Jeni Barg: Finding a trustworthy senior community offering some assisted living for my 80 year old Mom has been a daunting task to say the least. Finding a place that will care for my mom with love and compassion has been difficult. I was beginning to lose hope. From the moment my Mom and I stepped into Pine Ridge of Hayes for our tour with Skyler, we were impressed. The best way I can describe it is that it just feels like “home”. We moved her in recently and have not doubted the decision whatsoever. The ENTIRE staff is beyond friendly and you can just tell that they all do their jobs from the heart. I can rest easy knowing my Mom is in good hands and that feeling is EVERYTHING!

Kathy D: My mom is a resident at Pine Valley. We had to find living arrangements for her with little notice due to a health issue. She chose Pine Ridge because of location & the screened in patio was very attractive to her. She wasn’t thrilled not to be able to return to her home but she agreed to give it a try for a year with the agreement that if she didn’t like it, I would start looking for a home that we could both live in & have her out in a year. She loves living at Pine Ridge. Every Friday she sends me a pic of the wine that’s offered at dinner. Funny thing is she was never a drinker. Now she likes her Friday glass of wine. She’s never complained once about anything. She wasn’t feeling well one day, they called 911, called me to let me know & when she didn’t return the next day they called me to see how she was doing & asked if I needed anything. There have been a few times she needed help with bathing, medication & things like that. They have staff on site that are available to help her if I can’t. Most important is that she loves it. I appreciate the service they provide. They care about their residents. If an issue arises it handled & I’m notified. My mom is happy living there & that makes me happy.
Caitlin Kelly: I started working at Pine rige 4years ago I started out as 1 of their dishwashers,but as time went on I got to learn how to be A server with help from the other server staff teaching me,then I got to learn some of the other job & I have to say that the workes here for simply amazing & deadacade to there jobs I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for A job to join are team

Jacqueline Campo: My mom is doing very well at Pine Ridge. She came in there almost a year ago and could barely walk, she had therapy at pine ridge and eats very great gourmet food every day, she is now walking miles every day-doing fantastic! The people there are very caring, they treat the residents like family. I am very very pleased with Pine Ridge❤️!

With tons of great activities from outings to indoor activities such as bingo 3 times a week to contests and crafts! We are able to invite our families to many of our in-house activities! William Wolfgang: My parents moved here 3 1/2 years ago. They were here for 3 months and then my father passed. But he was happy here. This place really helped him while he was here. The staff is fantastic. After my father passed my mother did not want to leave. She moved to a 1 bedroom apartment and is happy here, living like a queen because she doesn’t have to cook, clean , or do laundry! If you move here I’m sure she’ll track you down and make you feel like you belong!

Nick Oliver: My father just went in to this facility. So far, knowing my dad is with people who know and care about him is really uplifting. They had a little welcome sign, balloons, and took time to come say hello. He liked the room, which was very clean and bright. The other residents were very friendly and eager to talk.

Roger Wohlgemuth: My mother in law lived here for nearly three years. She liked it and so did my wife and I. My mother in law was a social person. She looked forward to eating in the dining room and other activities with her friends. She had a weekly hair appointment at the salon. The staff know all the residents and visiting family members too.
Mary Sayers: My mom has been there for 9 months, 8 of which have been in hospice care and bedridden. The American House staff are wonderful. We have been having some issues with the med team responding to her call button as of late. We are being told that the system is not working properly. While its awful to be waiting for more than an hour for someone to clean you up, my sisters and i are fearful that she may need more serious help and waiting over an hour is just not acceptable.

She enjoys the entertainment provided weekly, playing Bingo; which my daughter and I enjoy playing with her on Sundays, and the service of Bonnie the hairdresser. Everyday life was becoming a struggle for them and we feel like we got them into their new home just in time. We consider them our new friends as well! We are looking forward to many years of support, safety, and fun at Oakmont Sterling for our parents.
Steve Romund: Having Mom move in and live at Oakmont Sterling Senior Community is the best decision we have made. Mom was adamant on continuing to be independent despite the risks and loneliness. That has changed in the short time Mom has lived at Oakmont Sterling in a large part due to caring environment created by the entire staff at Oakmont, as well as the social/caring environment and support network of the residents. The building is well maintained and kept very clean. Mom's eating much better than before with Meals varying so there is something always there for her to like. There are lots of activities ranging from exercise, Bingo, music concerts, etc. thru out the week/month to help keep Mom active. Also there are add-on services based on needs (escort to meals/activities/on-site Hair Salon, shower or medication assistance - through the on-site ACE Homecare Network). Not only is my mother a resident, but my mother-in-law as well. The senior living environment/experience has been very positive and beneficial for my mother-in-law as well. A BIG THANKYOU to Claudia and the Staff at Oakmont Sterling for the kindness and caring, and lastly a shout out to the great, kind, caring residents who actively made Mom feel welcomed and at home.

Michael Giano: Moved a family member into Oakmont on October 28, the building is beautifully maintained and immaculate. Every staff member was gracious and went out of their way to make our family feel welcome. Residents, as well, were very welcoming and when asked all enjoyed living at Oakmont. There are lots of places to sit and chat, play games, use a computer, and there is even a movie theater. What a wonderful new home for my sister.

Cheryl Bertucci: For a year we tried everything possible to get my mother in law to move into Oakmont Sterling Heights Assisted living, just this past March we were finally able to convince her it was time. She surprised us when she told us she already knew all about the place, one of her close friends had lived their.She knew Oakmont had great food and was beautiful.From the day we moved her in the entire staff couldn’t have being any nicer, welcoming her like a long lost loved one. Anything she ever needed was taken care of by the entire staff and she made friends very quickly with her new neighbors. I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of the staff who helped us with her care, she enjoyed every minute. She passed on June 4th quicker than we expected but we knew her last few months were exceptional at Oakmont Assisted Living!If your looking for a beautiful safe place for your loved one you will never regret moving them in.

From the care that Mary and Louisa have expressed and each staff member checking in on their health my entire family had a great experience. barkerrd: I moved in on November 1, 2019. After looking at several other facilities, I felt the Oakmont was the best. It is clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is very good as are the servers. I believe I made the right choice. That is until the virus hit. The the place was locked down. Residents were allowed out twenty minutes a day. For Mother's Day no family was allowed even outside and residents were locked in. Gym, ;library, puzzle room were closed. Residents were expected to stay in their apartments. Food was delivered. The quality went steadily down. Orders were wrong, spilled into the plastic bag. The staff went home regularly. They could have easily been infected while they were out. They7 claimed they only went home but they also went shopping. After a while resident became emotionally distraught. Some left to live with families. Given that this was a very unusual time some of the rules were for the convenience of the staff. I was threatened with eviction if I stayed out past the time allowed. I rented an apartment sight unseen to get out of jail.
Cara Middleton: For the past 15 years, our now 102 year old, dear family friend has lived at Oakmont Sterling. Without children and family nearby, the Oakmont community has been an integral part her family. Her church friends have visited regularly over the years. My parents initially explored Oakmont with Agnes and helped her make the decision to move here from her single family home after her husband passed in 2000.Agnes has enjoyed the living quarters, activities and the camaraderie she has experienced at Oakmont. Beth, the director always makes time to stop, talk and/or sing a jingle with Agnes. Jodi, the activities director, has highlighted the time for Agnes.The fear and anxiety surrounding the dangers of COVID touching a senior living community was such a challenge to properly manage. We have all experienced so much uncertainty and concern at every level.The Oakmont Sterling director, Beth, rose to the occasion and always kept the families, guardians and power of attorney's in the loop with every decision. I've appreciated all the communication and love that has been bestowed upon Agnes during her time at Oakmont. I can't thank you all enough!From Beth's leadership with Courtney's support, to Nicole at the front desk, Ken in the kitchen, Jodi with activities and Jim making sure safe maintenance is underway at all times, plus all the other wonderful staff members...Agnes and I truly appreciate you!

Carrie Ketelhut: Our parents have been living at Pine Ridge of Plumbrook for about a month now. Although my siblings and I were nervous about finding senior living that would be welcoming and meet their needs while also staying within a budget, Margo and Lauren made us feel very comfortable with our decision. They were very responsive to all of our questions and allowed us to visit a number of times to tour the building and available apartments, talk to the residents and meet staff members. Everyone at Pine Ridge has been very friendly and welcoming, which has allowed our parents to easily make the transition from their home of 50+ years. They are making many friends and enjoying the variety of activities and services available to them. We are confident that we made the best decision in choosing Pine Ridge and highly recommend it to other families.

Vivian Dockery: My sister joined your community in August, 2022. She is very happy being a resident there. All her experiences thus far have been positive. She felt very much welcomed by all – from staff to other residents. The facility is well maintained. The food selection is nicely varied and delicious. The activities are frequently scheduled and enjoyable. Her apartment suits her needs very well. Extra bonuses are the Physical Therapy offered right at Plumbrook. Having access to the hair salon is another nice perk. She will eventually make use of the transportation provided, as well.I would not hesitate to recommend Pine Ridge of Plumbrook. As I have said to several others, living at Plumbrook is like being on a land bound cruise ship. 😊
Kathryn Wesserling: After decades of homeownership, our parents moved to Pine Ridge. Best choice, ever! They had privacy with plenty of space, but the option of community when they wanted. Meals at 8-person assigned tables gave them a chance to make friends, as did various events and activities. Mom & Dad used to eat out all the time; at Pine Ridge, they were able to eat restaurant quality meals in (our chef at the time offered really good options.) With Mom's mobility issues, the weekly cleaning and laundry services made life so much easier on them. Even with all those wonderful amenities, I think one of the best things about Pine Ridge was how bright and beautiful the building was and how lovely the grounds were. And, a big plus was that all the staff truly liked the residents. Family members (especially, babies and toddlers) were made to feel welcome whenever we visited. Whenever I drive near the area, the memories make me smile.

Conner Smigs: Shorehaven is truly the best fit for our loved one!! We have personally toured over 23 Assisted Living facilities and chose Shorehaven as they are smaller which is less overwhelming. The staff all are very caring and genuinely want to make their residents happy. Heather has been fantastic, she helped us figure out the best room and updated us when it was ready to move in to. She was not pushy and just helped us work through a few options to pick the right space. The activities are very engaging and the residents are happy. The building is beautiful, very light and soothing wall color and decor while still being casual cozy.Other places I toured where stunning but less focused on the residents and were just too big with all their campus. When your loved one struggles with memory issues and large campus with all these buildings is overwhelming for the family to walk all that way, I can't image how it would be for someone with memory care issues or mobility issues. Lastly, Shorehaven is Month to Month. Other places wanted a One Year Contract which means if your loved one passes away you are stuck PAYING for a YEAR!!!
Lynda Lane: Mom was a resident at Shorehaven for about eight years. From the moment she began touring different senior livings, Shorehaven was at the top of her list to live at because it felt so warm and inviting to her. She made so many good friends and just loved all the activities that were offered. The staff were so warm and friendly and she so enjoyed chatting with them. My sister and I always felt at ease knowing how happy and secure she was living at Shorehaven. I honestly believe that she could have been a spokesperson in a commercial for Shorehaven because she enjoyed living there so much.

David Worth: We moved my mother and stepfather into Shorehaven about a year ago. It is an amazing place with wonderfully caring people that work there. He gained 10 lbs after about 3 months, which in his case was great as he had been sick and had lost a lot of weight! The food is excellent with 2 "specials" at lunch and at dinner each day along with the ability to order about 15-20 other items off the menu if you don't crave the special. They clean the apartment for them weekly and there are innumerous daily activities or outings which they can attend. All in all they love it and particularly the staff who will help you whenever and however you need them to. Highly recommended!

Carrie Carney: As I was faced with trying to find a new home for my dad who was recently showing signs of dementia, I was overwhelmed by the thought of this tough and tedious process. After talking to Heather at Shorehaven I was quickly put at ease and even excited to move him in. The entire process was so smooth and he immediately felt at home and safe. Shorehaven is very clean and the food was so good. Each and every employee we encountered thought of each resident as part of their family. After moving my dad in I was now feeling an overwhelming sense of peace knowing he was so well cared for. Teri DiMichele: Mom moved to Shore Haven recently. It was a difficult decision to move mom from the home she lived in for many years to a senior living community. We chose ShoreHaven as the place for mom to live and we made the right choice. The staff is wonderful and made the transition seamless. Every staff member has made mom feel welcomed and part of the community. Mom was assigned an ambassador who has helped mom join in the many activities offered. It is so nice to see mom chatting away at lunch with peers and then spending her afternoons and evenings in activities she enjoys. The executive director Brian was instrumental in making our decision to have mom live at ShoreHaven. He answered all of our questions and his helpfulness exceeded our expectations. Once mom moved in, he checked on her often and promptly completed any requests we had. I would highly recommend sending a loved one who needs companionship and TLC to this community.

My dad was involved in many of the activities that Shorehaven provides it kept him busy and active.The personal care that the staff gave was especially appreciated.They would converse with my father about any sporting event that was happening. While my mother was alive and in need of more and more care they treated her Like a queen.

They offer a wide variety of activities. My mom feels comfortable and safe. She enjoys the meals, entertainment, activities and her new friends.This past year has been extra challenging with Covid. The staff has been so positive and very creative keeping the residents engaged. They have given the residents as much independence as possible, still keeping them safe and following the ever changing guidelines. I am grateful for the hardworking staff, they are a special group.
Jack and Gale Peterson: My mother, who recently passed away just shy of 99, moved into Shorehaven (Atria at the time) 11 years ago. In those 11 years she was blessed to meet and develop long term friendships with many of the residents and staff.She always had interesting and exciting activities to participate in that she enjoyed greatly. She tried to do two activities every day. Crafts were her favorite. She played wii bowling, attended various exercise classes, and sang in the Shorehaven choir. They also had many learning activities such as learning to draw, do watercolor paintings, make greeting cards and act in plays put on by the residents.The facilities were well kept. Her apartment was on the lake side of the building so she could look out and enjoy the lake which was very relaxing.The many of the staff and residents that she was close to were particularly caring and attentive toward the end. This speaks volumes to the friendships and relationships that can be developed and nurtured at Shorehaven.
Brigid Seledotis: I have found that during the whole covid19 pandemic that the staff and helpers kept their cool even under a lot of pressure. I am grateful for the care and attention that the people receive.

David Verkeyn: I am a resident at Shorehaven. I moved in the 1st part of May last year. I have been very impressed how the staff knows every resident by name. I have profound respect for Bobbi, Cheryl and Linda in the Life Enrichment Dept. They work so hard to motivate and engage us in activity programs and bringing everyone together. The houskeeping department and caregivers have been very supportive and take good care of me.
Mary Penkala: I go with my husband every time he performs at Shorehaven, which has been monthly for the last 10 years.I have noticed that the staff is very attentive to the needs of the residents. As I have had the opportunity to interact with many residents, they seem to be very happy living there.
