track: I’d like to be able to leave an honest review of Kaz Transmission’s service and quality. But unfortunately I can’t because they’ve had my car for more than 3 weeks now, and so I have no idea how their workmanship is, or even when I’ll ever get my car back. It started out as a one week job they quoted me. Then 1 week turned into 2. And then 2 weeks turned into 3. And then the 3 week mark came and went with yet another obstacle to the rebuilt transmission. I’ve had to call them or email a dozen times since the beginning, and every time it’s something new. First it was an oil pump. Then it was an engine sensor. Then it was a cyllanoid. If I would’ve known going into this that it would turn into this anxiety-producing neverending nightmare of delays and frustration, I would’ve driven my car right off the side of a cliff and bought a brand new one instead. Jae H: The guys were really nice here! I brought my vehicle here to service my transmission. I was told by another shop that my transmission was slipping, indicating I needed another transmission. So I took it to Kaz. Kaz told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with my vehicle and assumed my computer in my transmission needed replacement. Fast forward two months later my car is doing the same thing. I called to let them know and was told to bring it there. I wanted to get a second opinion, so I took it across the street the Bobs Transmissions. They were able to identify the problem, which was I had needed a new transmission. Within a week Bob's Transmission replaced my transmission with a brand new one and now my car is great. I'm unsure why Kaz couldn't find the issue. But as I mentioned the people their was very nice!Reply to Kaz: I admit I say across the street however, that's my view of it even though your about a good mile or two away from Bob's and located on the same street opposite sides. It's ok if you don't remember me, however it was your shop I went to. I was dealing with Casey (KC) the entire time with my transmission repair. As I mentioned before you all are very nice people! But my transmission was bad and it wasn't fixed. I even mentioned to you guys that the shop before I came to you said my transmission was slipping. You guys said you would check it out. You guys said you couldn't find anything wrong but replace the computer inside the transmission. Two months later the same issue occurred. I'm just happy I had a third opinion which helped a lot! But I asked them to take a look anyway, see if they bumped something. They fixed it for me, claimed it wasn't their fault, just an unfortunate coincidence, but they didn't charge me for it, which I really appreciate. That earned a 5th star for me. The transmission comes with 2 years warranty, but they assured me this issue was not under warranty, so i can only assume they did it for free because it was simple and to be nice.I think perhaps they could do a better job calling you about the status of your vehicle, but if you call em they'll tell you.As far as price goes, I don't know a thing about transmission replacement, but the price fell in line with what I had researched.Service:Transmission

Told me it would be more expensive to fix one way then the other and turned out not to be true. David Stoner: I took a classic Chevrolet differential to them for rebuild a few months ago. Drove an hour an a half one way because they looked professional. First impression of their shop was they looked like they just moved in and started up. I should have left then. Gave them the best possible parts available so the charge was labor only. He explained that no guarantees because I bring in my own parts, which were all new and reputable. I explained that this is a full custom and a lot of labor involved to rebuild this rear differential. He reassured me.I found his work questionable for many reasons. Now I have a leaking pinion seal after the extensive installation process. I think I will have to take out the rear end AGAIN and have it locally repaired. Differentials are simple and easy compared to transmissions. I did my homework on this one. Now I have a pinion seal to replace!The extra cost, and vehicle down time!

Who I assume is the owner, took a drive with me in the car to determine if it was my transmission that was acting up. He gave me a fair estimate and never pressured me to get the work done. In fact he gave me advice that depending on what my car is worth I might just want to think about junking it instead of spending the money on repairs. I very much appreciate the honesty and would definitely go back.

They never tried to talk above my knowledge level, and even leveled with me when they found out that I know a thing or two about vehicles. They were very thorough in diagnosing the issues I was having with my rear axle assembly.
