Krista Cox: I used to love healthy smiles!My cleanings with Felicia are so enjoyable. However, in March my retainers broke and I went in to the office for orthodontic visit to try to find a solution. I was never contacted back but went in for a cleaning a May. I asked about the results and to see if a solution was available. I was told I’d be followed up with but unfortunately I was never contacted.I called to leave a message a week after that to see if there was a retainer solution available. Nobody called back.I sent an email on May 22, no follow up.I called and spoke to one front office person (J) and was promised I’d receive a call back the same day. No call back.I called a week later and spoke to another front desk person (A) and she also promised she’d call me back that same day. No call back.I sent another email this morning. No follow up.I have made it perfectly clear that if Healthy Smiles can’t make me a retainer it’s 100% fine but I need to know since they have my scans from March before my teeth shifted and my teeth have now shifted which is painful and now no matter where I go for a retainer my front teeth will have a gap which causes self esteem issues and anxiety.I feel really sad to post this because prior to the orthodontic experience I would have recommended Healthy Smiles to any and everyone. 😔 if you just need a simple cleaning though it’s still clean, fast and pleasant.

Healthy Smiles cost nothing out of pocket for me and the attention to detail for my first visit was great. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable. The facility was clean. Everything seemed to move like clockwork. And Dr Ewing was very detailed in doing the exam. Look forward to going back!

Kay: I honestly can not believe that Dr Ewing is still treating patients. Thanks to him my child is now in extreme pain and in need of expensive dental work because he either can't read an x-ray or is just too old to be working. When I was told by my friend that she heard that Dr. Ewing just moved to yet another dental office. We both could not believe he is even allowed to practice. Not only did he not make me aware of the multiple areas of decay my son had and just basically forgot to do his job as my sons dentist. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WHEN MY SONS NEW DENTIST SAW MY SONS X-RAYS FROM THE PAST FEW YEARS HE COULD CLEARLY SEE THE MULTIPLE CAVITIES MY SON HAD FROM OVER A YEAR AGO. However Dr. Ewing NEVER saw those cavities which obviously leads to believe he can't see or read an x-ray or just did not care enough about my son to tell me about these cavities. He even told me at his last 2 dental cleanings that he made the cavity free club. How did that happen?? Especially when his new dentist has clearly shown me on his x-rays the areas of decay from over a year ago on my sons x-rays?? And I am not the only person who is now questioning his competency as my friend had a crown Dr. Ewing botched 3 times only to find out by her current dentist now that she had work not completed or in need of being redone because of work not properly done. The only thing Dr. Ewing has going for him is he is a nice soft spoken old man. Which I bought into when I met him and why I did continue to trust him. But my trust was shattered due to my sons current situation which could have been easily avoided had Dr. Ewing provided proper care. And I hold him and him alone responsible for my sons current issues. This is a clear warning to anyone who sees Dr. Ewing beware and make sure to get a second opinion because he should not be seeing patients at his age.

Dr Mark is very knowledgeable and prepared, he is very professional and you can tell he loves the dental challenges! He resolved my crown issue and was meticulous in applying the new one for a permanent and perfect fit! So please put your book/phone down and read this whole review.Today was the first time my kids 5 years old and 14 years old visited DeWitts office. We moved to Lansing recently and honestly I was looking on google for a dentist with good reviews that is close to our home. Even with google reviews that are great, I still am always nervous when it comes to new anything DDS, doctors, schools, etc. for my boys. Even though when I made their appointments they were kind of over a month out, witch made me think that he is good and busy, that is why. When we arrived at the office my boys said that the waiting room is so comfortable like a home not a regular doctor, witch was very true very cozy environment. Another thing my oldest noticed, in 14 years no matter how many times I have told someone how to pronounce his name, no one ever said it right the first time, but all the staff at DeWitts office have today for the very first time, another reason to like this place, this means they truly care.(the name, that is moms fault for naming my son a foreign name with wrong English spelling). When it came to treatment both my boys got cleaning done today. Very passionate, friendly, caring andthoroughly service. I am happy I have found my boys a dentist that they will be visiting for a long time regularly. One last thing, our last dentist claimed he needed to do a cavity fix for my 5 year old, about a year ago, but we didn't proceed, there is no visible signs of anything wrong or any cavities with them pearly whites of my son, but I wouldn't know I am not a dentist. But today DeWitt confirmed that there is no sign of cavities, witch in my eyes means he is not going to rip of your insurance to do unnecessary treatment on your children's cost. Be aware because I feel like our last dentist was definitely planning to do so. But not DeWitt he is for health and happiness not insurance. One last thing I forgot to mention is the cleanliness, he washed his hands and changed gloves often, even though I feel like my boys got the same germs DeWitt still changed everything and cleanliness and sanitary was important. Before each of my boys got a turn he cleaned up VERY well everything and washed his hand before putting his gloves on( I tell my boys to wash their hands as long as the happy birthday song is, DeWitt actually washed his hand like that)

They never left the lidocaine gel on my gum long enough, it would be there for less than a minute before they were giving me shots. I hate needles going into my gums. My dentist did not soothe my fears and at one time said I was being “over dramatic” about it. I felt pressured into a tooth implant that I absolutely hate and the cap is constantly breaking off. If I could just go to my hygienist I would have stayed.

That the service is rendered in a professional, thorough, and efficient manner. I just had a permanent crown put in. I was in on time, the crown was given it's final fitting, and cemented in. And I was on my way rather quickly. So much so, that I was still able to be at another obligation, that was quite important. I am a very satisfied patient!
