Dominic Poster: The salesman Eric B is who i dealt with on the phone to place my order. He helped me find the part i was looking for, which most places dont carry or can get. He did an excellent job, and got me the part fast. The counter people were also very nice and cordial. The store itself is off an industrial drive so its not very easy to find. The counter in the back had lots of electrician tools and hardware displayed. I was very happy with my experience and would recommend them for electricians who need to the right stuff to get the job done.

Bill Fisher Google guide level seven: 5 well it never fails I go in the store after store looking for something that jumps out at me and it seems to only happen at Ray's they have such Elegant Lighting even for the garage the people there are very knowledgeable I am very happy with the lighting that I bought there today I bought my garage lights there like 3 years ago and I finally installed them very happy with all the products that I buy from Ray's it's a beautiful store if you can't find it there you're not going to be able to find it so save yourself some time and effort and go over to Hall Road and go in the race and look around Bill Fisher Google guide level 7

Carla: I went here with my husband on 04/21/2022. We are a professional African-American couple. We walked in the store and was not acknowledged. There were at least 4 employees in the store. There were no other customers in the store. No one greeted us. We walked around the entire store without anyone asking us if we needed assistance. We walked out. They are very unprofessional and I believe that they are racist. I refuse to spend one penny in that store. I was prepared to buy $20,000 worth of chandeliers. Please do not judge me based on the color of my skin. I was dressed very professional and driving a $125,000 sports car.

TM E: Went a long distance to get to this store on Friday Afternoon at 3:00 and both my husband and I were never greeted or approached during the 35 minutes inside! There were 2-3 employees and there was only one other customer but we were amazed by the lack of service. I would not bother with this store as the displays were not in abundance and the lack of service was a huge negative. I did get great service at another store called Pine Tree Lighting, which made my trip worthwhile.

Lauren Hutchins: I was shopping for a very specific brand and style of fan for a couple of weeks online. It was out of stock for 6+ months everywhereI decided to give Ray’s a shot. Sales staff and customer service was amazing! I was able to order the exact fan I was looking for online. Even though it was out of stock for them and everywhere else, it arrived within a month. Pricing was slightly cheaper than online. Will be going to them for all future fan and lighting purchases

Have all the measurements in hand, just needed price for materials. Said they wouldn't be able to give me a quote for 3 days after wasting 15 minutes on the phone. Zero people skills, avoid this location. They show absolutely no interest in taking your money.

Sharon Gabrian: If I could leave 0 stars I could. We have had nothing but a run around since March of this year. We ordered 3 lights for our newly renovated kitchen. We were told 3 weeks for the lights. Then when that passed we were told 10 more days. Then May 15. Then we stopped there in June and we were told for sure on July 2nd. They did not call us. We called again and we were told that they came in the wrong finish. We asked for our money back and were told they would be in by today, August 6th. My husband drove all the way out there (about 20 miles for us) and he was told they were in the building and to give them 15 minutes to "check them in". He said he would leave and run an errand and return in 15 minutes. He was then told that they never said 15 minutes, it would at least be 1 1/2 hours. He had to leave without the lights. We're having company arriving tomorrow and NO LIGHTS. This company has terrible customer service. We're obviously upset that we've been waiting since March and all we get are lies.

C D: I needed to find a couple new light fixtures quickly so didn’t have time to order. The Novi and Troy stores were friendly and accommodating. I did not have the same experience at this location. The Novi sales person said if there is anything that I see that I like and it is not in stock, they will gladly sell the display. It turned out that one of the items in the color that I needed was on display at the Sterling store, so I had to go there to get it. The transaction was pre-approved and I paid for it before I got there. The Sterling sales person came out already agitated from what we else was going on in the day declaring that she needed to get out there for 20 minutes for a break. She treated me as more of a nuisance than a paying customer. She indicated that normally items have to be ordered (even though they have some things in stock) and they don’t like to sell displays because it takes 2 weeks to replace them, so I am lucky I got the one I got; I only got it because somebody was new and didn’t know and approved it. Strange, considering the Novi store was so accommodating and willing to sell any in stock items or displays (which btw, are easy to take down). I looked at some other fixtures and purchased a new boxed one that had to be picked up in Novi. I would have also bought another fixture there that was on display, but I got it from the Novi store instead. Overall, that is not the treatment I would expect at any retail store regardless of my situation and I would not return to this location.

Connie Bellman: I ordered a light on 3/10/21 and the packing slip shows it was printed on 4/6/21. I called today, 8/24/21 to find out how to return the light because now that the construction is finally done on the room, we determined that the light is too large for the space. I explained that we had trouble with contractors coming to finish the work and it took months longer than it was supposed to. The woman on the phone said the light can not be returned and cited a 60 day return policy. I asked if an exception could be ade because it is very common knowledge that covid has delayed everything as far as contractors go and the light is still wrapped in plastic and in the original packaging and box. I also asked how I was supposed to know about this 60 day policy becuase the packing slip does not indicate this. The statement about returns says, "Return eligibility is at the discretion of Lighting Supply and is subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% of the purchase price and any freight costs." It appears that they just don't allow for returns no matter what. Terrible service especially in times like this. Buyer beware!! Even Home Depot is accepting returns for 6 months from the date of purchase due to the back log for contractors.It's bad enough we've had our home torn apart for this long, now we can't even recover the money from this light to buy one that will fit where we want it.

Constance King: I bought a spiral light bulb in December 2019. I called an electrician when on/off switch stopped working. Electrician determined bulb was not good. I called to request a refund and was told there is a 60 day return policy. Regardless of return policy a light bulb should last longer than 8 months!

ted moosman: Unethical, shady practices. Yesterday I found Atlas PFL126LED light for good price on their website at ~$380 apiece. I called them and ordered 8. They took credit card info and confirmed order was placed. I never saw a email receipt so I call them today. They say a "security check" on my card failed and indicated it was declined and only way to continue with the order was a wire transfer. They say you can still place the same order. I tell them to send me wire instructions and I will do that. They seemed surprised but sent instructions along with an updated quote - not expected - with a price over $100 more apiece than less than 24 hours ago. They told me original quote and price was still good on the phone. So I check website and suddenly it has the price at over $100 apiece also. So I checked with my credit card company and they never attempted any transactions let alone decline any. They are flat out lying to get out of honoring price and sale, and well as manipulating the purchase process. I will be doing a BBB compliant.
