Lisa Ramsey: I was seeking information as I may need to switch pharmacies. The technician at the window was in the middle of a task so I waited until she finally looked up & acknowledged my presence, asking what I needed. She then went back to her task, giving me zero attention. I waited until she looked back up at me then I began to ask my question at which point she went back to the task she was working on again. She was also chewing gum like a cow chews its cud. I told her if she couldn't give me the time & attention my inquiry required I would take my business elsewhere. Some people should not be in customer service positions. Do better, Walgreens. You lost a potential customer!

Y’all gotta stop bitchin’ about wait times at the pharmacy, they’re allowed to have staffing issues just like…the rest of the country... and unless you’ve multitasked like a pharmacist at 5pm, just chill. The staff is always friendly and willing to help, despite how awfully they’re spoken to. Mike, the pharmacist, is an absolute gem of a human and has helped me more than once when I had an issue with my scripts. Darrel (Darrell?), who was working the register tonight, lifted everyone’s moods with a constant smile and a quick riff from a popular Disney movie; great voice, by the way! (Ask him to sing you something!) Truly appreciate all of you, I’ve been coming here for years.

Olivia Lyszyk: Absolutely horrible pharmacy. Continually closing at random hours, multiple employees not knowing the basics of their job, wait times are horrible, and half the time they claim insurance doesn't work. Avoid.
Lia E: Worst Walgreens I’ve ever experienced. My prescriptions were anyways out of stock regardless if it was refillable every month. They would confirm my prenatals were in I’d go in to pick them up and somehow… they weren’t there and I needed to wait days to even weeks.I finally had enough and switched from Walgreens and I’ve never had any issues nor delays with my prenatals nor prescription.Do not waste your time with this pharmacy location, the store itself is pleasant.
Jonathan Seely: This store closed the pharmacy for two weeks and couldn't keep their story straight about why it was closed. I had two new prescriptions called in after my physical, which they accepted, "pending review". I then found out the pharmacy was closed. The media got involved a couple days later, the pharmacy magically reopens, and my pending prescriptions are... gone. I am glad they were not urgent, and I feel terrible for everyone who did have urgent prescriptions. On top of this the store is always dirty, disorganized and the checkout is always painfully slow, no matter if there is a line or not. I transferred my prescriptions elsewhere and will never set foot in this store again if I can help it.

Other locations in the area that I have called say this location is full of new people who don’t know what they’re doing. Don’t go here!!! I told this location exactly how to bill my insurance and they told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. I confirmed I was correct the first time I went in to pick up my Rx. This location closes early due to low staffing and lies and says they will return call by end of day. I was also told my prescription would be ordered and ready and it wasn’t. martha hidalgo: Just a short time ago this was a great pharmacy - these days doctors prescription called in take more than six hours to fill or more. If you call the message (same recording) plays over and over for well right now it has been 1/2 hour.Time for a change I would say this is pathetic. There is one star here - for this place and even that is over and above. I am sorry for the only pharmacist who is obviously way over worked - she is very nice but no one person should have to handle this. A sign of the times.😢

Last time I asked there was no reason given why they weren't filled. It's fine for generic convenience items. I don't recommend sending your prescriptions here unless they are very low priority.
David VE: Called twice waited 15 mins both times just to be hung up on. Talked to the pharm techs when I'm in the store and they complain about how understaffed they are. You are a corporation, address this problem and hire more people.

She went and they said drive around the block it will be ready She did just that. Came back and the whole store was closed and a sign on the drive thru saying no Pharmacies on duty. So in 5 minutes they closed the store down. This was at 3:30 PM mind you. This is an important medication for a very sick person.

The pharmacy hours are often changing because of understaffing, the store is often dirty, and the staff are very obviously unhappy— the turnover is insane. I don’t know if this is a franchise or corporate, but dang, whoever is in charge at the top really needs to get their act together.

Ophelia Munroe: This is the worst and most unreliable Walgreens in town and it has nothing to do with the staff beyond the people making decisions.Management removed contact barriers long before regulations were lifted, refused to protect employees by enforcing mask mandates even after they didn't have to and were regularly seen without masks. This location also failed to keep vaccines available for the majority of the time they were needed.They have now begun shutting the building down for hours at a time and blaming staffing issues.Of course no one wants to work at a location quite literally known as the "Ghetto Walgreens".They can't keep staff because it's not a good place to work and higher ups apparently won't step down to do the work to keep a LITERAL PHARMACY OPEN DURING A PANDEMIC.That's not why I find them unreliable though. This is the second time I have gone to pick up my prescriptions in an emergency and not been able to get them because they simply decided.....to not be there during the posted hours.I was hit by a vehicle as a pedestrian yesterday and was trying to pick up my pain medication for my pelvic contusion. Now I have to contact the hospital to send it to a real pharmacy instead of this booze and candy cellar. This location literally serves no purpose to this neighborhood if it literally does not serve the neighborhood. It's almost always closed now. Or at least you can bet that it will be at some point during scheduled business hours when you're trying to fill your prescription.

M K: I went to pick up some photos I ordered yesterday. I was told it’d be estimated ready at 10:02AM by email. I came close to 1pm and my photos weren’t ready. I didn’t get an email or text message about it. When I checked my account, there was no status of my order.That’s 100% okay, they’re just photos, but the lady who “assisted” acted like it was a burden for me to ask for the photos I ordered. I didn’t come any type of way, so I’m not sure what warranted the attitude towards me.

m l: a couple years ago I rated this place highly. Nowadays not so much. The pharmacy at the place wasn't able to get my proper birth control which never was an issue until now. Chloe was absolutely useless in helping us through this. She basically told us that we have to just start calling pharmacys and asking if they have it. I personally feel like if you guys can't provide the meds that I need the least you could do is steer us in the right direction and look up if any other places have the meds. Making us go on a wild goose chase just to make sure that I have the right birth control is ridiculous. I am so disappointed :( I understand that things happen and sometimes they aren't able to get the right meds but the level of disrespect and lack of compassion or willingness to help is outrageous.
Kathie MacCallum: After the way I was just treated, I'll be moving to a new pharmacy After I pick up my script today. I have never, ever been treated so disrespectful and rude. The pharmacist was rude, spoke to me like I was one of her children. I've been going there for years. Not any more.

G T: Very friendly and professional, I got my covid shot here yesterday and the process was very chill and easy, my only complaint is the lady who did the vaccine put it high up on my arm too close to my shoulder, when shots are high up on the arm near the shoulder, it's extra painful and will be more sore, just a slight adjustment giving the shot lower down on the bicep will help a lot with pain and soreness.

This is extremely unprofessional.
Stacey Hoffman: Made an appointment online for my daughter 2 weeks ago to get Covid vaccine for 9:45. Get to store at 9:30. Wait 20 minutes for the one person in front of me to be finished. They pull up info for the wrong child. Have to fill out paperwork I had already completed online because and I quote "the computer system isn't smart enough to retrieve it". Get told to go to door on other side of store for shot. That was 20 minutes ago. Still waiting. Dont even know if anyone is behind that door. I can easily see how hesitant parents would have run for the hills by now

Both cashiers were incompetent to complete service of a small magnitude. I don’t know which staff member typed up a signed and misspelled the “ Tomorrow “ with “ Tomarrow”. Not only that, it was 6:57pm, with 5 customers waiting in line. I asked the cashier/lead why she isn’t opening up another register. She got so upset and told me I can leave immediately. I’ve been living over here for 22 years, never had an issue. Your store here is garbage because the attitudes in customer service and the laziness is pure disgusting. Alger heights community deserve better. Grand Rapids deserve competent workers, who enjoy serving others. The cashier response was “ we are counting down drawers”. Well, counting down drawers don’t come before team effort and servicing customers. It was still early enough to pause count and satisfy customers. Sad days. Community members go elsewhere. Please!

Staff is friendly, but they seriously need to get things out on the floor quicker, cause that place is never busy, so theres no excuse to why they are out of everything all the time. Jim Utrup: Great deals and a wide selection of goods. The staff is always super helpful knowledgeable about what is in the store and where things are located. You can get basically anything here from makeup, health products, food, alcohol, perceptions, and even get photos developed or a passport photo taken. They also have a great program through several insurance companies where approved healthy snacks and OTC items can be bought for free with the insurance benefit.

Took a while to find an employee, then she kept saying "I didn't know you were here!" I followed all the steps - what the heck? Then she almost didn't give me my whole order and I had to correct that for her.Today, I'm home sick and ordered delivery items to help with being sick. I was accidentally given someone else's order, too! So I called, waited through the five minutes of prompts, waited on hold while the manager researched what happened, then he told ME to contact Door dash to get it sorted out.What?! No! Don't offer services you can't sustain. I've had good experiences here in the past and I know staffing is hard so I've been patient. But this was just ... I feel bad for the person who won't be getting their order now because Walgreens couldn't handle it.

Today I went in to check on my prescription and they told me it could be fulfilled in person. 40 minutes later they told me it needed to be ordered which means it will another 2 days. I never get a called when my prescription is ready so I doubt I'll get one this time. 18 days late on fulfilling a prescription is absurd.

Fred Lang: Received a Covid test and someone did not put the state on the sample. Consequently the lab rejected the sample. Called walgreens and they could not help me. Called the phone number on the data sheet and they could not help me. Basically no accountability by anyone for the issue. No way to find out if this will occur again. In the past while going to the pharmacy the people behind the counter were so busy it looked like pandemonium. People not knowing how to enter data. They need to have more people behind the counter with specific responsibilities. Maybe it is a mistake to have pharmacies handling these new responsibilities brought on by covid or they need to staff up to handle them.

Kristy Turner: Overall, this is usually my favorite Walgreens and my only Walgreens. However recently they have acquired some new staff and everyone has been pretty great except for this one lady I had to deal with today. I have this one prescription that sometimes there's a confusion with how to run it with my insurance to have it covered. Usually they can fix it within 60 seconds it's not a big deal and they quickly fix it anytime I've asked them to recheck. Staff member Julie, wouldn't go and double check when I asked her to and just proclaimed it's not covered. I asked her if was there somebody else I can talk to because I have been coming there a long time and this happens sometimes. And she told me well it's not covered. Finally I said do I have to come inside to talk to a different person. Then she finally got me a different staff member who had already corrected the problem that quickly before even coming over to me and solved the problem with kindness. Walgreens, Julie is not good with people and probably shouldn't be at the window.

They never have them done on time they’re always saying “Oh give me another hour” if you need your medicine to get through day to day life do NOT order anything from here. The convenience store is nice and friendly but the pharmacy is terrible I can’t believe they haven’t had more complaints or a staff change by now like come on.

Have come here for years, but am now transferring elsewhere as I have lost count of how many times my script has been forgotten the notification never came. Last straw came when I stopped in 4 days after my script was sent as I never heard a THING from them and they "put it back" because I hadn't picked it up, but now they were out. How am I supposed to know to pick it up if you never tell me it's there to begin with!? Has happened many times. Would recommend ANYWHERE but here.

I called to see if my medication was in stock at this store (it’s out of stock in a lot of places) and after the technician told me they didn’t have it, I asked if she could look in the database if other local Walgreens had the prescription. She promptly told me “no” and that I would need to call around myself. I called the Walgreens on Michigan & Fuller and while they also did not have my medication, they took the time to check the system and find me a location that did have it in stock. The technician told me this was standard practice and not difficult to do. While I understand the technician at this store might have just been having an off day, there was no reason to be rude and flat out lie about her ability to check the database. Will not be filling prescriptions here in the future.

Stay far away from this place.Old review:This pharmacy sat on a prescription for at least 3 hours despite telling me it would be ready later in the day nearly 2 hours earlier because they didn’t have enough to fill it. They then offered to fill it partially if I could get a new prescription for it. I told them I could and to fill it partially, then they immediately backtracked and said they couldn’t fill it despite having enough medication to give it a partial fill, they couldn’t fill it because then they wouldn’t have anymore in stock. Then why offer it the first place if you can’t even do a partial fill? Then one of the pharmacists told me to my face they didn’t have time to deal with it, so I’d have to call another pharmacy to call them to transfer the prescription to a new pharmacy.Are you kidding me? What an absolute joke and failure of communication and service. I guess my wife gets to be in pain another night because this pharmacy can’t muster up even 20 seconds to leave a voicemail or do the absolute bare minimum to ensure this medication gets to another pharmacy. I spent more time trying to figure out this failure of communication with the pharmacist than it would have taken for them to pick up the phone and get the prescription transferred to a pharmacy that can actually do it’s job.Don’t go here if you need medication. They’ll screw it up and won’t tell you until you show up to pick it up.

Emily Walton: Very rude, pharmacist kept cutting me off. Even if they are busy they should be able to let you give a 30 second explanation of why you’re calling. She tried arguing with me about details of conversations she wasn’t involved in (from another pharmacy) when it was irrelevant to what I was asking for (to transfer my Rx to a different pharmacy). Walgreens in general has gone way downhill. This location was disappointing. I’d rather take my business to a pharmacy that appreciates my business!
JIM: Script called in by doctors office this morning still is not ready by 2:30 pm. This is 5 hours and nothing ready.
Jacqueline Campbell: I was extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Walgreens pharmacy. My 84 year old father was in excruciating pain and in need of a prescription, but the pharmacist was extremely unaccommodating and seemed to be in no rush to help. There is one middle age girl about 35 who stalls the best she can to avoid waiting on customers. Three times she told customers to wait at the counter for their scripts while rest of us had to wait 15 minutes until that person received her meds. She does the same thing at the drive in ,instead of telling them to pull over or come inside the cars line up.She is horrible and they are too stupid to figure this out. I waited 20 minutes yesterday while she was stalling with a customer reading scripts from meijers, one man called a pharmacist over and told her all I want to do is renew a script. Like I said, no one over there takes it upon their self to get rid of her. This place is bad.
GG Taruc: I was at this Walgreens recently. Lets just say the pharmacy went over and above the service they normally provide. They didn't have to do what they did for me. I truly, truly appreciated their efforts. I normally go here and have never had any issues with the pharmacy nor the store in general. The staff are always nice. While I appreciate the honesty, it was a huge hassle in the end. ON top of the rude manager you had on hand that night, I was upset you called to tell me your ink quality was horrible and that I shouldn't order it. Don't worry I didn't and I wont order photos from you if your ink quality is that bad. Sad day walgreens.
