Jasmine Myrick: The move in process was very sweet and simple. From the application process, the fees were not that bad, the touring of the property the communication with the staff, questions being answered everything was a smooth transition. I love the apartment, the bathroom, the kitchen and the balcony. I love that they have a playground and a pool. My kids are going to have a ball this summer.

Also when I moved in they didn't make the updates to the bathroom like I asked. But other than that it's quiet and it's good location because it's close to alot the stores I frequent.

Sharon Novak-Runde: My husband and I have been here over 5 years. We have wonderful neighbors, beautiful community. Dawn the manager and the maintenance crew are awesome. The grounds are well maintained, snow is always shoveled. We have never had an issue. It feels like family here.

Haidyn Michael: I currently live here and have had water damage, called several times, i was told it’s mildew… clearly it’s not…apartment manager proceeded to yell at my 16 year old daughter and threatened to evict me.. my kids and myself are all sick from breathing in all the mold…i was told to buy some bleach and clean it myself they told me it’s the way i live… not acceptable dawn is the rudest and most unprofessional person should not be allowed to verbally assault a minor..

If you're looking for a place that doesn't have a lot of crime, is convenient to 696 and 94, is very competitively priced, and has mostly friendly neighbors, you'd be happy here.Dawn is the current Property Manager and I've never encountered an issue with her. She seeks to make Eastbrooke a cozy and inviting place to live and is good at working difficulties out with you if you're honest and respectful. Maintenance requests are often addressed and completed in less than 24 hours.Bottom line- Eastbrooke was my home for over 8 years and I'm thankful for that. If I hadn't moved to the other side of the state to be closer to my boyfriend, I'd still be there.

Naomi Doll: Moved here as my first apartment and it was the worst experience. Office staff never answered the phone or emails. Multiple things broke in the apartment that were essential and it would take weeks before they would even look at it and when they finally showed up they would lie and say they fixed it when they hadnt. Police were there every other day because of fights in the complex. The grounds were never taken care of, and the hallways were always trashed. Shared washing machines and dryers were always broken. Pool was never cleaned. Do not live here.

Dank Thresh: You can find much better places for cheaper, you owe it to yourself to do some more digging. The office doesn't return calls promptly, the work orders get mixed up and in some cases completely forgotten about, and the neighbors are absolutely horrible. I only write this because I plan to move asap. It's truly a shame because the area is great and management is very kind. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Hefner Hugh: Worst apartment complex and rent went up! Power always going out but they always want some dam rent on time. The only good thing about this place is Holley and jasmine but the black lady who’s sits at the desk to the right when you first walk in attitude is so horrible and makes a lot of residents not even want to ask her a question. She is very rude and unprofessional with a tacky wig!!! She is the reason I’m leaving this year!! I could deal with everything else but not her!!! She’s going to cause this complex to lose a lot of residenst.

Ashantae Kelley: Worse experience living here as my first apartment. Moved here in December and within the first 48 hours my heat went out, I had to call emergency maintenance multiple times and it took them a week to fix it. I have a small child and we were both in here freezing to the point where my family had to bring me multiple heaters and were worried about the apartments urgency to fix this as well. Second incident my catalytic converter and exhaust pipes were sawed off recently and I made a police report and went to the leasing office about my concerns and who I believe did it within the complex, they didn’t do anything. I even reached out to the property management (Beacon Managment) about the incident and haven’t heard anything at all. Now my air has not been working in my apartment and has been at a steady 87 degrees for over a week and I called maintenance multiple times and they lied continuously saying that they were on their way. No one ever showed up. I have a health condition and this is just entirely too much. I wouldn’t recommend this complex to my worse enemy. I have been stressed living here from day 1. I was told if I wanted to move out of my apartment into a new one I would have to start and entire new lease and this would be considered breaking the lease and I have had multiple complaints that I have made that have not been addressed also. A joke, and I’m fed up. Furthermore, I was told I would get a dish washer and patio with my apartment, did not receive either one and I have proof of this being stated by the leasing office manager in a viewing video that I recorded when I came to look at the apartments for the first time. When it was brought to her attention recently she had a nasty attitude about the situation and told the other employee nothing was ever guaranteed to anyone, which was a lie.
GLAMOUR GLASS Email: I like it here! My experience with the staff has been nothing but pleasant. There has been a little lag in response to maintenance calls recently, but that's only because of the pandemic. Otherwise the repairs have always been prompt. My neighbors are friendly and most have been here for many years. I happily plan to renew my lease again.

The apartment smelt bad all the time , my dishwasher never worked and office and maintenance gets an attitude when you ask them to do their job ! They kept my security deposit and have the nerve to send me a bill for $1300 5 months after I left . I know for a fact me living alone I did not damage that apartment at all. they’re cheap but not even worth the $600 a month for all . Don’t do it!

For 4 years i have been dealing with unwanted pets and they won't do anything about it. I've lived with a man dead over a week in the apartment under me because they were to money hungry to kick the tenant out after almost 2 years of complaining about the urine and cigarette smells in the hallways and my apartment. I would not recommend anyone to move in here. This place and the supervisor over the property is horrible. They don't care about the tenants at all. They must have seen my review because after 5 years they decided to not renew my lease... LOL

The driveway is flooded like a river. Several trees have fallen down in the yard and the toilet is running over on the floor. I put my app in on the 29th of May and I still to this day have heard nothing. Shavon in the office was rude and uniformed when I called to tell her darrion did not come to my showing and I wasn’t left waiting with no response, I was told that I needed to be patient???? I then was referred to Malaka who still could not update me on my application status. Darrion told me she did not come to my scheduled showing because it “slipped her mind” this company took.my application money and did nothing with it. Was a total scam and very unprofessional. I was repeatedly shoved off onto other people and was constantly being lied to. I would not ever attempt to go through this company again.

ARK handled everything very professionally and quickly and made the entire process very smooth for us. They helped us with getting a quiet title as well as helping with a very difficult eviction. I would highly recommend ARK to anyone with any property management needs.
Andrae Warren: In the eight years I have been investing in this market, property management companies have been the key challenge. I have countless horror stories and have fired more than I care to remember. I ran across ARk property management a few years ago and decided to hire them for my portfolio needs. This came on the hills of a very tense situation with a previous management company that was stealing money from me and also cutting corners on repairs to properties I had tenants occupying. ARK came in right away and took over operations for my properties. Communicated with the tenants. Provided me with items of concern and recommendations for negligent hazards discovered upon inspection of my properties and upon approval repaired all items of concern promptly, without delay. Ark was fair, honest and always upfront. Even when the news was not what I wanted to hear. They have been managing my portfolio to date and I plan to continue working with ARK for all my future dealings regarding property management in the Detroit area. I am satisfied with the quality of service.
Amanda Dixon: The staff is very friendly for the most part. The application process was made very easy and convenient and the staff was able to work with our schedule to view the property we were interested in. The actual leasing process was a little more of an annoyance. We were not told verbally of a pet fee until we went to sign the lease, but after I pulled the application it was mentioned there. The fee was incorrect on the application as the cost is actually more according to the lease. When I called to inquire about it, the property manager was not very friendly and had the attitude of “you signed the lease so there’s no conversation to be had”. The issue was not of paying the fee, as I’m aware that’s standard for rental properties. The issue was lack of communication and misinformation, but more importantly the Managers attitude when I questioned it. The house itself was not cleaned at all before moving in and some of the previous tents garbage was left in the house and garage. We had to spend over $300 out of pocket in order to make the place move in ready. Other than those two issues I would recommend Ark Properties for leasing needs. Malaka was a pleasure to work with and she was very positive and upbeat. Her manager, however, could take a lesson in customer service.
Citadel Estate (Kenneth): I've been working with Greg White and his team for the past few months. The one thing I regret was not working with him sooner. The funny thing is, I am not the first person to have mentioned that in his reviews.Before Greg, I worked with various realtors and the major difference is that Greg actually cares about his client. The other realtors appeared to only care about the quick sale and to get a response back was like pulling teeth. The properties I acquired with the other realtors had caused me headaches with repairs because that realtor only cared about the quick sale than to realize I would have been a long time investor. I am currently working with Greg on accuring my next two properties and making it a total of eight. Being an out of state investor, it's important to have "boot on the ground". Greg and his team know the areas to invest to limit your expenses. Greg has helped me analyze many properties and negotiated the prices down for me. I can't thank him enough.The team at ARK-Property Management is professional and take pride in their company. With the above mentioned headaches from the properties acquired from the other realtor, ARK-property management company has been the problem solvers. The many emails and phone calls I have made to ARK has always been helpful on finding the right solution.The management fees at ARK-Property Management is reasonable and to come to think about it I feel as though I am getting a great deal because of all the work they have done correcting the above mentioned problems. I can't thank the Team at ARK-Property Management enough for the hard work they have done and look forward on working with them long term

They make it bad. 2.0 just becuse the Management is respectful. Oh and it’s to over priced no balcony , no pool , no central air out charging 900 a month ????? Cristine M: their application fee is an outstanding nonrefundable100 dollars, which is quite frankly unheard of. which I received no updates about when I applied. it screams scam. the hours are 9am-6pm but don't be surprised if no one picks up. the only way I was able to get someone to pick up the phone was spam calling back to back to back until I annoyed someone enough in the office to pick up. when they picked up the phone they shouted at me like me trying to call them through their own appointed business hours was an inconvenience. this place is a mess, despite me being desperate to find housing in the winter, I can't in good mind ignore the rudeness, the unprofessionalism, lack of communication and hundreds of horrible reviews. I was "conditionally approved" but I'm running far from this place and their nonsense.

I had my viewing cancelled twice on me, and the application process is taking over a month with me dragging management kicking and screaming all of the way through it. They are useless and take days to get back to you when it should take minutes. Don't waste your time or sanity.

My first month of living I spent too many visits to the office to get my toilet fixed and maintenance requests that have not been fulfilled. This place is ghetto and unprofessional. DO NOT apply to live here because they DO NOT care about pre-inspections or making sure you are living comfortable for $834 a month! I will not be releasing or recommending this establishment to a soul. Many things wrong upon my arrival that does not make sense. Nasty old used soap and used cleaning material in the bathroom. Too many thing wrong on top of the heat not working. Floors where dirty so the place was not clean or inspected.

Zander: Awful at communicating with prospective tenants, especially given how steep the application fee is. I was told I was “preapproved” and could schedule a tour but received no communication after that aside from automated text messages. They never answer their phones, whether during business hours or not. And the answering machine doesn’t take messages, it just hangs up on you after promising to call you back (which never happens of course). I am lucky I was able to get a place somewhere else.

alondra browning: I’ll start by saying my apartment is nice and everything works well(updated) and the staff was very attentive so the process went smoothly…now cons some of the parking lot is crumbling and maintenance request take forever and I just moved here…also nobody’s talking about the gate (which is a part of the reason I chose here), isn’t working and hasn’t for a while now with no update (more people should care given it’s an amenity) kinda disappointing.
Brandi Hall: The leasing office representatives are so helpful and understanding! I fell on hard times and Harlo was patient with me and worked me through my hardship! The flexibility that was provided was beyond my expectations and greatly appreciated! Thank you Harlo!!!

Matthew Foran: Apartment needed to be cleaned and smelled of smoke. Basement storage area had broken latch and was filled with someone else's stuff. Paint spray on everything. Older appliances.Good sized apartment and everything works alright. Can't hear much from neighbors, although there is occasionally a strong smoke smell.Generally not a bad place to live but it could use some updating.

They'll rip you off.

Living here seeing how people treat each other, the staff and owners have NO respect for the people living here. Now I’m just in a very bad place mentally all because management won’t get the rodents out of the walls. I talked to someone 3 WEEKS AGO notifying him that there were rodents in the wall. They were quickly to respond they’ll take care of it and they have still yet to even come out to my building. I also asked when will the hallway carpets be replaced. (They won’t be)It’s so embarrassing inviting new people over and the first thing they look at are 10+ stains all different colors on the carpet. Harlo apartments IS the worse place to be.Their job is not that hard.

Constantly woken up by yelling neighbors both in their apartment and in the parking lot. The whole place smells like weed 24/7. Front security gate is constantly broken or not even up. Kathryn G.: Walls are super thin and if you aren’t into smelling weed everyday, this isn’t the place for you.Entry gates were installed and it was an unbelievably bad idea. Visitors & deliveries would hold up the line to enter because they did not have a card to swipe in or the screen was broken making it impossible for them to enter with a code. Due to this, the line always backed up onto Mound. An absolute safety issue being stuck on Mound.Multiple squirrels were living in the ceiling of the building. You could hear them chewing on the rafters and fighting. I submitted 3 online work orders, all being canceled on me and then when I got a hold of the office about another issue, I brought this up and they said they would work to take care of it and did not. 2 weeks of nothing being done, I finally had enough and I decided to contact the management company. I intentionally did not leave the name of the complex in my voicemail to ensure I would get a call back and then I could talk to someone about this. Well the person who called me back from the management company was so unprofessional, I was appealed by at how RUDE and CONDESCENDING this person was towards me because I did not tell them the complex name in my voicemail. They called during working hours and I was in various meetings that day. Instead of leaving me a voicemail, the rude employee kept calling me. I finally was able to answer and that's when I discovered what kind of sh*t people run this place. They at least sent a crew out to deal with the squirrel problem, but they didn't even make sure to fix all areas at where these animals were getting in, so it never stopped. At one point there was a bunch of insulation in the hallway because the attic cover had a hole in it and the squirrels were kicking it up so much it was falling out of the attic. Good luck to anyone who is still dealing with this, because management clearly doesn't care.Don't count on the office letting everyone know when all major work is being done on buildings. They had roofers out before 7AM on a Saturday one time to replace the adjoining building roof with no notice. So that was cool...not.The office staff is somewhat nice, I guess. Their only problem is that they never answer the phones and never call you back if you leave a voicemail. And good luck being able to go see someone in person now, since COVID has hit. I tried to turn in my notice on time of when I was vacating and when I knocked on the door, they wouldn't open it saying they were closed, during normal business hours. I had to talk to this lady through the door so she would take my paperwork. There is not one sign anywhere indicating instructions on how to reach staff or where to drop things off. I was not comfortable putting this in their box outside the building where people drop off rent to ensure they received my paperwork since there was no way to get a hold of anyone.After COVID arrived, we were given letters that the buildings would be cleaned more to upkeep with cleanliness. This never happened. I saw the building get cleaned once, maybe 2x per month. They never took any extra precautions to keep everyone safe. I know this because I was working from home the entire time.The interior of the apartments leave much to be desired. The walls are all flat paint and gross feeling. Installation of a simple hand towel holder, outlets, etc are all crooked and installed so badly, they either fall apart barely touching it or are ready to come out of the wall, and the carpeting clearly needs replacing.If you want quality, go somewhere else. You will be much happier in the end and will probably get better treatment.
Marsha Grayson: OMG these reviews are horrible!!! Seems as though the owner spends more time responding to reviews than making improvements to the complex. SQUIRRELS IN THE WALLS!!! POTHOLES. OWNER stay off the computer and use your rent to fix the complex. Apply for a grant or something.
Makaila Patrice: I would not recommend this place. When I applied for the apartment, my original start date was 7/7/2020 and I received a called saying that the move in date would have to be moved to 7/11/2020 because it didn't work for them. I agreed to change my date to 7/11 then got ANOTHER call on July 3rd saying that because of the holiday the vendors cancelled and the apartment wouldn't be ready until the 18th. I moved in on 7/18/2020 and was notified after I already signed the lease that I had a "small" stain on my carpet and if it bothered me then to reach out to the property manager to have it replaced. There were multiple stains on the carpet and I DID NOT do a final walk through, I was just given my keys with a paper to write down any damages. I reached out to the property manager and never received a response so I decided to go inside the leasing office where I was told that they do not put in new carpet unless it's severe stains. I have multiple stains in the living room alone, not to mention the dog hair through out the apartment. Please save your money and look elsewhere. I regret not taking the time to look at the reviews prior to applying for the apartment and signing the lease online before my move in date.
Destiny Tate: I’m looking to move into. I’m reading these reviews like I dodged a bullet. I came in for a tour. The apartment building stinks. Looks so dirty. The rugs in the hallway smell bad. The apartment was small and the rent it way to high for the size of that apartment no thanks.
DeJohn Tripp: I don't normally write reviews because it can be a hassle. I currently live here and i have been here for almost two years. This place is bad. Not horrible but bad. Since i want to write this review without my own personal experiences then ill keep it simple. Maintenance is very slow unless its an emergency. At least what they classify as an emergency. The area that its in is the only real pro. The living rooms are a nice size. These are decent sized apartments. However, almost every single door is broken and cant really be fixed. It took them 18 months to lower the front gates to make it a little safer. We have potholes everywhere. Not deep enough to crack a rim but deep enough to give you a small roller coaster ride. They don't enforce the no party pool rule so its pointless to go. I'll be leaving in august. My best advice unless you have a job near here like Chrysler or the GM Tech Center don't move here. Its also really overpriced. Nice Staff for the most part though. Also if you have bad credit they look more at your income so if you make 3 times the rent amount a month usually they will approve you. 2,250 is the magic number for a 1 bedroom

The office staff are rude and unhelpful, rent is too high for what you get, and any maintenance request gets ignored or forgotten.Would not recommend and am looking forward to moving out.

I regret moving here and am so upset that I had to resign the lease due to having a baby and not being prepared to move right after.The cons of moving here and the treatment has outweighed the entire experience. Regardless I will not be signing another lease and so far have deferred every person i could from moving here!
