Cl9ud Nine: Went in today to purchase the black seed oil. Seen a brand marked down in slotted location on the shelf. Was later told that it was the wrong slot and price should have been located a few spots down. But there wasn't any open slots or double placement of the product. But the manager grabbed the tag to remove the current labled product and price location. And wanted me to pay double the price marked. I Won't purchase a item thats overpriced but is the regular price of a top brand on Amazon.

Jeffrey W: Better Health??!! I went there at my son's request as he had to return a powdered drink enhancement he bought the day before that was 8 months past the expiration date ($40 bucket). So I grabbed a coupon out of booklet I had and decided to try the salad bar a 1pm. The cold "salad bar" looked ok but the "warm food bar" looked awful. Many trays were empty or food was dried out. I still was dumb enough to grab a few items off both sides as I was hoping it was better than part of it looked (and regretted my choice later as it was awful QUALITY). My son who is a customer there was wiser than me (or knew something from past experiences) as he declined any food. The kicker was when I went to check out, they cashier told me I could not use the 15% off coupon on food. Whaaat? Petty BS, I did not see that disclaimer anywhere on the coupon and will try to double check when I get another one. However, I will not go back there again no matter what the coupon says for their over priced, under quality food bar. Nor their expired vitamins.

A M: Called ahead of time to place an order for the cafe and we ended up getting there before we actually got connected. We decided to do the grab and go and the food was so old and disgusting we couldn't eat it. The grapes were covered in mold, the tortilla wrap was so soggy you couldn't pick it up, the salad was soft and old. I don't know if they change their date on their stickers or just use really awful produce to begin with, but we will never again be going here.The customer service was also terrible. First of all the phone service, then when we get in there are 3 people at the check out leaning on the counters, on their phones, and gabbing. Greeted by no one even though the place was dead. Another customer was having a hard time flagging down someone to order food at the cafe.Also the hot food bar looked like it had been sitting there for days. So grossed out by this location.

Yahoo: Bottom of the barrel place. Better off going to any other vitamin/supplement place or ordering from a discount place online. 15+ yrs and customer service is still bad. Used to be 70ish lady (possibly owner) and now it's guys (1 with extremely bad b.o.) that talk amongst themselves about the gimmicks of the supplements being sold. Employees unhelpful as they have no clue about supplements but offered to help find things. The items they actually had available I found myself after employee offered something different and said they didn't carry it. Shelf prices are lower than what it rings up and cashier was annoyed and ignored it while wanting to proceed with a phone #. Avoid this place.

Bill Theibert: Wouldn't allow me to shop without a mask despite having a medical exemption. Everything was fine until I got to the register. I have a doctor's note but they made quite clear it didn't matter. I will not be back.The worse part was after being told I couldn't shop there and as I was leaving the store another employee approached me at the door to give me a lecture. Mind you I asked this employee for help prior to the whole incident taking place. I was leaving, they could've left it alone.

Antonio M: This location is better than some of the others. It has a small selection of produce and when the salad bar was running, it was great! Unfortunately the cafe leaves much to be desired. They are usually out of most ingredients and the display cases for deli items are very sad. Decent packaged goods section for a quick stop of your usual health food.

Your vegan imitation food is highly over priced and will cause you to not sell those products until expire and sold for a normal price as other stores.... I dont see this company lasting long. I think mondays is when they sell the expired stuff. I got 8 packs of vegan chocolate for .35 cents a piece originally 2 dollars.

Employees are positive and helpful, many are long term employees who know their store inside out.

We like their employee-owned business model and the incredibly respectful and engaged way they have of interacting with customers. Care just oozes out their pores. Foods for Living is an evolved Food Cooperative for the 21st Century, and they seem to be openly living the values.

Gary Fredericks: I don’t know if they’re under new management or what but the produce here is AWFUL anymore! It’s all moldy and wilted. Last Sunday I couldn’t find even ONE bell pepper that didn’t resemble a wrinkled raisin and they were all mushy. Their apples are unfit for deer bait. Even the stuff that spears good seems to rot within two days. Cauliflower, good luck finding done without black mold on it. Also, they went to all self checkout. Im just done with this place. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years here and now I’ll be moving on to the other farmers market on the west side of one of the other produce sellers in Lansing.

Z: I and my family have been shopping at this store for almost 20 years (before some of their employees were born) but since they started the Self Check Out I, my family and my colleagues rarely go to this place and I recommend it to others not go! Employees at self-checking look at all your items one by one and think that all the people who go there are thieves!!! It’s been a few times this issue has happened to me and my Coworkers and we really are sorry for this place to have such a weak management Because we have never seen such disgusting behavior anywhere. I don't even need your special discounts and with the two months profit of my business I can buy your entire shop! Before you judge customers as thieves, try to understand who they are and where they come from.

After driving 40 minutes for a specific item in the deli I discovered that department doesn’t open until 10am and no one was willing to help me. Rather than wait around for another 30 minutes for that one item I put all of my items back and left. I’ll drive a little further to WF- at least I can get consistent service there.

After the lady next to me took my place in line (the line went all the way into the aisle and she said she was at the end of the line and I was not even in line) for the self scanning, I looked for a cashier at noon on Wednesday. No cashiers, self scan only. Long lines for self scanning. I left without purchasing anything because scanning is not my job! Other than that, the store displays looked nice.

Beats by Citylife Streetsmartentertainment L.L.C: Purchased a preworkout product from them last april with a big order and I took a break had a minor surgery but I go to use the product three days ago and it was expired well before the expiration date of sometime in 2020...so I called the store and basically got the runaround and they claim its past the 30 day period they have for refund ..I didnt even want a refund just a replacement of product since it expired way well before its expiration date..I'm not just a new customer I've spent alot of money with them thru the years...alot of people dont just use stuff they purchase off hand rite away withing 30 days and much as I've brought from CN they should be able to settle something like that with a longtime repeat customer...leads me no choice to take my business elswhere... poor management at this location....
