Nick Oliver: My father just went in to this facility. So far, knowing my dad is with people who know and care about him is really uplifting. They had a little welcome sign, balloons, and took time to come say hello. He liked the room, which was very clean and bright. The other residents were very friendly and eager to talk.

Roger Wohlgemuth: My mother in law lived here for nearly three years. She liked it and so did my wife and I. My mother in law was a social person. She looked forward to eating in the dining room and other activities with her friends. She had a weekly hair appointment at the salon. The staff know all the residents and visiting family members too.
Mary Sayers: My mom has been there for 9 months, 8 of which have been in hospice care and bedridden. The American House staff are wonderful. We have been having some issues with the med team responding to her call button as of late. We are being told that the system is not working properly. While its awful to be waiting for more than an hour for someone to clean you up, my sisters and i are fearful that she may need more serious help and waiting over an hour is just not acceptable.

She enjoys the entertainment provided weekly, playing Bingo; which my daughter and I enjoy playing with her on Sundays, and the service of Bonnie the hairdresser. All in all, my mother is healthier since she moved here.

DatDamDanté OFFICIAL: Coming from Atlanta, after a 11 hour drive, this was literally the only hotel that had a room available at 3am. Upon reading the reviews I was very very sketchy. However I got a suite (charged too much for my taste) however no roaches when I turned the lights on, no bed bugs. Bathroom needed to be detailed but outside of that I slept well.

Bathroom door doesn't close right on less you push hard on it. Wifi is really bad. You better off using your hotshot. Lauren Reynolds: The floor was sticky in my room, kitchenette was beat up, there isn’t a power outlet on either side of the bed close enough to charge your phone and still be able to use it from bed, there was at least 8 pieces of hair in my shower, a piece in the sink, a visible hairball on the floor, dust on the lamps, 2 of my 4 towels had hair and makeup stains on them… I know it’s a cheap hotel but you can do much better in this price range. Book somewhere else! To their credit, the bed was comfy and the staff was nice. Breakfast was also just bagged muffins, nature valley bars and instant oatmeal with nothing but hot water to mix with-not really even a continental.

Megan Fogel: Happy Dog Daycare is an amazing daycare facility! I’ve been taking my pup, Laila, here for a couple of months now and she always gets so excited when we pull up to the building. She loves playing with the other dogs and is usually exhausted when I bring her home at the end of the day. I also love being able to watch her on the cameras during work! The owner and staff take incredible care of Laila; it’s obvious that they care about the dogs and their owners. I highly recommend this doggy daycare!
Heather Thuss: Staff is very friendly and care for the dogs so much. I am so glad u started taking my 1 year of husker here. Not only us he worn out by the time I pick him out he has a great time. Love that it is open and the dogs can go outdoors to play. Love that I can see my dog throughout the day to see how he is doing.

John Boyle: What a great place! We've been taking our dog there for several months, and he is always excited to go. When we say "Happy Dog" to him, he heads to the door and is ready to go. They love him and he loves them. Every day we see him on camera playing with his buddies, and every night he comes home exhausted. He was a COVID pup, so he wasn't great around other dogs at first - but being there has really helped him. Jim and his staff know the dogs, and love them.

Brittany Hepner: I can’t say enough good things about Happy Dog, and would give them 10 stars if that was an option. My neighbor wasn’t able to watch our dogs like usual when we went on vacation, and I had never boarded them before. The owner, Jim, made sure that my girls would fit in with their daycare pups a couple times before we boarded them. I was so nervous to leave them with a someone I didn’t know, but Jim put me at ease. He sent me videos and updates while we were gone. My 8 year old pup was able to get away from the other dogs and nap on her bed behind the front desk during the day. They even have cameras on during the day so you can watch them all play. You can tell Jim and his staff love the dogs because I would always see them petting and playing with them on the webcam. Our flight home came in at 12:30am. Jim knew we missed the dogs and that they were ready to go home too. He met my neighbor at my house to drop the dogs off for us so they would be there when we got home. He even called me the next day to check up on them and make sure they were doing ok. I can’t recommend them enough. Happy Dog will be our go-to for boarding in the future, and my pups will be happy to go back to play on some daycare days too.
Sean Williams: I spoke with the owner, he walked me through the process, and answered my questions as well as gave advice and suggestions. We took our dog there, it was a great experience for our dog. I really love the fact that they have cameras to see what's going on, and that the dogs have acess to OUTSIDE FRESH AIR, as well as inside. I also like that, the dogs don't go in kennels. Because of the stimulation, the outside air and socialization, our dog was exhausted and rested well. There hours of operation is great! I really appreciate the service they extend to the customers.
Rob Reid: Not long ago I had an emergency where my wife had to go into surgery. I needed someone to board our wire fox terrier and on very short/ no notice. Having done business with other dog daycares I knew this would be asking for a very big favor and during a super busy time for boarding (spring break). Jim and his team were wonderful and very understanding. They took our dog in immediately. This allowed me to watch over my wife at the hospital without any additional concerns. While we were there, his team would also send video and updates on her to let us know she was doing well. And by the way, she had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back. We will always be grateful for Happy Dog Daycare, and how they took great care of us during such a stressful moment.

Celia Jackson: Can’t say enough good stuff about Happy Dog. Our two dogs have been going there for boarding since the fall of 2020. We travel a LOT and probably board them twice a month on average. It’s a no frills place but it's perfect for our no frills dogs. They absolutely love the Happy Dog staff and hanging out with all the other dogs, and we love watching them on the live cams during the week! The live cams were the reason we first tried them out, and the friendly, family vibes keep us there. They especially do a great job screening the dogs and making sure everyone gets along. Highly recommended!

I had toured the facility beforehand & was very impressed with the wide-open spaces, the accessibility of the indoor/outdoor areas for the dogs, the cleanliness & organization, & of course, with the attentive caregivers. Forrest is a very active, high energy, sometimes high anxiety dog & I love their approach to boarding/daycare- minimal time in the kennels! Ultimately, we decided to board him @ Happy Dog & moved him from previously staying at a different boarding place. During Forrest’s stay, I communicated with the owner several times- he responded quickly & with great care. After 6 days @ Happy Dog, Forrest came home very happy & very tired, which says a lot for him! We will be bringing him back to Happy Dog in the future! :) Thank You!

Carol Soulard: I was very impressed with the facility , as well as with the friendly staff that works there. Todd Schuver, the Community Relations Director, took time to listen to my needs and was very thorough in answering my questions. The tour was extensive in covering the various apartments that are available as well as the amenities that are offered. Although I haven't made a decision at this time, American House Sterling Woods is definitely on my list of possibilities.
Destinee Doutry: Searching for the right place for my grandparents was overwhelming to say the least, after leaving we knew this was the place that would be perfect for them. Into American House, Sterlingwoods, and I have to say Todd and all the staff their have gone way out of there way to make the change for my mom as painlessly possible, Todd even helped my mom find her cat in her apt. Cheryl Neme: We’ve recently moved my 93 year old mother with memory issues into American House Sterling Woods. Todd made her feel so welcome and provided sincere empathy with her as she was very nervous and emotional about it. Now she gives him a big hug when she sees him as they have become well acquainted. He even took the time to help her find her cat in her apartment. The food is good and Jennifer makes sure you are set up with everything you need and takes time to offer kind words and a smile. The residents we’ve encountered are all friendly and welcoming. We thought mom might have a tough time, but everyone is so kind and patient with her memory issues, it has been a non-issue instead. Thank you to American House staff who has made her transition easy. I would definitely recommend your facility to others.

Karen White: Karen WhiteMy siblings and I recently moved my mother (93 yrs old) into American House Sterling Woods. Physically, she’s healthy, but suffers with dementia. So you can imagine how confusing and scary this was for her!! The staff has made her feel sooo welcome there!! I wish I could mention everyone’s name but don’t know them all yet. But two people that stand out is Todd (Manager) and Jennifer (dining room). They are outstanding!! My mom may not remember there name, but I can tell you she gets a big smile on her face when she sees them!! The residents there are also very welcoming to newcomers. They have regular daily activities, entertainment, church, etc. Thank you American House for helping our mom feel so welcome at her new home!!!

They were right! She had a great meal and had wonderful conversations. After looking at the apartment that Todd believed was a perfect match for her, she was ready to move in. On the way home she told me to message Todd and let him know she was going to move in. She said it just felt like home. My mom was concerned about leaving her home of 45 years, especially so soon after my dad had passed, but after the tour she began to get excited about her next chapter.My mom has been at Sterling Woods for almost a month now. She has found a group of ladies and they already seems inseparable. They craft together, play Bingo, share knitting patterns and ideas, and just laugh together.For the first 2 weeks my mom kept saying I'm so happy here. Which of course made me cry knowing she was going to be ok.The staff is caring and attentive. They call my mom to see if she is coming to Bingo, they know she likes it but sometimes falls asleep.The hallways, dining room and apartments are always clean and smell good.I am so happy I found this wonderful community and the fact that I live a half of a mile away from her now is a big bonus.

We had lunch and the food was nicely done. I would not hesitate to put anyone I loved in this facility, place is kept nice and it was very clean.

Jennifer Paine: The facility staff for AH itself is GREAT!! However, the company that provides the care, AdvisaCare is absolutely terrible!!!!! We have to call at least weekly to the Care Manager due to the care staff not answering the call button, phone calls, not showing up for scheduled care, not doing the care they are being paid for, etc.
Donna Cooper: American House would be fine other than the fact that they have Advisa Care providing assistance to the residents. There is a great deal of confusion and the staff is unprofessional and under trained. Completely unreliable and rude. Not all but far too many. If your loved ones do not need assistance than it's fine. If they do need assistance you are rolling the dice. Again American House is fine using Advisa Care is the downfall

He is rude and unapologetic. It’s a miracle that the rest of the staff is so terrific, because they do not take ages their management.

I am in the facility every week and see the care provided but facility management says it isn't their responsibility.The email was sent to the VP of Operations. The lack of response from her illustrates my point.
ken hicks: My dad has been a resident of Sterling Meadows since June 2021. This was a very important move for him, and one that he would not have been unable to consider had it not been for the help of the staff at Sterling Meadows. They were able to refer us to someone that provided assistance in dad's application for much needed and deserved benefits from the VA. Those benefits in turn afforded dad the opportunity to make an independent decision to move into Sterling Meadows where he could continue to live independently, but employ services as his needs indicated. All of the staff, from the director to the maintenance technician and everywhere in between, is helpful and courteous. Dad just went through a bit of a crisis which dictated a need for a higher level of services. Michele, at Sterling Meadows, was able to provide resources and information that gave us an opportunity to make the decision to move dad to American House Freedom Place. We are very grateful for all the help we've received. Thank you!

Would I want to spend my possibly last Golden Days paying my considerably high rent from my life savings being told to stay in like a prisoner or would I rather go out take my chances and observe the rules of Covid-19 like everyone else? I'd rather take the latter.Another question. Would I be entitled to a 30% discount on my rent for the months I was held captive not entitled to any outing services, including just going out period, no activities, exercise or dining room privileges. It seems this company should be adjusting rent accordingly and then reporting their loss to the government for reimbursement as a tax loss right-off.During the virus scare there have been tight restrictions on these residents, their visitors and staff and that's understandable and done right but there is also a lot of tension and abrupt rudeness and dispensing of fond greetings by at least one of the office staff who has been there for quite a while. Some of the residents have been shunned from coming out of their rooms and been threatened with having to leave and find another place to live if they don't. These people deserve the utmost compassion in their golden years and the present situation and they are paying thousands per month to be treated this way. It has got to stop. Also with less visitors coming in, there have been some items coming up missing, even food and snack items. When it improves I'll update my review.
Ellie Halatsis: The staff at American House - Sterling, Schoenherr N of 14 mile, is exceptional. The big Kahuna, Todd, is very responsive to his residents needs and he and his staff do their very best to accommodate any specific requests (within reason and within the scope of the teams authority, of course). The medical team is an added bonus and though timing is everything, they do a good job of keeping the residents comfortable and well cared for. It is my honor to recommend this location to anyone in need of some extra help with the everyday living. And don't forget, you can be as busy here as you like. Or not. Plenty to do everyday if you want to stay active. Great job!

RK Omo: We were power outage refugees our little chihuahua and our elderly mother both have serious health issues so sitting in a house with no power was not an option. Staybridge was great the room was spacious and clean the kitchenette with a big microwave and big fridge were great. All of the staff were wonderful from the front desk to the breakfast bar personnel and the room maid. And our little chihuahua was comfortable in the room and on the grounds. Thank you to all for making a challenging situation a lot less stressful.
SLH: Normally I don’t post negative reviews of businesses, but this one needs to be addressed! I wanted to book my mom in a hotel, she’s 80 and lost power to the ice storm. Her basement is flooded and she was in a house of 55 degrees. I called the Staybridge Suites in Sterling Heights. This is what I found most very disturbing. The hotel itself had rooms it was not booked and I wanted to get her out of the cold right away. They were going to charge me a rate for the room and $75 for early check-in. Check in wasn’t till 3 o’clock and the hotel was not full. What kind of a business is this that lets people freeze or charge them extra money because they are desperate. This needs to go viral in this hotel, I’ll never get my business again !Your response was clearly inhumane as I read your reply. You basically took advantage of a horrendous situation to make money! Many other hotels took people in early and did not charge any fees at all! Your hotel was not even full when I called, therefore, your deductive reasoning clearly contradicts what you wrote! The room was available and needed no maid service.,Maybe you should think about this next time your loved one needs help and some cruel person wants to make money off of your situation. I can name at least ten hotels who accepted cold people into their hotel! It’s called price gauging and I hope the attorney general will take action. In the meantime, my circle of friends and family is rather large and will not solicit your hotel ever!

But if you’re looking for EXTRA fresh clean towels you probably won’t get them or you’ll be treated soo poorly you’ll regret you asked for anything!No towels were stocked in the pool area and when I used my room towels for the SIX girls I had with me due to that I was told I should’ve told them there weren’t any towels in the pool area even though that’s NOT MY JOB. I was a guest! I used to work for the hotel right next door right so I figured the stay would be alright cause they’re both kinda ran one in the same even though one is Marriott and one is Hilton (same owners) just an fyi! So I asked another shift for towels and the previous shift MUST of told her not to give us any for whatever reason! So here’s my thoughts when I mentioned I was there for my daughters birthday the black bald lady named MIMI said oh we don’t do birthday parties. So I said I’m not having a party we already had the party I just came to stay to let the girls swim. I got TWO rooms she only gave me 5 wristbands and said I wasn’t allowed anymore, but in fact I was actually suppose to get at LEAST 5 more because I paid for TWO ROOMS. I SPENT OVER $400 here and that’s how me and my family were treated. Night shift black lady Pamela ALSO VERY RUDE! refused to give towels. I even spoke to the GM Gail (who I was acquainted with from the other hotel). She blew off my complaint and concern like it was nothing which I wasn’t in total shock because she was super lazy working at the other hotel as well! Looks like they already went through 1 GM all I’m saying is BEWARE! They don’t care about accommodating you or taking responsibility for the faces of their hotel! Find somewhere else to stay! I promise you may regret it! So I never got extra towels and I was NEVER able to shower during my stay! Oh and also I was threatened with the police just for constantly asking for towels as well. Smh!

The bathroom shower was gorgeous and there was a "vanity" type area that I wish I had in my own house lol was a little disappointed leaving this morning because I wanted to take it with me.Even though there was a full kitchen in the room, they still offer breakfast in the morning.. However, it is on the weaker end of hotel breakfast from the numerous other hotels in the area I have stayed at recently. When I arrived, the front desk receptionist was sitting in the corner on her cell phone and didn't even notice I was standing there for almost three full minutes, until another customer walked up behind me and said something. Once she did get up to help me she just kind of shoved my room key at at me with no instructions of where to go or find things, no eye contact or niceties whatsoever - definitely made me feel like I was interrupting her.For a new property the room was not in great condition - light fixture in the kitchen was broken, toilet seat was crooked and loose, water spots on the ceiling and an awful smell of mildew in the bathroom/closet area on the carpet. The housekeeping job was subpar also - lotion bottle in my bathroom was half used and not replaced, there were crumbs all over the barstools, and the "do not disturb" sign was missing - I had to go downstairs and get one myself and take it back up to hang on my door.I was hoping I had found my new "go to" hotel when I came home to visit family but unfortunately, this probably is not it.
Leslie Clink: Stayed 2-6-23 through 2-10-23. Pool was closed the entire time, no employees knew exactly why or when it would re open. Younger clerk at night time was no where to be found that Thursday night, we waited downstairs for 20 minutes needing toilet paper & an extra blanket, she left to “make coffee” in the kitchen area with 2 other guys that were not staff & did not come back out. Went back upstairs since it was now kids bed time. Called downstairs over & over for the next hour, she never picked up. Went back down there an hour later. Still not at the desk, ended up taking toilet paper from their public restroom. Breakfast was not the best considering the price you pay for a room, not many options. Positive, Room was very nice & the maid staff was super friendly & kind.

There were two staff members cleaning and restocking the whole time I was eating. The hotel itself is brand new and very clean and spacious. I love the layout of the room.
