Dave Morton: They are difficult to deal with. They canceled my policy for no good reason. One lady claimed that my bank account wasn't there another lady contradicted and said that there were insufficient funds available for the same billing cycle. Horrible experience will never recommend them ever to anyone.

Eric Coleman: You cannot contact Michigan Miller's direct and get your own insurance you have to go through one of their brokers and locally that is Mirabito-Gresham.I was looking for a high risk small business insurance for tree removal as a climbing arborist. I got three times as much coverage for about half the cost of anything else I found.They put together a great tree removal / arborist package. I wish I could remember the name of the broker on Chenango Street in Binghamton New York that didn't take my business and instead referred me to someone who could write a Michigan Miller policy. Thank you sir!

Cynthia Boghosian: Company refuses to give safety discount for cameras or other safety equipment. Raised our insurance THOUSANDS during 2020 when everything is closed. Due to a lack of options is the only reason these people have my business. For some reason this company feels like they’re entitled to a percentage of my yearly earnings or they won’t insure me. They don’t have a separate category for anything vehicle related they charge me for liability insurance for a garage not a towing company. Towing companies don’t have near the liability garage do. This is robbery. Now I have to raise my prices to account for the thousands every year they raise my premium. The moment there’s an affordable competitor I’ll take it.

Ziad Abas: I had a total loss accident from a company driver under this insurance on February 20th. The other driver refuses fault. It is now May 22nd and they have not done anything on their behalf they even seem to take to take as long as possible to make any response. I have yet to receive a single payment or a vehicle for me to drive. I have been without transportation and jobless due to this. Extremely frustrating.

JIM ALLEN: We have been with Auto Owners since 2007 and have not had any claims in the past 10 years. I had a fire start in my truck due to something I ran over on the interstate which knocked my truck's heat shield loose underneath and eventually ignited. Ultimately, the claims adjuster said "we don't cover mechanical failures" since when is running over something like a piece of semi tire tread or anything that may end up on an Interstate that is small and sometimes impossible to avoid? His argument was the catalytic converter was hot from being defective and caused the fire. Anyone that understands an exhaust system knows that if you are driving your vehicle the exhaust gets hot, it's suppose to but my claim was denied due to it being in their eyes "A mechanical failure"Just another example of a BIG insurance company stiffing the little people by not paying a legitimate and unfortunate claim.

David Brecount: This company does not stand up for its customers and has poor customer service. We have had our homes, cars, and business insured by them for 15 years. When I have my first claim, they are a nightmare to deal with. Moving on!
Tobius Grove: I was hit by one of your Drivers. The agent kept me waiting for two weeks. They gave me about half the value for my totalled SUV because it was older but restored. They ignored my repair receipts. They gave me no money for lost work no full rental reimbursement. They wanted to give me $700 for the wreck which still had about $4,000 in brand new parts on it. I am sitting here hungry with my children on New years Eve completely broke until payday next week. Auto Owners insurance doesn't care about people.

Neil Ft: I am a small business owner of a transportation Company for medical patients. I forwarded a bill to Adjuster Kevin Howell out of the Lansing office. Unfortunately I have been assigned to an obviously rogue insurance adjuster who takes his time, does not respond to provider requests through email, and never ever answers the phone. People like this should never be employed with handling responsibilities for patient claims. Honestly people like this shouldnt be employed at all. Im sure Kevin will come up with a grand excuse for not paying, he will say its under investigation just to avoid paying, then we will sue and they think they are going to get away with settling for half of what we billed. Not going to happen this time, I am in the process of filing a grievance with the state of Michigan against Mr Howell and Auto Owners insurance for employing a lazy incompetent employee like this to handle the claims fo people who need their services. These adjusters need to be held responsible personally in a court of law for hindering the progress of people getting their treatments, i bet they wd start payting bills on time then! Ihave filed BBB complaint against Auto Owners and Mr Howell, and if the bill isnt paid we will not settle we will go to trial and we will sue for our bill, interest and our attorney fees. Its time for guys like Kevin to go work at a place where others do not depend on him for importatnt work, maybe like a burger king or something. Worst adjuster I have dealt with in 10 years easily.

Cassandra Sexton: Our Hot Water Heater went out July 2, 2021. At which time we discovered LOTS of mold due to the hot water has been leaking for some time now. We Started an emergency claim with Auto Owners insurance thee same exact day! July 6, 2021 we finally made contact with someone who said they would not be out until July12, 2021 & servpro would not be out until July 13, 2021! 10/11 days with no hot water & all this mold. Servpro came on the date they said, the guy was blown away at how bad this was, & detected more moisture in places we cannot see. & he wants an air quality test done in the house. Kept stressing as to house dangerous this was, especially because I take care of my 91 year old grandmother & my 10 year old daughter who already has asthma. They are now saying they can't do anything about it for another 3 weeks. If this is so dangerous then why are you making us live with this for even longer knowing it could damage our lungs badly or even kill us! It has been two days since they have come & we have been trying to get in contact with them to see what is going on, what is our next step? Noone wants to call us back or let us know what the hell is going on. I didn't want to put this review on here or these pictures but enough is enough, I realize everyone is busy but that is part of running a business! I'm always going to be putting these exact post & pictures as a review for Servpro who deals with the mold aspect of this. Never in my life have I heard of things taking this long in a situation like this. We are almost to the point of consulting with a lawyer because the longer this area is exposed the greater chance we have of this spreading and we lose our whole house because they want to condemn it. Not to mention how sick we could potentially get!
Emily Bitter: Hannah Bennett with Auto Owners Insurance (a Draper, UT representative) is extremely rude, unprofessional, and unresponsive. One of her clients backed into my car in February - I have photo evidence that I've provided - and I need my whole bumper replaced.The client is an old man who claims he did nothing wrong and Hannah talks to me as though I'm trying to take advantage of him. But they're the ones taking advantage of ME! I've provided substantial evidence and a repair quote and now they're completely ignoring me. The repair shop has also been trying to get ahold of her for weeks so I wouldn't have to deal with her anymore, but she's ignoring them as well!I've never dealt with someone who cared less about making things right. Worse insurance experience ever. Avoid these people at all costs.

This is the first time I had an insurance claim. They were so kind and helpful in providing me with the information I needed. Concerned about my well being that I was ok. Followed up with a phone call and email . The processing my claim with my insurance adjuster was similar helpful, kind concerned that I was ok. It was and is a pleasure to do business with an insurance agency that cares about you and does a great job in providing service.
Trevor Swem: Had an open claim on my roof which was about to be replaced. Mike said it wouldn't be a problem and I paid in full. The underwriter then disagreed and said I had 30 days to replace the roof and would otherwise cancel the policy. Roofers were 45 days out. Thanks Mike.
Nicholas: After having a homeowners policy with Mike's office for a decade, I decided to combine my auto insurance and get a better rate. Unfortunately, after setting up the policy, I was informed that the price quote I was given was incorrect, and that there would be an increased cost. This was understandable, however, the increase in price was quoted as three different values, before a fourth amount was actually charged. Speaking to the office provided no help, and we chose to cancel our policy and go to Progressive.This was only the beginning of our 4-month journey to be rid of Farm Bureau, as we continued to be charged for the canceled policy. Each time we were given an apology and promise that the issue had been resolved, only to find that this was not in fact the case the next month. After many back-and-forth conversations with the Farm Bureau billing department, we were told that they agreed that we had not been treated fairly by Mike's office, but that they would have to be the ones who helped make it right.We decided to simply take the final $100 hit, and will never do business with Mike, or Farm Bureau, ever again. Mike has remained unresponsive, despite many requests to his various employees to have him return my call.
