They are a family ran business who gives individualized attention to every student. Vanessa has a kind heart and her attention goes beyond that of class and also to her students well being in life. We only have good things to say. If you are looking for a studio where you’ll feel like part of the family, look no further!

Jessica Kongstad: This is a wonderful gem of a dance studio we are lucky to have locally! Classes offered for all levels! They have ninja classes too and while we haven’t tried that one yet the kids seem to love it! Everyone there is talented, kind and committed. My child is only 5 but has been there a couple years now. I always feel very safe having her there even during these pandemic times.
Leah W: I signed my son up for their ninja class and unfortunately, our financial circumstances changed shortly thereafter, about two weeks. I requested a refund. I was told, “will remove him from class.” Roughly 2-3 weeks later, I inquired about my refund and was told they don’t give them out, their “system” doesn’t allow for it. The system for a refund is a check. Believe the reviews that talk about shady business dealings with this company. I will be filing a complaint with the AG office, any company that refuses refunds when services weren’t rendered needs to be investigated.

Becky Beauregard: We are starting our 6th year at Spartan Dance. I have a girl and 2 boys and they all take classes. It is a great place for boys that are interested in dance! My daughter was able to try out different styles before picking the class she was most interested in. The staff is very caring and accommodating!

Amanda Rospond: Really expensive. Class schedule is awkward and they recently lost most of their good trainers so class schedule and quality got worse. They made it extremely uncomfortable for me when I went to cancel my membership. Not very professional.
Matt Holtz: BE CAREFUL OF OVER CHARGING. they will charge you through the teeth for outfits even if you never signed up for the events that the outfits are for. They will, at times, have children as young as 12 years old in charge of classes for younger kids. Some of their teachers are great but in the end our kids asked to not go back because as they moved up they did not like the teachers.
Real Estate Matchmaker: The trainers are great with people of all skill levels and the facility is clean and inviting.
Laurie Brinker: A great place for a beginner or advanced dancer. A great group of instructors.
Elisa Krause: I love the environment and the people. You get a gratifying community full of people who motivate and support you. Brian Daniels is an experienced and knowledgeable instructor, always making sure you're effective with your workouts. Each instructor offers something different with excellent routines.

FDC has not only fostered her love of dance, it has also helped develop close friendships among her fellow dancers and inspiration from her teachers. We love being part of the FDC family!

Sara Welter: Shelley is an amazing instructor and I highly recommend this dance studio. We took private lessons before our wedding and she choreographed THREE dances for us, the first dance, a daddy-daughter dance, and wedding party dance. She is a wonderful dancer and very knowledgeable. She is also incredibly patient, and always happy and nice.
Brenda Nicholas: I just love taking dance classes with Miss Shelly, at Platinum Dance Academy. She teaches both adults and children, and is so patient and kind with all of us, regardless if we’re beginners, intermediate, or advanced. She’s a joy to be around, and quick to answer any questions we might have. I would definitely recommend Platinum Dance Academy for anyone who is interested in dancing!

calarie idhe: My experience with this dance studio was not a pleasant one. I initially fell in love with Ms Shelly and her studio. After my daughter attended a few classes I was not pleased with the way she was treated by Ms Shelly. My daughter has a speech delay and was not accommodated at all within the class setting. Ms Shelli actually asked myself and fiancé to take our daughter out of the class because she get she was not a good fight. The prices are decent but the experience has to match. I personally would not recommend this dance studio. Every child deserves to feel apart of a group and not feel different and Ms Shelly did not deliver that for my daughter.

WARREN DSOUZA: If you enjoy learning the beautiful art of dance, whether it is for an adult, teenager, or even a toddler- Platinum dance academy has a wide variety of options to choose from. Shelley is a very experienced instructor - who will teach you the fundamentals to dancing, along with combinations that can be used in formal settings to social events. My own experience with platinum dance academy involved learning latin dances- along with ballroom dances. Shelley was instrumental in providing routines that catered to my developing style- She was able to teach with high amounts of patience not just dance moves- but also the science behind why you need to execute the move in that way. I have been going to platinum dance academy for almost 4 years now, and it is a wonderful environment for learning to dance. I would highly recommend getting in touch with them to set up your next lesson.
Drew Ford: I took several ballroom dancing lessons at Platinum Dance Academy and had an amazing experience. Shelley was able to teach a class full of beginners to become excellent dancers in no time! As we progressed through the levels of dance she was flexible with adjusting the time of class to meet everyone's schedule. I would highly recommend for any new or experienced dancers!

Lauren Magee: I would give zero stars if i could. I put my two year old in the toddler class and spoke to ms. Shelly about her joining ahead of time. When we got to class she was so mean to my daughter. I put my kid in that class to have fun and be creative but this woman made it a nightmare. She told my husband that we needed to learn to discipline our kid better and we needed to start now. She said this in front of all the other parents after bringing my kid out of the class. My daughter was following along and doing what the teacher said but she was telling her things like “don’t touch my stuff” and “if you open the door you can’t come back to dance class”. There were other kids crying and doing their own thing because they are toddlers but this woman hated my kid and she made it obvious. After the second class she told us not to bring my kid back because she’s not disciplined and she’s been a teacher for 15 years and our kids not normal. NOT NORMAL. This woman had the audacity to say that about our kid and in front of all the other parents and kids. We were shocked and really confused as to how she could be so horrible to a toddler who is not in the class as a professional but as a young kid having fun. Even other parents were appalled by what she was saying to us. I won’t come back obviously and i don’t think young kids should be in this class. Kids are supposed to enjoy themselves, not be berated by the person whose teaching them.
Alexis Schneider: Platinum Dance Academy is the BEST place to get your little one dancing! My 5 year old began taking ballet & tap dance classes there 3 years ago. She adores Miss Shelley and LOVES to dance. The ballet & tap is legit not just movement based like many other dance companies around. My daughter has learned the dance terminology including all of the positions and above all continues to learn self-confidence and discipline. The studio is beautifully tucked away and is East Lansing's best kept secret. Shelley is an amazing dancer, teacher and knowledgeable in every aspect of dance.
Kasey T: Shelley came highly recommended by an Okemos wedding planner friend of mine; She did not disappoint! Shelley is an amazing ballroom dance teacher. There's nothing she can't teach you (even if you start out with zero ballroom dance experience, like I did). She'll have you feeling comfortable and confident on the dance floor within the month. I really enjoyed Shelley's ballroom classes, so I figured my twin preschoolers (toddlers at the time) would enjoy her ballet / creative movement classes... And, happily, I was right. Don't let the dance studio's unique location discourage you from checking it out. It's a beautiful studio with a wonderful instructor who offers affordable dance classes for kids and adults... What more can you ask for?

Kayla Wilson: Ms. Shannon made my daughters first season of ballet so fun and comfortable. The staff are very patient with instructing as well. Prices are also good! Overall cannot complain. Very happy! We will continue to keep going back. :)
Stacy Bussis: My three daughters are all taking dance classes this year at Delta Dance and love it! Miss Amanda is fantastic with the young kids and Miss Lauren is super fun teaching Jazz. I love that we can sign up for semesters (and quarters for the younger ones) because it doesn’t feel like a huge commitment up front. Miss Shannon makes it very affordable with rented costumes for recitals.
Marie Huggins: My daughter has taken various dance classes with Shannon and Delta Dance over the last few years- from 3yrs old on to now almost 7. We went to another dance studio for a season with a friend and it was not what we were looking for. My daughter has so much more fun and enthusiasm for this dance program. You can tell the instructors love what they’re doing and really like having fun with the kids.
Mandy Dittmer: We love DDC! Shannon and Amanda have supported our daughter’s love of dance and taught her dance fundamentals in a fun, relatable and engaging way. Our daughter came home showing us all that she’d learned and was excited to go back each week. So happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a dance studio!
Angela Fitton: I recommend DDC to everyone I know. I love that the classes are low commitment. Compared to another studio we tried, DDC is much more flexible and affordable. We've been able to use shoes from the freecycle cart rather than having to purchase a specific shoe and outfit for each class. We are looking forward to renting costumes for recital rather than paying hundreds for an outfit that will only be worn once, if that (hello pandemic). My girls like to try a lot of activities, so it's really nice that DDC has more than one term that allows us to work around other plans. But the nicest thing about DDC is the PHENOMENAL INSTRUCTION. My girls both love Shannon, and have had two other instructors (for musical theater and jazz) who are also fantastic. You can tell the instructors love what they are doing and love working with kids, which is what keeps us coming back for more.
