Lauren Reynolds: The floor was sticky in my room, kitchenette was beat up, there isn’t a power outlet on either side of the bed close enough to charge your phone and still be able to use it from bed, there was at least 8 pieces of hair in my shower, a piece in the sink, a visible hairball on the floor, dust on the lamps, 2 of my 4 towels had hair and makeup stains on them… I know it’s a cheap hotel but you can do much better in this price range. Book somewhere else! To their credit, the bed was comfy and the staff was nice. Breakfast was also just bagged muffins, nature valley bars and instant oatmeal with nothing but hot water to mix with-not really even a continental.

Tiffany Ann: I was charged for a “no partying” policy by this establishment because I had a few balloons and a happy birthday banner. Mind you this was for a 3 YEAR OLD. Also there were only three adults in attendance. I also let the woman at front desk know upon check in. She said that was fine. I spoke to the GM and she was absolutely rude and had a very condescending tone the entire time. Would literally cut me off while I was speaking. I would also like to add that the staff at the front desk throughout my stay was horrible too. This entire place is a joke. They are acting as if this was an actual birthday party. It was a small thing to celebrate my miracle child and I’m being charged. People like this are cruel and disgusting. As a Hilton member I am dissatisfied.

It took us forever to check in The front desk did not know how to explain the shared room the owner supposedly locked no more shared room one thing the rooms were very very dirty no. Shampoos for couple people at all tissues were empty. No one cleared the room the next day even though we tell them we have our own rules that's the answer they give us. Tim Christian: The hotel was unable to understand that the booking service had already paid for the stay. Had to pay twice then get refunded once they were able to figure it out. A minor inconvenience but the employee was very rude and short with me about it. This also seemed like an unsafe place with all sorts of warning signs about them not being responsible if your car gets trashed vandalized or stolen. The breakfast was good.

Kim Mittelsted: Bathroom filthy! Very dirty through out the room. Furniture all beat up. Likely 20+ years old. I’ve never experienced this filthy of a place at a Hilton. Not Hilton quality, by far!! Kids running and yelling in the halls until late at night and people above us allowing their kids to jump off the beds for hours. Reported to the front desk, but nothing was done. marvin guiger: Well to start off our room was okay at first, then we noticed the carpet and tile floor had not been cleaned there are crumbs and papers and misc stuff on the floor. Probably going to be here for the next people. Could have been cleaner by far. The tub looked like it had blood in it. We had to ask for new sheets due to the fact the pull out bed sheets had pee stains/ dots of blood and hair on them. They tried to charge us $10 per person for wristbands after after 4 people to use the pool. We had 4 kids and 2 parents. Which is nuts. We will never come back here.

Mr. Badri: If You anyone is traveling to Sterling Heights MI, there are many hotels, do not stay here. The customer service is horrible. The manager Amber has no people skills and knowledge on how to deal with customer service. My son who has cerebral palsy, went swimming and puked in the pool. No one told me anything about a charge. My deposit was refunded and I left the hotel. Later that day I see a charge on my visa. When I called, the staff were shocked and couldn't believe that the manager had charged me for the incident. When I spoke to Amber she told me she "spend thousands of dollars to drain the water and hundreds of dollars to clean the pool ". Than when mentioning my son has a disability, she got frustrated and before hanging up the phone, She said my boy shouldn't have been in there if "he was sick or not feeling well". She used my son's disability as a sickness. To me this is unacceptable and I need an apology.I recorded the phone conversation and will attach it with a link to YouTube on here in a few days unless they refund my money.Don't stay here, they are not welcoming and inclusive. Charging because a kid puked in the pool.

RK Omo: We were power outage refugees our little chihuahua and our elderly mother both have serious health issues so sitting in a house with no power was not an option. Staybridge was great the room was spacious and clean the kitchenette with a big microwave and big fridge were great. All of the staff were wonderful from the front desk to the breakfast bar personnel and the room maid. And our little chihuahua was comfortable in the room and on the grounds. Thank you to all for making a challenging situation a lot less stressful.
SLH: Normally I don’t post negative reviews of businesses, but this one needs to be addressed! I wanted to book my mom in a hotel, she’s 80 and lost power to the ice storm. Her basement is flooded and she was in a house of 55 degrees. I called the Staybridge Suites in Sterling Heights. This is what I found most very disturbing. The hotel itself had rooms it was not booked and I wanted to get her out of the cold right away. They were going to charge me a rate for the room and $75 for early check-in. Check in wasn’t till 3 o’clock and the hotel was not full. What kind of a business is this that lets people freeze or charge them extra money because they are desperate. This needs to go viral in this hotel, I’ll never get my business again !Your response was clearly inhumane as I read your reply. You basically took advantage of a horrendous situation to make money! Many other hotels took people in early and did not charge any fees at all! Your hotel was not even full when I called, therefore, your deductive reasoning clearly contradicts what you wrote! The room was available and needed no maid service.,Maybe you should think about this next time your loved one needs help and some cruel person wants to make money off of your situation. I can name at least ten hotels who accepted cold people into their hotel! It’s called price gauging and I hope the attorney general will take action. In the meantime, my circle of friends and family is rather large and will not solicit your hotel ever!

I checked in the 9th of december 2022, and the 10th i went for breakfast and i requested my right to depart at 4pm, i am entitled by MARRIOTT terms and conditions that TITANIUM members have COMPULSORY 4pm check out ( except convention center and resorts but towneplace is not one of these) and she said because i didnt informed them the previous day they cant guve me any late check out because they have a group of people and they need to clean the room, i requested for the manager ( first shift) and she said she was the manager ( i dont know her name, nobody has a tag on their shirt, pretty unprofessional) and now they cant manage it, i discussed for 5 minutes saying that it s compulsory and im so sorry but i need to leave the room at 4pm. She said that she has the policies printed at the back and she refuses to give me late check out. I said i will call Marriott, she replied, i dont care, I called Marriott Loyalty team from titanium members, and they called her... 5 minutes later they said they can give me 3pm check out. Do u see how u care now? Do i have to threaten u to call Marriott and u accept late check out when they force u only? Rude, unprofessional and horrible service. If she is really an assistant manager or shift manager you guys seriously think twice how you manage your hotel because it s not acceptable to be playing games and threaten to call loyalty team to do what she needed to do from the beginning. Cami Wright: We stay with Marriott often due to work and relocations. This property has been the worst hotel we've ever stayed at!! Upon arrival we noticed the pool was closed even though it states that it is open on the website. Maintenance told us that it hasn't worked all season due to not being winterized properly last year. As we approached our room the halls and room itself smelled of an odor that we were unable to identify. It was a combination of a dirty gym sock and sweaty bodies. The room was dingy and dirty everywhere we looked. The carpets and furniture are stained. The bedding, which I'm convinced was not changed between guests, was filthy!! Blue paint stains and dirty edges are on the comforters. The toilet wouldn't flush and the tank wouldn't fill with water. We were having to use a pot to fill the tank to flush the toilet. Trying to get hot water to our room was a joke! We had to leave the water on for 15 minutes to get luke warm water for showering. We informed the front desk of all the issues over and over. The response from the front desk was that "due to covid we haven't been able to maintain our property the way we would like." There isn't a manager or maintenence on the grounds after 5pm. There is only one employee who's attitude about things was, oh well...so sorry this happened but there isn't anything I can do for you tonight.This is unacceptable on every level!!! Don't operate a hotel if you can't maintain it.

Stephanie Gridley: After messing up our clearly communicated request for two adjoining rooms to accommodate my large family (to celebrate my daughter's birthday nonetheless), and having their front desk agent assure my husband we would not be charged for the rooms they gave us, we were indeed charged for rooms we never set foot in. Going on three weeks and they still have not refunded our money. They ruined my daughters birthday and charged us $400 to do so. Power never came on , I had my 1 week old baby wrapped in 5 blankets and had to feed and change diapers in the dark. Was told at check out I would get refund. They charged me full price and the GM is ignoring all my calls and the front desk staff (Tracy)will yell over the phone when I call.

Patricia Manistee: Yesterday the maintenance guy walked in to hang a price increase. sign (over $100 more). He drilled it in the door. He came in when I was getting dress. I tried to use the room phone to complain to the office only to find out it didn't work. I used my cell. The months Ive been here no room service. I cleaned the room myself. The TV has 2 channels. It needs a password. I have seen roaches and bought roach spray. There is mold and holes in the plaster. I keep tripping on the floor where it needs to be fixed. Then they want $450 + taxes a week

Breakfast was well tended yet pretty basic. The room was very quiet and the bed very comfortable. Plenty of parking and very cose to everything you need. Has to be one of the best hotels in the area.Rooms: Very clean and updated. Plenty of USB charging ports. My room was very quiet and bed was very comfortable.
T Hunter: Late night employee wouldn’t open the door for me until he checked in a guest. Made me wait 15 minutes at midnight with my luggage. After I was allowed into the hotel in the middle of checking me in he told me that since I went through a third party to check in they I wasn’t even a true IHG customer. I asked why I wasn’t let in after ringing the bell. He said because he had been a front desk clerk for 4 years at the hotel so he runs it the way he wants. When I asked his name and could I get a business card. He instead offered his phone number and said his name was “black” He began to text me throughout the night and offered me free snacks and a room. Later “Black” told me that he assumed I wanted a room to have a party. I definitely felt profiled on this visit. The employee continued to text and flirt with me several days after checkout for some reason. The hotel has never reached out to me regarding the complaint, nor issued and apology for the inexcusable treatment.

No hot water, no lights, no working outlets, and not even a functioning heater. We decided to stay because we were told that we would likely receive compensation for the rooms barely functioning.We were still charged full price and when we tried to contact the manager he was extremely hostile and refused to give us more than $50 for two nights. Concierge staff was lovely and patient, but management is running a scam. Avoid at all costs.

In the night, we discovered that there were bugs in our bed. We weren't sure if they were bedbugs or not, but it is clear now as my arms are covered in bites. I used to work for the hotel right next door right so I figured the stay would be alright cause they’re both kinda ran one in the same even though one is Marriott and one is Hilton (same owners) just an fyi! So I asked another shift for towels and the previous shift MUST of told her not to give us any for whatever reason! So here’s my thoughts when I mentioned I was there for my daughters birthday the black bald lady named MIMI said oh we don’t do birthday parties. So I said I’m not having a party we already had the party I just came to stay to let the girls swim. I got TWO rooms she only gave me 5 wristbands and said I wasn’t allowed anymore, but in fact I was actually suppose to get at LEAST 5 more because I paid for TWO ROOMS. I SPENT OVER $400 here and that’s how me and my family were treated. Night shift black lady Pamela ALSO VERY RUDE! refused to give towels. I even spoke to the GM Gail (who I was acquainted with from the other hotel). She blew off my complaint and concern like it was nothing which I wasn’t in total shock because she was super lazy working at the other hotel as well! Looks like they already went through 1 GM all I’m saying is BEWARE! They don’t care about accommodating you or taking responsibility for the faces of their hotel! Find somewhere else to stay! I promise you may regret it! So I never got extra towels and I was NEVER able to shower during my stay! Oh and also I was threatened with the police just for constantly asking for towels as well. Rachel Homberger: The location is great for me and I was happy to finally see a hotel in this area for when I come home to visit family and friends. I was disappointed with the stay overall though. When I arrived, the front desk receptionist was sitting in the corner on her cell phone and didn't even notice I was standing there for almost three full minutes, until another customer walked up behind me and said something. Once she did get up to help me she just kind of shoved my room key at at me with no instructions of where to go or find things, no eye contact or niceties whatsoever - definitely made me feel like I was interrupting her.For a new property the room was not in great condition - light fixture in the kitchen was broken, toilet seat was crooked and loose, water spots on the ceiling and an awful smell of mildew in the bathroom/closet area on the carpet. The housekeeping job was subpar also - lotion bottle in my bathroom was half used and not replaced, there were crumbs all over the barstools, and the "do not disturb" sign was missing - I had to go downstairs and get one myself and take it back up to hang on my door.I was hoping I had found my new "go to" hotel when I came home to visit family but unfortunately, this probably is not it.
Leslie Clink: Stayed 2-6-23 through 2-10-23. Pool was closed the entire time, no employees knew exactly why or when it would re open. Younger clerk at night time was no where to be found that Thursday night, we waited downstairs for 20 minutes needing toilet paper & an extra blanket, she left to “make coffee” in the kitchen area with 2 other guys that were not staff & did not come back out. Went back upstairs since it was now kids bed time. Called downstairs over & over for the next hour, she never picked up. Went back down there an hour later. Still not at the desk, ended up taking toilet paper from their public restroom. Breakfast was not the best considering the price you pay for a room, not many options. Positive, Room was very nice & the maid staff was super friendly & kind.
